Bernard Charles Bush, the son of Charles Bush and Florence Melissa (Hoard) Bush, was born March 23, 1923, in Lisle, N.Y.
He departed this life July 21, 2007, at the age of 84.
Bernard was a resident of Mansfield for the past 35 years. He was employed as a television repairman before his retirement. Bernard served his country during World War II with the U. S. Air Force. He was a member of 449th Bomb Group and 717 Bomb Squadron.
Bernard was preceded in death by his parents.
His survivors include his companion of 28 years, Louise Nicolena Morse, Mansfield; a stepson, James Gonzalez, M.D., Redding, Calif.; four step-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Harper and Madeline Harper, both of Lisle, N.Y.; two brothers, Cleon Bush, Marathon, N.Y., and Walter Bush, Baldwinsville, N.Y. and other relatives and friends.
Cremation services are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava.
John William Ayers, 55

John William Ayers, 55 of Ava, formerly of Abingdon, Ill., died at 1:15 a.m. Monday, July 23, 2007, at Cox South Hospital in Springfield.
He was born to Corine Ayers on Oct. 1, 1951, in Pasadena, Calif. John was a longtime resident of Abingdon, Ill. and Phoenix, Ariz.
He was a man of many talents and could fix about anything.
He worked for Abingdon Salvage for many years. He also worked as the head groundskeeper in Arizona for the Seattle Mariners, Chicago White Sox and Milwaukee Brewers training camps. He most recently was employed by Wal-Mart where he worked for four years in London, Ohio.
He married Schelia Bowman on Oct. 25, 1969.
They have been married for 37 years. To their marriage, five children were born: a son, Galen Ayers, of Galesburg; four daughters, Genea, of Galesburg, Ginger, of Iowa, Desiree, of Ava, and Tessa, of Peoria, Ill.
He was blessed to be the proud grandpa of 14 grandchildren, who will all miss their grandpa very much.
John was preceded in death by his mother, Corine Ayers.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. today (Thursday) at the Abingdon Cemetery, Abingdon, Ill. Eleanor Landon will officiate.
Local arrangements were conducted by the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home of Ava.
Memorials may be made to his wife.
Cora Loftis Warden, 83

Cora Warden, 83, of Richland, Wash., passed away on July 10, 2007, at the Richland Rehabilitation Center.
She was born on June 19, 1924, in Noble, Mo. to William P. and Eliza R. Loftis.
After attending Hopper's Beauty Academy in Springfield, Mo., she managed a beauty shop in Nevada, Mo.
Cora married Leland M. Warden May 21, 1941, and worked at Remington Arms in 1944, while Leland served in the Army Air-corps during WWII.
They moved to the Tri-Cities in 1946, and it remained their home for 61 years.
She was a member of Richland Heights Baptist Church.
Cora was also a member of Pasco Eagles since 1979. She loved to dance, was a skillful seamstress and an avid sports fan.
Cora is survived by her children: Jann (Larry) Hughes of Kent, Wash., and Karen (Scott) Samuelson of Kennewick, Wash.; granddaughters, Noell (Frank) Blavka and Bethany Samuelson; brother Everett and sisters Maxine and Earlene of Missouri.
She was preceded in death by husband Leland, brothers Clyde, Clinton and Homer, and sister Esther.

Caelyn Nicolette Osbourn, infant, of Kirbyville, died Wednesday, June 27, 2007, at St. John's Hospital, Springfield.
She was born June 27, 2007, in Springfield, the daughter of Jerold Carless and Chelsea Nicole (Miller) Osbourn.
Caelyn was preceded in death by her grandfather, Richard Osbourn, and great-grandparents, Richard and Irene Osbourn and Jerry and Inez Congrove.
Survivors include her parents, Jerold and Chelsea Osbourn, of the home; a sister, Shelby Osbourn, of Fayetteville, Ark.; grandparents, Betty and Jack Campbell, of Sulphur Springs, Ark., Jack and Brenda Sprinkles, of Decatur, Ark., Connie and John Macak, of Springfield, David and Sally Miller, of Ava, and Stephanie and Larry Madura, of Columbia; and great-grandparents, Patricia Miller, Joe Miller, Dirk and Dodie deHaan, all of Ava, Dick and Veda Sprinkles, of Arkansas, and Vesta Edwards, of Decatur, Ark.
Services were held Tuesday, July 3, at the Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery, Branson, with the Rev. Scott Coffelt officiating.
Arrangements were under the direction of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home, Branson.
Narvel Edwin Lakey, 65

Narvel Edwin Lakey the son of Guy Lakey and Lola (Hutchison) Lakey, was born March 26, 1942, in Coldsprings, and departed this life July 17, 2007, at the age of 65.
Narvel was a lifelong resident of the Ava area. He was employed with Rawlings Sporting Goods as a riveter for about 20 years and was a self-employed truck driver. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, and loved going to cattle sales.
Narvel had made a profession of faith.
Narvel was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Louise Porter and Marian Smith.
His survivors include five brothers and their spouses, Basil Lakey, Darrell Lakey and Patsy, Harold Lakey and Carol, Elwood Lakey and Judy, Marvin Lakey and Jean, all of Ava; one sister, Sue Porter and husband, Cap, of Ava; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Service will be 10 a.m., Friday, July 20, in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with the Revs. Reggie Kelly and Paul Welch officiating.
Interment will follow in the Ava Cemetery.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. until service time.
Memorials may be made to Gideons International or a blood donation in his name.
Brother Dominic Pitagora, 83 years
(May 31, 1928 - October 24, 2011)
Assumption Abbey, Ava, MO - Brother Dominic Pitagora was born to Anthony and Amelia Pitagora on May 31, 1928 in Detroit, Michigan. At that time, his given name was Robert.
Brother Dominic passed from this life into the waiting arms of the Lord, October 24, 2011 at the age of 83, at his home, Assumption Abbey, surrounded by his brothers’ love and prayers.
Brother Dominic was a Navy veteran, serving after World War II. In his early years, he was a lithographer, living in Redwood City, California. In 1958 he felt the calling to become a monk and entered into his religious life at New Clairvaux Abbey in California. He took Solemn Vows in 1965 and chose Dominic for his religious name. After thirty years, Brother Dominic spent a year at St. Benedict’s Monastery in Colorado, then six months in the new foundation at Taiwan. He then came to Ava in 1990.
He held many different jobs at Assumption Abbey. His most recent was as the buyer for the Abbey. Many of the townspeople remember him for his fruitcake muffins that he took great pride in bringing to town.
Brother Dominic suffered from Parkinson’s disease, and then from cancer the last several months of his life. When his brother, Richard, told him that the family sent their love he replied, "How are they sending it?" Brother Dominic kept his sense of humor, even through his illness.
His mother and father and two sisters, Norma Marie Grenier and Mary Jean Garrison, preceded Brother Dominic in death.
He is survived by his brother, Richard and wife Lynne of San Jose, California, his sister Frandora (Francis) Peden of Phoenix, Arizona and many nieces, nephews and friends. He is also survived by his brothers at Assumption Abbey. His brothers at the Abbey will miss his presence and dogged persistence against obstacles.
The funeral mass will be held at Assumption Abbey at 10:00am Thursday, October 27, 2011 with burial at the Abbey Cemetery.

Carolyn Sue (Medlock) Ousley, 45

Carolyn Sue Ousley, daughter of James A. Medlock and Rheba (Carson) Medlock, was born Sept. 6, 1962 in Springfield, and departed this life Oct. 21, 2007 at the age of 45 years l month and 15 days.
Carolyn was a resident of Rockaway Beach for the past year moving there from Ava. Carolyn was employed with Brook Care for nine years.
On Nov. 13, 2000, Carolyn and Bruce Ousley were united in marriage at the First General Baptist Church in Ava.
Carolyn loved her nieces and nephews and taking care of her clients. She enjoyed music shows, reading, and her animals.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her father, James A. Medlock and one brother, Jimmy Medlock.
She is survived by her mother and step-father, Rheba and Gene Pool, Ava; two half brothers and their spouses, Roger and Bev Johnson, and Bill and Debbie Johnson, all of Ava; her husband, Bruce Ousley, Branson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services for Carolyn will be at 10 a.m. today (Thursday, Oct. 25), in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with the Rev. Robert Roberts officiating.
Interment will follow in the Ava Cemetery.
Visitation was held from 7 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
The family requests memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Wilma Pauline Fletcher, 84

Wilma Pauline Fletcher the daughter of Estel (Tobe) Foster and Sadie (Duren) Foster, was born July 13, 1923 in Mt. Zion community, in Douglas County, and departed this life Oct. 19, 2007 at the age of 84 years, 3 months, 6 days.
Pauline was a life-long resident of the Ava area. She was a homemaker and dairy farmer.
On Dec. 18, 1941, Pauline and Warren Fletcher were united in marriage in Erie, Kan.
Pauline and Warren were blessed with three children.
Pauline attended the First General Baptist Church and later Gentry Church. She went to Casto Grade School as a girl and on to Ava High School. Pauline loved George Jones' singing, watching the St. Louis Cardinals and traveling. She always had a clean house, was a wonderful cook and loved fried chicken. She was active with the Democrat party, and faithfully, every Friday at 12 went to Rose Zella's Beauty Shop.
Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother, Clifton, a sister, Rita Foster, and a grandson, Danny Lee Fletcher.
Pauline is survived by two daughters and spouses, Beverly and Narvil Tetrick, and Glenda and Charlie Miller, all of Ava; one son, Butch Fletcher, Staunton, Ill.; six grandchildren, Tammy and Wayne Merrifield, Teresa and Kim Vaverka, Douglas and Shelia Miller, Steven and Vickie Miller, Melissa and Derek Vickery, and Melinda Fletcher; great-grandchildren, Casey Merrifield, Corey Merrifield, Stephanie and Jason Slone, Lacie and Ryan Beard, Josie Vaverka, Sadie Ann Vaverka, Amber Miller, Dylan Miller, Kolton Davis, and Kaitlin Vickery; four great-great-grandchildren, Haley Beard, Born Dec 18, 2002, which was Warren and Pauline's 61st anniversary, Jackson Lee Beard, Makayla and Taegan Slone; a sister, Norma Tetrick, Fairfax, Mo.; and a special friend, Bob Levey.
Services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22, in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with the Revs. David Dodson and B.J. Evans officiating.
Interment followed in the Ava Cemetery.
