Nora Dodd
Nora Coston Dodd, 93, of Hayti, Mo., died Monday, March 17, 2003, at Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in Hayti.
Born Aug. 6, 1909, in Portqageville, Mo., daughter of the late Cardonia "Tony" and Ethel Fisher Coston, she was a farmer, landowner and homemaker. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women and the Hayti Garden Club.
On Nov. 6, 1932, in Caruthersville, Mo., she married
Raymond Levi Dodd, who preceded her in death on May 1, 1998.
Survivors include the following relatives, Wayne Myracle and wife, Libby, Nancy Jones and husband, Mark and Eugene Myracle and wife, Debra, all of Portageville, George Myracle and wife, Selena, of Sikeston, Mo. and other relatives.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti with the Rev. Sue Cubbage officiating.
Burial was in the Portageville cemetery.
Pallbearers were Richard Ashbaugh, W.T. Davidson, Brian Irions, Stephen Rhodes and Duke and Sonny Turnage.
Johnny Dowdy
Johnny Richard Dowdy, 54, of Senath, Mo., died Thursday, March 6, 2003, at the Senath Nursing Center.
Born Jan. 17, 1949, in Octa, Mo., he was the son of the late William Edgar and Chloia Easter Scroggins Dowdy.
Survivors include two brothers, Dennis C. Dowdy, of High Springs, Fla. and Terry M. Dowdy, of Felda, Fla.; six sisters, Frances B. Morgan, of Clarksville Tenn. Pat R. Sasso, of Ocala, Fla., Betty S. Parker, of Midway, W.Va., Ara Lea Morgan, Linda J. Smith and Branda S. Lane, all of Senath and one aunt, Jewell Stover, of Morrilton, Ark.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Noel Edward "Bud" Dowdy and one sister, Sonja D. Burcham.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 10, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Senath with the Revs. James Winkle and Denver Glenn officiating.
Burial was in the Senath cemetery.
Pallbearers were Don Burcham, Darrell Ed Morgan, Steve Winters, Oney Pruett, Sean Winkle and Thomas Arant.
Naoma Goldsmith
Naoma Goldsmith, 78, of Malden, Mo., died Wedneday, March 19, 2003, at her residence.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete with the Landess Funeral Home of Malden.
Lucy Hall
Lucy Hall, 72, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Friday, March 14, 2003, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Blytheville, Ark.
Born April 5, 1930, in Rome, Miss., daughter of the late Henry and Lovie Denton Johnson, she was a member of the Central Church of Christ in Caruthersville.
In 1948, she married
Roy Hall, who preceded her in death in 1996.
Survivors include seven sons, Roy, Jr., Eddie Lee, J.W., Antonio and Vincent Hall, all of Caruthersville, Barry Hall, of Irvine Calif. and Roy Hall, III, of Charleston, S.C.; six daughters, Ruby, Tanya, and Glorest Hall, all of Cape Girardeau, Mo. and Sandra, Jessica and Carolyn Hall, all of Caruthersville.; five brothers, J.W. Johnson, of Indianapolis, Ind., Clinton Johnson, of St. Louis, Mo., Eddie B. and Leon Johnson, both of Memphis, Tenn. and O.C. Johnson, of Greenville, Miss.; two sisters, Anna Lang, of Indianapolis and Ever T. Johnson Sikes, of Chicago, Ill. and 22 grandchildren.
Memorial services were held Tuesday, March 18, at the Central Church of Christ in Caruthersville with Michael McDaniel officiating.
H.S. Smith Funeral Home of Caruthersville was in charge of arrangements.

Hazel Small, 81, of Kennett, died Wednesday, March 19, 2003, at National Health Care in Kennett.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, March 21, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 21, at the Memorial Gardens cemetery in Kennett with the Rev. Gary Gelsinger officiating.
Mary Wilson
Mary Wilson, 92, of Senath, Mo., died Tuesday, March 18, 2003, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.

Funeral services for Bishop Jimmie Russell, Sr., 86, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 15, 2003, at the Faith Temple Church of God in Christ in Hayti with Evangelist Jimmie Russell, Jr. officiating.
Burial will be in the Evergreen cemetery at Hayti.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, March 14, at the John W. German Funeral Home in Hayti.
Dorothy Warren
Dorothy Warren, 68, of Bernie, Mo., formerly of Malden, Mo., died Monday, March 10, 2003, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter, Mo.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, March 17, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden.
Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, March 17, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with Rod Dill officiating.
Billy Corbett
Billy Wayne Corbett, 69, of Campbell, Mo., died Wednesday, March 19, 2003, at Three Rivers Healthcare-North in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
Born May 7, 1933, in Bald Knob, Ark., son of the late John Clinton and Maude Melton Corbett, he was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict, a plumber and electrician. He was a member of the United Pentecostal Church in Campbell.
On March 26, 1955, in Kennett, he married
Sharon Faye Umfress, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include one son, Mitchell Wayne Corbett and wife, Marilyn, of Campbell; one daughter, Melinda Sue Foster and husband, Anthony, of Campbell; two brothers, Paul Corbett, of Bald Knob and Newton Corbett, of California; six grandchildren, John, Chris and Amber Corbett, Dillon and Jacob Randall and Kayla Foster and one great-granddaughter, Cheyenne Corbett.
He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Mitchell Wayne Corbett, Jr. and Rose Marie Corbett; one brother, William Corbett and one sister, Martha Hilton.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Friday, March 21, at the Landess Funeral Home in Campbell.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 22, at the Prince cemetery in Bald Knob.
Glenda Cunningham
Glenda Ruth Cunningham, 62, of Campbell, Mo., died Wednesday, March 19, 2003, at Dexter, Mo.
Born Sept. 25, 1940, in Paragould, Ark., daughter of the late Leo and Wanda Clayton Cranford, she was a homemaker and of the General Baptist faith.
On April 18, 1958, in Kennett, she married
Billy Wayne Cunnungham, who preceded her in death on Dec. 20, 1997.
Survivors include three sons, James Cody Cunningham, of Dexter, Mo., Vernon Wayne Cunningham, of Campbell and Billy Edward Cunningham, of Circle City, Mo.; one daughter, Linda Hope Hill, of Gibson, Mo.; three sisters, Mary Eveline Myers, of Gideon, Mo., Marion "Susie" Louella Hobbs, of Senath, Mo. and Gertie Jean Cook of Columbia, Mo.; three brothers, Thomas Allen Cranford, of Columbia, Terry Leo Cranford, of Senath and Glen Sherman Cranford, of Kansas City, Mo.; 38 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 24, at the Harvest Assembly of God in Essex, Mo. with pastor Mike Brown officiating.

Naomi Goldsmith
Naomi Goldsmith, 78, of Malden, Mo., died Wednesday, March 19, 2003, at her residence.
Born Oct. 1, 1924, in Malden, daughter of the late Green and Minnie Karlish Paul, she she worked at a shirt factory, Anderson Air Activities and later retired from Brown Shoe Co. She was of the Baptist faith.
On March 11, 1942, in Malden, she married
Leslie E. Golsdmith, who preceded her in death on May 30, 2000. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Van Paul, Donald Cochran and Hubert Paul.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathie Owens, of Dexter, Mo. and Gail Bryan, of Spring, Texas; three sons, L.E. Goldsmith, of Yukon, Okla., John Goldsmith, of Malden and Tim Goldsmith, of Nixa, Mo.; three brothers, Chris and Albert Paul, both of Springfield, Mo. and Oshal Paul, of Fort Smith, Ark.; one sister, Colleen Romero, of Yucca Valley, Calif.; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Friday, March 21, at the Landess Funeral Home in Malden.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 22, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Scott Keller officiating.
Burial will follow at the Memorial Park cemetery in Malden.
Bill Mayberry
Bill Mayberry, 66, of Arbyrd, Mo., died Monday, March 17, 2003, at his residence.
Born April 8, 1936, in Arbyrd, he was the son of the late Willie and Lillie Mary Lou Burgess Mayberry.
Survivors include five sons, Justin Mayberry, of WSpringfield, Mo., Rodney and William Mayberry, both of Wardell, Mo., Donald Mayberry, of Caruthersville, Mo. and Douglas Mayberry, of Peach Orchard, Mo.; one daughter, Carolyn Mangrum, of Wardell and one sister, Eddie Emmons, of Rector, Ark.
He was preceded in death by one son, Billy Ray Mayberry; four brothers, Eulas, Carl Wayne, J.L. and Buck Mayberry and one sister, Mary Ann Raines.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 20, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Arbyrd with the Rev. Denny Brown officiating.
Burial was in the Lulu cemetery at Senath.
Carl Newman
Carl Lee Newman, 80, of Senath, Mo., died Thursday, March 20, 2003, at Northeast Arkansas Hospital in Jonesboro, Ark.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, March 22, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Senath.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 23, at the First Assembly of God Church in Senath with the Rev. Wayland Tom officiating.
Burial will follow at the Memorial Gardens cemetery in Kennett.
