BETHANY, Mo. -- Gladis M. (Glenn) Barnhouse-Mosbarger, 89, Bethany, died Saturday, March 6, 1999, at a Bethany health-care center.
Mrs. Mosbarger was a retired school teacher.
Born Nov. 3, 1909, in Martinsville, Mo., she was a member of United Methodist Church, Bethany.
Mrs. Mosbarger was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Mosbarger; her parents, Albert and Rhoenah Glenn; and a great-grandchild.
Surviving: a son, Gene Barnhouse, Blythedale, Mo.; two daughters, Janet Ury, Blythedale, and Glenda Stephenson, Grant City, Mo.; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

CHILLICOTHE, Mo. -- Alma Florella (Trumbo-Brown) Myers, 99, Chillicothe, died Saturday, March 6, 1999, at a Chillicothe health-care center.
Mrs. Myers, a homemaker, was born on Jan. 17, 1900.
On April 12, 1916, she married Roy Brown. He died in 1944. She then married Alfred Myers on Jan. 29, 1950, in Chula, Mo. He died in 1969.
Mrs. Myers also was preceded in death by two daughters; four stepchildren; her parents, George O. and Clara B. Trumbo; four brothers; two sisters; and two grandchildren.
Surviving: a son, Charles W. Brown, Chillicothe; three stepsons; two daughters, Maxine LeBeau, El Cajon, Calif., and Frances Geske, Hobart, Ind.; a sister, Vera Mast, Excelsior Springs, Mo.; 15 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and 22 great-great-grandchildren.

Harold Rinehart

ALBANY, Mo. -- Harold "Corky" Rinehart, 64, Albany, died Saturday, March 6, 1999, at his home.
Born Dec. 30, 1934, in Allendale, Mo., Mr. Rinehart was an MFA representative for northwest Missouri and Illinois. He also worked as a MFA hardware manager and worked for the city of Albany. He also served in the Navy during the Korean War.
Mr. Rinehart was a member of the American Legion Post No. 106, Saddle Club and the Jaycees, all of Albany; McFall (Mo.) Lions Club; American Quarter Horse Association and American Paint Horse Association for more than 40 years; Four River Show Circuit; and the Mic-O-Says.
On April 22, 1956, he married Betty Smith. She survives of the home.
Mr. Rinehart was preceded in death by his father, Joseph E.; a brother, J.B.; and a sister, Joan Franklin.

AMITY, Mo. -- Ermal J. Steiner, 72, died Friday, March 5, 1999, at a Maysville, Mo., health-care center.
Mr. Steiner, a farmer, served in the Army during the Korean War.
Born Feb. 27, 1927, was a lifelong resident of the Orchid, Mo., community, near Union Star, Mo., where he was a graduate of Union Star High School.
Mr. Steiner was a member of Orchid Christian Church, near Union Star, where he served as deacon and Sunday school superintendent. He also was a member of the National Farmers' Organization.
On Sept. 21, 1952, he married Norma C. Haley in Santa Rosa, Mo. She survives of the home.

John T. Vaselakos

John T. Vaselakos, 72, St. Joseph, died Saturday, March 6, 1999, at his home.
Mr. Vaselakos began the McDonald's franchise in St. Joseph with his brother, Pete, in 1963. Together they built the franchise to three restaurants. He retired in 1990.
Born April 24, 1926, in Washington, Penn., he had resided in Chicago before moving to St. Joseph in 1963.
Mr. Vaselakos was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church of St. Dionysios, Kansas City, and had attended DePaul University, in Chicago.
He was a member of the St. Joseph Country Club and a supporter of Camp Quality.
He also was a member of the Missouri Western State College Foundation Board; MWSC Gold Coat Club; and was presently serving on the search committee for MWSC athletic director. The Betty and John Vaselakos Dormitory Hall at Missouri Western State College was named in honor of Mr. Vaselakos and his wife.
Mr. Vaselakos also was a member of the Heartland Foundation Board and active with the American Cancer Society. He received the Hope Award for five years; the Award of Courage in 1991; the Buchanan County Medical Society's Humanitarian Award; and the Ray Kroc Award for Outstanding Service.
On July 27, 1973, he married Betty Stanley. She died in 1994.
Mr. Vaselakos also was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Clara.
Surviving:a brother, Pete, St. Joseph; and a sister, Mary Photos, Chicago.

Fern Anderson

LEE'S Summit, Mo. -- Fern (Mellenbruch) Anderson, 86, Lee's Summit, formerly of Denton, Kan., died Saturday, March 6, 1999, in Des Moines, Iowa.
Mrs. Anderson, a homemaker, also had been the first woman undersheriff of Brown County, Kan., serving under Sheriff John Mellenbruch.
Born near Fairview, Kan., on Jan. 27, 1913, she moved to a farm west of Denton in 1940. She was a graduate of the Hiawatha, Kan., high school.
She was a member of the Upper Wolf Lutheran Church, southeast of Robinson, Kan.; and later attended the Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Lee's Summit.
On Dec. 27, 1939, she married Donald Anderson, near Fairview, Kan. They made their home on the Anderson farm west of Denton and farmed until 1995. He died in 1992. She became a resident of Lee's Summit in 1995.
Mrs. Anderson also was preceded in death by her parents, John and Effie Mellennbruch; two brothers, Ernest and Herman Mellenbruch; and four sisters, Ruth Mellenbruch, Edith Gilliland, Leah Brockhoff and Emma Reber.
Surviving: three sons, John, Trimble, Mo., Richard, Caney, Kan., and Walter, Osage City, Kan.; a daughter, Teresa Cawthon, Lee's Summit; a brother, Adrian Mellenbruch, Axtell, Kan.; two sisters, Dola Croxton, Powhattan, Kan., and Wanda Knetter, Piper, Kan.; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Alberta L. Blankenship

HIAWATHA, Kan. -- Alberta L. (Franks) Blankenship, 79, Hiawatha, died Monday, March 8, 1999, at the Hiawatha hospital.
Mrs. Blankenship was employed by the St. Joseph State Hospital in St. Joseph for nearly 30 years until her retirement.
Born Jan. 20, 1920, in Camden Point, Mo., she was reared by her grandmother, Flora Foster. Mrs. Blankenship had lived on a farm in the Camden Point area until moving to St. Joseph in 1961. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
In April of 1938, she married William M. Blankenship. They made their home on a farm near Camden Point. The couple was later divorced. She had been a resident of health-care centers in Hiawatha and that area for four years.
She also had been married to Oscar Pederson.
Mrs. Blankenship was preceded in death by her parents, Cam and Minnie Franks; and a brother, William Franks.
Surviving: a daughter, Linda Jamison, Bladensburg, Md.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Harry R. Boswell

MIDWEST CITY, Okla. -- Harry R. Boswell, 96, Midwest City, formerly of New Point, Mo., died Saturday, March 6, 1999, in Midwest City.
Mr. Boswell had been employed by the United States Border Patrol and retired as chief inspector in Ogdensburg, N.Y. Then he worked for the New York Thruway in Tarrytown, N.Y.
Born in New Point on Feb. 28, 1903, he had lived in Havre, Mont., Bonners Ferry, Idaho; Ogdensburg and Great Falls, Mont., before moving to Oklahoma in 1989.
He was a graduate of the New Point high school and attended Chillicothe (Mo.) Business College for a year.
Mr. Boswell was a member of the Sunrise Presbyterian Church, Great Falls, where he served as an elder and deacon; Masonic Lodge; Temple Shrine, Scottish Rite; Order of the Eastern Star, of which he was a past patron; Kiwanis Club and American Association of Retired Persons.
On Nov. 10, 1928, he married Selma C. Sellberg in Havre. She died in 1997
Mr. Boswell also was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel S. and Lula C.; two brothers, Everett and Charles; and three sisters, Garnett Kneale, June Barnes and Reah Lemon.
Surviving: a daughter, Betty J. Bostic, Midwest City; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Doris J. Daniels
1923-1999
TACOMA, Wash. -- Doris Jean (Madison) Daniels, 76, Tacoma, formerly of St. Joseph, died Friday, Feb. 26, 1999, at her residence following a lengthy illness of lymphoma.
Mrs. Daniels had been a yeoman in the Navy during World War II. She spent her early life in the Mabel community, north of Cameron, Mo.; and was a graduate of Cameron High School.
On May 26, 1946, she married Aubrey Daniels. They had lived in lived in Cameron, and St. Joseph, Mo.; California; Kansas and Texas, before retiring to the Tacoma area. He is deceased.
Mrs. Daniels also was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Blanche Madison; and two brothers, Malcolm and Kenneth Madison.
Surviving: four daughters, Yolanda Kirk, Indianapolis, Wendolyn, Julie and Debra Daniels, all of Poulsbo, Wash.; three sisters, Irene Smallwood and Inez Riddell, both of Cameron, and a twin, Dorothy Galpin, Gallatin, Mo.; and five grandchildren.
The funeral service was held Wednesday, March 3, at the Evergreen Chapel in Tacoma. Burial was in the University Place Cemetery in Tacoma.
Geraldine E. Figg

CHILLICOTHE, Mo. --Geraldine E. (Tompkins) Figg, 92, Chillicothe, formerly of Hale, Mo., died Sunday, March 7, 1999, at a Chillicothe health-care center.
Born March 31, 1906, in Chula, Mo., Mrs. Figg, a homemaker, was a member of the Hale United Methodist Church, Rebekah Lodge and Hale Extension Club.
On May 24, 1924, she married William F. Figg in Chillicothe. He died in 1979.
Mrs. Figg also was preceded in death by a son, Donald; her parents, Andrew and Molly Tompkins; and two sisters.
Surviving: five sons, Delford, Polo, Mo., Harold, and Tom, both of Chillicothe, Larry, Hale, and Franklin, Macon, Mo.; three daughters, Frances Wolf, Hale, Marilyn Keith, Chillicothe, and Lois J. Kipper, Richmond, Kan.; 26 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Doris J. Gallagher

MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. -- Doris J. (Faulk) Gallagher, 60, Mount Kisco, formerly of Maitland, Mo., died Saturday, March 6, 1999, in Mount Kisco.
Born in Maitland on May 2, 1938, Mrs. Gallagher had farmed in the Maitland area and had lived in that area most of her life. She was a graduate of the Maitland high school.
On June 6, 1956, she married Vernon Gallagher. He died in 1984.
Mrs. Gallagher also was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur L. and Anna G. Faulk.
Surviving: a son, David, Pittsburg, Calif.; two daughters, Joni Greschel, Chappaqua, N.Y., and Dianna O'Connell, Tarkio, Mo.; two sisters, Patricia Chaney, Skidmore, Mo., and Donna Bunnell, St. Joseph; two brothers, Jerry Faulk, Westminster, Colo., and Gary Faulk, Collinsville, Ill.; and four grandchildren.
There will be no service. A private family burial will be held at the Maitland Cemetery. Arrangements were by the Price Funeral Home in Maryville, Mo.
John W. Halter Jr.

GLADSTONE, Mo. -- John W. Halter Jr., 77, Gladstone, formerly of St. Joseph, died Sunday, March 7, 1999, at a health-care center in Gladstone.
Mr. Halter was a farmer until retiring in 1975. During World War II, he served in the Army and received a Purple Heart and four Bronze Stars.
Born in St. Joseph on Oct. 19, 1921, he spent most of his life in St. Joseph until moving to Kansas City in the 1980s. He was a former member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in St. Joseph.
On Feb. 11, 1941, he married Nan B. Campbell in St. Joseph. She died in 1984.
Mr. Halter also was preceded in death by his parents, John W. Sr. and Eleanor G.
Surviving: two sons, Wayne and Keith, both of Kansas City; two daughters, Kathleen Bray, San Diego, and Sharlene Border, Kansas City; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
