Mildred M. Cavin

ALBANY, Mo. -- Mildred May (Sims) Cavin, 86, Albany, formerly of Sheridan, Mo., died Sunday, Jan. 31, 1999, at a health-care center in Albany.
Born in Worth County, Mo., on Jan. 29, 1913, Mrs. Cavin had lived in Blockton, Iowa; and then moved to Sheridan, where she lived for 24 years. She had been a resident of a health-care center in Albany for six years.
A former homemaker, Mrs. Cavin was a member of the Isadora Church of Christ in Grant City, Mo.
In 1930, she married Cleve Wiley. They were later divorced. In 1942, she married O.J. Merckling. He died. Then in 1963, she married Albert Cavin. He is deceased.
Mrs. Cavin also was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Gertrude Sims; three brothers, Wayne, Ted and Guy Sims; and a sister, Dorothy Pannkuk.
Surviving: a son, Burl Wiley, St. Joseph; a daughter, Betty Howser, Cameron, Mo.; two brothers, Dempsey Sims, Mission, Texas, and Clyde Sims, Bossier, La.; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Service: 10:30 a.m. today, Prugh-Dunfee Funeral Home, Grant City, Mo. Burial: Isadora Cemetery, Grant City.
Claudine B. Clark

Claudine B. (Bopropvic) Clark, 81, St. Joseph, died Saturday, Jan. 30, 1999, at a St. Joseph hospital.
Mrs. Clark, a homemaker, was a member of the Catholic faith.
Born July 27, 1917, in Poland, she lived most of her life in St. Joseph.
Mrs. Clark was preceded in death by her husband, Grafton; a son, Grafton Jr.; and her parents, Louis and Anna Bopropvic.
Surviving: a granddaughter, Deborah Pinson, St. Joseph; a grandson, Michael, St. Joseph; and four great-grandchildren.

Georgie L. DeMoss

Georgie Lou (Appleby) DeMoss, 51, St. Joseph, died Saturday, Jan. 30, 1999, at her home.
Mrs. DeMoss, a homemaker, was a member of the Baptist faith.
Born Sept. 12, 1947, in St. Joseph, she was a lifelong resident there.

Norman, St. Joseph; a brother, Rudy Seckler, St. Joseph; three half brothers, Ronnie, Jeff and Nick Appleby, all of Modesto; a sister, Sandra Flynn, St. Joseph; five half sisters, Linda R. Aurelia R. Fangman
1914-1999
SENECA, Kan. -- Aurelia R. (Lackey) Fangman, 84, Seneca, died Sunday, Jan. 31, 1999, at a Seneca hospital.
Born July 27, 1914, near St. Benedict, Kan., Mrs. Fangman attended St. Mary's School, St. Benedict. She lived in Kansas City, Kan., for five years where she cared for the family of Dr. Carey. She returned to St. Benedict in 1936.
Mrs. Fangman was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Church, Seneca, St. Ann's Altar Society, the Prayer Chain, and Perpetual Adoration, all of the church. Mrs. Fangman also was a member of the Loyal Christian Benevolent Association and the Benedictine Oblates, both of Atchison, Kan. She was a former member of St. Mary's Church, St. Benedict.
On March 30, 1937, she married George H. Fangman in St. Benedict. They lived and farmed south of Benedict until 1974, when they retired and moved to Seneca. Her husband, George, died in 1980.
Mrs. Fangman also was preceded in death by three sons, James, Thomas and Leo; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Surviving: five sons, Fr. Wilfred, O.S.B., Kansas City, Kan., Mark and Eugene, both of Seneca, Richard, Silver Lake, Kan., and Wilbert, Newton, Kan.; two daughters, Grace Kohake, Seneca, and Therese Beaty, Kansas City, Kan.; four sisters, Rosemary Woolsey, Bolivar, Mo., Rita Heinen, Huron, Kan., Eileen McQueen, Kansas City, Mo., and Leona Schmelzle, Seneca; 38 grandchildren; 75 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Harry L. Goff Jr.

HAMILTON, Mo. -- Harry Lee Goff Jr., 82, Hamilton, died Saturday, Jan. 30, 1999, in Cameron, Mo.
Mr. Goff worked as an engineer for the International Shoe Co., Hamilton, from its opening in 1947 until his retirement in 1982.
Born May 7, 1916, in St. Louis, Mr. Goff was a member of the Hamilton United Methodist Church, Hamilton Masonic Lodge No. 224, and American Legion Post.
In October 1948, he married Edna B. Haggard. She died in 1991.
Mr. Goff also was preceded in death by his parents, Harry L. Sr. and Helen C. Goff; two brothers; and two sisters.
Surviving: a daughter, Connie Herring, Braymer, Mo.; and a grandchild.

Louise B. Howard

TRIMBLE, Mo. -- Louise B. Howard, 83, Trimble, died Saturday, Jan. 30, 1999, at a Kansas City hospital.
Born Dec. 6, 1915, in Clay County, Mo., Mrs. Howard was a lifelong resident of the area.
She was a member of the Paradise United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Howard was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Howard, in 1984.
Surviving: a son, David C., Trimble; a daughter, Linda East, Trimble; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

James S. Jones
1920-1999
James S. Jones, 78, St. Joseph, died Friday, Jan. 29, 1999, at his home.
Mr. Jones worked in the packaging department at Quaker Oats, St. Joseph, for 40 years before retiring in 1982. He also drove for several car companies when trading out cars. Mr. Jones also served in the military during World War II.
Born June 14, 1920, in St. Joseph, he was a graduate of Central High School, St. Joseph.
Mr. Jones was a member of the Frederick Boulevard Baptist Church, the McCarthy Baptist Church and Quaker Oats Old Timers, all of St. Joseph.
On Oct. 18, 1957, he married Louise A. Adkins in St. Joseph. They were foster parents for 20 years. His wife, Louise, survives of the home.
Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents, Bayard and Lula; and two infant brothers, Bartley B. and Raymond B.
Additional survivors: a daughter, Brenda Houp, St. Joseph; a sister, Margaret Earhart, St. Joseph; and two grandchildren.

PARNELL, Mo. -- Susa Jane (Sanders) Maxwell, 92, Parnell, died Sunday, Jan. 31, 1999, at a Maryville, Mo., hospital.
Mrs. Maxwell, a homemaker, volunteered with the Older Adults Transportation Service.
Born Jan. 26, 1907, in Pine, Mo., she lived in the Parnell area since 1956.
Mrs. Maxwell was a member of the Parnell United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Maxwell, in 1964; a daughter, Betty L. Maxwell; her parents, Rev. Arlie and Martha Sanders; four sisters; five brothers; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Surviving: four daughters, Maye Crenshaw and Jean Adams, both of Parnell, Mary Maxwell, Maryville, and Shirley Shoesmith, Lee's Summit, Mo.; three sons, Charles, Junction City, Kan., Edward Jr., Kansas City, and Clay, Parnell; a brother, Ed Sanders, St. Clair, Mo.; 18 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

BETHANY, Mo. -- Vivian Janet (Meinecke) Mlika, 79, Bethany, died Friday, January 29, 1999, at a local nursing home.
Mrs. Mlika, a homemaker, moved to Bethany about a year ago.
Born August 21, 1919, in Mercer County, Mo., she lived in Warsaw, Mo., until moving to New Hampton, Mo. for 10 years.
On December 24, 1954, she married Robert L. Mlika in Wathena, Kan. He survives of the home.
Mrs. Mlika was preceded in death by her parents, Herm and Ann Meinecke; a half brother, Glen Hubbard; and a grandchild.

Shirley A. Rudolph

SAVANNAH, Mo. -- Shirley Ann (Ramsey) Rudolph, 64, Savannah, died of cancer Saturday, Jan. 30, 1999, at a St. Joseph hospice house.
Miss Rudolph worked as a bookkeeper, and was employed by Tri-State Insulation, Townsend & Wall, McDonald's Restaurants, and was currently employed with Village Flowers, all of St. Joseph. She also was employed by Burns Farm Supply and Shady Lawn Nursing Home, both of Savannah.
Born April 17, 1934, near Fillmore, Mo., Miss Rudolph was a graduate of Fillmore High School. She also attended the former Platt-Gard Business School, St. Joseph.
She was a member of the First Christian Church, Fillmore, and American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 287, Savannah.
Miss Rudolph was preceded in death by her father, Ivan R. Ramsey; and a brother, Sherrill Ramsey.
Surviving: her mother, Charlene W. Ramsey, of the home.

Catherine M. Doyle

NORTONVILLE, Kan.--Catherine M. (Meers) Newbrey Doyle, 87, Nortonville, formerly of Atchison, Kan., died Sunday, Jan. 31, 1999, at a Nortonville health-care center.
Mrs. Doyle worked as a messenger for the Missouri Pacific Railroad in Atchison until 1931. Then she worked as a sales clerk for the J.C. Penney Co. and Ramsey Department Store, both of Atchison, until retiring in 1975.
Born July 14, 1911, on a farm north of Troy, Kan., she moved to Atchison in 1927. She was a graduate of Atchison High School.
Mrs. Doyle was a member of First Christian Church, where she was active in the What-So-Ever Class; Crescent White Shrine; Martha Washington chapter, Order of Eastern Star; Missouri Pacific Women's Club; American Legion Auxiliary and Atchison Hospital Auxiliary, all of Atchison.
On Sept. 19, 1931, she married Carl W. Newbrey in Kansas City, Kan. He died in 1970. Then she married Bernard O. Doyle on Sept. 5, 1977, in Atchison. He died in 1991.
Mrs. Doyle also was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Lula Meers; three sisters, Ruth Barry, Helen Johnson and Georgia Williams; and a brother, Francis Meers.
Surviving: a stepson, William H. Doyle, Kansas City; and a stepdaughter, Mary C. Lewis, Olathe, Kan.

Ervin Eccles

CHILLICOTHE, Mo. -- Ervin Eccles, 98, Chillicothe, formerly of Chula and Wheeling, Mo., died Sunday, Jan. 31, 1999, at a health-care center in Chillicothe.
Mr. Eccles, born in Livingston County, Mo., on July 25, 1900, had farmed and served in the Army during World War I. He also had lived in and near Eversonville, Mo., since 1942. Mr. Eccles was a graduate of the Chula high school.
On May 17, 1922, he married Bertha Case in Chillicothe. She died in 1978.
Mr. Eccles also was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Cora.
Surviving: two daughters, June Simmons, Chula, and Doris Perue, Masaryktown, Fla.; a sister, Helen Meservey, Trenton, Mo.; seven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Helen L. (Creason) Heikes, 64, St. Joseph, died Saturday, Jan. 30, 1999, at a St. Joseph hospital following a lengthy illness.
Born in Harris, Mo., on May 25, 1934, Mrs. Heikes lived most of her life in St. Joseph.
She was a member of the Mitchell Park Christian Church in St. Joseph.
Mrs. Heikes was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene T. Sr., in 1998; a son, Ollie; and her mother, Grace E.
Surviving: a daughter, Louise E. Heikes, Savannah, Mo.; two sons, Eugene I. Jr., Negaunee, Mich., and Jess, St. Joseph; her father, Herman Creason, St. Joseph; a sister, Anna D. Lamothe, Meriden, Conn.; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
