Beulah Dean Davis was born April 18, 1920 in Douglas County, and departed this life Sept. 25, 2007 at the age of 87 years 5 months and 7 days. She was the daughter of Charley Davis and Addie Dean Davis.
Beulah was a resident of Tulsa, Okla., for the past 50 years. Beulah was employed as a bookkeeper for an oil company before her retirement. Beulah enjoyed needle point, bridge and was an active member of St. Johns Episcopal Church of Tulsa, Okla.
Beulah was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Rayma Yeoman. She is survived by numerous cousins.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 28, in the Ava Cemetery, with the Rev. Oren Alcorn officiating.
Services are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava.
Patricia King-Nelson, 69

Patricia "Pam" Ann King-Nelson was born May 13, 1938 in Sacramento, Calif., the daughter of Roscoe King and Lois Mae (Bayles) King, and departed this life Sept. 25, 2007, at the age of 69 years 4 months and 12 days.
Pam was a resident of Ava for the past 14 years.
On Aug. 24, 1954, Pam and Jimmy Ray Nelson were united in marriage.
Mr. Nelson preceded Patricia in death.
Pam was also preceded in death by her parents and grandson, Joshua.
She is survived by a daughter, Darlene Ann Wilson and her husband Larry, Marshfield, and son, Jimmy Ray Nelson Jr. and his wife, Ginger, of Ava; eight grandchildren, Rachel, Mike, Sandra, Jewel, Rebecca, Jacob, Katie and Bobbie; five great-grandchildren, Alena, Sophia, Jordan, Morgan, Joshua; and her best friend, Shirley Miller.
Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, in Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with the Rev. Francis Humbyrd officiating.
Gary Wayne Wilson, 65

Gary Wayne Wilson, the son of Roland Wilson and Carrie (Cole) Wilson, was born Dec. 12, 1941 in Roland, Okla., and departed this life Sept. 25, 2007 in Mission, Texas, at the age of 65 years 9 months and 13 days.
Gary was a resident of Mission, Texas since 1984. He was self-employed as an airplane mechanic.
On May 24, 1973, Gary and Brenda Paul were united in marriage in Miami, Okla. Gary was blessed with a son, Brian.
Gary made a confession of faith in Christ shortly before his death.
Gary loved his family and loved his work. He was a licensed pilot and airplane inspector. Gary served his country with the U.S. Army and served in Germany.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, June; and two brothers, Billy Joe Wilson and Ronald Wilson.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda, of the home, Mission, Texas; one son, Brian Wilson and his wife, Robin, of LaVilla, Texas; four sisters, Peggy Hall, Glenda Rowland, Judy Wilson, all of Roland, Okla., and Mary Hamilton, Fort Smith, Ark.; one brother, Bob Wilson, Roland, Okla.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, in Girdner Cemetery with the Rev. Dwight Wilson officiating with full military honors by American Legion Post #112 and VFW Post #5993.
Services will be conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava.
Ethel F. Bunnell, 95

Mrs. Ethel F. Bunnell, 95, of Ava, passed away Thursday, Sept. 20, 2007, at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare Center, Ava.
Ethel was born May 5, 1912, the daughter of John Clinton and Minnie Etta Pace, at Lake City, Ark.
Mrs. Bunnell lived in Arkansas most of her life. Since becoming ill, Ethel had been staying with her daughter.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lake City, Ark.
Survivors include her daughters, Betty J. Hoskins, Ava, and Doris Bunnell, of Tampa, Fla.; five grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, King J. Bunnell; a son, Joy Clinton Bunnell; two brothers; two sisters and three great-grandsons.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 24, at the Bowman Cemetery, at Bowman, Ark.
Visitation was held at the Whelchel Chapel in Forsyth on Sunday, Sept. 23, from 2 to 4 p.m.
Austin Walter Brooke, 19

Austin Walter Brooke, son of Phillip Brooke and Laurie (Fonter) Brooke Samuelson, was born on Jan. 15, 1988 in Springfield, and passed away at the age of 19 years, 8 months and 7 days from an auto accident on Sept. 22, 2007, in Oceanside, Calif.
He was stationed at Camp Pendleton in California, serving his country with the U.S. Marine Corp as PFC.
He graduated from Sparta High School where he was the drummer in the marching and concert band.
Austin was a member of the Hopedale Baptist Church, Ozark.
On Sept. 9, 2006, Austin and Leota Yount were united in marriage in Ozark County, and to this union one son was born.
Austin loved the outdoors. He enjoyed deer and turkey hunting, fishing, soccer, cross-country and his music. He also enjoyed computer games. Austin always wanted to help the underdog. He had a soft heart for helping those in need.
Austin loved his family dearly and he will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Walter Fonter and Voyne Brooke.
He is survived by his wife, Leota Brooke, Isabella; his son, Shawn Brooke, of the home; his mother and stepfather, Laurie and John Samuelson, Sparta; his father, Phillip Brooke, Ava; two half brothers, Preston Brooke, Ava, and Michael Brooke, Marshfield; two step-siblings, Kaitlin and Spencer Samuelson, Pomona; his maternal grandmother, Lois Fonter, Ava; his paternal grandmother, Pauline Brooke, Windyville; many aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services for Austin will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with the Rev. Terry Kendrick officiating and eulogy by his close friend, Justin Buzzard.
Interment will follow in the Ava Cemetery with full military honors by the U.S. Marine Corps.
Visitation will be Saturday at 1 p.m. till service time.
The family requests memorials made to the donor's choice of charity.

William Eutah Lakey, 77

William Eutah Lakey was born Sept. 10, 1930, the son of William Elias Lakey and Alma Grace (Sharpton) Lakey, and departed this life Sept. 18, 2007, in his home at the age of 77.
Eutah was a resident of Douglas County, for most of his life.
On Dec. 17, 1950, Eutah and Violet V. Stall were united in marriage in Douglas County. Eutah and Violet were blessed with two daughters.
Eutah was owner and operator of Lakey Construction Co.
Eutah attended the Dogwood Nazarene Church. He loved working and being with his family. He also enjoyed milking cows with his wife, Violet, hunting turkey and deer and being in the outdoors.
Eutah was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Hester Narramore.
His survivors include his wife, Violet, of the home, Ava; two daughters and their spouses, Glyndora Oeltjen and Tim, Carthage, and Marilyn Aldridge and Charles, Sparta; six grandchildren, Valerie, Melanie, David, Brad, Kyle and Erin; four great-grandchildren, Austin, Will, Cheyanne, and Hannah; two brothers, Larry Clell Lakey, of Aldrich, and Gary Lakey, Mtn. Grove; one sister, Leota Blakey, Mission Viejo, Calif.; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be Friday, Sept. 21, at 10 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with the Revs. Keith Lafferty and Michael Peebles officiating.
Interment will follow in the Stillings Cemetery.
Visitation will be today (Thursday) 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
Elizabeth 'Sally' B. Tharp, 81

Elizabeth "Sally" B. Tharp departed this life in her home in Ava on Sept. 11, 2007, at the age of 81.
She was born in Gary, Ind. to Mike D. Bodlovich and Diane (DeJanovich) Bodolovich on Aug. 20, 1926.
She was a beloved mother, wife, and friend. Sally's faith was Serbian Orthodox.
In 1945, Elizabeth and John Hiram Tharp Jr. were married in Chicago, Ill. To this union, two sons were born.
Sally was a registered nurse for many years in Tulsa, Okla. She was director of nursing at Oklahoma Osteopathic Hospital and Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa. After retiring In Ava, she and her husband, Jack, traveled to many places around the globe. While living in Springfield, she earned her bachelor of nursing degree at Drury University. She loved putting her talents to work for Drury, assisting with their senior programs, and mentoring young students.
Sally was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; her parents; and several beloved relatives.
She is survived by her two sons, Christopher Tharp and his wife, Carol, and Clayton Tharp, all of Ava. Her family, friends, and neighbors will miss her loving and generous nature. She loved bunnies and small children.
Cremation service is under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava.
No public services are planned at this time.

Dorothy L. (Ward) Ruston, 76

Dorothy L. Ruston, daughter of James Walter Ward and Mattie Alice Fisher Ward, was born on Sept. 6, 1931, in Lauderdale County, Tenn., and passed away on Sept. 17, 2007 in her home in Ava, at the age of 76.
Dorothy was a homemaker and lived in Ava for the past six years, moving from Las Vegas, Nev. She grew up in Halls, Tenn.
Dorothy was a member of the Antioch Church of Christ in the Halls area.
On Feb. 3, 1957 Dorothy and John Ruston were united in marriage in Corinth, Miss., and to this union, seven children were born.
Dorothy enjoyed sitting on the porch and watching the birds. She loved being with her family.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Paul and Emmett, one sister, Roberta and one son, Jerry Ruston.
Her survivors include six chil¬dren and their spouses, Roger Ruston, Ava, Jan Ruston and Scott, Johnny Ruston, Las Vegas, Nev., Judy and Johnny Chapman, Nixa, James and Wendy Ruston, Clovis, Calif., and a grandson, whom she adopted and raised, Gary Ruston, serving in Iraq with the U.S. Army; one step-daughter, Betty Ruston, Jacksonville, Fla.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four brothers, Donald Ward, Halls, Tenn.; Bobby Ward, Ozark, Franklin Ward, Dyersburg, Tenn., and Ed Ward, near Little Rock, Ark.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Service for Dorothy will be at 10 a.m. today (Thursday) at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with Brad Smith officiating.
Visitation was Wednesday from 6 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
Graveside service will be Friday at 2 p.m., at the Antioch Cemetery, Halls, Tenn., with Phil Meeks officiating.
