Clifford Walker, son of Rufus Walker and Ella (Harris) Walker, was born on July 27, 1918, in Girdner, Mo. (Douglas County) and departed this life on April 16, 2006, in his home in Ava, with his family surrounding him, at the age of 87 years, 8 months and 19 days.
He was a lifelong resident of the Ava community.
On July 26, 1946, Clifford and Naomi Elizabeth Turner were united in marriage at Mtn. Home, Ark., and to this union, one daughter was born.
He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church, Ava. Clifford loved and adored his family.
Clifford was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Ruby Walker and Lula Dye; one brother, Sammie Walker; and a grandson, Jason Byerley.
He is survived by his wife of 59 _ years, Naomi, of the home in Ava; one daughter and husband, Sue and Roy Byerley, Rogersville; a grandson and wife, Matthew Walker and Marissa Byerley, Nixa; a great-granddaughter, Emma Elizabeth Byerley and her mother Vicki Byerley, Ozark; one sister and husband, Alice and Clayton Rippee, Ava; one brother and wife, Leroy and Nancy Walker, Springfield; and a host of relatives and friends.
Graveside service was held Wednesday, April 19, at 10 a.m., at the Smith Cemetery, Rogersville, with the Rev. Nolan Carrier officiating.
Marvin L. Caudill, 67

Marvin L. Caudill, 67, of Taneyville, passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2006, in Skaggs Community Health Center, Branson.
He was born Dec. 5, 1938, at Chadwick, the son of James and Mary (Britton) Caudill.
On Jan. 30, 1959, he was united in marriage to Mary LaVon Barcus at Ava.
Marvin was a retired welder and former employee of Hutchens Industries Inc., Mansfield Steel Plant. He loved the outdoors and was an avid sportsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting and gathering wild mushrooms. Marvin was a hard worker but always managed to find time for his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
Marvin is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Mary; three daughters and their spouses, Loretta and Frankie Engelhardt of Ava, Lena and Wesley Robertson of Forsyth, and Laverna and Chad English of Norwood; one son, Jerry Caudill and wife Tammy, of Thornfield; five brothers, Virgil, Delmar, Kenneth, Leon, and Glen Caudill; three sisters Louise Rippee, Freida Rowe, and Ester Caudill; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and several caring friends.
Friends and family gathered at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 6, in Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark, for a "Celebration of Life Ceremony", honoring and celebrating Marvin's life.
Syble A. Burton, 78

Syble Burton, the daughter of Matt Morrison and Myrtle Miller Morrison, was born on April 21, 1928, in Douglas County, and departed this life on April 27, 2006, in Ava, at the age of 78 years and 6 days.
Syble was a lifelong resident of the Ava community. She was a housewife, homemaker and worked on the farm and garden with her husband, Roy.
On Sept. 21, 1945, Syble and Roy Burton were united in marriage in Ava, and to this union, five children were born.
She was a Christian and attended the Murray Church. Syble loved and adored her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Anna Jean Burton Cornett; two sons-in-law, Junior Harlin Cornett and Chuck Adams; and four sisters.
Syble is survived by her husband, Roy of the home in Ava; four children and their spouses, Alvin and Becky Burton, Ava, Joyce and Kenny Smith, Ava, Darlene Burton, Ozark, and Sue and Dennis Ramilo, Norwood; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one on the way; and one sister, Reba Turner, of Illinois; and a host of relatives and friends.
Graveside service will be Saturday, April 29, at 10 a.m. in the Murray Cemetery with the Rev.Tom Johnson officiating.
Love offerings may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.

Jerry Donald (Donnie) Evans, 51

Donnie Evans was born in Gainesville, on June 29, 1954, one of nine children born to Orville and Norma Hathcock Evans, and departed this life at the home of his son, Levi, south of Gentryville on April 29, 2006, at the age of 51.
Donnie graduated from Gainesville High School and married Patricia Dianne Lee on June 12, 1976, at the bride's parent's home at Gentryville. They later divorced.
Donnie is the father of two children, a son, Levi Evans, and a daughter, Crystal Evans.
When able to work, Donnie was an auto mechanic and, in later years, he loved fishing and hunting, especially with hounds, running coyote dogs and beagles, and often entering field trials with both breeds. His favorite things, however, were playing with his grandchildren and playing and listening to bluegrass music.
Donnie is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Levi and Venice Evans, of Gentryville, and his daughter, Crystal Evans, of Bakersfield. He is also survived by his four grandchildren, Adline, Whitney, and Hunter Evans, and Bently Adam Moody; five brothers and their wives, David and Delores Evans of Mtn. Grove, Bob and Wanda Evans of Mtn. Home, Ark., Jim and Regina Evans of Ava, Junior Evans of Tecumseh, and Larry and Rhonda Evans of Mtn. Home, Ark.; three sisters and their husbands, Linda and Junior McCrea of Houston, Annie Sloan of Mtn. Grove, and Fern and Francis Robertson of Mtn. Grove; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Donnie was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services for Jerry (Donnie) Evans were Tuesday, May 2, at 10 a.m. in Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava.
Memorial contributions may be made to Children's Mercy Hospital of Kansas City in care of the funeral home.

C.D. Brewer, 92, of Hernando, Miss., formerly of Ava, passed away May 2, 2006, in Desoto Healthcare, Southaven, Miss.
A former superintendent of schools at Ava, he was retired from the education department for the state of Missouri. He was a member of Hernando United Methodist Church, Hernando, Miss.
He is survived by a brother, H.D. Brewer and wife, Frances, of Hernando, Miss.; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hernando Funeral Home where visitation was held from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday.
Graveside service and interment will be at 2 p.m. today (Thursday) at the Ava Cemetery.
Eddie Dean Bray, 57

Edward “Eddie” Dean Bray, the son of Mathias Edward Bray and Lois Madeena (Hawkins) Bray, was born April 14, 1949, in Mound, Mo., and went to be with the Lord on May 2, 2006, at the age of 57 years and 18 days.
Eddie was a lifelong resident of the Ava area. He was a farmer and minister, and pastor of Mt. Ararat Missionary Baptist Church.
On March 16, 1973, Eddie and Kathy Darlene Hall were united in marriage in Ozark. Eddie and Kathy were blessed with four children.
Eddie loved and was involved in missions and bringing people to the Lord. His family and church family were very important to him.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming and the outdoors.
Eddie was preceded in death by his father, Mathias; and his father-in-law, Clayborn Metcalf.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy, of the home; four children, Reggie Bray and wife, Jessica, Houston, Tara Uhing and husband, Zach, Ava, Kayla Cunningham and husband, Justin, Bruner, and Kelse Bray, of the home, Ava; five grandchildren, Zachary, Nathan, and Joshua Bray, Jarin Cunningham, and Emma Uhing; his mother, Madeena Bray, Chadwick; two sisters, Jenean Gimlin and husband, Ed, of Ozark, and Connie Kissee and husband, Gary, Sparta; his mother-in-law, Ethel Metcalf, Brown Branch; a brother-in-law, Dale Hall and wife, Louise, Rockaway Beach; a sister-in-law, Ellen Everett and husband, Billy, Ava; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 5, at the Mound Church in Douglas County on T Highway with Bro. Ken Jones, Bro. Paul Pritchard and Bro. Oscar Cunningham officiating.
Interment will be in the Mills Cemetery.
Visitation is today (Thursday) from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava.
The family requests memorials to the Preach Evangelistic Ministries.

Andrew M. Hagaman, 87

Andrew M. Hagaman, son of Leroy S. Hagaman and Dorothy Parsons Hagaman, was born on Oct. 22, 1918, in Flushing, N.Y., and departed this life on May 3, 2006, in Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, at the age of 87 years.
Andy was a resident of the Ava community for many years. In Andy's lifetime, he worked at various occupations. After he had received his agriculture degree, he owned a nursery. He later became a fireman and a truck driver for Wallace Williams Trucking Co. He was an Army veteran of World War II, having achieved the rank of sergeant.
Andy was a custodian for the Douglas County Courthouse and later served the community as a Douglas County deputy sheriff for several years.
He was a member of the Dutch Reformed Church and attended the First Southern Baptist Church in Ava. Andy was a loving servant to this community and will be missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter.
He is survived by two daughters, one son and two grandsons. He is also survived by the Singleton family whom Andy was like a brother to for over 25 years.
Services will be held Saturday, May 6, at 2 p.m., at the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, with the Rev. Tom Maples officiating and eulogy given by Sheriff Gary Koop.
Interment will be in the Ava Cemetery with full military honors by American Legion Post 112 and VFW Post 5993.
Visitation is Saturday from 1 p.m. to service time at the funeral home.

Marie Rose Rolfsmeyer, 82

Marie Rose Rolfsmeyer, daughter of James Lloyd Lancaster and Marie Jeannette Diehl Lancaster, was born on Oct. 15, 1923, in St. Louis, and departed this life on April 26, 2006, in Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare, Ava, at the age of 82 years, 6 months and 11 days.
Marie was a resident of the Ava community for the past 2 1/2 years.
She had lived and worked most of her life in the Wentzville and St. Louis area. She was a retired telephone operator for Southwestern Bell for many years. She also worked for the defense plant and was a cook for Thornberry's in Wentzville.
On May 15, 1946, Marie and Harry Rolfsmeyer were united in marriage in St. Louis and to this union, four children were born.
Marie was a Christian and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in St. Louis.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harry in 1994, and a son, Charles Robert.
She is survived by three children, Harry James "Butch" Rolfsmeyer, Ava, Debra Jeanne Schnyder, St. Peters, and James Robert "Jim" Rolfsmeyer, Wentzville; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, James Robert Lancaster, Fort Myers, Fla.; and a host of relatives and friends.
Graveside service was held Friday, April 28, at 1 p.m., in the Eternal Peace Cemetery, Wentzville, with the Rev. Max Hemmela officiating.
Services were under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava.
Lorene Dixon, 90

Lorene (Haynes) Dixon went home to be with the Lord on April 24, 2006 at 4:30 p.m.
She was born on Feb. 28, 1916, in Ava, Douglas County.
She accepted the Lord as her savior on Sept. 30, 1938, and was baptized on Oct. 2, 1938. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in the Basher community where she was an active member for many years.
This special lady took pride in her homemaking and had it down to a fine art. She also enjoyed gardening, quilting and reading the Bible most of all. The stories of our family history that she shared has enriched all of our lives immensely. Among her many life experiences, none were greater than the birth of her two children, whom she loved dearly and spoke of often. Many thanks to her daughter-in-law Bonnie who was more like her daughter than daughter-in-law as they grew very close in almost 50 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Maude Haynes, husband Roy Dixon, step-daughter Joan and siblings, Vurbel Deatherage, Gladys Haynes and Henry "Murphy" Haynes.
She is survived by two children, Joe Turner and wife, Bonnie, and Sheila Hanks and husband, Larry; six grandchildren, Joy Rhodes and husband, John, Jerry Turner, Jeff Turner and wife, Patty, Randy Turner and wife, Aimee, Kira Bench and husband, Aaron, and Tiffany Hanks; 10 great-grandchildren, Holly Kleier and husband, Aaron, Timothy Rhodes, Jera Jo Crossland and husband, CJ, Cody Turner, Dylan Turner, Craig Turner, Dakota Turner, Hailey Turner, Brittney Turner and Kaylea Ann Bench; two great-great-grandchildren, Kylie Jo and Ashley Erin.
Graveside services will be held at Dyer Cemetery on Friday, April 28 at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Steve Rear officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Friendship Baptist Church in the Basher community.
Jewel Marsh, 96

Jewel Marsh, age 96, of Aldrich, Mo., was born on July 4, 1909 to Cornelius Buckvest Dean and Amanda (Johnson) Dean at Brown Branch in Taney County.
She went to her heavenly reunion on Friday, April 21, 2006 at her Aldrich home.
Mrs. Marsh had returned to Missouri in August 2004, after a 70-year absence.
She moved to California in 1936 where she met and married Verbie A. Marsh in 1945.
They resided there until his death in 1972. She was a former resident of Yucaipa, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Roy and Roscoe Dean, two sisters, Stella A. Baird, formerly of Willard, and D. Hazel Dixon of St. Louis, formerly of Brown Branch.
Surviving are three nieces, Mary Etta Staley of the home, Ella Jean Heigham and husband Lew, of St. Louis, and Barbara A. Dooly and husband Ron, of Rhome, Texas; two great-nephews, Tre Heigham and wife Melissa, St. Louis, and Travis Dooly and wife Melissa of Rhome, Texas; four great-nieces, Angelia Gillis and husband Glen, of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Juanita Heigham and husband Yuki Kunisada of Nagoya, Japan, Jennifer Grand and husband John, of Aldrich, and Rhonda Dooly of Grapevine, Texas; three great-great-nephews, Owen Heigham, St. Louis, and Braden and Dakota Grant, Aldrich; and one great-great-niece, Emily Heigham of St. Louis.
A celebration of her life was held Monday, April 24, at 6 p.m. in the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar with the Rev. Frank Childers officiating.
Burial will be on Friday, April 28, at the Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier, Calif.
