Dan Lell, 78, of Senath, Mo., died Friday, Dec. 27, 2002, at St. Johns Mercy Medical Center in St. Louis.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31 at the McDaniel Funeral Service Chapel in Senath.
Funeral services are 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2002, at McDaniel Chapel with the Rev. Denny Brown officiating.
Burial will be in Lulu cemetery near Senath.
Joe McGrew
Joe McGrew, 76, of Senath, Mo., died Satuarday, Dec. 28, 2002, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark.
Arrangements are incomplete with McDaniel Funeral Service of Senath.
Alpha Newman
Alpha Aline Newman, 82, of Kennett, died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2002 in Kennett.
Born April 18, 1920, in Lexington, Tenn., she was a daughter of the late James and Ruby Maness Woods.
She married
Orville Newman who preceded her in death in 1982. She was also preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
Survivors include two sons, Larry Wayne Newman of Senath, Mo. and Joe Gaylon Newman of Virginia; four daughters, Janette Bogard of Marble Hill, Mo., Diane Mayberry of Kennett, Brenda Willoughby of Millington, Mich. and Beverly Mitchell of Senath; 15 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, at McDaniel Funeral Service Chapel in Senath with the Rev. Dale Rickman officiating.
Burial was in McGrew cemetery at Senath.
Pallbearers were grandsons: Robbie Newman, Larry Wayne Newman, Jr., Ronnie Mitchell, Jamie Mitchell, Tod Mayberry, Nelson Mayberry, Mickey Mayberry and Donald Bogard.
Violet Pflueger
Violet Pearl "Billie" Pflueger, 63, of Kennett, died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2002, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
Born Sunday, Dec. 24, 1939, in Catron, Mo., a daughter of the late Velmer and Marybell Taylor Folkes, she was a factory worker and a Baptist.
On Dec. 22, 1956, in Kennett, she married
Ernest R. Pflueger.
Survivors include a daughter, Pennie Pflueger of Cape Girardeau; five sisters, Ruby Hollowe, Pamela Graves and Jan Counts, all of Kennett, Jean Matheney of Senath and Faye Garcia of Arnold, Mo.; three brothers, Chester Folkes and Carl Folkes, both of Kennett, and Don Folkes of Rector, Ark.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Clyde Folkes and a sister, Jewell Robertson.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today, Sunday, Dec. 29, at Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with the Revs. Dale Rickman and Doug Clinton officiating.
Burial in Oak Ridge cemetery in Kennett.
Ben Rogers
Ben A. Rogers, 48, of Roseville, Ill., died Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2002, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria, Ill.
Born May 5, 1954, in Piggott, Ark., he was a son of Rue "Porter" Rogers of Piggott and the late Ruby McReynolds Rogers. He graduated from Crowleys Ridge College and Logan Chiropractic. He was a member of the Christian Church in Roseville and a volunteer in prison ministries.
On Feb. 5, 1983 in Columbia, Mo., he married
Marcia Crowder who survives.
Other survivors include a son Nathan Ramos and wife, Cheryn, of Macomb, Ill.; two daughters Tamara Suefferlein and husband, Dan, of Waterloo, Iowa and Maria Rogers of Joplin, Mo.; two brothers, Eddie Rogers and wife, Kathy, of Little Rock, Ark. and Brent Rogers and wife, Sandy, of Japan; and two sisters, Beth Noble of Macomb and Ruanne Rogers of Little Rock.
He was preceded in death by one brother, David Rogers.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003, at the Roseville Christian Church under direction of the Cremation Society of Mid-Ill. Co.
Burial of ashes will be in Stice cemetery in Swan Township.
Memorials may be made to the Roseville Christian Church Mission Fund.
Floyd Decker
Floyd Cleo Decker, 66, of Hayti, Mo., died Monday, Dec. 23, 2002, at William F. Bowld Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
Born Sept. 26, 1936, in Pocahontas, Ark., son of the late Grover and Josephine Davenport Decker, he was an inspector.
On May 29, 1970, in Hayti, he married
Deloris Atkins, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include six sisters, Kathy Keller and Amy Ramsey, both of Hayti, Oletta Bagwell, of Chicago, Ill. Martha Lou Watkins, of Oklahoma, Wanda Mae Stranger, of Florida and Retha Sue Toole, of New Mexico and four brothers, Chester, Harvey and Freddie Decker, all of Chicago and Arbrey Glenn Decker, of Springfield, Mo.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond, Gene and J.R. Decker.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. today, Friday, Dec. 27, at the Woodlawn cemetery in Hayti with the Rev. Paul Quinn officiating.
Bradshaw-Osburn Funeral Home of Hayti was in charge of arrangements.
Cebie Johnson
Cebie "CB" Johnson, 87, of Kennett, died Thursday, Dec. 19, 2002, at Heritage Nursing Home in Kennett.
Born March 21, 1915, son of the late John and Savannah Jones Johnson, he was employed at the Dunklin Co. Compress and was a member of the Northside Missionary Baptist Church in Kennett.
On Jan. 29, 1944, in Kennett, he married
Ruby Lee Jefferson Johnson, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by five sisters, Hannah Howard, Mary Ellen Currence, Gertrude Johnson, Mary Johnson and one in infancy and 11 brothers, Carsue, Charles, John, Ellis, Dave, Earl, George, William, Amos, Willie and one in infancy.
Survivors include 10 children, Cebie Johnson, Jr. and wife, Mayrse, of Columbia, Mo., Kay Lavern Darrell and husband, Edwin Sr., Linda Nell Lumpkin and husband, John and Jerry Lynn Johnson and wife, Cathy, all of Detroit, Mich., Elizabeth Ann Ivy, Dennis Mikel Johnson and wife, Carla and Carl Roland and wife, Bessie, all of Kennett, Doris Ellen Johnson, of San Diego, Calif., Connie Jean Lumpkin and husband, George, of Flint, Mich. and Lisa Tonnette Howery and husband, Kerry, of Kalamazoo, Mich.; a granddaughter, raised as a daughter, Karen Trisby, of San Diego; 28 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Kennett.
Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, Dec. 28, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. J. Taylor officiating.
Burial will follow at the Memorial Gardens cemetery in Kennett.

Violet Pearl Pflueger, 63, of Kennett, died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2002, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

Johnny Varner
Johnny Dwight Varner, 51, of Wichita, Kan., died Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2002, at Hollywood, Mo.
Born Oct. 6, 1951, in Forrest City, Ark., he was the son of John Varner, of Piggott, Ark. and the late Mary Ann Elizabeth Margold.
On Dec. 2, 1993, in Council Grove, Kan., he married
Christy Swisher, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include one step-son, Tobin Henson, of Durham, Kan.; one step-daughter, Niki Cabral, of Wichita; five brothers, Eugene Varner, of St. Peters, Mo., Marvin Varner and wife, Cathy and Ed Varner, all of Wichita and Pat and Joe Varner, both of Ft. Worth, Texas; five sisters, Loretta Slater and husband, Gordon, of St. Peters, Jessie Birch and husband, Darrell and Nellie Peck and husband, Rick, all of O'Fallon, Mo., Pearlene Bunch, of Decatur, Ill. and Patty Savard, of Joplin, Mo. and two grandchildren.

Iva C. Browning, 85, of Kennett, died Monday, Dec. 30, 2002, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.

Shane Carnell, 28, of Louisville, Ky., formerly of Kennett, died Saturday, Dec. 28, 2002, at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville.

Karnese Crafton
Karnese Crafton, 87, of Kennett, died Saturday, Dec. 28, 2002, at National Health Care in Kennett.
Born July 23, 1915, in Union City, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Alford and Stella Katherine Grey Downing.
On Dec. 9, 1930, in Tiptonville, Tenn., she married
Thomas E. Crafton, who preceded her in death on Feb. 10, 1982. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, three sisters and one granddaughter, Shelly Price.
Survivors include three sons, Charles Crafton and wife, Rose, of Piggott, Ark., John Crafton and wife, Peggy, of Malakoff, Texas and Frank Crafton and wife, Debbie, of Kennett; four daughters, Pat (Ruth) Neighbors, of Kennett, Ruby Joyce, of Marshfield, Mo., Stella Lucy and husband, Leroy, of Eureka, Mo. and Joan Brown and husband, Ronnie, of Satillo, Miss.; 20 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. Kevin Murray officiating.
Burial was in the Mt. Gilead cemetery at Clarkton, Mo.
Pallbearers were Steve Wall, Chris Rodgers, Derrik Lester, Jake Crafton and Phillip, Larry and Mike Joyce.
