Margaret Moran, 83, of Springfield, passed away at 9:50 p.m. Monday, Jan. 29, 2007, at Manor Care.
She was born April 20, 1923, in Whitburn, Scotland, the daughter of Hugh and Mary (Clarkin) Friel.
She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church and the Senior Group.
If asked what she was proudest of, Margaret would have said,"Raising 12 children."
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Joseph, son Patrick Sean, and granddaughter Andrea Russell.
Margaret is survived by Edward James and Jill, of Nixa, Margaret and Fred Bullough, Kingwood, Texas, Father Michael Moran, Tenafly, N.J., Francis and Laura, Camden Point, Mo., Joseph and Lyn of Thorofare, N.J., Kevin and Trish, Wasola, Daniel and Cindy, Plano, Texas, James and Leslie, John and Teresa, Karen, Kathleen, and Peter, all of Springfield; a sister, Mamie Francois, and a brother, James Friel, both of Providence, R.I.; 23 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m., Friday, Feb. 2, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church with the Rev. Michael Moran and Monsignor Thomas Reidy celebrants.
Burial will be in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery under the direction of Walnut Lawn Funeral Home.
Visitation will be today (Thursday) from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Walnut Lawn Funeral Home, Springfield, followed by the Rosary at 8:30.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Society of African Missions or to a charity of the donor's choice.
Larry Von Booth, 66

Larry Von Booth, 66, Ava, Missouri, formerly of Springfield, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2007, in Cox South Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born March 30, 1940, to Roscoe and Marie Booth in Collins, Mississippi.
Larry was the youngest of four children, with two older brothers and one sister. He graduated from Fair Grove High School in 1957, and during High School began working as a meat cutter, a trade that later lead him to be a successful businessman. Larry owned Booth's So-Lo Market and two laundromats in Springfield.
Larry married his first wife, June, in April 1962, with whom he had two daughters Dara and Tara.
On Sept. 19, 2005, Larry was united in marriage to Martha Stillings.
He and Martha enjoyed scenic train rides and traveling during their time together.
Larry came to know the Lord on April 4, 2002, and enjoyed attending the Highway Church of the Nazarene.
He proudly served his country for two years in the National Guard.
His passion in life was for antique cars and attending car shows, and as a young man even enjoyed drag racing. Larry also enjoyed fishing, boating, attending sporting events of his grandchildren and spending time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and infant daughter, Dara.
Larry is survived by his loving wife Martha; daughter, Tara Dorsey and husband, Brian, of Springfield; three stepsons Leroy Stillings and wife, Teresa, Leslie Stillings and wife, Carla, all of Ava, and Mark Stillings and wife, Barbie of Nixa; two brothers, Hollis Booth, of Brookline, and Gene Booth and wife, Maxine, of Willard; a sister, Joan Highfill and husband, Hunter, of Springfield; two granddaughters, Danielle and Nicole Dorsey; six step-grandsons; four step-great-granddaughters; two aunts, Lucille Booth, of Springfield, and Freida Bruer, of Alabama; an uncle, Vaughn Booth, of Springfield; a very special niece, Brenda Sloan and her children Jenny, Crissy and Dustin, of Texas; the mother of his children, June Booth; many close friends and other relatives.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 29, in Highway Church of the Nazarene, Ava, under the direction of Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark, with Pastor Mark Hatcher, Pastor Dustin Ledford, and Pastor Terry Allcorn officiating. Burial with full military honors was held at 2 p.m. in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Springfield.
Visitation was held from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 28, in Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark.
Memorial contributions are suggested to South Side Senior Center, American Cancer Society, Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation or Gideons International.
Florence Plumb, 90

Florence Plumb, 90, of Moline, Ill., died Friday, Jan. 26, 2007, at Heartland Health Care Center, Moline, Ill.
Florence was born Jan. 2, 1917, in Wyoming, the daughter of Flora and William "Howard" Bowden.
She married Virgil Plumb on April 10, 1937, in Wasola.
Florence moved from Missouri to Illinois in 1957 with her family.
She loved being with her family and friends and preparing big meals to share. She had a very loving attitude and one of her favorite sayings was "There is good in everybody." Her family was her life.
Survivors (and spouses) include sons, Albert (Ellen) Plumb, Moline, Ill., Jim (Mable) Plumb, Geneseo, Ill., Larry (Vicky) Plumb, Moline, Ill., and Leon (Mary) Plumb, East Moline, Ill.; daughters, Kathy (Victor) Maddalozzo, Milan, Ill., Naomi (Dick) Sundquist, Moline, Ill., Vicki Plumb, Moline, and Verba Plumb, Oklahoma City, Okla.; 22 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marjorie Addis, Gainesville.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Virgil, in 1999; great-granddaughter, Taylor Plumb; parents, Howard and Flora Bowden; sisters, Elizabeth Brown, Mary Julian and Betty Hodge; and a brother, Alvin Bowden.
Visitation was held from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, Ill.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Murray Church, Squires, with visitation two hours prior to the service at the church.
Ava Family Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Murray Cemetery, Squires, or Girdner Church.
Leland M. Warden, 85

Leland M. Warden, 85, was lovingly welcomed into Heaven on Dec. 1, 2006.
Leland was born Nov. 24, 1921 in Silverton, Mo. He was the eldest of seven children born to Mark and Hattie Warden.
He attended Southwest Bible College in Bolivar. Upon completion, he began teaching.
In the early 1940, he relocated and went to work at Hanford, Calif., for DuPont. He then served honorably in the Air Force, once again returning to Richland, Wash. He continued to work there, in various positions in management, until his retirement. No matter what position he held, he always worked extremely hard, giving it his all.
After retirement, having already been struck by Parkinson's disease, he committed his time, effort and energy to medical research and helping others afflicted by the disease. He was the Parkinson's Support Group Leader for the Neurological Center, a job which he wholeheartedly devoted countless hours to every day. One of the proudest moments of his life was when he was honored with a special dinner and a plaque bestowing an honorary doctorate on him by Drs. Lahiri and Washington. Eventually the Parkinson's progressed, coupled with strokes, and he was no longer able to do the support work he so loved.
Leland is survived by wife, Cora of Richland, Wash.; his daughters, Jann Hughes (Larry) of Kent, Wash.; and Karen (Scott) Samuelson of Kennewick, Wash.; also granddaughters, Noell (Frank) Blavka and Bethany Samuelson.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Neurological Center, in Richland, Wash. A graveside memorial service will be held at a later date.
Jerry Dennis Williams, 73

Jerry Dennis Williams, 73, was born on Sept. 16, 1933, in Douglas County, near Dogwood, the son of Tilden Curtis Williams and Ruby Olive Pruett Williams.
He went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Jan. 23, 2007, at Springfield, after a short illness.
Jerry and Patsy Jane Johnson were united in marriage on Feb. 17, 1954, at Richland.
Jerry enjoyed fishing, especially sitting by the side of the pond on the family homestead. His father passed on a love of baseball games, and Jerry shared this devotion to the Cardinals with everyone. He never missed a game. He loved his family deeply and often shared fishing trips and ballgames with the boys. He was retired from Ford Motor Company after 38 years of helping people as a service advisor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, John David Williams.
Survivors include his wife, Patsy Williams, of the home; three sons, Michael Williams, Scott Williams and Ronald Williams, all of the Dogwood community; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers, Wayne Williams and Harold Williams, both of Ozark, and Rodney Williams, of Niangua; and a host of friends and other relatives.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 27, at 2 p.m., in the Pleasant Ridge Southern Baptist Church, Dogwood, with burial following in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.
All arrangements were under the care and direction of Ava Family Funeral Home.
John Patrick O'Dowd, 34

John Patrick O'Dowd, the son of William M. O'Dowd and Karen "Hood" Pahal, was born March 14, 1972 in St. Louis, and departed this life Jan. 16, 2007, at the age of 34 years.
John grew up in Belleville, Ill.
He was a resident of the Ava area since 2000, moving here from Branson.
John was a member of the Roman Catholic Church.
John was preceded in death by his father, William M. O'Dowd.
He is survived by his mother, Karen Pahal, Trish and Pat Bohn, and Moriah O'Dowd, all of Ava; Kathleen O'Dowd, Michael O'Dowd and Nancy Meyers; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
Services were held at 10 a.m., Monday, Jan. 22, in St. Leo's Catholic Church in Ava, with Father Paul Wightman officiating.
Memorials may be made to Special Olympics in care of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home.
Vertis Myers, 77

Vertis Myers, son of Oneil Myers and Minnie (Kimble) Myers was born July 15, 1929, in Louisiana, and departed this life Jan. 18, 2007, at the age of 77.
Vertis was a resident of the Thornfield area for the past 20 years, moving from Louisiana. Vertis was a medic with the U.S. Air Force, serving 20 years during World War II, Korean War, and Viet Nam.
He was a member of the Thornfield Southern Baptist Church.
On Nov. 1, 1955, Vertis and Ina Joy Coston were united in marriage in Woodville, Miss. Vertis and Ina were blessed with three children.
Vertis was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, John Myers.
He is survived by his wife, Ina Joy of the home, Thornfield; three children, Richard Myers, Thornfield, Cynthia Johnson, Montana, and Ronald Myers, Louisiana; three grandchildren; four brothers, Dean Myers and Roger Myers, both of Louisiana, Mack Myers and Larry Myers, both of Texas; four sisters, Lena Brown, Louisiana, Janice Adams, Mississippi, Faye Howard, Louisiana, Florence Debetaz, Louisiana; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, Jan. 22, at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with the Rev. Barry DeWeese officiating.
Interment followed in the Thornfield Cemetery.
The family requests memorials to the Southern Baptist Church of Thornfield or Thornfield Cemetery.
Timothy Andrews, 44

Timothy Patrick Andrews, son of Dearl James Andrews and Pauline "Polly" (Hopper) Andrews, was born Dec. 15, 1962 in Modesto, Calif., and passed away Jan. 22, 2007, at the age of 44.
On May 1, 1999, in Reno, Nev., Timothy and Sheila R. McAfee were united in marriage.
Tim enjoyed working on cars, his horse and most of all spending time with his family.
Timothy is preceded in death by his father, Dearl and one sister, Pam.
Survivors include his wife, Sheila, of the home; his mother, Pauline Andrews, of Waterford, Calif.; five children, Jeff, Justin, Jessica, Anthony, and Dustin, all of the home; six brothers and sisters, Randy Andrews of Utah, Linda of Oregon, Ballery Murray of Waterford, Calif., Amber Ryan, of Waterford, Calif., Marlin Andrews of Squires, and Susie of Modesto, Calif.; five grandchildren, David "Knot Head", Jenny "Daisy Mae", Connie "Piglet", Philip "Gazoo", and Justin Jr. "Monster Man"; nephew, Ronnie McAfee, of Mtn. Grove; and many other nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, at Frye Cemetery located near Squires, with Roger Evans officiating.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
