John Edward Zuerl, age 80, of Brunswick, Missouri passed away Thursday, November 7, 2002 near Brunswick, Missouri. He was born September 21, 1922 in Chariton County, Missouri the son of John H. and Ursula F. Meyer Zuerl. He graduated from Brunswick High School and earned a Bachelor Degree from the University of Missouri in 1942. On July 30, 1952 he married Nadine D. Doss in Harrison, Arkansas. She preceded him in death on September 2, 1988. He farmed his entire life. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Brunswick, Missouri; and an active member of the Brunswick Senior Center. He is survived by two daughters, Carol Owings, DeWitt, Missouri and Patty Straub, Brunswick, Missouri; one sister, Jean Penninton, Keytesville, Missouri; two grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Donald. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 13, 2002 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Brunswick, Missouri with Pastor Glen Drewitz officiating. Virlea Goe, age 90, of Brunswick, Missouri passed away Saturday, November 9, 2002 at the Brunswick Nursing Home, Brunswick, Missouri. She was born September 24, 1912 in Keytesville, Missouri the daughter of William Franklin and Minnie Job Johnson. She graduated from Keytesville High School. On May 18, 1958 she married Granvil Goe in Brunswick, Missouri. He preceded her in death on January 24, 1996. She was a house wife and home maker. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Brunswick, Missouri; and the American Legion Auxiliary Post #7. She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Blunk and husband, Bill, Brunswick, Missouri; Doris "Cookie" Steiman, Triplett, Missouri; six grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, three sisters and two brothers. Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 12, 2002 at 2:00 p.m., at the United Methodist Church, Brunswick, Missouri with Reverend Phyllis Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Elliott Grove Cemetery, Brunswick, Missouri. Visitation will be from 1-2:00 p.m., before the service. Virgil Lee Reiter, age 74, of Carrollton, Missouri passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2002 at Carrollton Nursing Center, Carrollton, Missouri.
He was born December 13, 1927 in Carroll County, Missouri, the son of Henry and Katie Bruemmer Reiter.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Norborne, Missouri.
He is survived by one brother, Leonard Reiter, Chillicothe, Missouri; one sister, Evelyn Marie Weisz, Norborne, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Russell Reiter.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, November 14, 2002 at Gibson Funeral Home, Norborne, Missouri with Pastor Kim Scharff officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Norborne, Missouri.

James Allen (Jim) Pierson, age 55, of Carrollton, Missouri passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2002 at Carroll County Memorial Hospital, Carrollton, Missouri.
He was born May 31, 1947 in Norborne, Missouri the son of Ross and Audrey Winfrey Pierson.
On December 12, 1969 he married Carole Ann Heil at Trinity Lutheran Church, Norborne, Missouri, by Reverend Edgar Preiss. She survives at the home. Jim graduated from Norborne High School; was a farmer and recently purchased and operated J-B Steakhouse in Carrollton, Missouri with his son Brian. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Norborne, Missouri; played Mens Fast Pitch Softball for many years; was active in Little League Baseball and CEMO League from 1983 until 1990; winning state tournaments six times; and coached Small Fry Wrestling. He coached Girls 18 and Under ASA Fast Pitch Softball from 1990 until 2000. Many local young women, and others from surrounding counties, were proud to play for Jim. His proudest accomplishment, in addition to countless wins, was the fact that twenty-one of them received scholarships to play for various colleges and universities.
He is also survived by two sons, Brian Joel Pierson and wife, Jill, Carrollton, Missouri, Justin Scott Pierson and wife, Tiffany, Carrollton, Missouri; two daughters, Jamie Renee Pierson, Kansas City, Missouri, Emilie Anne Pierson, Overland Park, Kansas; his mother, Audrey Pierson, Norborne, Missouri, two brothers, Ron Pierson and wife, Dotti, Richmond, Missouri, Rick Pierson and wife, Elizabeth, Norborne, Missouri; tthree grandchildren, Brett Ryan, Peyton James and Shelby Nicole, all of Carrollton, Missouri; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ross Pierson.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 15, 2002 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri with Pastor Eric Swyres officiating. Burial will be in Fairhaven Cemetery, Norborne, Missouri.
Visitation will be from 6:30-8:30 p.m., Thursday, November 14, 2002 at the funeral home.

Johnny Peck, age 77, of Carrollton, Missouri passed away Thursday, November 14, 2002 at Carrollton Nursing Center, Carrollton, Missouri.
He was born February 27, 1925 in Carrollton, Missouri the son of William and Verna Mae Bingham Peck. He attended country schools. He worked as a farm hand.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Charlie.
Graveside services were at 1:00 p.m., Monday, November 18, 2002 at Oak Hill Cemetery, Carrollton, Missouri.
William L. Barr, age 75, of Carrollton, Missouri passed away Saturday, November 16, 2002 at Liberty Hospital, Liberty, Missouri.
He was born September 23, 1927 in Sedalia, Missouri the son of Howard and Nadine Devine Barr. He attended Kansas City, Missouri schools.
William married Dorothy M. Myler in 1964. She preceded him in death. He was a painter in Kansas City, Missouri and Carrollton. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Pence-Lovell-England Post #1773 in Carrollton, Missouri.
He is survived by one son; one daughter; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Lester and Reva Standley, Carrollton, Missouri.
He was also preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Robert and James Barr.
Military Graveside services were at 3:00 p.m., Monday, November 18, 2002 at Oak Hill Cemetery with Reverend Bert Hughes officiating. Military honors were conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Pence-Lovell-England Post #1773, Carrollton, Missouri.
Wilma L. Heil, age 90, formerly of Norborne, Missouri, passed away November 18, 2002 at Meyer Care Center, Higginsville, Missouri.
Wilma was born January 15, 1912 the daughter of Ralph L. and Nettie Collier Rhodes, near Rockingham, in Ray County, Missouri. She graduated from Central High School in the same community. She married Harold E. Heil February 24, 1937 and they operated a farm together near Norborne for thirty-nine years.
Harold preceded her in death December 25, 1977. She was also preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Ruth Anna Clark, Mary Lou Sidden and Ida Grace Rhodes.
She is survived by one daughter, Sharon Telgemeier and husband, Ken, Lexington, Missouri; a brother, Floyd Rhodes, Raytown, Missouri; two grandsons, Jim Deitch and wife, Amy; and Clint Deitch. Also surviving are three step grandchildren, Duane Telgemeier and wife, Susan, Debbie Dodge and husband, Todd, Dean Telgemeier and wife, Nadine; and five step great grandchildren.
Wilma was a member of the Richmond Christian Chapel.
Funeral services were at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 21, 2002 at Gibson Funeral Home, Norborne, Missouri with Reverend Dave Donaldson officiating. Burial was in Fairhaven Cemetery, Norborne, Missouri.
Visitation was from 1-2:00 p.m., before the service.

Mildred M. Foy Hamilton, age 90, of Norborne, Missouri passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2002 at Carroll County Memorial Hospital, Carrollton, Missouri.
She was born July 11, 1912 in Dwight, Kansas the daughter of Lloyd and Grace Foy. She attended Dwight, Kansas schools.
On February 10, 1929 she married Edward (Pat) Hamilton in Carrollton, Missouri. He survives at the home. She was a housewife and mother. Mildred was a member of the First Baptist Church, Norborne, Missouri. She is also survived by one son, Edward Lee Hamilton, Knob Noster, Missouri; four daughters, Bonnie Varnell, Independence, Missouri, Betty Barker, Independence, Missouri, Judy Atkinson, Woodlake, California, Glenda DePugh, St. Joseph, Missouri; one sister, Emma Curry, Midland, Texas; one half sister, Louella; thirty-one grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers and three sisters.

Roy Winfrey, Sr., age 64, of Carrollton, Missouri passed away Thursday, November 14, 2002 at Carrollton Nursing Center, Carrollton, Missouri. Roy was born February 3, 1938 in DeWitt, Missouri. Survivors include his mother, Marie Polson; one son, Roy Winfrey, Jr.; grandchildren, Katelyn Kays, and Addison Winfrey; step children, Trisha Powell, Debra Christian, and Larry Bratcher, and sisters, Fern Roe and Jeannie Karnes. Memorial services were conducted Monday, November 18, 2002 at the Fort Osage Church of the Nazarene, 19333 E. 24 Highway, Independence, Missouri.
Marguerite Cecelia Moore, age 90 , of Carrollton, Missouri passed away Monday, November 25, 2002 at Carrollton Nursing Center, Carrollton, Missouri.
She was born June 19, 1912 in Henryetta, Oklahoma the daughter of John A. and Ida Rosetta Evans Tyrell.
She was married to Harry E. Moore on March 31, 1932.
She is survived by one daughter, Barbara Loraine Scheible and husband, Roy William Scheible, Norborne, Missouri; step brother, Bill Tyrell, Aurora, Colorado; step sister, Avis Ricci, Chandler, Arizona; grandchildren, Dan Scheible and wife Victoria, Joplin, Missouri, Cheryl Newham and husband Douglas Newham, Richmond, Missouri, R. Kent Scheible and wife Tammy, Kansas City, Missouri; great grandchildren, Kelly Howard, Kansas City, Missouri, Kyle Newham, Boonville, Missouri, Will, Joshua and Zachary Scheible, Kansas City, Missouri, Kelly Picco and husband Marc Poston, Columbia, Missouri, Shan Picco, Breckenridge, Colorado; niece, Norma Jean Higginbottham, Carrollton, Missouri
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Moore; grandson, David Scheible; brother, Loren H. Evans; step brother, Harry Tyrell; as well as her parents.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Carrollton and the Eastern Star. She had been a cook at several restaurants in Carrollton; and at the Carrollton Hospital. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She had been a resident of the Carrollton Nursing Center.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 30, 2002 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri with Reverend Jeff Maxwell officiating. Burial will be in Carroll Memory Gardens, Carrollton, Missouri.
Mrs. Moore will lie in state Friday, November 29, 2002 until 8:00 p.m., and Saturday until service time.
