Lillie Lucille Miller, age 91, of Wellington, Missouri and a former Carrollton, Missouri resident passed away Friday, May 14, 2004 at Lafayette Regional Hospital, Lexington, Missouri.
She was born January 25, 1913, at Miami Station, Missouri, the daughter of Floyd and Katie Thies Harper. She attended Burrus Grade School.
On April 13, 1933 she married Elmer Miller in Carrollton, Missouri. He preceded her in death. She had worked at Dunbrook Shirt Factory in Lexington, Missouri and was a member of the United Methodist Church, Carrollton, Missouri.
Lucille is survived by one daughter, Opal Markley, Wellington, Missouri; one son, Raymond Miller; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Her parents, one son, Elmer, in infancy; two sisters, Helen Raasch and Mable Fry, one brother, Claude Harper and two grandchildren also preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be Monday, May 17, 2004 at 1:30 p.m. at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri with Reverend Lanny Lybarger officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, DeWitt, Missouri.
Visitation will be from 12:30-1:15 p.m. before the service.

Annie M. Chenoweth, 82 of Carrollton, Missouri passed away on Friday, March 14, 2004 at her home in Carrollton.
She was born May 12, 1921.
She married Robert Chenoweth in Englewood Colorado.
She was a housewife and a member of the Jehovah Witnesses.
She is survived by her husband Robert of the home.
Graveside services will be held in the Brotherton-Little Adkins Cemetery at Wakenda, MO.

Donald Wayne Thoeni, age 65, of DeWitt, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, May 15, 2004 at North Kansas City Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri. He was born July 7, 1938 in Norborne, Missouri, the son of William and Norine Heil Thoeni. He attended Norborne Lutheran School through the eighth grade and then graduated from Norborne High School in 1956. On November 24, 1961, he married Florence Nowland in Norborne, Missouri, after which they took up residence in rural DeWitt, Missouri and began farming. He was an active member in the community, serving as a member of various boards. As a young boy, Donald learned to play a variety of musical instruments including guitar and fiddle. He enjoyed playing in numerous country music bands throughout his lifetime. In addition to his wife, Florence, Donald is also survived by two children, Wayne Lee and wife Angie and Lorie Linn and husband Patrick Brownsberger; one brother, Larry Eldon Thoeni and wife Carol; three grandchildren, Rachel LeAnn, Erin Renae and Justin Wayne Thoeni and two nieces. Funeral services will be held at the St. John's Lutheran Church, Brunswick, Missouri on Wednesday, May 19, 2004 at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Glen Drewitz officiating. George Albert Smith, age 70, of Grand Pass, Missouri, passed away Monday, May 17, 2004, at his home.
He was born May 26, 1933 in Saline County, Missouri, the son of Milton Hume and Ida Ethel Drummonds Smith. He attended Grand Pass Schools.
On May 26, 1952 he married Shirley Ann Smith in Carrollton, Missouri. She survives at the home. He had been a construction laborer and was a member of the Heavy Construction Local Union #663 in Kansas City, Missouri.
George is also survived by two sons, Stephen and George Anthony Smith, both of Grand Pass, Missouri; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 19, 2004 at the Victory Christian Church, Waverly, Missouri with Reverend Jerry Curry officiating. Burial will be in Grand Pass Community Cemetery, Grand Pass, Missouri.
Mr. Smith will lie in state on Tuesday, May 18, 2004 after 2:00 p.m. at the Gibson Funeral Home, Waverly, Missouri.

RUTH C. KELLING JUNE 14, 1913, MAY 18, 2004
Ruth Carolyn Kelling was born on Flag Day, June 14, 1913, in Manchester, Iowa, daughter of Howard Commerford and Grace Horton Commerford. She graduated from Manchester High School and attended Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She married Doctor Jordan A. Kelling in 1932 while he was in the Army assigned to the Civilian Conservation Corps in that part of Iowa. Shortly after marriage, they went to St. Louis, Missouri, and Baltimore, Maryland, for Dr. Kelling's advanced medical training. They moved to Waverly in 1940, where Dr. Kelling joined the family practice. That episode was short-lived, since he was recalled to military service in 1941.
They returned to Waverly in 1947, and Ruth Kelling applied herself to the life of a rural doctor's wife. She also applied herself to Waverly activities, including the local KPMTN Club. She was president of the auxiliaries of the Missouri Medical Association and the Southern Medical Association. After Doctor Jordan's death in 1985, she remained in Waverly until 1994 when she moved to Texas. She lived in Brighton Gardens Assisted Living Facility in San Antonio for the last four years of her life.
She is survived by her son, retired Army Lieutenant Colonel George H. Kelling, daughter in law Betty Kelling, grandchildren Maj. George A. Kelling, US Marine Corps, and social worker Mary Ann Jennings. She has four great-grandchildren, Avery Elizabeth Kelling, Blake Jordan Kelling, Haley Jennings, and Ashley Jennings.
Memorial graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 3, 2004 at the family plot at Mount Nebo Cemetery, Grand Pass, Missouri with Reverend Tim Kiser officiating.

Earl L. Peetoom, age 84, of Norborne, Missouri, passed away Thursday, May 20, 2004 at Carroll House in Carrollton, Missouri.
He was born August 17, 1919, the son of Matice and Esther Anna Wilson Peetoom, in Bethany, Missouri. He graduated from Bethany High School. He was a veteran, serving in the United States Navy during World War II.
On August 6, 1943, he married Marien Manstream in Elton, Maryland. She preceded him in death on June 2, 2002.
Earl had worked in the Sheet metal, Air-conditioning and Plumbing business. He was a member of the American Legion in Norborne, Missouri.
Earl is survived by three children; Patricia A. Hawkins, Carrollton, Missouri, Herbert C. Peetoom, Tina, Missouri, Robert E. Peetoom, Norborne, Missouri; eight grandchildren and twenty-six living great grandchildren.
His parents, his wife, Marien, three brothers, two sisters and two great grandchildren preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, May 24, 2004 at Gibson Funeral Home, Norborne, Missouri with Martin Brooke officiating. Burial will be in Carroll Memory Gardens, Carrollton, Missouri. Military graveside services will be provided by Veterans of Foreign Wars Pence-Lovell-England Post #1773, Carrollton, Missouri.
Visitation will be from 7-8:30 p.m., Sunday, May 23, 2004 at Gibson Funeral Home, Norborne, Missouri.

Lewis Russell Albert, age 63, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Saturday, May 22, 2004 at Carroll County Memorial Hospital, Carrollton, Missouri.
He was born February 28, 1941 in White Rock, Missouri, the son of Clyde Logan and Lillian Geraldine Miller Albert. He graduated from Carrollton High School. He was a United States Army Veteran, serving in Vietnam as a Medical Corp Specialist 4. He had worked as a laborer in construction. He attended the Christian Church.
He was married to Florence Jean Brotherton, who preceded him in death.
Lewis is survived by his mother, Geraldine, Carrollton, Missouri; three children, Dustine Meshau, Tulsa, Oklahoma, Russanne Riggs, Hays, Kansas, Joseph Albert, of the home; five step children, Starla Bailey, Carrollton, Missouri, Dan Jones, White Rock, Missouri, Lee Jones, Camdenton, Missouri, Velma Hayes, Camdenton, Missouri, Terri Wilson, Carrollton, Missouri; one brother, Larry Albert, Carrollton, Missouri; six grandchildren and eleven step grandchildren.
His wife and father preceded him in death.

Army Specialist E4 Michael Curtis Campbell, age 34, of Waverly, Missouri, was killed Wednesday, May 19, 2004, serving his country northeast of Bagdad near Sumara, Iraq.
He was born November 15, 1969 in Shawnee Mission Kansas, the son of Kenneth C. and Audrey G. Jones Campbell. He grew up in Waverly, Missouri and attended Santa Fe Elementary School, Santa Fe High School and graduated from Saint Paul Lutheran High School in 1988. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Alma, Missouri, and the Elks Lodge.
Michael was in the United States Navy and served during the Operation Desert Storm. He also served in the Missouri and Montana National Guard and active Army. After he served in the Navy, Michael worked on a farm near Brazito. He worked on a ranch in Montana. He was a truck driver for Prime Trucking. In Iraq, he was a truck driver at Headquarters and Headquarters Troop, 1st Squadron of the 4th Calvary of the Army's 1st Infantry Division based in Schweinfurt, Germany.
Mike liked to fish, hunt, horseback ride, adventure the mountains and wide open spaces. No matter where he was, he always kept in touch with his family and friends. His family was very proud of him and he will be greatly missed.
Mike is survived by his parents, his maternal grandmother, Vera Jones, Independence, Missouri; five brothers and sisters, James C. Campbell, Great Lakes, Illinois, Cheryl Ford, Carrollton, Missouri, Orval Massey, Jr., Teresa Frazier and Gena Hicklin, both of Waverly, Missouri; fifteen nieces and nephews and many other family members and friends.
His paternal grandfather, Lester Campbell, his paternal grandmother, Margaret Mann, his maternal grandparents, Wade and Retta Musgrave and his maternal grandfather James W. Jones, preceded him in death.

Robert B. Pearman, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away on May 22, 2004, in Clinton, Missouri. He was born in Brunswick, Missouri on August 17, 1918 to Bryan Wilbur "Kink" Pearman and Zelma Billups Pearman. He married Sibyl Rose Grotjan on May 25, 1941, and they celebrated 60 happy years together prior to her death on April 21, 2002. After serving with the ARmy Air Corps during World War II, Robert began a telephone communications career of more than 36 years as Local Manager for Western Light and Telephone company in 1945 at Keytesville, Missouri. After thirty months he was assigned the Local Manager's position in Brunswick and in 1952 he was transferred to Mountain Grove as Division Commercial Manager for their southern division. In 1957 he became Field Representative in the Telephone and Operations and Loan Division of the Rural Electrification Administration for the state of Iowa. In 1960 he returned to Missouri to become Commercial Manager for the South Missouri Telephone Company in 1964. He served in several different positions with Continental in Missouri, Kansas and Arkansas, was President and General Manager of Continental Telephone of Kansas for five years, and State Manager for Arkansas for three years. He retired in September 1981 as Public Affairs and Administrative Manager in Arkansas. Robert has been Director of the Kansas Telephone Association, the Arkansas Telephone Association and the Missouri Telephone Association. He was a retired member of the Independent Telephone Pioneers Association. He has been a member of the Rucker-McAllister post of the American Legion for more than fifty years. He has held leadership positions with civic organizations in several communities in three states, volunteered with the American Cancer Society, and was an active member of the Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, B. W. and Zelma (Billups) Pearman, sisters Wilma Bennett and Martha Pearman, and his son Robert L. Pearman. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Lynne Pearman-Condon and Michael L. Condon of Dallas, Texas, and grandson Collin Jeremiah Pearman of Independence, Missouri, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, May 26, 2004 at 2:00 p.m., at Gibson Funeral Home, Brunswick, Missouri with Reverend David Magi presiding. Hester Lloyd Michaels, Sr., of Norborne, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, May 26, 2004, at his home.
Hester was born May 5, 1919 in Carrollton, Missouri, the son of Charles Lewis and Rosie Lee Smith Michaels.
He attended Trotter, Ridge, Hazel Hill, and Hale schools.
Hester was married to Sarah Katherine Parks on April 10, 1941 in Carrollton, Missouri by Reverend C.C. Davenport; she survives at the home.
Hester followed the occupation of farming, was employed by the Standley-Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri for 8 and 1/2 years, foreman for Kansas City Association for the Blind, and retired from U.S. By-Products in Henrietta, Missouri in 1971.
He attended the Baptist Church.
Survivors include twelve children : Eva Lee Bass and her husband, Melvin,of Belton, Missouri, Sarah Jean Michaels, Carrollton, Missouri, Hester L. Michaels, Jr., Independence, Missouri, Kenneth Michaels and his wife, Mary, Kansas City, Missouri, Marion Michaels and his wife, Lois, Norborne, Missouri, Patricia Darlene Pierce and her husband, Buford, Norborne, Missouri, Dale Ray Michaels, Norborne, Missouri, Kathy Pollard and her husband, Wayne, Carrollton, Missouri, Ricky Michaels and his wife, Lou, Carrollton, Missouri, Stephen Michaels and his wife, Julie, Carrollton, Missouri, John Michaels and his wife, Diane, Creighton, Missouri, and Penny Sue Clemons, Cameron, Missouri; two sisters, Bessie Schaeffer, Carrollton, Missouri and Mickey Wheeler, Norborne, Missouri; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Hester was preceded in death by six brothers, Clarence, Oscar, Arthur, George, Richard, and Russell, one sister, Delora, one sister, Irene, in infancy, one daughter, Carolyn Hon, one granddaughter, two great-grandchildren, and one granddaughter-in-law.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 1st at the Gibson Funeral Home in Carrollton, Missouri, with the Reverend John Mohler officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 31st at the Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri.
Burial will be in the Carroll Memory Gardens, Carrollton, Missouri.
