Verna H. Kruger, age 96, of Brunswick, Missouri, and formerly of DeWitt, Missouri, passed away on Monday, February 14, 2005 at the Brunswick Nursing Home in Brunswick, Missouri. She was born on April 1, 1908 at Bunker hill, Illinois, the daughter of Thomas and Anna Ballinger Henderson. Verna married Carl Kruger on November 7, 1931 at Jefferson City, Missouri. Carl preceded her in death on December 10, 1971. She had been a housewife and homemaker. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She is survived by nieces, nephews and cousins. Graveside services will be held in the Evergreen Cemetery at DeWitt, Missouri on Friday, February 18, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Gilbert Goodwin officiating. Mrs. Kruger will lie in state at the Gibson Funeral Home in Brunswick, Missouri on Thursday from 1-7:00 p.m., and on Friday, from 8-10:45 a.m.
Doris Elizabeth Daugherty Davidson, age 88, of Mexico, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2005 at King's Daughters Home in Mexico, Missouri.
She was born November 3, 1916, in rural Carroll County, northwest of Bogard, Missouri, the oldest child of Curtis Marvin and Melvia Applebury Daugherty. She was married March 24, 1951 to Frank J. Davidson in Salem, Arkansas. He preceded her in death August 3, 1967.
She attended the Braden Rural School and graduated from the Bogard High School in 1935. Upon completion of a course at the Chillicothe Business College, Chillicothe, Missouri in 1943, she moved to Mexico, Missouri where she was employed at the Missouri Military Academy. Later, she worked for the Audrain County Abstract Company. When the abstract company was sold, she worked for Rodes Insurance Company, retiring in 1981.
She was a member of the Mexico United Methodist Church, the Bruce-Reed Hopkins Circle and the United Methodist Women. She was also a volunteer at the Mexico Senior Center and a member of the Board, serving as secretary for a number of years.
She is survived by one brother, Herman R. Daugherty, Bogard, Missouri; two nieces, Ruth E. Wood, Louisiana, Missouri and Carolyn J. North, Springfield, Missouri; three nephews, Billy Ray Daugherty, Loudon, Tennessee, John D. Daugherty, Bogard, Missouri and Harold L. Flick, Blue Springs, Missouri. Eleven great-nieces and nephews and eight great-great nieces and nephews and several cousins also survive her.
Her parents, her husband, her sister, Lois Flick, and her sister-in-law, Veva Daugherty, preceded her in death.
Graveside services will be held at the Coloma Cemetery on Friday, February 18, 2005 at 2:00 p.m., with Reverend Sandra Crater officiating.
Visitation will be from 6:30-8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 17, 2005 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri.
A memorial service will be held at Mexico, Missouri at the King's Daughters Home Chapel on Thursday, February 17, 2005 at 2:00 p.m.

Francis Edward Ritzinger, age 93, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2005 at Carroll County Memorial Hospital, Carrollton, Missouri.
He was born July 3, 1911 in Bogard, Missouri, the son of Robert William and Lydia Taylor Ritzinger. He attended Taylor and Hale Rural Schools. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy serving during World War II.
On July 16, 1937, he married Mary Eleene Mitchell in Carrollton, Missouri. She survives at the home. Francis had lived all his life in Carroll County. He retired from Banquet Foods in 1977. After retirement, he worked on the farm for Donnie Pence for several years, which he thoroughly enjoyed. His favorite past time was horseback riding. He was President of the Saddle Club in Carrollton for many years. He and his daughter Sharon rode on many trail rides and helped with the Kidney Foundation Rides for several years. He, Mary and Sharon enjoyed camping and trail riding. He was a member of the Hale Christian Church and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Pence-Lovell-England Post #1773 of Carrollton.
Francis is survived by three children; Robert Carl Ritzinger and wife Janet, Higginsville, Missouri, Ralph Edward Ritzinger and wife Mary, Bogard, Missouri, Sharon K. Ritzinger, Carrollton, Missouri; three grandsons, Robert James Ritzinger, Carl Wayne Ritzinger and Stephen Lee Ritzinger; three step-granddaughters, Stacy Marquez, Tracy Ewing and Resa Hornecker; and fourteen great grandchildren.
His parents and two sisters, Alpha Thomas and Helen Preco, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 19, 2005 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri, with Reverend Bert Hughes officiating. Burial will be in Hale Cemetery, Hale, Missouri with Military Honors.
Visitation will be from 10-10:45 a.m., on Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home.

Cloise "Connie" Nadene Moser Huffman, 82, of Brunswick, MO died on Wednesday, February 16, 2005 at the Fitzgibbon Hospital at Marshall, Missouri.
She was born on November 22, 1922 at Altoona, Kansas the daughter of William and Maude Depuy Holloway.
She graduated from the Altoona High School in 1940.
She married Herman H. Moser on March 20, 1947 at Brunswick, MO, Herman died on June 21, 1979. She later married Gerald Huffman on May 6, 1986, Gerald died on September 5, 1998.
After High School, Connie had worked as a reporter for the newspaper in Altoona, KS.
In Brunswick she had been co-owner and operator of the Moser's Coffee in Brunswick, MO.
She was a member of the Brunswick Christian Church, a former chairman of the Lewis and Clark Committee, a member of the Chariton County Democratic Committee, and had also worked several years as a leader of the Brownie and Girl Scout Organizations in Brunswick.
She is survived by one daughter, Terri Ostermann and her husband James of Brunswick, MO; two step-daughters, Carol Ott and Kathy Scalise and one step-son, Gerald Huffman all of New Jersey; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Frank Doty.
Funeral services will be held at the Gibson Funeral Home in Brunswick MO on Saturday, February 19, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. Reverend Lanny Lybarger and Gail Brown officiating.
Visitation will be from 6:30 - 8:00 P.M. on Friday at the Funeral Home.
Burial will be in the Elliott Grove Cemetery at Brunswick, MO.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Rook, Tim Wheeler, Donny Riddle, Michael Renner, Eric Eschbach and Jamie Shields.

She was born January 18, 1957 in Carrollton, Missouri, the daughter of Verl Eldred and Norma Adkins Stephens. She graduated from Carrollton High School. She attended the Abundant Life Fellowship in Carrollton, Missouri. She had been employed with the Higginsville Rehabilitation Center, Carroll County Memorial Hospital and Carrollton Specialties.
One sister, Vickie Dankenbring, Waverly, Missouri, survives Verla.
Her parents preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, February 24, 2005 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri, with Reverend Benny Whitehead officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Carrollton, Missouri.
Visitation will be from 12-1:15 p.m., on Thursday, prior to the service.

Rex Junior Lightfoot, 64, of Taylor, MO and formerly of Brunswick, MO died on Sunday, February 20, 2005 at the Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.
He was born on April 12, 1940 at Bosworth, MO the son of Millard and Laurean Cauble Lightfoot. He was a graduate of the Bosworth High School. Rex married Helen Louise Benedict on, September 14, 1960. Helen preceded him in death on May 20, 2002. Rex had been a self-employed Drywall Contractor for the past 25 years. He was a Christian. He is survived by one daughter, Krusha Frakes of DeWitt, MO; two sons, R.J. Lightfoot of Quincy, IL and Chad Lightfoot and his wife, Rhonda of Ursa, IL; Delma St.Clair companion of the home and her daughter, Erica Davis; one brother, Dick Lightfoot of DeWitt, MO; six grandchildren, Neal and Devan Frakes and Ashley, Canady, Raelyn and Gage Lightfoot.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Anna Lee Lewellen and one brother, Roy Lightfoot. Funeral services will be held at the Gibson Funeral Home in Brunswick, MO on Thursday, February 24, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. Reverend Lanny Lybarger officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday

Ernest W. (Pete) Curry passed away February 23, 2005 at Apple Ridge Care Center, Waverly, Missouri.
He was born November 13, 1918 to Oden C. and Laura Lichtenthaler Curry. He was married to Aleene R. Rogge, July 4, 1948 in Waverly, Missouri. She survives at the home.
Other survivors are two sons, Mike and Jana Curry, Carrollton, Missouri, Mark Curry and Tammy, Kingsville, Missouri; two daughters, Linda and Donald Keith Blyth, Orrick, Missouri and Brenda and Mike Baker, Richmond, Missouri; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one brother, Oden J. Curry, Waverly, Missouri; and four sisters, Bernice Hicks, Marshall, Missouri, Urita Taylor, Miami, Missouri, JoAnn Hurt, Waverly, Missouri, Wanda Bartlett, Lexington, Missouri, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
His parents, four brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 26, 2005 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Waverly, Missouri with Pastor Brett Mueller officiating. Burial will be in Waverly Cemetery, Waverly, Missouri, with Military Graveside Honors.

Lillie May Newnham, age 95, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Friday, February 25, 2005 at Carroll County Memorial Hospital, Carrollton, Missouri.
She was born March 23, 1909 in rural Carroll County, Missouri, the daughter of John William and Nannie Belle Young Johnson. She attended Austin School.
On October 13, 1928 she was married to Robert Orvin Newnham at the home of Reverend Robertson. Orvin preceded her in death on March 8, 1995. Lillie was a farm wife and mother and was employed as a line worker with Banquet Foods for twenty years. She was a member of the Carrollton Church of Christ.
Lillie is survived by one son, Kenneth E. Newnham and wife Donna, Carrollton, Missouri; one granddaughter, Cynthia Brookshire, Ozark, Missouri; and three great grandsons.
Her parents, five brothers, Charles, Clarence, Albert, Oscar and Fred and one grandson, Rodney, also preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m., Monday, February 28, 2005 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri with Brother Tom Dennis officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Carrollton, Missouri.

Roger Lee Evans, age 58, of Carrollton, Missouri passed away February 25, 2005 at his home.
He was born July 22, 1946 in the San Diego, California, the son of Marvin Lee and Daphne Evans. He attended Carrollton Schools. Roger was self-employed.
He is survived by several cousins and life-long friends.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside services were at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at Oak Hill Cemetery, Carrollton, Missouri, with Reverend Bert Hughes officiating.
