Glenna V. Gregg was born May 24, 1930, in Stettler, Alberta, Canada, the sixth of eight children born to Dewey and Alice Lillian Cash.
Glenna passed away on Sunday, Nov. 5, 2006, at her rural home in Ava, following a lengthy bout with brain cancer.
She was the mother of five children which she raised by herself following the death of her first husband, A.F. Lowe, in 1967, in Douglas, Alaska.
Later she moved to Anchorage, Alaska, where she married Harry D. Case in 1973.
Harry was a construction superintendent for Baugh Construction.
Harry and Glenna moved to Red Bluff, Calif., in 1986, following his retirement to a life filled with their many hobbies.
Harry passed away in 1993, after a long history of heart problems, leaving her with an English walnut orchard of more than 450 trees which she maintained by herself.
In 2000, she married Charles (Chuck) Gregg, a longtime friend from Alaska.
Chuck and Glenna then moved to Ava, where he had owned a farm for a number of years.
Glenna is survived by her husband, Charles, of Ava; and by her five children, daughters, Landa Baily, Ginny Barnes, and Fryth Huggins, and sons Archie and Roderick Lowe, as well as 11 grandchildren.
She will be long remembered for her kindness and consideration of small children amongst her church family, especially at Christmas time.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 20, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Nixa.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society in her name.
Interment of her ashes will be in Kent, Wash., in early spring 2007.
Adeline Duckworth, 83

Adeline F. Curnutt Duckworth was born on Nov. 28, 1922 in Thornfield, the daughter of Arthur Albert Humbyrd and Ada A. (Burden) Humbyrd. Adeline peacefully passed away after an extensive illness on Oct. 30, 2006 at Primrose Healthcare Center in Springfield.
Adeline, a child of God, practiced her Baptist faith since early adulthood. She lived most of her life in Missouri and the state of Washington. Adeline was a skilled beautician of 28 years.
On July 2, 194l, Adeline and Fred Curnutt were united in marriage in Ava. Fred and Adeline were blessed with two children, Bill and Betty.
Preceding Adeline in death were her parents, Arthur and Ada Humbyrd; four brothers; five sisters; and her first husband and father of their children, Fred Curnutt.
A loving wife and mother, Adeline is survived by her second husband of 23 years, Herman Duckworth; children, Bill and his wife, Audrey Curnutt, Sioux Falls, S.D., and daughter, Betty Curnutt, Springfield.
Also surviving are grandchildren Cynthia LaDue, David Curnutt and Nathan Hamilton; great-grandson Michael Dowdy; and a sister, Mary Norton and husband, Gene, Eufalla, Okla. Adeline also leaves five stepchildren and their families, LeRoy Duckworth and wife, Pam, Lloyd Duckworth and wife, Jean, Sharon Morton and husband, Steve, Judy McClure and husband, Les, and Carol Blankenship, all from the state of Washington; 12 step-grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends will celebrate the life of this loving and courageous woman today (Nov. 2) in Ava.
Visitation will be at 1 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with graveside service to follow at 2 p.m. in the Ava Cemetery with the Rev. Arnold Day officiating.
Memorials may be made to the charity of choice.
Glenda Stewart Grisham, 89

Glenda Fay Stewart Grisham, the daughter of William Richard "Chigger Bill" Graham and Rutha Ann (Welch) Graham, was born on March 16, 1917, at Hilo, Mo., in Douglas County.
Glenda went to be with the Lord Oct. 25, 2006 at the age of 89.
On Jan. 15, 1943, Glenda married Ancil "Tom" Stewart in Reno, Nev. Glenda and Ancil were blessed with three children.
In July of 1959, Glenda and "Tom," and their three children, moved back to Douglas County, Mo.
"Tom" went to be with the Lord on Jan. 8, 1979.
On Jan. 3, 1988, at the young age of 70, Glenda married Roger L. Grisham and moved to Taney County, where she attended New Mansion Baptist Church.
Roger preceded Glenda in death and went to be with the Lord Aug. 8, 2004.
Glenda was also preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, one sister, Thelma Sanders, two brothers, Harvey and Doil Graham.
Glenda enjoyed her church and neighbors and people enjoyed being with her. She loved to visit and be with her friends and family.
Glenda is survived by one son, Tom Stewart, Ava; two daughters, Dorothy Davis, Ava, Rosemary Barnett and husband, Ralph, Inola, Okla.; four grandchildren, Stuart Zimmerman and wife, Gina, Claremore, Okla., Marilee Ormiston and husband, Andrew, Sparta, Sheila Davis, Sullivan, and Jordan Davis, Ava; six great-grandchildren, Abby, Maggie, and Zoe Zimmerman, Ancil, Bruce and Jesse Ormiston; several nieces, nephews, and lots of relatives and friends.
Services were at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 30, in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with the Revs. Tom Johnson and Jeff Marsh officiating.
Visitation was held Sunday from 5 to 6 p.m. in the funeral home.
Interment was in the Oak Grove Cemetery.

Cleo Avery Simpson, 80

Cleo Avery Simpson went to be with the Lord on Oct. 8, 2006.
He was born Jan. 1, 1926, at Pond Fork, Mo.
An Army veteran of World War II, Cleo served in the European Theater. He was in the Army's 45th Division quarter Master Corps, and helped liberate Dackau. After the war, he worked as a log truck driver, millwright and supervisor in various mills, retiring from P.W.T. in 1989.
Cleo faithfully attended the Nazarene Church of Ridgefield. His many memberships included the Daybreak Beagle Club, proudly receiving many awards from them; C.V.O.T.MA.; C.R.O.T.S.; and the N.W. Blue Grass Association.
Cleo was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia; a daughter, Linda; two brothers, Basil Simpson, Thornfield, and Leon Simpson, Woodland, Wash.; and one sister, Shirley Goodnight, Sapulpa, Okla.
Survivors include his wife, Vicky; two daughters, Glenda Christian of Monroe, Wash., and Judy Dix, of Woodland, Wash.; two sons, Gerald Simpson, of Boise, Idaho, and Jesse Simpson, of Kelso, Wash.; stepdaughter Nancy Bowers, of Hartsville, Tenn.; Stepson, Jim Weldon, Orchards, Wash.; six sisters, Goldie Hart, Sedalia, Irene Humbyrd, Woodland, Wash., Lorene Hayes, Woodland, Wash., Clella Record and husband, Clarence, Longview, Wash., Utha Hayden and husband, Edward, Goldendale, Wash., and Bertha Kilkelly, Kalama, Wash.; plus grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Interment was in Willamette National Cemetery, Portland, Ore.
Wilbur Martin Turner, 69

Wilbur Turner was born on Oct. 26, 1936, the son of William Etcyl Turner and Mildred Caldonia (Plumb) Turner, at Squires, Mo., and departed this life on Oct. 21, 2006, at the age of 69.
Wilbur grew up in the Squires community and graduated from Ava High School. He worked as a welder. Wilbur loved his family, working outdoors, especially with timber, visiting and playing cards with friends. He was always happy to see people.
In 1959, Wilbur and Shirley Riley were united in marriage and to this union, three daughters and one son were born.
On Aug. 12, 1976, Wilbur and Brenda Jean (McCullough) Carlson were united in marriage in Thornfield, and to this union, one son was born.
She preceded him in death.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Brenda; one son, Dale Turner; one sister Opal; and two brothers, Dale and Gary Turner.
Survivors include three daughters, Lois Honeycutt, of Lutie, Dottie Maggard, Walnut Grove, and Lottie Jo Clayton, of Lutie; two sons, Jackie Carlson of Phoenix, Ariz., and Jason Turner, of Springfield; three sisters, Loretta Burton, Ava, Barbara Cowart; Gainesville, and Arlene Walker, of Squires; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home Ava, with the Rev. Tom Johnson officiating and burial in Murray Cemetery.
Visitation was from 1 p.m. until service time Wednesday.
Services were under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava.
Joyce Irene Jones, 65

Joyce Irene Jones, daughter of Byran V. and Opal Irene (Hylton) Conley, was born July 25, 1941, near Ava, Missouri.
She departed this life Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2006, in Heart of the Ozarks Health Care Center, in Ava, at the age of 65.
In 1960, she was united in marriage to Sheldon Jones and to this union, one daughter was born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a nephew, Doug Conley; and a special niece Angela (Brazeal) Adamson.
Joyce is survived by a daughter, Gireda Moulds, and her husband, Jason, of Billings; two grandchildren, Shiane and Stetson Moulds, both of Billings; three brothers, Gene Conley, and his wife, Louise, of Mansfield, Billy Conley, and his wife, Karen, of Mountain Grove, and Danny Conley, and his wife, Janice, of Seligman; two sisters, Lena Brazeal, and her husband, Bill, and Linda Davis, and her husband, Gerald, all of Mansfield; a number of nieces and nephews, including two special nieces, Chanda Box, and Madison Box; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in Douglas County and attended Ava High School.
She resided in Springfield, throughout most of her life, and worked as a hairdresser. Her family was very important to her and she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Joyce attended the Higher Vision Worship Center, in Rogersville, where she enjoyed her fellowship.
In her spare time, she enjoyed going to garage sales, cooking, embroidering, spending time in her garden and growing beautiful flowers. She also loved listening to her brothers play music.
Joyce was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she has created for her family and friends.
Services will be held Friday, Oct. 27, at 11 a.m. in Mansfield Cemetery, under direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Mansfield.
Visitation will be held this evening from 6-7:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
Rev. Charles Jefferson Lynn, 84

Rev. Charles Jefferson Lynn, son of Charles William Lynn and Annabell (Brewer) Lynn, was born Dec. 25, 1921 in Huntsville, Mo., and departed this life Nov. 13, 2006 at the age of 84.
Charles lived in the Ava area for several years. After retirement from the railroad, he was employed in concrete construction. He enjoyed church, playing guitar, singing gospel music, witnessing for the Lord and never met a stranger. He attended Oldfield Full Gospel Church.
On June 10, 200l, Charles and Euneeda Heath were united in marriage in Seymour, Mo.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lela Lynn; and three sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Euneeda Lynn, of the home, Ava; one brother, Albert Lynn, Hanna City, Ill.; one sister, Dolores Hurtado, Las Cruces, N.M.; several nieces and nephews, step-children, grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 17, in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with the Rev. Benny DeWitt and Brother Leslie Buckner officiating.
Interment will follow in the Ava Cemetery.
Visitation will be today (Thursday) from 6 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home.

Erna Sidonja Watson, 71

Erna Sidonja Watson, daughter of August Michel and Anna (Scholz) Michel, was born May 13, 1935 in Weckelsdorf, Czechslovakia, and departed this life Nov. 8, 2006, in her home surrounded by her loving family at the age of 7l.
In 1960, Erna and Georg Kraus were united in marriage in Germany, and to this union, four children were born.
He preceded her in death.
She married Michael Watson in 1974, in Germany and to this union, one daughter was born.
Erna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Georg; one son, Karl-Heinz; one great-grandson, Tyler Dobbs; two brothers, and nine sisters.
Erna loved traveling, crocheting, gardening, puzzles, spending time with her family and friends. When she was younger she enjoyed dancing the waltz and the tango. Erna attended the Goodhope Nazarene Church.
Erna will be remembered by her smile and the positive outlook she had on life. She always saw the good in people.
She is survived by her four children and their spouses, Helga and Gary Emrick, Ava, Birgit and Danny Hylton, Avilla, Mo., Georg and Sandra Kraus, Rockaway Beach, and Tamika and Willie Henry, Ava; 17 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; five sisters, Anna Sebald, Hilda Rotschka, Margot Laugner, Johanna Anders and Helene Scholze, all of Germany; a special friend, Violet Blakey, Ava; and many other relatives and friends.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10, at the Clinkingbeard Chapel with the Rev. Vernon Fuller officiating.
Interment followed in the Ava Cemetery.
