HACKLEY OBITUARY
Eleanor Dennis Hackley, age 82, Waverly, Missouri, died Sunday, December 12, 1999, at the Santa Fe Care Center in Lexington, Missouri.
She was born January 4, 1917, in Thayer, Kansas, the daughter of Roy and Mina Enochs Dennis. She moved to Waverly when she was a small child and attended school there.
She was a member of the Waverly United Methodist Church, the KPMTN Club, the Joe Shelby United Daughters of the Confederacy, the Anthony Thomas Chapter of the D.A.R., and the Waverly Garden Club.
On December 20, 1942, Eleanor was married to George W. (Dub) Hackley in Waverly. He preceded her in death on April 19, 1990.
Survivors include one daughter, Carol Henderson, Kansas City, Missouri, two sisters, Juanita Schroeder, Blue Springs, Missouri, and Mary Elizabeth White, Lexington; one sister-in-law, Ida May Hackley Davis, St. Charles, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, December 14, 1999, at the United Methodist Church, Waverly, conducted by Reverend Jim Quist and Reverend Keith Hall. Burial was in Waverly Cemetery, Waverly.
The family suggests contributions to the United Methodist Church in memory of Mrs. Hackley.
KELLEY OBITUARY
Eugene H. Kelley, age 77, of Carrollton, Missouri, died December 1, 1999, at his home.
He was born March 6, 1922, in Carroll County, Missouri, the son of Noel David and Lena Stark Kelley. He attended Enterprise Grade School near Roads, Missouri.
He retired from ARMCO Steel in 1988 after working for 39 years. He worked on electric furnaces.
He was a member of the Mt. Washington Masonic Lodge in Independence, MO.
On September 6, 1956, he was married to Leona F. Miller in St. Joseph, Missouri. She preceded him in death on March 31, 1999.
Survivors include two daughters, Janis Baker, Odessa, Missouri, and Patti Lahmann, Potosi, Missouri; a brother, Willie Kelley, Tightwad, Missouri; a sister, Beulah Wright, Norborne, Missouri; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Floyd Kelley and John David Kelley.
Graveside services were conducted by Reverend Bert Hughes at 10:30 A.M., Friday, December 3, 1999, at the Fairhaven Cemetery, Norborne.
The family suggests contributions to the Fairhaven Cemetery in memory of Mr. Kelley. They may be left at or mailed to the Gibson Funeral Home in Carrollton.
SANDERS OBITUARY
Violet Sanders, age 86, of Carrollton, Missouri, died January 10, 2000, at the University Medical Center in Columbia, Missouri.
Mrs. Sanders was born October 16, 1913, in Carroll County, Missouri, the daughter of Eunice and Lydia Sanders Harden.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Ernest Sanders of the home.
Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Bonnie Foster, Columbia, and Mrs. Linda Aschen, St. Charles, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Deborah Henderson, Columbia, Phillip Henderson, Carrollton, Jeffery Henderson, Bogard, Missouri, Dianna Henderson, Kansas City, Missouri, Michael Henderson, Carrollton, Barbara Garcia, Athens, Texas, Donald Foster, Garland, Texas, Susan Foster, Columbia, and Mark Aschen, St. Charles; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Harold E. Harden, and a son, Robert Ray Henderson.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M., Friday, January 14, 2000, at the Gibson Funeral Home in Carrollton, conducted by Reverend Joe Barone. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Carrollton.
STEPHENS OBITUARY
Louise May Stephens was born in Richmond, Missouri on April 17, 1922, to Charles and Ruth (Patton) Dennis.
At the age of 2, she moved with her family to Carrollton, Missouri, where her father ran a grocery store up until the time of his death. She was a graduate of the Carrollton High School class of 1941. She worked at Temple Stephens and Kroger Grocery Stores until moving to Hale, Missouri. She was an active homemaker and volunteer in the Hale community until retirement.
Louise was a member of the Carrollton Church of Christ.
On June 29, 1944, Louise married Charles Lloyd Stephens of Hale, Missouri, in Kansas City, Kansas. They lived all their married life in Hale, Missouri until retirement when they moved to Carrollton, Missouri.
Mrs. Stephens is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Marilyn Louise Kuhlman and son-in-law, Danny of St. Louis, Missouri, and Mr. Lloyd Dennis Stephens and daughter-in-law, Karen of Hale, Missouri; as well as six beloved grandchildren: Kyle, Kristen and Kevin Kuhlman, and Dennis, Eric and Michelle Stephens. She is also survived by one brother, Frank I. Dennis of Arlington, Texas.
She was proceeded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Lloyd, her parents and one brother.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M., Thursday, April 6, 2000, at the Gibson Funeral Home in Carrollton, Missouri, conducted by Evangelist William Hensley. Burial will be in Hale Cemetery, Hale.
Visitation will be from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, at the funeral home.
The family requests that memorial donations can be made to the Carrollton Church of Christ or the American Cancer Society in memory of Mrs. Stephens.
Lyman V. Willis, age 79, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away at his home near Miami Station, Monday, May 13, 2002.
He was born February 11, 1923 in Tina, Missouri, the son of Thomas B. and Myrtle Fox Willis. He attended school at Stokes Mound and Wakenda, Missouri. He was a World War II Navy Veteran; and owned Lyman's Auto Service in Carrollton, Missouri. He was a member of Pence- Lovell-England Veteran's of Foreign Wars Post #1773, Carrollton, Missouri.
He was married to Christina Wright on January 31, 1945 in Kansas City, Kansas. She survives at the home.
Survivors include one son, Wayne Willis and wife Candy, Vandalia, Missouri; one sister, Mable Monroe, Carrollton, Missouri; one grandson, Marc Willis, Camdenton, Missouri; two step- grandchildren, Matthew and Tracy Best; two great-grandchildren, Kenneth and Rachel Waltz.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Carolyn Sue in infancy; two brothers, Kenneth and Edwin Willis.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, May 16, 2002 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri, with Reverend Lanny Lybarger officiating. Burial with military graveside services by Pence-Lovell-England Veteran's of Foreign Wars Post #1773 will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, DeWitt, Missouri.

Janice Emmett Tyhurst, age 86, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2002, at the Carroll County Memorial Hospital.
Janice was born January 20, 1916 in Tina, Missouri; the daughter of Loyd Burton and Veryl Grace Calvert Emmett.
She attended various schools in Carroll County and graduated from Carrollton High School in 1934.
Janice was married to Carrol Andrew Tyhurst in Carrollton, Missouri on September 18, 1938; he preceded her in death on February 16, 1988.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Carrollton, Missouri, the Carrollton Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Tarara Sewing Club-Auxiliary of the Ararat Shrine Temple, Kansas City, Missouri, and the Carrollton Child Study Club.
Survivors include three children, Sara Beth of Ithaca, New York, Jean Ann and her husband, Chuck Ferguson of St. Louis, Missouri, and Thomas Andrew Tyhurst, Mexico, Missouri; one sister, Helen Emmett Drysdale and her husband, Stephen of Barnett, Missouri; two grandchildren, Susan Canaday Krippner, Salt Lake City, Utah and John Andrew Canaday, Seattle, Washington; one great-granddaughter, Katharine Rose Krippner; and several nieces and nephews including Ellen Hayward Purvis, Carrollton, Missouri.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Ruth Jean Norris and Dorothy May Hayward.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 A.M. on Tuesday morning, May 7, 2002, at the Gibson Funeral Home in Carrollton, Missouri with the Reverend Sandra Crater and the Reverend Bruce Trussell officiating.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until 11:15 A.M. on Tuesday morning at the funeral home.
Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Carrollton, Missouri.

Karen Sue Riggle Sockell, age 50, of Durham, North Carolina, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2002, at her home after a lengthy struggle with cancer.
Karen was born June 19, 1951 in Carrollton, Missouri; the daughter of Ivan L. and Barbara Rottman Riggle.
She recieved her education in Carrollton, MO and furthered her education at Duke University.
She had lived in South and North Carolina for the past twenty years and was employed in the Research Department at the Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina for 13 years until health problems forced her to retire three years ago. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Carrollton, Missouri.
Karen was married to Chuck Sockell on July 14, 1999 in Carrollton, Missouri; he survives at the home.
Other survivors include two daughters, Katie Harris, Raleigh, North Carolina and Kelly Sockell of the home; one son, Kenny Sockell of the home; her parents, Ivan L. and Barbara Riggle, Carrollton, MO; one sister and brother-in-law, Koral Ford and her husband Roger, Carrollton, MO; one uncle, Eldon Riggle,Carrollton, MO; one aunt Norma Warner and her husband, Dee of Carrollton, MO; two nephews, Jeremy and Justin Ford, Carrollton, MO; and cousins Sharon Howe and Kenny Warner, Carrollton, MO, Rick Warner, Excelsior Springs, MO, Shirley Smith, Blue Springs, MO, and Dr. David Smith, Anniston, Alabama.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Kathy Riggle.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8, 2002, at the Gibson Funeral Home in Carrollton, Missouri, with the Reverend Brett Daily officiating.

Claude D. (Danny) Miller, age 63, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2002 at Carroll House, Carrollton, Missouri. Danny was a life long Carroll County resident.
He was born September 19, 1938, at Braymer, Missouri, the son of Carl F. and Irene F. Hawkins Miller. He attended schools in Hale and Bogard, Missouri; and graduated from Norborne High School, Norborne, Missouri, in 1956. He was employed by Banner Biscuit Company, Banquet Foods, Deputy Sheriff for Carroll County, Missouri; and Pioneer Seed Company. Danny was a member of the First Baptist Church, Carrollton, Missouri; NRA and Wakanda Lodge #52 AF & AM.
On August 13, 1960, he married Eleanor Wiggins at the Morton Parsonage in Hardin, Missouri. She survives at the home.

Miller and wife, Elaine, Dawn, Missouri, Martin Miller and wife, Donna, Norborne, Missouri; four sisters, Carlene Knox and husband, Jimmy, Dover, Arkansas, Laurlie Miller, Carrollton, Missouri, Floy Standley and husband, Paul, Tina, Missouri, Virginia Pelican and husband, Mike, Bogard, Missouri; two brothers-in-law, Dale Wiggins, Carrollton, Missouri, Eugene McWilliams, Bogard, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Destiny and Torey Miller; Justin, Joshua, Courtney and Melanie Dinwiddie; Will Keck, Cara Kohler; four step-grandchildren, Justin and Dustin Kohler; Ashley Horton and Jason Shepherd; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; one sister, Lulu Belle McWilliams; father and mother-in- law, L. H. (Toby) and Lois Wiggins; and a brother-in-law, Lowell Wayne Wiggins.

Dorothy Nell Glaze Hart, age 89, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2002, at Carroll County Memorial Hospital, Carrollton, Missouri.
She was born July, 16, 1912, in Carroll County, Missouri, the daughter of Ben A. and Mattie L. Mann Glaze. She attended Hartis Country School. She was a housewife and mother. Dorothy was a member of the United Methodist Church, Carrollton, Missouri and the Hartis Helpers Club.
On February 8, 1929, she was married to Vercil Robert Hart in Carroll County, Missouri. He preceded her in death on April 26, 1980.
Survivors include one son, Robert A. Hart, Carrollton, Missouri; two grandsons, David M. Hart, Carrollton, Missouri, William Richard Statham, Salinas, California; four great-grandchildren, Emily and Carah Hart, Carrollton, Missouri; Sarah and Ryan Statham, Folsom, California.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Betty Sue Statham; one brother, E. B. Glaze; two sisters, Pauline Lane and Margaret Dorner; one brother, Jack, in infancy; and one sister, Frances, in infancy.

Isabelle B. Goetting, age 76, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2002 at Carroll County Memorial Hospital, Carrollton, Missouri.
She was born September 25, 1925 the daughter of George and Mary McLaughlin Weisz. She attended Norborne schools. She was a housewife and mother; and a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Norborne, Missouri.
On August 14, 1948 she married Charles F. Goetting at his parents home in Norborne, Missouri. He preceded her in death on December 10, 2001.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Thomas and Sheila Goetting, both of Kansas City, Missouri; one brother, Charles Weisz, Richmond, Missouri; three sisters, Georgia Gibson, Hardin, Missouri, Evelyn Bowery, Kansas City, Missouri and Pauline Drehle, Norborne, Missouri.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and one sister.
