Ervin Lee Casner, age 70, passed away unexpectedly on January 13, 2005 near his home. He was born January 3, 1935 in rural Norborne, the son of Ervin B. and Edna Struck-Casner. On December 17, 1955 he was married to Annette Colter. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, son Kevin and wife Gayle, daughter Donna Laughlin, one brother Louis (Gene), five grandchildren, Lindsey and Kylee Chapman, Carmen Casner-Lyon and husband Jason, Stephanie and Adam Casner, and one great-grandchild, Raegan Lyon. He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson Nathan Eric Casner and nephew Dennis Casner.
Ervin Lee was educated in the Dick and Smith Elementary schools and attended Carrollton High School. He followed the profession of crop farming all of his life. He was a member of the First Christian Church where he was formerly a Deacon and member of the property committee. He enjoyed his family, was an avid swap shop enthusiast and was past president of the Sugartree Drainage District. He also served as Democratic Committeeman for Sugartree Township for many years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and trapping.
Visitation will be Sunday, January 16, 2005 from 7-8:30 p.m., at Gibson Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be Monday, January 17 at 1:30 p.m. at Gibson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Carroll Memory Gardens, Carrollton, Missouri.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Foundation or First Christian Church, Carrollton, Missouri. They may be left at or mailed to Gibson Funeral Home, 201 S. Main, Carrollton MO 64633.

Charles Edward (Redbuck) Winfrey, age 81, of Lexington, Missouri; and formerly of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Monday, January 17, 2005 at Pioneer House in Lexington, Missouri.
He was born on March 11, 1923 in Carrollton, Missouri, the son of Lorenzo and Hattie Lee Eubanks Winfrey. He attended Lincoln School. He attended Methodist churches. He was a farmer and a carpenter.
Charles is survived by his companion, Marian Robinson, Lexington, Missouri, seven children, Charles E. Winfrey, Jr., Carrollton, Missouri, Everett Fay Winfrey, Waterloo, Iowa, Earl Morris Winfrey, St. Louis, Missouri, Evelyn Winfrey, Dubuque, Iowa, Howard Winfrey, St. Louis, Missouri, John Winfrey, Marshall, Missouri, Jimmy Winfrey, Dubuque, Iowa; six step-children, Hazel Harker, Lexington, Missouri, Bessie Nicholas, Carrollton, Missouri, Jan Hunt, Marshall, Missouri, Martha Elliott, Richmond, Missouri, Susan Miles, Denver, Colorado, J. R. Harker, Chillicothe, Missouri; one brother, James Nunley, St. Joseph, Missouri; one sister, Mary Ann Tanner, Inkster, Michigan; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
His parents, his wife, Florine, two brothers, Johnny Collins and Radell Winfrey and one sister, Esther Harker, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m., Friday, January 21, 2005 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri with Reverend Leroy Gilmore officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Carrollton, Missouri.
Visitation will be from 12-1:15 p.m., at the funeral home prior to the service.

Mrs. Juanita George, 79, of Liberty, Missouri, passed away Saturday, January 22, 2005, at the Woodbine Health Care Center, Gladstone, Missouri.
Juanita was born January 9, 1926 in Carrollton, Missouri; the daughter of Jewel E. and Ida Dooley Macoubrie.
She received her education in Carrollton, Missouri & Keokuk, Iowa .
Juanita was married to Harold K. George on January 28, 1951 by Reverend W.D. Edwards at the First Baptist Church in Carrollton, Missouri.
She was employed by Park College, in sales and as a broker for the Bill Johnson Real Estate Agency, and as secretary to the Building Manager at Ten Century in Wichita, Kansas.
Juanita was a member of the Tiffany Fellowship Church, Tiffany Springs, Missouri
Survivors include her husband, Harold, of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Dwight K. and Donna Faye George, Chillicothe, Missouri; two brothers, Jack Macoubrie, Catharge, Missouri and David Macoubrie, Chillicothe, Missouri; three sisters, Mary Ellen Valbracht and Ruth Ann Rooks, Chillicothe, Missouri and Dorothy Weedin, Carrollton, Missouri; one sister-in-law, Kathleen Miller, Carrollton, Missouri; two granddaughters, Sharla Faye George and Katherine J. Campbell; one grandson, Jesse Kenton George; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 23, 2005, at the Gibson Funeral Home, 201 South Main, Carrollton, Missouri, with Pastor Jeff Maxwell officiating.
The body will lie in state Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 until 5:00 p.m. and from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Wednesday at the Gibson Funeral Home in Carrollton, Missouri.
The family suggests contributions to the Alzehimer's Association in memory of Mrs. George and they may be left at or mailed to Gibson Funeral Home, 201 South Main, Carrollton, Missouri 64633.

Billy Gene Chase, 66, was born February 10, 1938 in Robertson, Missouri, to the late William Roger Chase and Marjorie Ada Childs Chase. He went to school in Robertson and high school in Webster Grove, Missouri. He was baptized in the Baptist church.
Upon completing school, he went to work for Westlake Quarries and later for Fred Weber in the demolition department doing drilling and blasting for many years. He came out of retirement to put his skill to work during the flood of 93. Billy had scores of friends and never met a stranger. Everyone was "good buddy".
He was the father of five sons and one daughter. He departed this life from cancer Monday night, January 24, 2005 at Carroll County Memorial Hospital, Carrollton, Missouri. Billy leaves to mourn his passing five sons; Tyrone Chase and wife Robin, St. Charles, Missouri, Terrance Chase, Hazelwood, Missouri, Garland Chase, Ferguson, Missouri, Juan Chase, Berkley, Missouri, Michael McMillian, St. Louis, Missouri; his sister, Allie M. Thomas of rural Carrollton, Missouri; five grandchildren and numerous nephews, cousins and hundreds of friends.
His parents, a brother, William Chase, Jr., a sister, Martha Rogers and daughter Tabetha preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 29, 2005 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri with Reverend I.B.S. Groves, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in DeWitt Cemetery, DeWitt, Missouri.
Mr. Chase will lie in state on Friday, January 28, 2005 from 1-6:00 p.m., at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri.

Joseph William (Bill) Lock, Jr., age 80, of Waverly, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2005 at Carroll House, Carrollton, Missouri.
He was born October 18, 1924 in Marshall, Missouri, the son of Joseph W., Sr. and Marie Roetheli Lock. He attended Mercy Academy in Marshall, Missouri, Callaway School and St. Mary's School in Carrollton.
On March 29, 1951, Bill married Evelyn Cristeen Tyhurst at St. Mary's Church in Carrollton. She preceded him in death on March 6, 2004. They had celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary in 2001.
Bill had been a farmer in Carrollton and Waverly, Missouri. He had served on the Waverly Water Board. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Carrollton and was a fourth degree Knight of Columbus. He enjoyed music and was an accomplished mandolin player.
Bill is survived by four children, Carol Ann Ross and husband Lanny, New Market, Iowa, Steven Neil Lock, Higginsville, Missouri, Catherine Lynn Lock, Carrollton, Missouri, Phyllis Jean Bargfrede and husband Brent, Dunlap, Illinois; one brother, C. R. (Bob) Lock, Carrollton, Missouri; one sister, Loretta Luse, Kansas City, Missouri; three grandchildren, Michelle Ross Hobbick and husband Eric, New Market, Iowa, Becky Bargfrede and Ben Bargfrede, Dunlap, Illinois and one great granddaughter, Danielle Hobbick.
His parents, one great grandson, Scotty Eugene Ross, three brothers, Herb, Ted and Bert and three sisters, Clara Sweeney, Lola Martin and Laura Duvall, also preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 28, 2005 at 10:30 a.m., at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Carrollton, Missouri, with Reverend Ken Criqui officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Carrollton, Missouri.
Visitation will be from 7-8:30 p.m., Thursday, January 27, 2005 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri, with a Rosary at 8:30 p.m.
The family suggests contributions be made to St. Mary's Cemetery or St. Mary's Church in memory of Mr. Lock. They may be left at or mailed to Gibson Funeral Home, 201 S. Main, Carrollton MO 64633.

Nancy Maurine Dysart, age 67, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2005 at St. Luke's Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri.
She was born September 7, 1937 in Wakenda, Missouri, the daughter of John A. and Nancy M. Benson Bradshaw. She attended Wakenda Grade School and graduated from Carrollton High School.
On November 21, 1956 she married Glenn J. Dysart in Wakenda, Missouri. He survives at the home.
Nancy was retired from Van Toyota. She was a full time Mom and Nanny and was an Amateur Radio Operator (KC0BQE). She was a member of the Church of Christ of Claycomo, Missouri and the Moose Lodge #2414 in Independence, Missouri.
In addition to her husband Glenn, Nancy is also survived by four children, Glenn Jay Dysart and wife Ronda, Kansas City, Missouri, Kenneth B. Dysart and wife Amaryllis, Memphis, Tennessee, Cynthia (Cindy) Lee Kennedy and husband David, Rogers, Arkansas, Jacqueline Sue (Jackie) Dysart, Kansas City, Missouri; two sisters, Sue Frizzell, Independence, Missouri, Jonnie Jo Skinner, Marshfield, Missouri; six grandchildren, Glenn James Dysart, Rachel Katherine Holcomb, Timothey Lee Silvey, II, Stephanie Marie Silvey, Amber Maurine Kennedy and Brittany Lynn Kennedy; five great grandchildren, Garrett James Dysart, Emma Leigh Dysart, Keegan Gabriel Holcomb, Angel Silvey; one step granddaughter, Wendi Wylie and three step great grandchildren, Michael, Christi and Brittney Vernon.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Zelda Fay Bradshaw.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Monday, January 31, 2005 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri, with Dwight Dickerson officiating. Burial will be in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, Missouri.
Visitation will be from 7-9:00 p.m., Sunday, January 30, 2005 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri.
The family suggests contributions be made to St. Luke�s Cancer Fund in memory of Mrs. Dysart. They may be left at or mailed to Gibson Funeral Home, 201 S. Main, Carrollton MO 64633.

Susan Annette Johnson, age 45, of Norborne, Missouri, passed away Thursday, January 27, 2005 at her home.
She was born March 16, 1959 in San Bernardino, California, the daughter of Donald and Mauddie Eledge Gibson. She graduated from Redlands High School in Redlands, California.
On January 28, 1978 she married Harold David Johnson in Hesperia, California. He survives at the home. Susan was a housewife and mother. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Norborne.
Susan is also survived by two children, Daniel J. Johnson and Jodee Bell Thomas, both of Norborne, Missouri; two brothers, Ray Gibson, Redlands, California, Rodger Gibson, Colfax, California; one sister, Lena Mullenix, Redlands, California; and two grandchildren, Jacob D. and Jenna L. Johnson.
Her parents, one brother, Timmothy Gibson, and a daughter, Carrie A. Coxen, preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held later this week at Calvary Chapel in Redlands, California. Burial will be in Hillside Memorial Park. Cortner Funeral Home is conducting arrangements there.

Rose L. Shackelford Hayes, age 90, of Brunswick, Missouri, passed away Monday, January 31, 2005 at Boone Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. She was born October 19, 1914 in Chariton County, Missouri, the daughter of John Franklin and Carrie Louise Robertson Shackelford. She graduated from Brunswick High School in 1933 as Valedictorian of her class. rose married Benjamin Parker "Pete" Hayes on May 8, 1938, Pete preceded her in death on May 17, 1994. She had worked as a stenographer for the Missouri Division of Family Services. Rose was a member of the Brunswick United Methodist Church, she had been active with the United Methodist Women, a member of the Eastern Star, P.E.O. Chapter DN, and the Modern Homebuilders. She is survived by two sons, John E. Hayes of Branson, Missouri and William D. Hayes of Brunswick, Missouri; one sister, Kathryn Wolfe of Brunswick, Missouri; four grandchildren, William W. Hayes of Cincinnati, Ohio, Sara Hayes of Raleigh, North Carolina, John P. Hayes of Springfield, Missouri and Kathlene Comesana of St. Louis, Missouri; five great grandchildren, John Benjamin, Courtney Elaine and Christian Michael Hayes, Elizabeth Kate Comesana and Shelby Rose Hayes. She was also preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held at the Brunswick United Methodist Church on Thursday, February 3, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Lanny Lybarger officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 3, 2005 at Gibson Funeral Home, Brunswick, Missouri. Burial will be in Elliott Grove Cemetery, Brunswick, Missouri. The family suggests contributions be made to the Brunswick United Methodist Church in memory of Rose. They may be left at or mailed to Gibson Funeral Home, 207 W. Broadway, Brunswick MO 65236.

Euna B. Funk, age 92, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at Carroll County Memorial Hospital, Carrollton, Missouri. She was born July 13, 1912, in Carroll County, Missouri, the daughter of Claude and Maude Godsy Crawford. She attended Tina and Bogard, Missouri schools. On April 4, 1931 she married Ray Y. Funk in Saline County, Missouri. He preceded her in death on September 2, 1974. Euna was a homemaker and mother. She had done domestic work in homes in the Carrollton area and she had been a caregiver. In the 1970's, she and Ray moved to Chillicothe, Missouri where she volunteered for the Salvation ARmy. She was a charter member of the Southside Baptist Church in Carrollton. Euna is survived by five children; Mrs. Carl (Darlene) Cowick, Carrollton, Missouri, Mrs. Bill (Wanda) Clark, Carrollton, Missouri, Mrs. Lewis (June) McDowell, Bosworth, Missouri, Jerry Funk and wife Judy, Bogard, Missouri, Darrell Dunk and wife Jeannie, Carrollton, Missouri; one sister, Bonnie rose Walton, Rollins, Wyoming; twenty-six grandchildren; fifty-six great grandchildren and twelve great great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Ray, Euna was also preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Anna L. Funk, two sons, Larry E. and Francis M. Funk, two step-sons, Leroy and Donald Funk, one brother, Sterling L. Crawford, one granddaughter, Deanna Cox and three great grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 4, 2005 at Carroll Memory Gardens, Carrollton, Missouri, with Reverend Ken Prewitt officiating. Visitation will be before the service at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri, beginning at 10:00 a.m. The family suggests contributions be made to the Southside Baptist Church of Carrollton in memory of Mrs. Funk. Joseph Edward Berrier, age 71, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Friday, February 11, 2005 at the Cameron Medical Center, Cameron, Missouri.
He was born April 29, 1933 in Carrollton, Missouri, the son of Ernest and Estelene Barr Berrier. He attended Carrollton schools. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked in construction. Joe was a member of the First Baptist Church of Carrollton and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Pence-Lovell-England Post #1773 of Carrollton.
Joe married Kathryn Wright of Kansas City, Kansas in 1963. She survives at the home.
In additon to Kathryn, Joe is survived by five children; Joel Wayne Berrier, Independence, Missouri, Teresa McDonald, Carrollton, Missouri, Erma Josephine Worman, Chillicothe, Missouri, Ernest Jack Berrier, Houston, Texas, Betty Sue Todd, Bentonville, Arkansas; one brother, Franklin Berrier, Cinncinatti, Ohio; one sister, Kathleen Frakes, White Rock, Missouri; and eight grandchildren, Joel Berrier, Eric Berrier, Bo McWilliams, Jesse McDonald, Kathryn Worman, Arron Lucky, Savanna Todd and Jackson Todd.
His parents and one brother, Jacke Berrier, preceded Joe in death.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, February 15, 2005 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri, with Reverend Jeff Maxwell officiating. Burial will be in Wharton Cemetery, Bosworth, Missouri.
Visitation will be from 7-8:30 p.m., Monday, February 14, 2005 at Gibson Funeral Home in Carrollton.
The family suggests contributions be made to Wharton Cemetery in memory of Mr. Berrier. They may be left at or mailed to Gibson Funeral Home, 201 S. Main, Carrollton MO 64633.
