Eula D. Waller

Eula D. (Wilkinson) Waller, 99, St. Joseph, formerly of Stewartsville, Mo., died Tuesday, March 30, 1999, at a St. Joseph health-care center.
Mrs. Waller taught school near Winston, Mo., and at Stewartsville.
Born on Aug. 9, 1899, near Stewartsville, she lived in Stewartsville most of her life. She lived in Maysville, Mo., for four years before moving to St. Joseph in 1991.
She graduated from high school in Stewartsville and attended the former Missouri Wesleyan College in Cameron, Mo.
Mrs. Waller was a member of the Culbertson Chapel United Methodist Church in Stewartsville, where she held local and district offices in the United Methodist Women. She also was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star No. 175, of which she was district grand deputy matron of the 10th District; and Federated Garden Clubs, of which she was a past district president.
On Aug. 7, 1921, she married Clarence G. Waller in Cameron. He died in 1985.
Mrs. Waller also was preceded in death by her parents, James C. and Anna L. Wilkinson; and a sister, Ada D. Heldenbrand.
Surviving: two sons, Glenn, Oregon, Mo., and Marion D., Mesa, Ariz.; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Susan I. Weiser

KANSAS CITY -- Susan Ilene (Adair) Weiser, 38, Kansas City, formerly of St. Joseph, died Monday, March 29, 1999, at her residence.
Mrs. Weiser, born in St. Joseph on Jan. 7, 1961, lived most of her life in St. Joseph. She was a homemaker and of the Christian faith.
She was preceded in death by her father, Udoris Adair Sr.; maternal grandparents, John and Lydia Tracy; and a grandchild.
Surviving: her husband, Robert of the home; two daughters, Deanna Adams and Tracy Bellomy, both of St. Joseph; her mother, Juanita Adair, St. Joseph; two brothers, John and Jim Adair Jr., both of St. Joseph; five sisters, Patricia Owens, Nadine Kepner, Janice Wolfing, Doris Ezzell and Juanita Lonjers, all of St. Joseph; and a grandchild.

Thomas E. Wilkerson Jr.
1930-1999
TONGANOXIE, Kan. -- Thomas E. Wilkerson Jr., 68, Tonganoxie, formerly of St. Joseph, died Monday, March 29, 1999, at his home.
Mr. Wilkerson was a firefighter for the city of St. Joseph until retiring in 1976 as a captain. During the Korean War, he served in the Army.
Born Nov. 17, 1930, in Edgerton, Mo., he moved from Kansas City, Kan., to Tonganoxie in 1990. He was a member of the Firefighters Union Local No. 77 in St. Joseph.
On Dec. 17, 1988, he married Carol J. Smith in Leavenworth, Kan. She survives of the home.
Mr. Wilkerson was preceded in death by two sons, David and Robert.

Delano Williams
1938-1999
Delano "Harvey" Williams, 61, St. Joseph, died Monday, March 29, 1999, at a St. Joseph hospital.
Mr. Williams was employed in fleet maintenance for Ideker Construction Corp. in Joseph.
Born in Dearborn, Mo., on Jan. 10, 1938, he moved to St. Joseph 30 years ago.
Mr. Williams was a member of the Old Time Christians and a former member of the Mitchell Park Christian Church. He also was a member of the Engineers Union Local No. 101.
In 1968, he married Nadine Cregger in St. Joseph. She survives of the home.
Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Melissa; four brothers, Charles, Clifford, Donald and Howard; and a sisters, Helen Frederick.
Additional survivors: a son, Mike, Salina, Kan.; a stepson, Jim Hale, St. Joseph; two daughters, Glenn Ann Scott and Dana Cole, both of Harrington, Kan.; a brother, Milton, St. Joseph; two sisters, Alberta Frakes, St. Joseph, and Mildred Corkins, Gallatin, Mo.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Melissa M. Zahner

Melissa M. Zahner, 28, St. Joseph, died Monday, March 29, 1999, at a St. Joseph hospital after an accident Sunday at her residence.
Miss Zahner was a bookkeeper at Vatterott College, and also worked as a waitress at Adam's Bar and Grill.
Born in St. Joseph on Dec. 31, 1970, she lived most of her life in St. Joseph. She was a graduate of Vatterott College and was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
Miss Zahner was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Forrest C. Clinton; and paternal grandparents, David and Wilner Zahner.
Surviving: three sons, Emidio, Jesus and Ausensio Zahner, all of the home; a daughter, Allyssa Zahner of the home; her parents, Jewell Zahner, Laredo, Texas, and Mary Zahner of the home; four sisters, Julie Schott, Christine Boatwright and Rachel Whisler, all of St. Joseph, and Windy Matson, Fairbanks, Alaska; and maternal grandmother, Maybelle Grable, St. Joseph.

Floyd C. Brown

Floyd C. Brown, 77, St. Joseph, died Wednesday, March 31, 1999, at a St. Joseph health-care center.
Mr. Brown was a self-employed carpenter and a member of the Hyde Valley United Methoist Church, St. Joseph.
Born Oct. 30, 1921, in Altamont, Mo., he lived in Kidder, Mo., before moving to St. Joseph in 1943.
On May 21, 1941, he married Doris M. Good in Trenton, Mo. She survives of the home.
Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Pearl; and a brother, Donald.

Lillian H. Butler

Lillian H. (Brotherton) Butler, 86, St. Joseph, died Wednesday, March 31, 1999, at a St. Joseph health-care center.
Born Dec. 17, 1912, in Carrollton, Mo., Mrs. Butler lived in St. Joseph since 1949. She previously lived in Columbia, Mo.
Mrs. Butler was a member of the First Christian Church, where she served as an elder, and was a member of Chapter F.L., P.E.O. Sisterhood. She was past president of the YWCA Board and Buchanan County (Mo.) Medical Society; was past state president of the Missouri Medical Auxiliary. She served as past president of Christian Women's Fellowship and was formerly moderator of the board at First Christian Church.
On Jan. 25, 1941, she married Dr. Elza F. Butler in Carrollton. He survives of the home.
Mrs. Butler was preceded in death by her parents, W. Arthur and Mamie Brotherton; and a brother, Ervin Brotherton.
Additional survivors: two sons, Gary L., Springfield, Ill., and Richard E., Kansas City; a sister, Frances Chandler, Sabetha, Kan.; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

GALLATIN, Mo. -- Wanda Launah Carter, 97, Gallatin, died Tuesday, March 30, 1999, at a Gallatin health-care center.
Miss Carter worked in various offices as a secretary and was a clerk at the Farmers Store in Gallatin. She also owned an antique shop in Gallatin for several years.
Born May 11, 1901, in Altamont, Mo., she attended Gallatin High School and St. Joseph Business College.
Miss Carter was preceded in death by her parents, William and Anna; a brother, Orphus; and a sister, Reva Shipley.
Surviving: a niece, Romayne Jones, Cameron, Mo.; and a nephew, Carroll Shipley, Pleasant Valley, Mo.

BETHANY, Mo. -- Bonnie M. (Toddhunter) Craven, 74, Bethany, died Tuesday, March 30, 1999, at a Bethany health-care center.
Born Feb. 14, 1925, in Gentry County, Mo., Mrs. Craven was a homemaker. She lived in Denver, Mo., where she was a member of the Christian Church, before moving to Bethany.
On Oct. 31, 1942, she married Robert Craven. He survives of the home.
Mrs. Craven was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Francis Toddhunter; a brother, Charles Toddhunter; a sister, Mary Black; and a grandchild.

Isadora E. Forcum

Isadora E. Forcum, 95, St. Joseph, died Tuesday, March 30, 1999, at a St. Joseph health-care center.
Miss Forcum was employed as a switchboard operator at the former First National Bank, St. Joseph, for 35 years.
Born April 13, 1903, in Sheldon, Iowa, she lived in St. Joseph most of her life. She attended Principia College, St. Louis.
Miss Forcum was a member of the First Church of Christ Scientist and Daughters of the American Revolution.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene D. and Mary E.; and a brother, Chetwin.
There are no known survivors.

Jack W. Fromm

SAVANNAH, Mo. -- Jack W. Fromm, 55, Savannah, formerly of Bendena, Kan., died Wednesday, March 31, 1999, at a Savannah health-care center.
Mr. Fromm worked for the Doniphan County Education Cooperative in Bendena as a bus driver and maintenance man for over three years.
Born Oct. 3, 1943, in Des Moines County, Iowa, he lived in Burlington, Iowa, until moving to Bendena in 1984.
Mr. Fromm was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Fanning, Kan., the Lions Club, Highland, Kan., and the Doniphan County Historical Society, Troy, Kan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William J. and Margaret; and a brother, James.
Surviving: two brothers, Ronald, Mediapolis, Iowa, and Richard, Chicago.

Pearl Gard

MARYVILLE, Mo. -- Pearl (West) Gard, 97, Maryville, died Tuesday, March 30, 1999, at a Maryville hospital.
Mrs. Gard, a homemaker, was a member of the Shell Grove Club, Wilcox, Mo., and the Wilcox Methodist Church.
Born Feb. 15, 1902, in Ravenwood, Mo., she was a lifelong resident of the Maryville area.
On Aug. 22, 1920, she married Herbert L. Gard in Maryville. He died in 1997.
Mrs. Gard also was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Margaret West; two brothers, Floyd and Vern West; and two great-grandchildren.
Surviving: five sons, Curtis, Weston, Mo., Paul, Savannah, Mo., Darl, West Covina, Calif., and Wayne and Dean, both of Maryville; three daughters, Marilyn VanAusdall, Maryville, Norma Sikes, Odessa, Texas, and Rose A. Findlen, Madison, Wis.; 24 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

Mildred L. Givens

CHILLICOTHE, Mo. -- Mildred L. (Ashman) Givens, 78, Chillicothe, died Tuesday, March 30, 1999, at a Chillicothe health-care center.
Born Dec. 9, 1920, in Chula, Mo., Mrs. Givens was a graduate of Midwestern University, Wichita Falls, Texas, and the New Mexico Junior College School of Nursing. She worked as a licensed practical nurse.
In 1944, she married Noel S. Givens. He died in 1978.
Mrs. Givens also was preceded in death by her parents, Milford and Leta Ashman.
Surviving: a son, Gary, Port Isabel, Texas; and two grandchildren.
