Nell Grogan
Nell Grogan, 92, of Kennett, died Tuesday, March 25, 2003, at Three Rivers Regional Medical Center-North in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
Born Sept. 28, 1910, in Kennett, daughter of the late Charlie and Beatrice Horton Green, she was a member of the Slicer Street Church of Christ in Kennett, where she was actively involved in the Dorcus Ladies.
On May 3, 1928, she married
Haynes Grogan, who preceded her in death on Nov. 24, 1983. She was also preceded in death by one son, Jimmy C. Grogan; one daughter, Barbara Sue Grogan; one daughter-in-law, Jerre Nell Grogan; one brother, Charles "Slick" Green and two sisters, Gertrude Huskey and Vivian Adams.
Survivors include one son, Bill Grogan and his fiance', Pat Bowers, of Paragould, Ark.; one daughter, Linda Biggs and husband, Bill, of Kennett; one daughter-in-law, Rosalind Grogan, of Kennett; four sisters, Ruth Hines and Carroll Folkes and husband, Chester, all of Kennett, Nadine Reeves and husband, Raymond, of Stafford, Texas and Jean Reidy and husband, Ed, of St. Louis, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Chuck Grogan and wife, Nancy, of Oxford, Miss., Leigh Anne Brown and husband, Tim, of Poplar Bluff, Bill Grogan, Jr. and wife, Sharon and Jason Grogan and wife, Lori, all of Paragould, Darrin Grogan and wife, Nanci, of Jonesboro, Ark. and Lisa Clark and husband, Joey and Randy Biggs and wife, Dawn, all of Kennett; 14 great-grandchildren, Corbin and Cameron Clark and Logan, McKenzie and William Biggs, all of Kennett, Kristin Shipman, of Holcomb, Mo., Robert and Lee Grogan, of Paragould, Hannah Grogan, of Jonesboro, Lauren Martin, of Poplar Bluff, Devin Grogan, of Memphis, Tenn. and Chase, Sydney and Abby Grogan, all of Oxford and one great-great-grandchild, Tyler Trigg, of Memphis.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Thursday, March 27, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 28, at the Slicer Street Church of Christ in Kennett with Johnny Hester and James Powell officiating.
Burial will follow at the Memorial Gardens cemetery in Kennett.
Pallbearers are Chuck, Darrin and Jason Grogan, Bill Grogan, Jr., Randy Biggs, Joey Clark and Tim Brown.
Honorary pallbearers are members of the Dorcus Group, Frank Farless, Larry McDowell, Frank Stewart, Jesse James, Robert Akers, Larry Wagner, Ronnie Morgan, Tony Cannon, Paul Bass, Scott Miskelley, Jim Stewart, Floyd Coffer, Jimmie Strother, Jeff Wade, Gerald Caraway, Jerry Hall, Ray Davis and Mike Harwill.
Memorials may be made to the Slicer Street Church of Christ, Bakerville Church of Christ, VNA Hospice and the Children's Home of Paragould, Ark.
Eugene Anderson
Eugene F. Anderson, 80, of Licking, Mo., died Monday, March 24, 2003, at Cox Medical Center in Springfield, Mo.
Born Nov. 26, 1922, in Caruthersville, Mo., son of the late Thomas Hayden Anderson and Goldie Dill Anderson Lee, he was a U.S. Army veteran, employed at Brown Shoe Company and Southern Towing Company and a member of the Temple Baptist Church in Caruthersville.
In May of 1944, he married
Thelma R. Smith, who preceded him in death on Sept. 18, 1994. He later married
Aline Roe, who preceded him in death in Nov. of 1998. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Harl and Herbert Anderson.
Survivors include one daughter, Glenda Lavely, of Licking, Mo.; one son, Orville Anderson, of Caruthersville; one brother, Carl Anderson, of Caruthersville; four grandchildren, Angela Sellers and Angel Rushing, both of Caruthersville, Kenneth Head, of Success, Mo. and Tiffany Lavely, of Licking.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 27, at the Temple Baptist Church in Caruthersville with the Rev. Jim Pilcher officiating. Burial was in the Maple cemetery.
Pallbearers were Vaughn Treece, William Sellers, Kenneth Head, Gary Barham, Robert Barnes and Mickey Moody.
H.S. Smith Funeral Home of Caruthersville was in charge of arrangements.
Ruby Allen
Ruby Nell Allen, 80, of Malden, Mo., formerly of Greenville, Ky., died Thursday, March 27, 2003, at Three Rivers Healthcare-North in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
Born April 30, 1922, in Muhlenberg County, Ky., daughter of the late Johnny Monroe and Gladys Roberson Luckett, she was a homemaker and a member of the Duvall's Chapel General Baptist Church in Greenville.
On Sept. 18, 1943, in Muhlenberg County, she married
Rev. Otis Monroe Allen, who preceded her in death on Dec. 4, 2001. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Anna Mae Luckett and Margie McPherson.
Survivors include two daughters, Judy Cowsert and husband, Jim and Barbara Coons and husband, Jack, all of Malden; three sons, Darrell Allen, of Belton, Ky., Wayne Allen, of Louisville, Ky. and Rick Allen, of Malden; three brothers, Gene Luckett, of Beechmont, Ky., Jack Luckett, of Forsyth, Mo. and Pete Luckett, of Montgomery, Ala.; two sisters, Sue Long, of Pacific, Mo. and Mary Eddings, of Greenville; seven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Friday, March 28, at the Landess Funeral Home in Malden and from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, March 29, at Gary's Funeral Home in Greenville.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 29, at the Duvall's Chapel General Baptist Church in Greenville with the Revs. Scott Keller, Mark Cowsert and Ken Miller officiating.
Burial was in the Evergreen cemetery at Greenville.
Phillip Graham
Phillip Graham, 22, of Wilhelmina, Mo., died Thursday, March 27, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

Lura Mills
Lura Lee Cook Mills, 81, of Bernie, Mo., died Wednesday, March 26, 2003, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
Born May 26, 1921, in Bernie, daughter of the late Jess Lee and Annie Neeley Cook, she was a school teacher and founder of the Three Rivers Community College Library. She was also a member of the Bethany General Baptist Church in Campbell, Mo.
On Aug. 18, 1955, in Broseley, Mo., she married
Wendell Warrren Mills, who preceded her in death on July 12, 2002.
Survivors include one son, Glenn Mills, of Birmingham, Ala.; one sister, Harriet Cook, of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; two grandchildren, Barry and Amanda Mills and four great-grandchildren, Bradley, Mackenzie, Preston and Brodie Mills.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Friday, March 28, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 29, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home Chapel with Dawsey Brown officiating.
Burial will follow at the Bethany cemetery in Campbell.
Phillip Graham
Phillip "Phlip" Graham, 22, of Wilhemina, Mo., died Thursday, March 27, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
He was born Sept. 6, 1980, in Blytheville, Ark. A graduate of the Campbell, Mo. High School, he attended the Catholic Church.
Survivors include his parents, Peggy and Steve Fieser of Wilhelmina; a brother William Graham of Wilhelmina; two sisters, Crystal and Clara Fieser of Wilhelmina; an aunt, Mary Gaultney of Clarkton, Mo. and step-grandparents Bob and Pat Fieser of Wilhelmina.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clovis and Norma Hyde.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. today, Sunday, March 30, at Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Campbell with Father Glenn Eftink officiating.
Burial will be in Sacred Heart cemetery at Wilhelmina.
Pallbearers will be William Graham, Joby Heskett, Ivan Hanners, Mark Mintin, Jarred Heskett and Adam Deken.
Honorary pallbearers are Amber Mintin, Justin Heskett and P.F. Blessike.
Jason Jarred
Jason Pery Jarred, 29, of Steele, Mo., died Tuesday, March 25, 2003, at Pemiscot Memorial Health Systems in Hayti, Mo.
Born Oct. 31, 1973, in Blytheville, Ark., son of Dennis C. Jarred of Greensboro, N.C. and Cindy Pery Brown, of Steele, he attended school in Steele, was of the Baptist faith and worked at a farm laborer.
On June 27, 2001, in Caruthersville, Mo., he married
Lisa Fowler, who survives.
Other survivors include three sisters, Jessica Jarred and Joanna Jarred of Greensboro; grandfather, Jackie Pery of Steele; grandmother, Yvonne Keefer of Obion, Tenn.; great-grandfathers, James W. Pery of Steele and Jessie Whitt of Palmersville, Tenn.
He was preceded in death by grandparents Joyce Poley and Henry Jarred and by great-grandmothers, Clodeth E. Pery and Geraldine Whitt.
Funeral services were 10 a.m. Friday, March 28, at H.S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Mousie officiating.
Burial was in Mt. Zion cemetery at Steele.
Pallbearers were Patrick Pery, Joe Erwin, Dallas Jarred, Jackie Lancaster, Brad Davis and John Hensley.
Morella Lawrence
Morella Lawrence, 70, of Malden, Mo., died Friday, March 28, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Louisa Mansfield, 79, of Troy, Mo. and formerly of Campbell, Mo., died Friday, March 28, 2003, at Troy Manor Nursing Home.

Rosalyn Sanders
Rosalyn Sanders, 83, of Senath, Mo., died Friday, March 28, 2003, at NEA Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. today, Sunday, March 30, at the Assembly of God Church in Senath with the Rev. Wayland Tom officiating.
Burial will be in Memorial Gardens cemetery in Kennett.

Helen Valentine
Helen Valentine, 82, of Kennett, died Tuesday, March 25, 2003, at her residence.
Born Sept. 25, 1920, in Natchez, Miss., she was a daughter of the late Phil and Mamie Huff Felton.
On Aug. 24, 1999, she married
Andrew D. Valentine, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Vertis Felton.
Survivors include two nephews, Andrew Felton and wife, Eloise, of Sauk Village, Ill. and Henry Felton and wife, Addie, of Chicago, Ill. and one niece, Eunice, and husband, Andrew of Chicago.
Funeral services were 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John AME Church in Kennett, with the Rev. Juliet Hemphill officiating.
Burial in Memorial Gardens cemetery in Kennett.

Hugh Barham
Hugh Max Barham, 66, of Titusville, Fla., died Sunday, March 30, 2003, at Parrish Medical Center in Titusville.
Born in Kennett, he was a U.S. Air Force veteran, a real estate appraiser and a member of the St. Agnes Catholic Church. He was a member of the Perkasie Lions Club, Rotary Club and NAIFA, in Florida and Pennsylvania.
Survivors include one son, Gregory J. Barham, of Port St. John, Fla. and eight brothers and sisters, Peggy Mason, of Albuquerque, N.M., Virginia Sharp, of Belen, N.M., Polly Contino and Charles Barham, both of Port St. John, Jo Crawford, of Glendale, Calif., Bill Barham, of Dallastown, Pa., Barbara Cook, of Oceanridge, Fla. and John Barham, of Titusville.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carole Ann Barham.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
North Brevard Funeral Home of Titusville is in charge of arrangements.
