Faye Maddox
Faye Bledsoe Maddox, 69, of Campbell, Mo., died Friday, March 7, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
Born June 29, 1933, in Bernie, Mo., daughter of the late William and Ruby Pierce Bledsoe, she was a home health care worker and of the Baptist faith.
On July 15, 1950, she married
John Junior Maddox, who preceded her in death in 1979. She was also preceded in death by one son, Glendle John Maddox and three grandsons.
Survivors include three daughters, Sevedia Siebert, of Boydsville, Ark., Pam Bader, of Glennonville, Mo. and Pat Heskett, of Campbell; one son, Roger Maddox, of Campbell; one sister, Imogene Kleffer, of Essex, Mo.; 22 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 9, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Campbell with Allen Massey officiating.
Burial was in the St. Teresa cemetery at Glennonville.
Slim Malone
Slim Malone, 91, of Kennett, died Sunday, March 9, 2003, at the Heritage Nursing Center in Kennett.
Born Sept. 11, 1911, in Starkville, Miss., son of the late Edward L. and Stella Maude Malone, he was a veteran, an automobile dealer and a member of the First Baptist Church in Kennett.
In July, 1938, he married
Capitola Cary, who preceded him in death on Aug. 31, 1997. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Clyde Malone and three sisters, Ruth Kinchen, Lois Vandiver and Mildred Echavary.
Survivors include one son, Terry Malone and wife, Melissa, of Kennett; one daughter, Patricia McGriff and husband, Larry, of Birmingham, Ala.; two grandchildren, Stephen McGriff and Sherri Hodges, of Birmingham and one great-grandchild, Blake McGriff.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. today, March 11, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. Ed Jansson officiating.
Burial was in the Oak Ridge cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers were Phil Gurley, Paul Digges, Sr., Gary Wilcoxson, Tony Gatewood, David Smith and Gerald Tackeberry.
Honorary pallbearers were the Dunklin County Sheriff's Dept. and Sunday school class members.
Sarah McCarthy
Sarah Ann McCarthy, 34, of Risco, Mo., died Sunday, March 9, 2003, at Malden, Mo.
Born July 2, 1968, in Galveston, Texas, she was the daughter of James Cordell and Elizabeth Mae Siemons Morgan, both of Malden. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Malden and a student at the Bootheel Education Center in Malden.
On May 31, 1987, in Bernie, Mo., she married
Clarence Lynn McCarthy, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include two sons, Tony and Jason McCarthy, of Risco; four sisters, Laura Biano, of Baytown, Texas, Jeanette Morgan, of Hitchcock, Texas, Glynda Woffard, of Santa Fe, Calif. and Augusta Allen, of Malden and two brothers, James Morgan, Jr., of Caruthersville, Mo. and Chester Morgan, of Malden.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. today, Tuesday, March 11, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. March 12, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Bowlby officiating.
Burial will follow at the Rosewood cemetery in Malden.
Minnie Pitts
Minnie Pitts, 92, of Campbell, Mo., died Saturday, March 8, 2003, at the General Baptist Nursing Home in Campbell.
Born March 3, 1911, in Gibson, Mo., daughter of the late James and Birdie Mae Mackey Modlin, she was a homemaker and a member of the United Methodist Church in Campbell.
On Jan. 3, 1935, in Piggott, Ark., she married
Cecil Pitts, who preceded her in death on May 6, 1993. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Jess Modlin and Tom Shaffer and one sister, Sarah Williams.
Survivors include a special nephew, Charles Pitts and wife, Kathy, of Campbell; two sisters, Maudie Smith, of Campbell and Eathel Hutchinson, of Flint, Mich. and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 10, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Karen Blank-Ewell officiating.
Burial was in the Woodlawn cemetery at Campbell.
Virgil Sanders
Virgil Sanders, 91, of Kennett, died Sunday, March 9, 2003, at the Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
Born Feb. 8, 1912, in White Oak, Mo., he was the son of the late William Charles and Clara Brown Sanders.
On Oct. 24, 1931, he married
Jeweldean Dolden, who preceded him in death on March 13, 1999. He was also prceded in death by one brother, Obal Sanders.
Survivors include five sons, Meyer Nolan and Virgil Lewis Sanders, both of Mobile, Ala., Edmond Dwight Sanders, of Austin, Texas, James Lesley Sanders, of Edmind, Okla. and Thomas Daniel Sanders, of Farmington, Mo.; five daughters, Marjorie Irene Kuhn, of Gasconade, Mo., Jerris Gail Wasson, of Bourbon, Mo., Genotra Ann Cox, of Harrisburg, Ark., Elvonda Carol LaBoube, of Kennett and Bonnie Mae Townsley, of Princeton, Ill.; 27 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today, Tueday, March 11, at the First United Pentecosatl Church in Kennett with the Revs. Meyer Sanders, Carroll McGruder and Zack Parr officiating.
Burial was in the Memorial Gardens cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers were Keith, Daniel and Lewis Sanders, Donald Kuhn, David Wasson, Jared Moyer and Greg Townsley.
Dean Thompson
Martin Dean Thompson, 64, of Holcomb, Mo., died Sunday, March 9, 2003, at his residence.
Born March 11, 1938, in Manila, Ark., son of the late Jessie James and Gladys Christine Holsclaw Thompson, he was a driver and a member and deacon of New Hope General Baptist Church. He was a sponsor of Glory Train Ministries in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
On July 12, 1975, in Fulton, Mo., he married
Phyllis D. Metzler, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include five daughters, Diane Campbell, of Holcomb, Vickie Martinez and Susan Montoya, both of Wichita, Kan. and Doris Terry and Janet Fouard, both of Hutchinson, Kan.; five brothers, Ken Thompson, of Mt. Vernon, Ill., Tony Thompson, of Hutchinson and Barney, Douglas and Timothy Thompson, all of Fulton; four sisters, Patricia Colant, of Lamont, Ill., Bernita Forman, of Lambert, Ill. and Jannita McCormick and Leah Thompson, both of Fulton; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceeded in death by one brother, James Thompson and one sister, Merita Pablos.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. today, Tuesday, March 11, at the New Hope General Baptist Church near Holcomb.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 12, at the New Hope General Baptist Church with the Rev. Bronk Simpson officiating.
Burial will follow at the Memorial Park cemetery in Hutchinson.
Bradshaw Funeral Home of Kennett was in charge of arrangements.
C.A. Vivrett
C.A. "Clem" Vivrett, 82, of Eureka, Mo., formerly of Hayti, Mo., died Thursday, March 6, 2003, at Creve Coeur, Mo.
Born Sept. 20, 1920, in Wardell, Mo., son of the late Lawrence Cecil and Sarah Frances Pullam Vivrett, he was an antique and fruniture dealer and a member of the Central Baptist Church in Eureka. He was a member of the Hayti School Board, a past board member of the Pemiscot County Special School District, a member of the Hayti Rotary Club and a 32nd Degree Mason.
On July 23, 1940, in Caruthersville, Mo., he married
Pauline Esther Hampton, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include two daughters, Frances E. Kneibert, of Farmington, Mo. and Patricia J. Corley, of Eureka; one son, Jerry D. Vivrett, of Farmington, Mo.; six grandchildren, Kelly Vivrett Amsden, Cathy Corley O'Connor, Michael and Tim Corley and Lee and Mark Kneibert and nine great-grandchildren, Jesse Amsden, Erin, Morgan, Anna, Emma and Rett Corley, Kailynn Kneibert and Heather and Thomas O'Connor.
Funeral services were held at 7 p.m. Monday, March 10, at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti with the Rev. Jerry Cowin officiating.
Burial was in the Little Prairie cemetery at Caruthersville.
Pallbearers were Lee and Mark Kneibert, Michael and Tim Corley, Tom O'Connor and Tom Burkett.
Richard Bath
Richard G. Bath, 65, of Dexter, Mo., died Saturday, March 8, 2003, in Milledgeville, Ga.
Born April 2, 1937, in Cleveland, Ohio, son of the late Herman George and Margaret Marie Ritz Bath, he was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Viernam, a consultant in the apparel industry before starting RBA Manufacturing in Malden, Mo. and a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dexter. He was a member of the Father Slay No.6515 Council of the Kinghts of Columbus, a 4th Degree member of the Paul A. Clark Assembly No.1773 Council of Knights of Columbus in Poplar Bluff, Mo. and a member of the American Legion in Dexter.
On June 7, 1958, in Cleveland, he married
Barbara Louise Fox, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include one son, Richard George Bath, Jr., of Lee's Summit, Mo.; three daughters, Mary Jaquett and husband, Hance, of Seaville, N.J., Ellie Miller and husband, Steve, of Orange Park, Fla. and Margaret Watson and husband, Marc, of Roxbury, Wis.; one brother, Raymond J. Bath and wife, Adele, of Allentown, N.J.; one sister, Mary Jane Mucklo and husband, Frank, of Lakewood, Ohio and seven grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, March 14, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. A rosary service will be conducted at 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 15, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dexter with Father John Shetley officiating.
Burial will follow at the Hagy cemetery in Dexter.

Robert Bilbrey
Robert "Bob" E. Bilbrey, 63, of Hot Springs Village, Ark., died Saturday, March 7, 2003, at his residence.
Born June 25, 1939, in Kennett, son of Thelma Stevens Bilbrey, of Mobile, Ala. and the late George Preston Bilbrey, he was retired from Houston Lighting Power, where he was a health physicist. He was a member of the Kiwanis, Genealogy, Computer Club, 9 Holers Golf Club and a member of the Woodlands Presbyterian Church in Hot Springs Village.
Survivors also include his wife, LaJean Medlin Bilbrey, of Hot Springs Village; four sons, Robert Elliott and Richard Allen Bilbrey, both of St. Louis, Mo., Derreck Westrich and wife, Tara, of McKinney, Texas and Joe Westrich and wife, Nicki, of Plano, Texas; one brother, James Mason Bilbrey, of Tampa, Fla.; one sister, Jane Bruton, of Mobile and three grandsons, Jake, Dillion and Zack Westrich, all of McKinney.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 5, at the Woodlands Presbyterian Church in Hot Springs Village with Dr. Jim Farley and the Rev. Ed Holt officiating.

Kathryn Davis, 43, of Tulsa, Okla., formerly of Hayti, Mo., died today, Thursday, March 13, 2003, at St. John's Hospital in Tulsa.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete with the Bradshaw-Osburn Funeral Home of Hayti.

Kathryn Jean Davis, 43, of Tulsa, Okla. died Thursday, March 13, 2003, at St. Johns Hospital in Tulsa.
Born Saturday, march 5, 1960, in Chicago, Ill., a daughter of Dorothy Little Field Brent, and the late Gerald Alfred Brent, she was a health aid and member of Victory Christian Center in Tulsa.
Other survivors include a son, Walter McCaig of Steele, Mo.; a daughter, Roxanne House and husband, Michael, of Steele; a brother, Jim Brent and wife, Tammy, of Hayti, Mo., a sister, Becky Orr of Sioux City, Iowa; and a grandson, Brent Michael House of Steele.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Hicks.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Sunday, March 16, at Bradshaw-Osborn Funeral Home Chapel in Wardell, Mo., with the Rev. Jimmy Hood officiating.
Burial will be in Memorial cemetery at Wardell.
