Mrs. Oletha Gail Walker Jacobs McNutt, 92, of Marshall, Missouri passed away Sunday, July 28, 2002, at the Fitzgibbon Hospital, Marshall, Missouri.
Oletha was born October 22, 1909 near Gifford, Missouri; the daughter of Amos and Oza Hollcroft Walker.
She attended schools in Gifford, Missouri.
On November 10, 1930 she was married to Jessie Pearl Jacobs; he preceded her in death.
Oletha was a florist from 1966 until her retirement in 1998. She had lived in Mendon, Missouri for twenty-seven years before marrying Mac and moving to Marshall, Missouri. Oletha was a member of the Marshall Christian Church.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Maxine Jacobs, Triplett, Missouri; three grandchildren, Donna Kay Jacobs, Peoria, Arizona, Lynda Darlene Jacobs, Independence, Missouri; and Daryl Jacobs and his wife of Mendon, Missouri; two great grandsons, Galen Kirk and his wife of Sun City, Arizona and Jerrod Jacobs and his wife, Brookfield, Missouri; three great great grandchildren; two nephews, Ron King and his wife, Kapowsin, Washington and Lavon Slaughter and his wife, State of California; and several great nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by one son, Olin P. Jacobs on March 4, 2000 and one sister, Buelah Hammons.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 31, 2002, at the Gibson Funeral Home in Mendon, Missouri with Gail Brown officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00-1:45, Wednesday, prior to the service. Burial will be in the Parklawn Cemetery, Brookfield, Missouri.

Richard W. Johnson, age 59, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2002 at his home in Carrollton, Missouri.
He was born November 12, 1942 in Carroll County, Missouri, the son of Ernest Clifton and Helen Genevieve Giles Johnson. He attended schools in Norborne, Missouri and graduated from Norborne High School in 1960. He had worked as a carpenter in Carrollton and the surrounding area. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Carrollton, Missouri.
On July 2, 1962, he married Sammie Griffith in Norborne, Missouri. She survives at the home.
Other survivors include one daughter; Tammy Cockrum, Carrollton, Missouri; one son, Randy Johnson and his wife, Amy, Carrollton, Missouri; one brother, David Johnson, Norborne, Missouri; four grandchildren, Mike Cockrum, Lisa Cockrum, Kaylie Johnson and Jacie Johnson, all of Carrollton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jimmy Johnson and Larry Johnson; three grandchildren, Eric Randall, Erica Wren, and Haley Charise Johnson.
Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 3, 2002 at Carroll Memory Gardens, Carrollton, Missouri, with Pastor Eric Swyres officiating.
Visitation will be 7-8:30 p.m., Friday, August 2, 2002 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri.

James Earl George, age 62, of Carrollton, Missouri passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2002 at Carroll County Memorial Hospital, Carrollton, Missouri.
He was born May 13, 1940 in Carrollton, Missouri, the son of Earl and Elizabeth Willis George. He attended Carrollton Grade Schools and graduated from Carrollton High School. He was a United States Army Veteran. He was a farmer and had been Parts Manager for Massey-Ferguson and John Deere for over forty years. He was a lifelong member of the First Christian Church, Carrollton , Missouri, where he had served as a Deacon for many years; a board member of Trotter Township; Wakanda Lodge #52 AF & AM; Carroll County Shrine Club, Ararat Temple, Kansas City, Missouri; and a Republican Committeeman for many years.
On May 27, 1963 he married Donna Sue Stephens in Lexington, Missouri. She survives at the home.
Other survivors include one son, Brian George, Carrollton, Missouri; one daughter, Elizabeth Cook and husband, Stephen, Overland Park, Kansas; three grandchildren, Chelsea Raine, Abigail Cook and Lauren Cook.
He was also preceded in death by his parents and one brother in infancy.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 5, 2002 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri with Reverend Joe Barone officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery, Carrollton, Missouri.
Visitation was Sunday, August 4, 2002 from 7-8:00 p.m., with a Masonic Service at 8:00 p.m.

Levere Thomas Wampler, 79, of rural Avalon, Missouri in Livingston County, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2002 at Indian Hills Nursing Home, Chillicothe, Missouri.
He had battled Alzheimers for ten years, spending the last sixteen months at Indian Hills with his wife, Dora, spending each day at his bedside. His courageous battle to maintain his independence and dignity was displayed daily and gained the affection and respect of the health care staff attending to him.
Levere was born June 18, 1923 at Mandeville, Missouri in Carroll County to Orville James and Vernona Parkins Wampler. His adolescent years were spent assisting his parents and siblings tending to the business of the family owned General Store in Mandeville; and helping with the family's agricultural interests.
He was baptized at an early age into the Mandeville Methodist Church and later in life was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Norborne, Missouri in Carroll County. He was a member of Saint John's Lutheran Church, Chillicothe, Missouri.
He attended elementary school in Mandeville and later attended the Norborne Public Schools where he met his future wife, Dora Rueter.
Levere and Dora were married in Norborne, Missouri in 1944 and began their fifty-eight year journey together on a farm near Mandeville. Levere pursued the occupation of farming for most of his adult life in the Mandeville, Tina-Avalon area. The last ten years of his working career was spent with the Missouri Department of Transportation until health problems forced him to retire.
Levere was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Jenny, two infant children, Judith Kay in 1945, Jerry Thomas in 1948; and daughter, Shelia, in 1997.
He is survived by his wife; one son, Jim Wampler and wife, Sharon; grandson Derk Wampler and wife, Shelli; granddaughter Sherrece Wampler, all of Higginsville, Missouri; granddaughter Holly Ellerman and husband, Chris, Lee's Summit, Missouri; granddaughter Katie Linville and husband, David, Fort Hood, Texas; four great grandchildren; twin brother, Levern Wampler; sister, Ruth Issacs, both of Carrollton, Missouri; a sister, Dorothy Skiles, Sequin, Washington; a brother, Richard Wampler, Lubbock, Texas.
Levere's gentle nature, kindness to others, zest for humor, loyalty to friendship and dedication to family will be missed but not lost. These qualities of his life that he displayed daily will continue to be examples for family and friends to follow in the days ahead.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 7, 2002 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Norborne, Missouri with Pastor Paul Knittle officiating. Burial was in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Norborne, Missouri.
Visitation will be from 7-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 6, 2002 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri.

Harold Westley "Pat" Newham, a Norborne, Missouri resident, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2002 at Carrollton Nursing Center, Carrollton, Missouri.
He was born January 31, 1906 in the Rockingham area near Norborne, Missouri, the son of David W. and Willie V. McQueen Newham. He was a longshoreman in Oregon for several years before returning to Norborne, where he farmed until he retired in 1976. He was a member of the Methodist Church, Norborne, Missouri.
On February 10, 1940 he married Dorothy Webb of the Sugar Tree community and moved to a farm north of Norborne in 1944. Pat and Dorothy moved to town when Dorothy's health began to decline. Pat was a devoted husband and father. When Dorothy entered the nursing home, Pat traveled everyday to be with her. Dorothy preceded Pat in death in 1995.
Pat is survived by one son, Terry Newham and wife, Elaine, Norborne, Missouri; two daughters, Sue Wagaman and husband, Gayle, Altamonte Springs, Florida; Kay Newham, Columbia, Missouri; ten grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
Pat was also preceded in death by his parents; one son, Larry Newham; and a great grandson, Cameron Ward.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, August 8, 2002 at Gibson Funeral Home, Norborne, Missouri with Reverend Bob Payne officiating. Burial will be in Fairhaven Cemetery, Norborne, Missouri. Mr. Newham will lie in state Thursday morning from 8:30 a.m. until service time. The family suggests contributions be made to the Special Olympics in memory of Mr. Newham. They may be mailed to or left at Gibson Funeral Home, 201 S Main, Carrollton MO 64633.
Myrtis Arp, age 92, of Keytesville, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2002 at her daughter's home in rural Keytesville.
She was born September 17, 1910 in Brunswick, Missouri the daughter of William (Sam) and Lula Roberts Riley. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Brunswick, Missouri; the Lutheran Womens Missionary League; the Merry-Mixers Club at Indian Grove, Missouri. She was a housewife and mother.
On February 2, 1931 she married William Herbert Arp in Sedalia, Missouri. He preceded her in death on April 14, 1996.
Survivors include five sons; Marvin Arp, Brunswick, Missouri, Arnold Arp, Kansas City, Missouri, Clifford Arp, Moberly, Missouri, Herschell Arp, Independence, Missouri, Norman Arp, Independence, Missouri; one daughter, Treva Friesz, Keytesville, Missouri; one brother, Estin Riley, Las Vegas, Nevada; one sister, Marjorie Garner, Independence, Missouri; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Leonard Arp; and one grandson, Steven.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 8, 2002 at Gibson Funeral Home, Brunswick, Missouri with Pastor Glen Drewitz officiating. Burial will be in Elliott Grove Cemetery, Brunswick, Missouri. She will lie in state on Wednesday, August 7, 2002 from 1-5:00 p.m. The family suggests contributions to St. John's Lutheran Church, Brunswick, Missouri in memory of Mrs. Arp. Wanda Sue Bell, of Carrollton, Missouri, a former Arizona resident, age 50, passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2002 at the Carrollton Nursing Center, Carrollton, Missouri.
She was born March 11, 1952 in Carrollton, Missouri, the daughter of William Lee Bell, Jr. and Barbara Carol Brown Veach. She attended Carrollton Grade Schools and graduated from Liberty High School, Liberty, Missouri. She was a member of the Church of Christ, Carrollton, Missouri.
Survivors include one sister; Cindy Gassen, Higginsville, Missouri; one brother, Rick Bell, Liberty, Missouri; her paternal grandmother, Mable Bell Laycock; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Faye Brown; her maternal grandfather; paternal grandfather; and several cousins, aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m., Friday, August 9, 2002 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri with Pastor Robert V. Bell officiating. Burial will be in Fairhaven Cemetery, Norborne, Missouri.
Visitation will be 7-8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 8, 2002 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri.

Cecil LeRoy Winfrey, age 57, of Carrollton, Missouri passed away Sunday, August 11, 2002 at his home as a result of cancer.
Cecil was born February 26, 1945 in Jacksonville, Florida, the son of Jewell and Vera Jacoby Winfrey. He lived in Bogard and Carrollton all his life. Cecil attended Bogard and Carrollton Schools, graduating from Carrollton High School in 1964. Over the years, he worked as a cook at Bryant Restaurant; worked twelve years for Banner Biscuit Company as a work foreman. Since 1973, he has been a self-employed Painting Contractor. Cecil was a United States Army Vietnam Veteran E-5 Sargent serving in Saigon. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Pence-Lovell-England Post #1773, Carrollton, Missouri. He was Post Commander in 1972-73. He was an assistant Scout Master for Troop 800 Boy Scouts for fifteen years; member of Bogard Baptist Church; and an avid hunter and fisherman.
On April 16, 1966 he married Suetta Jean Bailey at the Baptist Church in Brunswick, Missouri. She survives at the home.
Other survivors include one son, Web D. Winfrey and wife, Renita, Blackburn, Missouri; three grandchildren, Trey, Ashten, and Taylor; his mother, Vera Winfrey, Huntsville, Missouri; step mother, Mildred Winfrey, Kansas City, Kansas; two brothers, Jewell Dean Winfrey, Keytesville, Missouri, Charles L. Winfrey, Quincy, Illinois; one sister, Loraine VanSteenburgh, Houstonia, Missouri; one uncle, Donald Jacoby, Bogard, Missouri; one aunt, Jenearl Frances, Norborne, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jewell Winfrey.
Funeral services were Wednesday, August 14, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. at the Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri with Reverend Lee Borders officiating. Burial was in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, Missouri; with Military Honors provided by Veterans of Foreign Wars Pence-Lovell-England Post #1773, Carrollton, Missouri.
Visitation was Tuesday, August 13, 2002 from 7-8:00 p.m. at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri.

Elfreda Raasch Drehle, 89, of Higginsville, MO, and formerly of Norborne, MO died on Friday, August 9, 2002 at the Research Hospital in Kansas City, MO.
She was born on April 12, 1913 at DeWitt, MO the daughter of August and Julia Ertman
Raasch.
She attended Crispin Grade School and Carrollton High School and was a graduate of the Warrensburg Teachers College.
She married Rudolph Drehle on October 23, 1938 at the Lutheran Church in Norborne, MO He preceded her in death on January 3, 2001
She had been a Rural School Teacher and was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Higginsville, MO.
She is survived by one son; Gerald Ray Drehle and his wife Kim of Norborne, MO,
one Daughter-In-Law; Martha Drehle of Norborne, MO one sister; Olga Gibson of Carrollton, MO and six grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, two sisters and one son;
Larry W. Drehle.
Funeral services will be held at the Trinity Lutheran Church at Norborne, MO on Monday, August 12, 2002 at 10:00 A.M. Pastor Mark Jauss and Pastor Kim Scharff officiating.
Visitation will be from 9:00 - 10:00 A.M. on Monday at the Church.
Burial will be held in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery at Norborne, MO.

Delorise M. Hill White, age 80, of Carrollton, Missouri passed away Sunday, August 11, 2002 at her home.
She was born July 5, 1922 in Kansas City, Kansas the daughter of Lee Hill and Esther Honeysucker. She graduated from high school in Kansas City, Kansas. She had worked as a case printer for Banquet Foods in Carrollton, Missouri and most recently worked at the Carrollton Vocational Technical School. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church of Lexington, Missouri for eleven years and served in the following offices: Activity Coordinator of the Ministers Wives and Deaconess, Instructor of Women's Missionary Union of 2nd Baptist Church, member of the Adult Sunday School class, President of Women's Missionary Union, President of Minister's Wives and Deaconess, Secretary of Mother Board, and Secretary of Minister's Wives and Deaconess. She also served in the following offices in the Central District Missionary Baptist Association: 2nd Vice President and Instructor of CDMU, Treasurer of Support Fund, Recording Secretary, Choir Member of CDWMU Chorus, and Campus Cook for the Congress of Christian Education. She also provided donations that helped children go to camp. She married John L. (Sonny) White on April 6, 1974 in Kansas City, Missouri and he preceded her in death on December 24, 1989. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, James Trigg; one daughter, Margaret Trigg; three brothers, Calvin Hill, Leon Hill and Carl Hill; two sisters, Evelyn Locke and Oretha Jackson; and one grandson, Tony Trigg. She is survived by three daughters, Barbara (Lester) Ransburg, Kansas City, Missouri, Janice Trigg, St. Louis, Missouri, Evelyn Trigg, Lexington, Missouri; four sisters, Geraldine Anderson, Saginaw, Michigan, Hattie Meadows, Kansas City, Missouri, Velma Jones, Washington, D.C., Barbara Brown, Saginaw, Michigan; two brothers, Robert (Connie) Hill, Sterling Hill, both of Kansas City, Kansas; thirteen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Graveside services were at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, August 15, 2002 at Carroll Memory Gardens, Carrollton, Missouri, with Reverend Everett W. Hannon, Jr. officiating.
