Maurice Lee Nelson, age 73, of Carrollton, Missouri passed away Monday, January 20, 2003 at his home.
He was born October 20, 1929 in Westboro, Missouri, the son of Lee Nels and Dora Mae Howard Nelson. He attended North Polk Country School and graduated from Tarkio High School in 1947. Maurice attended Northwest Missouri State College and Northeast Missouri State College. He served in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict.
On December 26, 1952 he married Barbara Riggle at the Methodist Church in Maryville, Missouri. She survives at the home.
Maurice taught High School science in Leon, Iowa; served as High School Principal in Hopkins, Missouri, Hamilton, Missouri; and Maryville, Missouri; was the Extension Agent in Carrollton, Missouri from 1966 until 1972 when he became the Principal in the Carrollton School District until he retired in 1992. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Carrollton, Missouri, where he had served on the Board of Elders. Maurice had been a member of the Carrollton School Board, Carrollton Housing Authority Board, Planning & Zoning Board, Carroll County Fair Board; and the board of Carroll County Trust Company Bank. He was a member of Kiwanis; and an Honorary Warrior of The Tribe of Mic-O-Say of Pony Express Council, Boy Scouts of America.
In addition to his wife, Barbara, Maurice is also survived by one son, Michael Nelson and wife, Susan, Wathena, Kansas; two daughters, Janice Marxhausen and husband, Karl, Carrollton, Missouri, Denise Anderson and husband, Greg, Carrollton, Missouri; five sisters, Lyllis Vette, Westboro, Missouri, Marjorie Fetterer, Carroll, Iowa, Mildred Hurst and husband, Charlie, Tarkio, Missouri, Mary Ann Ohrt and husband, Paul, Westboro, Missouri, Debbie Martin and husband, Charlie, Tarkio, Missouri; one brother, Larry Nelson and wife, Linda, Warsaw, Missouri; five grandchildren, Amos Nelson, Issaquah, Washington, Seth and Mary Beth Nelson, Wathena, Kansas; Lauren and Sean Anderson, Carrollton, Missouri; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Kenneth H. Nelson, Westboro, Missouri.
Funeral services were at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 23, 2003 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Carrollton, Missouri with Reverend Eric Swyres officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery, Carrollton, Missouri. Military graveside services were conducted by Veterans Of Foreign Wars Pence-Lovell-England Post #1773, Carrollton, Missouri.
Visitation was from 7:00-8:30 p.m., Wednesday, January 22, 2003 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri.

Terry Lee Inman, Sr., age 49, of Grand Pass, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2003 at Boone Hospital Center, Columbia, Missouri.
He was born July 14, 1953 in Kansas City, Missouri the son of Lee Joseph and Lottie Ellen Heflin Inman. He attended schools in California, Missouri.
On March 11, 1994, Terry married Ellen Marie Fletcher in Liberty, Missouri. She survives at the home.
Terry was employed with Central Missouri Agri Services in Marshall, Missouri.
In addition to his wife, Ellen, he is survived by five children; Richard David Martin, Marshall, Missouri, Teresa Lynette Martin, Grand Pass, Missouri, Dawn Marie Martin, Waverly, Missouri, Terry Lee Inman, Jr., Excelsior Springs, Missouri, Bobby Jo Denny, Excelsior Springs, Missouri; one brother, Lloyd Williams, Gladstone, Missouri; one sister, Sharon George, Carrollton, Missouri; five granddaughters; and four grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Duane Lee Martin.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m., Friday, January 24, 2003 at the Assembly of God Church, Waverly, Missouri with Reverend Marvin Kindle and Reverend John Selleck officiating. Burial will be in Waverly Cemetery, Waverly, Missouri.
Visitation will be from 12:30 until service time at the church.

Shawn Cass Blankenship, age 30, of Tina, Missouri, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2003 at Liberty Hospital, Liberty, Missouri.
He was born March 9, 1972 in Chillicothe, Missouri.
He is survived by his father, Larry Blankenship, Carrollton, Missouri; his mother, Phyllis Ann Walker Blankenship, Meadville, Missouri; his maternal grandmother, Lois Walker, Tina, Missouri, uncle, Larry Walker, Tina, Missouri and several half brothers and sisters.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Eldon Walker; paternal grandparents, Roy and Lorrine Blankenship; and one brother, Justin Blankenship.
Graveside services were at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, February 1, 2003 at Van Horn Cemetery with Reverend Don Gillispie officiating.

Johnnie D. Lancaster, age 84, of Carrollton, Missouri passed away Monday, February 3, 2003 at Shirkey Leisure Acres, Richmond, Missouri.
He was born September 11, 1918 in Mendon, Missouri, the son of Benjamin and Jessie Hotschiss Lancaster. He attended Mendon grade school. He was in the United States Army Air Corp during World War II. He had worked for Oak Hill Cemetery in 1955; Lancaster Rest Home from 1958 to 1974; Marshall Funeral Home in the 1960's; Deitch Funeral Home; dispatcher for Carroll County Sheriff's Department in 1974 and worked for the City Parks Department from 1983 to 1984.
He is survived by one nephew, Charles Lancaster, Carrollton, Missouri; two nieces, Lola Miller, Carrollton, Missouri, Rosella Kovac, St. Joseph, Missouri; seven great nephews; eight great nieces; one special great great nephew; several great great nephews and nieces; and a special friend, Edith Basse.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Wilbur, Bill and Gene Lancaster; one sister, Goldie Cragg; an infant sister, Rosetta; one nephew, Guy Spencer; one niece, Evelyn Smith and one great nephew, Shawn Kovac.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 7, 2003 at Oak Hill Cemetery, Carrollton, Missouri with Reverend Bert Hughes officiating. Military Honors will be given by Veterans of Foreign Wars Pence-Lovell-England Post #1773, Carrollton, Missouri.

Sylvia LaVera Clevenger, age 81, of Carrollton, Missouri, died February 4, 2003, at Athens Regional Hospital, Athens, Georgia.
She was born July 7, 1921, in Carroll County Missouri, the daughter of Homer and Viola Elliott.
She was a housewife and loving mother and lived in the Carrollton area most of her life where she and her husband farmed. She was a member of McCroskie Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Ron Clevenger, Bogard, Missouri; Larry Clevenger, Phoenix, Arizona; and Gail Clevenger, Chillicothe, Missouri; one daughter, Kathy Hawkins, Athens, Georgia; and one brother, Gene Elliott, Utica, Missouri; fifteen grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Clevenger; her parents; two brothers, Marvin and Merrill Dean; and one son Darrell Clevenger.
Funeral services are Saturday, February 8, 2003, at 1:30 p.m. at Gibson Funeral Home in Carrollton, Missouri. Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery, Bogard, Missouri.

Leroy William (Bill) Corf, Jr., age 51, of Bosworth, Missouri, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2003 at his home.
He was born February 5, 1952 in Chillicothe, Missouri, the son of Leroy W. and Neva Wooden Corf.
He attended Bosworth schools. Bill was a farm laborer; and was an avid hunter and fisherman his entire life. He was a Baptist.
He is survived by four daughters; Tammy Wright, Pattonsburg, Missouri; Shawna Bartlett, Carrollton, Missouri; Billie O'Dell, Bosworth, Missouri; Kassie Buchko, DeWitt, Missouri; one brother, John Corf, Marshall, Missouri; three sisters, Darlene Hughes, Chillicothe, Missouri; Bonnie Sutton, Chula, Missouri; Cathy Corf, Marshall, Missouri; two granddaughters, Lauren Wright and Shelby Buchko; three grandsons, Payton Wright, Brandon and Ethan Bartlett.
He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents and one nephew, Ronnie.
Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m., Monday, February 10, 2003 at Gibson Funeral Home, Bosworth, Missouri with Fred Seba officiating. Burial was in Van Horn Cemetery, Bogard, Missouri.
Mr. Corf will lie in state from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Monday.

Allen Duane Wilkinson, 77, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Sunday, February 9, 2003, at the Carroll County Memorial Hospital, Carrollton, MO.
He was born January 9, 1926 in Carrollton, Missouri; the son of George A. and Ruth Blakley Wilkinson.
Duane attended the Trotter school and followed the occupation of farming. He also drove a school bus for the Carrollton R-VII School District for over twenty years.
On July 27, 1944 he married M. Joyce Baggs in Olathe, Kansas; she survives at the home.
Duane was a member of the Bogard Church of Christ for many years where he served as a Deacon.
He was also a longtime member of the Philidelphia Lodge # 889 of the I.O.O.F and the R.A.O. Club of Carrollton, MO.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce, of the home; one daughter, Carol Wilkinson Cowherd, Blue Springs, MO; one son, Bruce Allen Wilkinson, Plattsburg, MO; two sisters, Bonnie Wright, Carrollton, MO and Jane Carlill, Harrisonville, MO; six grandchildren, Chris Cowherd, Carrollton, MO, Kimberly Bonner, Kearney, MO, Mark Wilkinson, Overland Park, Kansas, Corey Wilkinson, Plattsburg, MO, Deric Wilkinson, Waverly, MO, and Tracy Jakobosky, Shawnee, Kansas; twelve great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Duane was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Steven Duane Wilkinson on March 10, 1999 and one brother, Ivan Wilkinson on January 19, 2000.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 12, 2003, at the Gibson Funeral Home in Carrollton, MO, with burial in the Carroll Memory Gardens, Carrollton, MO.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

Warren Wallis Henning, age 80, of Brunswick, Missouri, passed away Saturday, February 8, 2003 at the Woodbine Healthcare Center in Gladstone, Missouri. He was born on August 6, 1922 in Dalton, Missouri the son of John Wesley and Clara Kruse Henning. He graduated from Brunswick High School in 1941 and served his country during World War II as a member of the United States Army. Warren married Marjorie Rose Richardson on September 16, 1950 in Kansas City, Missouri. Marge preceded him in death on March 15, 2001. Warren had been a salesman and route man for the Brunswick Distributing Company before retiring in 1972. He was a 48 year member of the American Legion Rucker-McAllister Post #7 at Brunswick, Missouri; a member of the Brunswick Fire Department for over thirty-five years, and until his health kept him from attending, a loyal and active member of the Brunswick Wildcat Booster Club. He is survived by one daughter, Nancy Straub and her husband, Ed, Kansas City, Missouri; one sister, Alta Yeager, Columbia, Missouri; two grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was also preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and one sister. Funeral services were held at Gibson Funeral Home, Brunswick, Missouri Wednesday, February 12, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Lanny Lybarger officiating. Burial was in Elliott Grove Cemetery, Brunswick, Missouri with Military services provided by the American Legion Rucker-McAllister Post #7 of Brunswick, Missouri. Mable M. Willis Monroe, age 83, of Carrollton, Missouri passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2003 at the Carrollton Nursing Center, Carrollton, Missouri.
She was born August 13, 1919 in Ellington, Missouri, the daughter of Thomas B. R. and Myrtle D. Fox Willis. She graduated from Wakenda High School.
On August 24, 1946 she married Don Monroe in Kansas City, Kansas. He preceded her in death.
Mable had been employed as a line worker for the North American Aviation Bomber Plant and Crystal Products, Kansas City, Missouri. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Carrollton, Missouri.
Mable is survived by several sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great and great great nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Kenneth, Edwin and Lyman Willis.
Graveside services will be at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, February 15, 2003 at Oak Hill Cemetery, Carrollton, Missouri.
Visitation will be from 2:00-2:45 p.m. before the service at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri.

Isabel Uhl Bryant, age 100, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Friday, February 14, 2003, at the Carroll County Memorial Hospital.
She was born January 24, 1903 in Cameron, Missouri; the daughter of Neil W. and Grace Adams Uhl. Isabel recieved her education in Cameron and graduated from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri and taught school for several years.
Ted and Isabel Bryant were married on December 31, 1932 in Kansas City, Missouri and moved to Carrollton, MO in 1933. They created the Bryant Oil Company in Carrollton and the business operated for over fifty years. Their truck stop and restaurant on South Main Street opened in 1953 and served as a gathering place for the community for many years.
Mrs. Bryant was a longtime member of the P.E.O., was a member of Chautauqua, which later merged with Woman's Club and traveled extensively in the United States, Europe and South America. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Carrollton, a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. While raising her family, she participated in the activities of the Cub and Boy Scouts of America and was an avid Kansas City Royals and Chief's fan.
Isabel is survived by her children, Judge Robert A. Bryant and his wife, Marcia, of Carrollton, Missouri; Theodore A. Bryant and his wife, Barbara, of Denver, Colorado; Jane Bryant McNiece and her husband, Bryant, of St. Charles, Missouri; and Neil U. Bryant and his wife, Karen, of North Little Rock, Arkansas; a son-in-law, Ed Shoemaker, of Corona Del Mar, California; twelve grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and six step-great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted,; her daughter, Barbara Bryant Shoemaker, her parents, and two sisters, Helen Uhl Shutt and LaRue Uhl Gall.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 18, 2003, at the Oak Hill Cemetery, Carrollton, MO with Reverend Jeff Maxwell officiating.
The body will lie in state from 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 17th until 5:00 p.m. and after 8:00 a.m. Tuesday until service time at the Gibson Funeral Home in Carrollton, Missouri.
