Norris Vincent Oxner, the son of Norris Newbern Oxner and Theda Dean (Ermer) Oxner, was born June 26, 1965, in Helena, Ark., and departed this life Nov. 24, 2006, at the age of 41.
Vince was a resident of Ozark, since 1995, moving from West Plains. He was employed as a purchasing manager for the trucking industry for several years.
On June 22, 2002, Vince and Melanie Dawn Robertson were united in marriage in Ava, and to this union, a son was born.
Vince was a member of the Baptist Church and an officer of the Christian Co. Ducks Unlimited. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being with his family.
Vince is survived by his wife, Melanie; his son, Luke Mcrae Oxner of the home, Ozark; his parents, Norris and Theda Oxner, Mtn. Home, Ark.; one sister, Victoria Lynne Oxner, Ozark; father and mother-in-law, Rex and Judy Robertson, Thornfield; two sisters-in-law, Kelly Evans and husband, Mark, and Sherry Garrison and husband, Mike; one brother-in-law, Kevin Robertson and wife, Sherri; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with the Rev. Robert Roberts officiating.
Interment followed in the Thornfield Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Luke Oxner Scholarship Fund in care of the funeral home.
Cecil Walker, 70

Cecil Walker was born Oct. 19, 1936, in Ava, the son of Martin Walker and Dorothy (Potter) Walker, and departed this life Nov. 24, 2006 at the age of 70.
Cecil was a life-long resident of the Ava area.
On March 26, 1960 Cecil and Arlene Turner were united in marriage in Ava, and to this union, three children were born.
Cecil attended Girdner Church. Cecil was a Christian and was baptized. Cecil enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and being with his family.
Cecil was preceded in death by his father, one son, Billy John Walker in 1999, a granddaughter, Kayla Arlene Walker, one brother, Lester Walker, one sister, Agnes Pettybone, a half sister, Okima and a daughter-in-law, Debbie Walker.
He is survived by his wife, Arlene, of the home; his mother, Dorothy McIntosh, of Arkansas; one daughter, Carla Walker Kaiser, and one son, Damon Walker, both of Squires; five grandchildren, Chad Armel, Brandon Walker, Levi Thornsberry, Tyler and Sarah Walker; four great-grandchildren, Gavyn Cecil, Caitlin, Katrina and Stevie; two brothers, Lee Walker and Marvin Walker, both of Mansfield; special friends, Gerald and Cindy Ingram; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 27, in the Murray Church, Squires, with the Rev. Tom Johnson officiating.
Interment followed in the Murray Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
Dorothy LeVelle, 88

Dorothy Irene LeVelle, the daughter of Frank LeVelle and Mary Irene (Haymaker) LeVelle, was born May 16, 1918, in Iowa, and departed this life Nov. 26, 2006 at the age of 88.
Dorothy was a resident of Ava since 1975, moving to Ava from Florida.
Dorothy operated a general store in Florida for several years and was employed with Collins Electric before retirement. Dorothy was a member of the Ava Church of Christ. She loved gardening, crossword puzzles and baking cookies for all her family.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Marvin and Marion, one sister, Lola McKinley.
She is survived by two brothers, W.J. "Bill" LeVelle and wife, Judy, Walnut Shade, and Leonard LeVelle, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; two sisters, Mary June Miller and husband, Ben, Vinton, Iowa, and Della Walthart, Independence, Iowa; many nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with Brad Smith officiating.
Interment will be Friday, Dec. 1, in Cox Cemetery near Vinton, Iowa.
Clyde W. Orick, 79

Clyde Wesley Orick, age 79, of Oldfield, passed away Monday, Nov. 20, 2006, at Century Pines in Ozark.
He was born Aug. 4, 1927, in Pound, Va., the son of Phillip and Dorthula (Wells) Orick Hughes.
On April 3, 1948 he and his wife, Velma Faye Maggard, were united in marriage.
Mr. Orick worked in coal mines before moving to this area and working in the timber business. He always loved to hunt and fish whenever possible.
He was a member of Eastern Gate Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include four sons, James Orick and wife Linda, Oldfield, Doug Orick and wife, Diane, Fort Gibson, Okla., Charles Orick, Fort Gibson, Okla., and Roger Hawkins and wife Marie, of North Carolina; two daughters, Kathy Lunday, Sparta, and Christine Lakey and husband Christopher, Dogwood; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Velma Faye; a daughter, Shirley Goodwin; an infant son, Clyde Orick Jr.; a grandson, Bryan Goodwin; a brother, James Orick; and his parents.
He was an Air Force veteran of World War II.
Edward E. Stafford, 79

Edward E. Stafford, the son of Ottie Stafford and Nancy (Shipman) Stafford, was born Feb. 12, 1927, in Roy, Mo., and departed this life Nov. 23, 2006, at the age of 79.
Ed was a resident of Chadwick for more than 20 years. He was a farmer and a member of the Mound Baptist Church.
On May 19, 1945 Ed and Winnie Marie Blakey were united in marriage at Goodhope. Ed and Winnie were blessed with two sons.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, and fishing.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Ralph and Rupert Stafford, and a sister, Ruth Moore.
Ed is survived by his wife, Winnie, of the home; two sons, Dale Stafford and wife, Sue, of Billings, and Dallas Stafford and wife, Jana, Sparta; four grandchildren, Matt Stafford and wife, Christie, Marionville, Adam Stafford, Kansas City, Dusty Stafford, Nixa, Joey Mills and wife, Jenny, Ozark; four great-grandchildren, Geoffrey and Katie Stafford, Jacob and Julia Mills; one sister, Barbara McKnight, Ozark; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27, in the Mound Baptist Church with the Rev. Ken Jones officiating.
Interment followed in the Goodhope Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Mound Baptist Church.
David Leon Evans, 55

David Leon Evans, son of the late Orville and Norma (Hathcock) Evans, was born on April 25,1951, in Gainesville, and departed this life on Nov. 23, 2006, at his home in Mtn. Grove.
He was 55 years of age.
Dave was raised in the Tecumseh community and attended Dawt School. Dave worked at Killians Gas Station in West Plains for several years. He later moved to Mtn. Grove and went to work for Norman Allen at the OK Tire Store in 1970.
He was united in marriage to Delores Harris on August 30, 1975. Three children were born to this union.
In 1987, Dave opened Northside Tire and Wheel in Mtn. Grove, where he owned and operated his business until his passing. He made many friends through his business and never seemed to meet a stranger. Dave enjoyed bluegrass music and he loved going to bluegrass festivals. He enjoyed playing his mandolin, hunting, fishing, going to auctions collecting pocket knives, and visiting with his many family and friends. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Besides his parents, Dave was preceded in death by one brother, Donnie; one brother-in-law, Mac Sloan; and by one nephew, Scottie Sloan.
He is survived by his loving wife, Delores, of their home; two sons, Jason Evans and Josh Evans, both of Mtn. Grove; one daughter, Leasa Evans, of Mtn. Grove; four brothers, Bob Evans and his wife, Wanda, of Mtn. Home, Ark., Jim Evans and his wife, Regina, of Ava, Junior Evans, of Tecumseh, and Larry Evans and his wife, Rhonda, of Mtn. Home, Ark.; three sisters, Linda McCrea and her husband, Junior, of Houston, Annie Sloan, of Mtn. Grove, and Fern Robertson and her husband, Francis, of Mtn. Grove; several nephews and nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces.
Funeral services for Dave Evans were held Monday, Nov. 27, at 10 a.m. in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel, Mtn. Grove, with the Rev. Reg Kelly officiating.
Burial was in the Clear Springs Cemetery in Ozark County under the direction of the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Mtn. Grove.
Brandon Lynn Lansdown, 21

Brandon Lynn Lansdown, son of Steve and Faye Lavonne (Ramsey) Lansdown, was born on March 5, 1985; he departed this life, Monday, Nov. 20, 2006, near Ava, at the age of 21.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harold and Annette Lansdown, and James and Hattie Ramsey.
He is survived by his mother, Faye Butts, and her husband Bradley, of Hartville; his father, Steve Lansdown, of Ava; two brothers, James Lansdown, of Ava, Missouri, and Stephen Lansdown, of Hartville; two sisters, Amanda Kilgore, of Mansfield, and Della Lansdown, of Ava; a grandmother, Earline Lansdown, of Norwood; three step-brothers, Joe Butts, of Hartville, John Butts, of Springfield, and J.R. Butts, of Mountain Grove; one step-sister, Dawn Kaufman, of Clarksville, Tenn.; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Brandon spent most of his life in the Mansfield and Ava communities, and in his spare time he loved horseback riding, hunting, and fishing, as well as spending time with his families and friends.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 22, at Holman-Howe Chapel, Mansfield, with the Rev. Don Graham officiating.
Interment was in Mansfield Cemetery.
Wayne Neil Prock, 80

Wayne Neil Prock, the son of Neil Prock and Elma (Shelton) Prock, was born Jan. 23, 1926, in Almartha, and departed this life Nov. 15, 2006, at the age of 80.
Wayne was a resident of Ava for the past 12 years, moving from Texas.
Wayne served his country during World War II with the U.S. Navy. He was a musician and was formerly employed in radio broadcasting. He enjoyed traveling the country, playing country music and radio broadcasting.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Alfred and Alvie, a sister Verna Gardner, and an infant sister.
He is survived by two brothers, Gerald and Ralph Prock of California; nephews Russell Prock and Eugene Gardner, also nieces Flo Etta Williamson and Elma Collins, all of the area; as well as several other nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, at the Souder Cemetery with Harlin Howerton officiating.
Visitation was Monday from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava.
