Jerold Raymond Molina, son of Raymond E. Molina and Bonnie Teel Molina, was born on Oct. 5, 1941, in Long Beach, Calif., and passed away on Nov. 8, 2005, in his home in Ava, from a long illness at the age of 64 years.
Jerold was a resident of the Ava community for the past five years, moving from Idaho. He was a retired diesel truck mechanic.
Jerold and Mary Heacock were united in marriage on Aug. 25, 1967, in Idaho. He enjoyed painting, fishing, farming and raising goats.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
His survivors include his wife, Mary, of the home in Ava; his father, Raymond E. Molina, North Carolina; one son, Richard K. Molina, Carrywood, Idaho; one sister, Carol Simmamon, Tennessee; and other relatives and friends.
Cremation services were conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Homes, Ava.
Eric Allen Catledge, 30

Eric Allen “Ziggy” Catledge, the son of Larry Catledge and Brenda Kaye (Childress) Catledge, was born Sept. 23, 1975 in Memphis, Tenn., and departed this life Nov. 2, 2005 in Mansfield, at the age of 30.
Eric was a resident of Douglas County since September 2003, moving here from Memphis, Tenn. He was a framing carpenter employed with Penhart Construction Co. Eric loved canoeing and fishing but above all he loved his daughter, Haylee Kaye.
Eric was preceded in death by both his parents.
He is survived by his daughter, Haylee Kaye Catledge, of Bolivar, Tenn., his Aunt, Nancy Causey and husband, Don, Ava; one brother, Justin Moore and wife, Misty, Bartlett, Tenn.; his stepfather, Edward E. Moore, Memphis, Tenn.; a special cousin whom was like a sister, April Brumfield, Ava; nephews, Sean Moore and Brandon Brumfield; aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends.
Services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with the Rev. Tom Johnson officiating.
Interment followed in the Fannon Cemetery.
George Lister, 74

George Lister, 74, of East Moline, Ill., who was reported missing in mid-October, has been found deceased, it was reported to the Herald this week.
Services for Mr. Lister will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Sullivan Phillips Mortuary in East Moline, Ill.
Visitation will be Sunday, Nov. 13, from 2 to 4 p.m.
Mr. Lister has relatives in the Ava area.
Naomi Medora “Nimie” Heigham, 91

Naomi Medora (Beall) “Nimie” Heigham, daughter of Howard Lee Beall and Medora Florence (Heinemyer) Beall, was born on May 22, 1914, in Baltimore, Md., and went to her heavenly home on Nov. 7, 2005, at 6:30 a.m. She was 91 years old.
She moved to Silver Hill, Md. at age 7.
She was joined in marriage to Llewellyn “Lew” Maitland Heigham on Nov. 4, 1932, in Oxon Hill, Md., and then moved to Tempe Hill, Md. They had two children.
In 1954, they moved to Ava, where they lived happily for many years. “Nimie” also volunteered at the Chastains Nursing Home in Ava for over 20 years, leading a discussion group and writing letters for the residents. She and Lew were the Bell Makers from Back Acres for many years. Lew made his own models and poured while “Nimie” did all the painting by hand. They have bells all over the world. She also was a member of the Women’s Methodist Group.
She was a charter member of St. Francis Anglican Church of Ava where she and Father Lew spent many happy hours with their friends. She and Fr. Lew moved to Marshfield in 2001 to live with their daughter and her husband, Nickie and Norman Jones. There she resided until her heavenly passing after a short stay in the hospital.
“Nimie” was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Fr. Lew in 2004, one sister, Juanita Pyles, and a granddaughter, Twana Lee Jones.
Her survivors include one son and wife, Llewellyn M. Heigham Jr. and Ella Jean, of St. Louis; and one daughter and husband, Nickie and Norman Jones, of Marshfield; seven grandchildren, Nikki Chaffin, David Jones, John Paul Jones, Paula English, Angela Gillis, Juanita Heigham and Llewellyn Heigham III; 10 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and many friends and loved ones.
Memorial services will be Tuesday, Nov. 15, at 11 a.m. at the St. Francis Anglican Church in Ava, with the Father Glen Hartley officiating.
Her body was gifted to the University of Missouri Medical Center, Columbia.
Arrangements are conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava.
Eloise Janetta Smith, 87

Eloise Janetta (Nemeth) Smith, was born July 3, 1918, in Pitcher, Okla. and passed away October 27, 2005, at the age of 87 years, 3 months and 24 days. She was the daughter of Minta Edna Silva Hensley and Frank Nemeth.
Eloise married Fred Smith on September 16, 1933, in Yellville, Ark.
Eloise was preceded in death by her husband, Fred; parents, Minta and Frank; one granddaughter, Debra Kay Smith; one grandson, Terry Young; one great-granddaughter, Ivy James; four brothers, Tony Nemeth, Jack Hensley, Alex Nemeth and George Nemeth; two sisters, Bonnie Fisher and Bertha Wasylak; two son-in-laws, Roger Eccardt and Sonny James.
Survivors include her five children, Gavaughna Smith and husband Junie, Gainesville; Evalee Young and husband Ralph, Salem; Arlene Eccardt, Gainesville; Doris Coatney and husband Denver, Gainesville; and Delores James, Gainesville; ten grandchildren, Jeff Smith, Rogersville; Darin Smith, Gainesville; Cindy Campbell, Mtn. Home, Ark.; Cheryl Latham, Knoxville, Tenn.; Brian Eccardt, Peveley, Mo.; David Eccardt, Cedar Hill, Mo.; Marty Coatney, Gainesville; Paula Coatney, Gainesville; Katrina Amyx, Gainesville; and Heath James, Tecumseh. Eleven great-grandchildren, Colby Smith, Dustin Smith, Logan Smith, Shannon Robbins, Taylor Robbins, Chase Latham, Josh Eccardt, Seth Miller, Nathaniel Coatney, Sunni Amyx and Eli Amyx; one brother, Merle Hensley, Doniphan; two sisters, Gloria Bennett and Velma Spicer, both of Granite City, Ill.
Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 31, 2005, at the Gainesville Church of Christ, under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home of Gainesville, with Halbert Smith officiating.

Zella Fay Naugle, 92

Zella Fay Naugle, the daughter of of Encil Grover Harley and Sina Francis (Loftis) Harley, was born March 20, 1913 in Willhoit, Mo., and departed this life Oct. 28, 2005 at the age of 92.
Zella was a resident of Springfield for the past 12 years, moving from Ava. She was a resident of the Ava and Romance area for most of her life, where she worked as a sales clerk and manager of the retail stores.
On June 5, 1932, Zella and Nicholas (Nick) Ralph Naugle were united in marriage at Barren Fork, Mo. Zella and Nick were blessed with a daughter, Marcella.
Zella was a member of the Ava Church of Christ prior to moving to Springfield where she attended the Sunset Church of Christ. She was a member of the All Church Singles Group in Springfield. Zella was an avid bowler and loved flowers and gardening. She was a member of the Greater Springfield Women's Bowling Association and United States Bowling Congress.
Zella was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, and also her special pet poodle “Muffie.”
Her survivors include her daughter, Marcella Bilyeu, Springfield; special daughter, Nancy Mills, Springfield; a sister, Floy Mae Herndon, Quincy, Calif.; several nieces and nephews, and many friends. Zella was loved by all who knew her.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1, in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with Joe Bright and Harlin Howerton officiating. Interment followed in the Ava Cemetery. Visitation was Tuesday from 9 a.m. to service time.
Memorials may be made to Ava Church of Christ, Sunset Church of Christ, or Fair Haven Children's Home.
Jean Griffith, 69

Wilda "Jean" Griffith departed this life to be with our Lord on Oct. 25, 2005, at the age of 69.
Jean was born Nov. 28, 1935, in Thornfield, the daughter of Helen (Haskins) Harley.
On May 7, 1955, Jean and Samuel "Max" Griffith were united in marriage at Lutie, Mo. To this union one daughter, Patricia Kay, was born.
Jean was a long-time secretary for Thornfield School until she retired to dairy farm with her husband Max. She was a loving wife, mother and Granny to her family. Her endearing love for her grandchildren and their love for her, gave them memories that they will always cherish. Her hobbies included gardening, cooking, reading and making mud pies with her grandkids.
Jean was also active in her church and community and enjoyed the company of her many friends and neighbors. She was especially proud of her membership at Mt. Lebanon General Baptist Church in Foil, Mo., where she served as secretary.
Jean was also on the Thornfield Cemetery Board, and a member of the Eastern Star, Theodosia Chapter.
Jean was preceded in death by her loving husband, Max, in February 1997.
She is survived by her daughter, Trish, and husband, Kevin Moran of Wasola, and was "Granny" to four very loving grandchildren, Sean, Shanan, Katherine and Connor, all of the home. She is also survived by her mother, Helen Harley, and two sisters, Ann Harley and Sue Hensley, all of Hartville. Additionally, Jean was a part of a very special extended Turner family that included Gay Strong, Judy Turner, Joe Turner, June Hicks, Leon Turner, and their families.
Jean will be sadly missed by her family and friends but instilled her faith that God's love would endure them through this time of grief.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, in the Thornfield Chapel with the Rev. Tom Johnson officiating.
Interment followed in the Thornfield Cemetery, under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home of Ava.
Memorials may be made to the Mt. Lebanon General Baptist Church or the Thornfield Cemetery.
Emmett Welch, Jr., 80

Emmett Welch, Jr., 80, of Milledgeville, Ga., died Monday, Oct. 24, 2005.
Mr. Welch was a native of Farmington, Mo., and had made his home in Milledgeville, Ga., for a number of years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, having served in World War II. He was a retired Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper, having been stationed in Ava and Festus.
He attended the Island Creek Baptist Church in Milledgeville and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Crystal City, Mo.
He is survived by two daughters, Sandra Davis, of Atlanta, Ga., and Barbara Hense, of St. Louis; one son, Stephen Welch, Minneapolis, Minn.; two sisters, Katherine Crider and Ruth Bayless, both of Farmington; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1 at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Milledgeville, Ga., with burial following under the direction of Williams Funeral Home and Crematory, Milledgeville, Ga.
Troy Ross Sanders, 77

Services for Troy Ross Sanders will be held at 9:30 a.m. today (Thursday, Dec. 1) in the sanctuary of Calvary Free Will Baptist Church, Claremore Okla., with the Rev. Tom Schulze officiating.
Burial will follow at 4 p.m. in the Jenkins Cemetery west of Ava, under the direction of Rice Funeral Service.
Troy passed away Saturday, Nov. 27, 2005, at St. John Medical Center, Tulsa. He was 77.
Born Nov. 14, 1928, at Gainesville, to F.A. and Macie (Powers) Sanders, they moved to Ava, when he was a child, where he was raised and received his education.
In 1947, Troy was married to Georgia Jenkins. He worked in a gas station and ran a milk route for a few years before moving to Washington state, where they resided for three years, before moving to Claremore, Okla., in 1951. Troy worked at Hesston for several years, later retiring from Centrilift in 1988, as a master machinist.
He accepted the Lord in 1953, at the First Free Will Baptist Church.
In 1971, he joined Calvary Free Will Baptist Church. Troy was an ordained deacon and served this position from 1954 to 2005.
He had served many other offices during these years.
Although God was number one in his life, he dearly loved his family. His children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were a blessing to him.
Troy enjoyed fishing with his brother-in-law, Jim Haas, and they always argued over who had the biggest fish. He also loved the Claremore Zebras. He didn’t miss many games until his illness, but still kept a personal record of their wins and losses, something he has done since 1956. After he and Georgia retired, they bought an RV and spent many pleasurable times fishing and traveling.
Troy is survived by his wife of 58 years, Georgia; two sons, Don Sanders and wife Karen, of Claremore, Okla., and Ron Sanders and wife Sheila, of Tulsa, Okla.; grandchildren, Stacey Randell and husband Brian of Tulsa, Okla., Heath Sanders and wife Mary of Claremore, Okla., Barry Sanders and wife Carrie of Broken Arrow, Okla., Russ Sanders and wife Amanda of Tulsa, Okla.; step-grandchildren Michelle Shook and husband Chris of Tulsa, Okla., Katherine Wagner and husband Tony of Tulsa, Okla., Fred Bell and wife Sherrie of Claremore, Okla.; great-grandchildren Chelsea, Tyler and Hunter Randell, Will, Maddie, Seth and Anna Sanders, Kristen, Jakeh, Jared and Kendra Sanders, and Robby Sanders; step-great-grandchildren Kenseigh Shook, JW and Gabby Thomas, and Hannah Wagner, Doug, Kala, Freddy and Travis Bell.
Also surviving are two brothers, Leonard Sanders, of Beaumont, Texas, Murl Sanders and wife Pat of Wagoner, Okla.; two sisters Amy Vreeland of Racine, Wisc., Verna Moses of Richmond, Ky. and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Melva D. Lupton, 63

Melva D. Lupton, 63, of Ozark, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2005, in Cox South Hospital, Springfield.
She was born Oct. 18 1942, in Ava, the daughter of Melvin and Juanita (Putnam) Rogers.
Melva was employed by Cox South Hospital where she spent a life of service to others and extended special care as a surgery technician. She was generous with her time, talents and enjoyed reading, family photographs, crocheting, fishing and especially loved horses.
A loving mother and exceptional grandmother, Melva is survived by four children, Carla Lupton of Ozark, Charles Lupton Jr. of Ava, Gary Lupton of Sparta, and Harlan Lupton and wife, Cathy, of Billings; two sisters, Norma Stillings of Ava, and Anna Goss of Lee's Summit; one grandchild; special friend, Ken Leigh; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many caring friends. Melva was preceded in death by her parents.
A celebration of life memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21, in Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark, with Pastor Jason Shaw officiating the service.
Visitation and family time was held one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. in the funeral home.
Burial followed in Bragg Cemetery west of Ava with the Rev. Oren Alcorn officiating, with burial under the direction of Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark.
