GASTON
William Eugene (Gene) Gaston, age 64, of Bogard, Missouri, died December 30, 1998, at his home.
He was born January 4, 1934, in Wayne County, Illinois, the son of Alfred and Gertrude Sellers Gaston. He attended school in Wayne County.
He worked as a truck driver for Con Agra Foods in Marshall, Missouri. He served one term as mayor of Bogard and was a volunteer fireman. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and Lions Club for several years. He was a Baptist.
On August 16, 1952, he was married to Helen Hood in Wayne County. She survives at the home.
Other survivors include three daughters, Sandra Dunbar, Chillicothe, Illinois, Sharon Laughlin, Deep Run, North Carolina, and Ginny Rodenberg, Bogard; a sister, Janet Shelby, Fairfield, Illinois; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a son, Charles Eugene Gaston.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Friday, January 1, 1999, at the Gibson Funeral Home in Carrollton.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Thursday, December 31, 1998, at the funeral home.
Cremation
FISCHER
Henry T. Fischer, age 101, of rural Carrollton, Missouri, died December 22, 1998, at the Carroll County Memorial Hospital.
He was born September 13, 1897, in Carroll County, Missouri, the son of Andrew and Elizabeth Ganz Fischer. He attended the Mayview Country School and the Lutheran School.
He was a farmer.
He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Carrollton.
On October 28, 1919, he was married to Cora Christmas in Kansas City, Missouri. She preceded him in death on August 28, 1976.
Survivors include a daughter, Kathryn Leakey, Carrollton; four grandchildren and eight-great- grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., December 24, 1998, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Carrollton, conducted by Pastor Eric Swyres. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Carrollton.
Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M., before service time at the church.
The family suggests contributions to the Lutheran Radio Fund in memory of Mr. Fischer.
HARDWICK
Virginia Josephine Hardwick, age 76, of Carrollton, died December 21, 1998, at the Carrollton Nursing Center.
She was born December 21, 1922, in Chillicothe, Missouri, the daughter of Jesse and Jessie Rolls Brouhard. She attended county schools.
She operated Hardwick Taxi service for a number of years and retired from the Marshall State School.
She was a member of the First Christian Church of Carrollton.
Survivors include two daughters, Josephine Ruth Hardwick and Carolyn Joan Nickolson, both of Carrollton; two sons, Todd Hardwick, Wasila, Alaska, and Bob Hardwick, Odessa, Missouri; three sisters and two brothers, fourteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jewell Monroe Hardwick, and a step-son, Jewell Gene Hardwick.
DILLEY
Walter E. Dilley, age 85, of Carrollton, Missouri, died December 19, 1998, at the Carroll County Memorial Hospital.
He was born October 28, 1913, in Arkinda (Little River) Arkansas. He grew up in DeWitt and attended schools there and also attended Chillicothe Business College. He retired as a railway mail clerk with the postal service in Kansas City.
He was a member of the DeWitt, Kansas City and Carrollton Christian Churches.
On June 24, 1937, he was married to Elizabeth Jenkins in Moberly, Missouri. She survives at the home.
Other survivors include two sisters, Mildred Schultze, San Jose, California, and Freda May Earnshaw, Gardner, Kansas; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.
Funeral services were conducted by Reverend Joe Barone at 2:00 P.M., Monday, December 21, 1998, at the Gibson Funeral Home in Carrollton, Missouri. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, DeWitt, Missouri.
The family suggests contributions to the First Christian Church, the American Heart Association or the Diabetes Association in memory of Mr. Dilley. They may be left at or mailed to the Gibson Funeral Home in Carrollton.
STEVENS
Harris Thomas (Tom) Stevens, age 86, of Carrollton, Missouri, died December 12, 1998, at the Carrollton Nursing Center.
He was born April 13, 1912, in Dalton, Missouri, the son of Charles C. and Mary Coleman Stevens. He attended the Walnut Grove Schools at Wakenda and Dalton, Missouri.
He was a rigger and iron worker for several construction companies.
He was a member of the Carrollton Church of Christ.
He was first married to Treva Lucinda Stebbins. She preceded him in death in 1979.
In December of 1979, he was married to Angie Lautenschlager. She survives at the home.
Other survivors include a daughter, Gwendolyn Greenwald, Greenville, South Carolina; a step- daughter, Iona Phillips, Fulton, New York; a sister, Trosy Steed, El Dorado, Kansas; seven grandchildren, one great-grandson.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, December 16, 1998, at the Gibson Funeral Home in Carrollton, Missouri, conducted by Evangelist William Hensley. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Carrollton.
Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.
The family suggests contributions to the Carrollton Church of Christ in memory of Mr. Stevens.
STORM
Bosworth, Missouri resident, 84 year old, Dorothy Catherine Storm, passed away Friday, Dec A ember 11, 1998, at the Life Care Center, Brookfield, Missouri.
Dorothy was born August 4, 1914 in Carroll County, Missouri; the daughter of Elmer and Sarah Bell Wooden Watts. She attended rural school and retired from Banquet Foods.
On November 27, 1931 she was married to Leslie G. Storm in Keytesville, Missouri; he survives at the home.
She will be remembered for her many loving acts: she would prepare large Thanksgiving Dinners and deliver them to the shut-ins in Bosworth, she was excellent about caring for family and loved ones in and near Bosworth including L.G.'s sisters and sisters-in-law, and she was well liked by the children in the neighborhood furnishing them with cookies, candy, and softdrinks.
Survivors include several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Leslie Gallatin (Brownie) Storm, Jr., five brothers, Ernest Andrew, Wilbur Franklin, Ralph Hampton, Harold LeRoy, and Elmer Gordon; and two sisters, Lois Ellen Cain and Maza Maud Davis.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, December 14, 1998 by the Reverend Lanny Lybarger at the Gibson Funeral Home in Bosworth, Missouri. Burial was in the Wharton Cemetery, Bosworth, Missouri.
The family suggests contributions to the Wharton Cemetery in memory of Mrs. Storm and they may be mailed to or left at the Gibson Funeral Home, 201 South Main, Carrollton, MO 64633 .
WILSON
William Girvan Wilson, age 63, of rural Carrollton, Missouri, died December 5, 1998, at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri.
He was born November 26, 1935, in Ayr, Scotland, the son of William Sharp and Jean Girvan Wilson. He graduated from San Pedro California High School and Los Angeles Harbor College with an Associate Degree. He served in the U S Army during the Korean Conflict.
He immigrated to the United States at age 17 and worked as a senior planning technician with the Southern California Gas Company. He was also a published writer and artist.
He was a Baptist and a member of the BPOE. He held various offices in the San Pedro Bobby Sox Softball League.
On January 1, 1960, he was married to Patsy Ann Stewart in San Pedro. She survives at the home.
Other survivors include two daughters, Ginger Kay Hughes and Lori Ann Wilson, both of Marshall, Missouri; two brothers, Daniel Wilson, Paw-Paw, Michigan, and Stuart Wilson, San Pedro, one granddaughter, Jennifer Lynn Hughes, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
