Leona Augusta Kornexl Garrison, age 88, formerly of Bosworth, Missouri, passed away Monday, March 22, 2004 at the Warsaw Health Care Center in Warsaw, Missouri.
She was born November 6, 1915 in Akron, Colorado the daughter of Joseph and Grace Peters Kornexl. She attended Rockford Elementary School.
On November 7, 1938 she married Charles Leroy Garrison in Brunswick, Missouri. He preceded her in death in May of 1971. She was a housewife and mother and worked for Banquet Foods in Marshall, Missouri from 1961 to 1980 except for a brief period from 1967 to 1971 when she lived in Topeka, Kansas and worked at Seamore Food, Inc.
Leona is survived by four children; Joe Garrison, Topeka, Kansas, Rosemary McMahan, Warsaw, Missouri, Betty Saunders, Trinity, Texas and Larry Garrison, Warsaw, Missouri; ten grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren, seven step great grandchildren and three step great great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Anna Feichtner, Mary Hosl, and Katherine Holsted; and one son, Charles Leroy Garrison, Jr.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, March 27, 2004 at McCullough Cemetery, Triplett, Missouri with Pastor Jeff Maxwell officiating.
Visitation will be from 12-1:00 p.m., at Gibson Funeral Home, Bosworth, Missouri on Saturday, March 27, 2004.

Lester D. Frankum, age 76, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2004 at Carroll County Memorial Hospital, Carrollton, Missouri.
He was born October 23, 1927 in Mandeville, Missouri, the son of Jesse and Verna Wampler Frankum. He graduated from Bogard High School, Bogard, Missouri. He was in the United States Army from 1952 to 1954.
On December 9, 1962, he married Shirley Snider in Carrollton, Missouri. She survives at the home. Lester followed the occupation of farming and was a member of the Mandeville Methodist Church.
He is also survived by two sons, Doug and Mark Frankum, both of Bogard, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Melinda, Ashley, Cassie, Dylan, Kaylie, Shelby, Jordan and Dustin.
His parents, two brothers, George and James, and one grandson, Christopher, preceded him in death.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m., Monday, March 29, 2004 at Ebenezer Cemetery, Bogard, Missouri with Reverend Ken Prewitt officiating.
Mr. Frankum will lie in state Sunday, March 28, 2004 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri from 1-8:00 p.m.

Helen Astor Harker, age 91, of Carrollton, Missouri passed away Monday, March 29, 2004 at Carroll House, Carrollton, Missouri.
She was born January 28, 1913 in Carrollton, Missouri, the daughter of Will and Hattie Winfrey Nunley. She attended Carrollton schools.
She married Henry Harker and he preceded her in death. She had been employed as a cook at Bryant�s Restaurant and as a line worker at Stampers. She was a Methodist.
Helen is survived by three children, Hattie B. Collins, Carrollton, Missouri, Johnny W. Collins, Reynoldsburg, Ohio and Costello Bigby, Carrollton, Missouri; two brothers, James Nunley and Charles Winfrey, Sr., Carrollton, Missouri; one sister, Mary Anna Tanner, Detroit, Michigan; nine grandchildren, Louis Nunley, Ricky Nunley, Tammy Collins, Jonathan Collins, Tina Harker, Laurie Rice, Christopher Collins, Phillip Collins, and Felicia Collins; twenty-one great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Her parents also preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 1, 2004 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Richmond, Missouri.

Helen Katherine Griffin, age 93, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2004 at Carroll House, Carrollton, Missouri.
She was born August 21, 1910 in Carroll County, Missouri, the daughter of Warren E. and Bessie L. Henderson Forsythe. She attended Star School and graduated from Tina High School, Tina, Missouri.
On October 27, 1933, she married John Henry Griffin in Lexington, Missouri. He preceded her in death on August 15, 1984. Helen was a homemaker, wife and mother. She and John lived on a farm north of Carrollton, and in 1955 they moved to Carrollton, where they operated the Alis-Chalmer Farm Machinery dealership until they sold it in 1967. Helen was a member of the First Christian Church, Carrollton, Missouri, Victory Extension Club and was a 4-H leader for several years.
Helen is survived by one daughter, Loreita Sue Colborn and husband, Richard, Carrollton, Missouri; one sister-in-law, Helen Forsythe, Grandview, Missouri; five grandchildren, Kevin and Pam Colborn, Norborne, Missouri, Jeri and Tim Burger, Carrollton, Missouri, Curtis and Jojean Colborn, Bogard, Missouri, Teryl Colborn, St. Joseph, Missouri, Lora and Ken McKee, Oak Grove, Missouri; sixteen great grandchildren, Kevin Dale Colborn, Brian, Jennifer and Kelsey Burger, Jason, Christopher, Ryan, Eric and Adam Colborn, Brandon and Dillan Colborn, Lesley, Tracy and Jason McKee and Colby and Kaitlyn Cowherd; and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents, one sister, Eunice Forsythe and one brother, Hal Forsythe, also preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m., Friday, April 2, 2004 at the First Christian Church, Carrollton, Missouri with Reverend Joe Barone officiating. Burial will be in Carroll Memory Gardens, Carrollton, Missouri.

Bessie Mae Kuntz Leimkuehler, age 80, formerly of Brunswick, Missouri, passed away Saturday, April, 10, 2004 at the Big Bend Retreat in Slater, Missouri. She was born May 9, 1923 in Forest Green, Missouri, the daughter of John Henry and Bessie Linneman Teckemeyer. She married James E. Kuntz on May 22, 1951, he died on June 29, 1971. She later married Richard H. Leimkuehler on December 23, 1994, he died on January 14, 1999. Bessie had been a Bank Teller at the Chariton County Bank in Brunswick, Missouri until she retired. She was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church at Brunswick, Missouri. She is survived by three step sons; James R. Leimkuehler, Buffalo, New York, Donald R. Leimkuehler of Marshall, Missouri, and Keith A. Leimkuehler, Brunswick, Missouri; two step daughters, Carol J. Radtke, Springfield, Illinois, Joyce A. Blunk, Brunswick, Missouri; twelve step-grandchildren and five step great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 13, 2004 at the St. John's Lutheran Church, Brunswick, Missouri at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Glen Drewitz officiating. Randy Joe McCollum, age 48, of Mendon, Missouri and a former resident of Kansas City and Independence, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, April 13, 2004 at the Pershing Memorial Hospital in Brookfield, Missouri. Randy was born on November 13, 1955 at Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Raymond and Thelma Jean Hamilton McCollum. He was the manager of the Mendon Depot Restaurant at Mendon, Missouri. He attended the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church at rural Salisbury, Missouri near Bynumville. He was a member of the Marceline Eagles. He is survived by one daughter, Tammy Jo McCollum, Kansas City, Missouri; one son, Joseph Dale McCollum, Independence, Missouri; his father, Raymond McCollum, Mendon, Missouri; six brothers, Richard, Mark, and Kerry McCollum, Mendon, Missouri, Kenneth McCollum, Blue Springs, Missouri, Charles McCollum, Triplett, Missouri, Michael McCollum, Independence, Missouri; three sisters, Della Jean Wolfe, Independence, Missouri, Judy Lentz, Sumner, Missouri and Sherry McCollum, Liberty, Missouri. Joseph Michael Arnold, age 58, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Sunday, April 18, at the Independence Regional Hospital, Independence, Missouri.
He was born September 22, 1945 the son of Emil and Hester England Arnold.
He is survived by one brother, William Arnold and his wife, Beverly, of Independence, Missouri; one sister, Helen Thomas and brother- in- law, Donald , of Carrollton, Missouri, and one sister-in-law, Emma Arnold, of Carrollton, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by one brother John Arnold, and a brother and sister in infancy.
Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 21, 2004, at Oak Hill Cemetery, Carrollton, Missouri, with Reverend Jeff Maxwell officiating.
The body will lie in state after 10 A.M. Wednesday, at the Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri.

Larry Martin Delana, 60, of Waverly, Missouri, passed away Monday, April 19, 2004, at the Carroll County Memorial Hospital in Carrollton, MO .
Larry was born April 20, 1943 in Waverly, Missouri, the son of Martin Monroe and Leona May Hostetter Delana.
He attended school in Grand Pass, Missouri and was employed by Hick�s Brothers Tree Care for over 30 years.
Larry was married to Carolyn Jean Boehmer on August 31, 1963 at the Waverly Baptist Church, Waverly, Missouri; she survives at the home.
Larry was a member of the Waverly Baptist Church and spent a lot of time fishing and hunting.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn, of the home; three children, Angela Green and her husband Jack, Higginsville, Missouri, Amy Boland and her husband Alan, Waverly, Missouri, and Curt Delana of Excelsior Springs, Missouri; three brothers, Albert Delana, Roger Delana, and Gary Delana, all of Waverly, Missouri; and six grandchildren, Zachary and Megan, Kinsey and Kyle, and Ckylar and Kenton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one sister.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 21, 2004, at the Waverly Baptist Church, Waverly, Missouri, with the Reverend Mike Walker officiating.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 20, 2004, at the Gibson Funeral Home in Waverly, Missouri.

Arthur Louis Conrad Vogelsmeier, lifelong resident of Carroll County, passed away April 21, 2004 at 91 years of age. Arthur was born September 1, 1912, son of Franz Heinrich and Anna Louise Wahrenburg Vogelsmeier on a farm east of Bogard. He attended North Baker rural school, Cox School in Wakenda Township, Lutheran School in Carrollton, and graduated from the Carrollton High School in 1930.
He was married to Hazel Verlea Allomong on May 1, 1937 at her family home near Tina, Missouri. They spent the next 56 years on the Vogelsmeier family farm 6 miles southeast of Carrollton. In addition to grain farming, Arthur enjoyed raising Angus cattle. After the 1993 flood, Arthur and Verlea moved in with their son, Gary, at Canyon Estates where they resided during their final years.
As a member of a founding family of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Carrollton, he served on the Board of Elders and Board of Trustees, and also served as president of AAL and secretary and president of the Men�s Club. His community service included serving as a Wakenda Township Board member, assessor, and twelve years as tax collector. Arthur served three terms as Carroll County Farm Bureau President and served on the State Farm Bureau Board. He served nine years on the Co-op Board, was a charter member of the Carroll County Historical Society and helped build the log cabin inside our museum. For many years, Arthur was a 4-H Club project leader and supported the Cub and Boy Scouts.
Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two brothers, Otto and Henry Vogelsmeier, a son Arthur (Artie) Louis Vogelsmeier Jr., and a granddaughter, Sandra Sue Vogelsmeier. Survivors include a son, Gary Wayne Vogelsmeier of Carrollton, a daughter, Inalee Sell, her husband, John M. Sell, of Allen, Texas, a grandson, Eric Preston Sell of Tokyo, Japan, and two nieces, Virginia Ann McLaughlin and Raylene Canfield of Kansas City, Missouri.
A family visitation will be held from 7-9:00 p.m., Friday, April 23, 2004, at the Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 24, 2004 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Carrollton, Missouri.

Hugh Francis Walker, age 81, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Thursday, April 22, 2004 at Carroll House in Carrollton, Missouri.
He was born September 11, 1922 three and one half miles east of Carrollton in the Mayview Community to Hubert Walker and Pearl Emily (Thomas) Walker; and losing his father at the age of eight. He graduated from Carrollton High School in 1942.
On September 11, 1942, Hugh married Virginia Lee Keltner in Carrollton, Missouri. In 1943 he was inducted to the United States Army. His basic training was in the Military Police and trained in heavy field artillery in Fort Hood, Texas. He served under the #770 Field Artillery in the Battle of the Bulge on the Rhineland, Ardennes; in Central Europe, Normandy and seven other major battles. He returned from the service in 1945. With the exception of his time in the service, Hugh spent his entire life in Carroll County. After he returned from the service in 1945, He and Virginia owned and operated Walker Feed & Seed at 115 East Benton for thirty-five years. After that, they traveled over the State of Missouri and were self-employed in Sales, retiring the end of 2001. They were married sixty-one and a half years. Hugh was a member of the First Baptist Church, Carrollton, Missouri.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia, of the home; nephews and nieces, David Myers, Sun City, Arizona, Marcia McVey, St. Louis, Missouri, Sandra Bliss, Billingham, Washington, Jim Walker, Cassville, Missouri, Mary Ellen Walker, El Monte, California, Anna Pearl Pacquin, Carrollton, Missouri, Bettie Lee Sawatzky, Carrollton, Missouri, Jimmie Walker, Lakewood, California, Janis Walker O�Neil, Aiso-Viejo, California; cousins, Helen (Thomas) Kentworthy, Independence, Missouri, Brent Yuille, Lawrence, Kansas, Nancy Yuille, St. Louis, Missouri, Linda Marchetti, Lexington, Missouri.
Hugh was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, William (Buss) and James (Buke) Walker; one sister, Katherine Myers and a nephew, William Lee Walker, II.
Graveside services were held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, April 24, 2004 at Oak Hill Cemetery with Bert Hughes officiating.
