Van Patterson
Van Patterson, 65, of Parma, Mo., died Wednesday, June 11, 2003, at his residence.
Visitation will begin at noon Saturday, June 14, at the Landess Funeral Home in Malden, Mo.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 14, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow at the Memorial Park cemetery in Malden.
Maylene Phillips
Maylene Phillips, 66, of Arbyrd, Mo., died Tuesday, June 10, 2003, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
Born Jan. 7, 1937, in Hollywood, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Martha Whitlock Malone.
On March 2, 1953, in Hollywood, she married
Paul Wayne Phillips, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include one daughter, JoNell Holland and husband, Bobby, of Arbyrd; one brother, Lonnie Malone, of Arbyrd; five sisters, Pauline Wilmoth, Irene Zolman and Reva Nell Hill, all of Arbyrd and Alberta Deck and Becky June Wright, both of Paragould, Ark.; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Rosco, Melvin, J.L. and an infant brother, Leon and an infant sister, Verlene.
Funeral services were held Thursday, June 12, at the Lulu Baptist Church with the Rev. David Powell officiating.
Burial was in the Lulu cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ivan Lee Jones, Michael Lloyd and Steve Holland, Buddy and Jerry Brown and Mitch Skelton.
McDaniel Funral Homeof Arbyrd was in charge of arrangements.
David Pierce
David Don Pierce, 74, of Hornersville, Mo., died Thursday, June 12, 2003, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. today, Friday June 13, at the Bradshaw-Emerson Funeral Home in Hornersville. Masonic services will be held at 6:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 14, at the First Baptist Church in Hornersville with the Rev. Dale Rickman officiating.
Burial will follow at the Memorial Gardens cemetery in Kennett.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Hornersville.
Robert Rogers
Robert W. Rogers, 73, of Kennett, died Wednesday, June 11, 2003, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark.
Born April 8, 1930, in Kennett, son of the late Cecil and Della Maryann Gay Rogers, he was a U.S. Navy veteran.
On April 14, 1984, in Athens, Ga., he married
Carrie Wade, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include one son, Matthew David Rogers, of Athens; four daughters, Nancy, Susan, Catherine and Becky; one brother, Alonzo W. Rogers, of St. Louis, Mo. and one sister, Norma Drumm, of Collinsville, Ill.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Virgil D. Rogers and one sister, Wanda Lee Dregman.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today, Friday, June 13, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. Larry Dugger officiating.
Burial was in the Oak Ridge cemetery at Kennett.
Van Patterson
Van Minter Patterson, 65, of Parma, Mo., died Wednesday, June 11, 2003, at his residence.
Born January, 4, 1938, in Bonne Terre, Mo., son of the late Raymond and Vallie Minter Patterson, he was a U.S. Army veteran, a member of the Risco Baptist church and a farmer. Survivors include two sons, Richie Van Patterson, of Dallas, Texas, Rayvan Lee Patterson and wife, Kristi, of Doniphan, Mo., two step-sons, Scott Blanchette of Van Buren, Mo., Shawn Blanchette and wife, Christine, of Risco, Mo., two grandsons, Todd and Sawyer Patterson, of Doniphan, Mo. He was preceded in death by one sister, Valerie Patterson.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 14, 2003, at the Landess Funeral Chapel in Malden, Mo., with the Rev. Gene Lancaster officiating.
Burial was in the Memorial park cemetery in Malden.
David Pierce
David Don Pierce, 74, of Hornersville, Mo., died Thursday, June 12, 2003, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
Born July 20, 1928, in Hornersville, Mo., son of the late Martin Luther and Hila Poe Pierce, he was a farmer. He was a member and past master of Hornersville Masonic Lodge No. 215 AF and AM, past president of the Farmers and Merchants Club, the Hornersville School Board and Senath-Hornersville School Board. He served as a Sunday School teacher, Sunday School Superindent and choir director for the First Baptist Church of Hornersville and worked for the Missouri Dept. of Revenue for 15 years.
On July 12, 1947, he married
Sue A. Langley who survives of the home.
Survivors include one son Dannye Pierce, of Jonesboro, Ark., one daughter, Pam Bloodworth, of Memphis, Tenn., one brother, Len Dale Pierce of Southhaven, Miss., and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers. Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 14, at First Baptist Church in Hornersville with the Rev. Dale Rickman officiating.
Burial was in the Memorial Gardens cemetery in Kennett. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in Hornersville.

Anna Bell
Anna Greenway Bell, 87, of Kennett, died Saturday, June 14, 2003, at National Health Care in Kennett.
Born March 26, 1916, in Paragould, Ark., daughter of the William James and Renda Choate, she was a beautician.
She married
Barney L. Greenway, Sr., who preceded her in death on April 16, 1991. She was also preceded in death by one brother, William "Bill" James and four sisters, Helen Glenn, Melissa Samples, Louise Provence and Mary Potter.
Survivors include one son, Barney Greenway and wife, Christie, of Kennett; two daughters, Kathy Lawson and husband, Bernie, of Kennett and Billie Runyon and husband, Gerald, of Pollard, Ark.; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 16, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. Ben Jordan officiating.
Burial was in the Memorial Gardens cemetery at Kennett.
Jessie Chalk
Jessie Burton Chalk, 85, of Parma, Mo., died Saturday, June 14, 2003, at the Portageville Nursing Center in Portageville, Mo.
Born Sept. 5, 1917, in Paragould, Ark., son of the late Joe and Hattie White Chalk, he was a tractor mechanic.
On July 11, 1937, in Gideon, Mo., he married
Hester Wells, who preceded him in death on May 30, 2003. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Henry Chalk.
Survivors include one son, Johnny Lee Chalk and wife, Teresa, of Portageville and one grandchild, Bobby Wayne Chalk, of Portageville.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Tuesday, June 17, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Parma.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2003, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Keith Garland officiating.
Burial will follow at the Rosewood cemetery in Malden, Mo.
Pearl Crawford
Pearl Elizabeth Crawford, 94, of Malden, Mo., died Friday, June 134, 2003, at the Malden Nursing Center.
Born April 22, 1909, in Somerville, Tenn., daughter of the late Charles Lenair and Inez Mae Shinault Lansdell, she was a homemaker and a member of the Assembly of God Church in Imboden, Ark.
She married
James Edward Schrimsher, who preceded her in death on Sept. 23, 1973. She later married
Walter Crawford, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one son, Eugene Benson; two sisters, Edna Flanagin and Ola Mae Dunham; three brothers, Charles and Roy Lansdell and Hardy Shinault; one grandson, Mance McCarroll and one granddaughter, Brenda Scroggins.
Survivors include four daughters, Clara Austin and husband, Vance, of Niles, Mich., Elsie Austin and Helen Wilburn, both of Hoxie, Ark. and Pauline McNew and husband, Billy, of Malden, Mo.; three sons, Walter Benson and wife, Ada and James Schrimsher, Jr,. and wife, Kaye, all of Imboden, Ark. and Charles Benson and wife, Faye, of Cassopolis, Mich.; 30 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren and 25 great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. Monday, June 16, at the Hope cemetery in Imobden with Brother Allen Snerley officiating.
Bradshaw Funeral Home of Malden was in charge of arrangements.

James W. Davis, 86, of Kennett, died today, Tuesday, June 17, 2003, at National Health Care in Kennett.

Bernadine Deken, 81, of Qulin, Mo., died today, Tuesday, June 17, 2003, at the Mark Twain Caring Center in Poplar Bluff, Mo.

Ruby Frances Loyd, 78, of Kennett, died Sunday, June 15, 2003, at National Health Care in Kennett.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2003, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ben Jordan officiating.

Judy Palmer
Judy Kaye Palmer, 43, of Hayti, Mo., died Thursday, June 12, 2003, at Hayti.
Born Oct. 29, 1959, in Hayti, daughter of Wade Holland and the late Eunice Geraldine "Shirley" Whitfield Russom, she was a homemaker and an LPN.
On Nov. 13, 2000, in Blytheville, Ark., she married
Jeff Palmer, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include four children, Angela Holland, Nicole Jumper, Jerry Smith, Jr. and Hailea Erwin, all of Hayti; step-mother, Wanda Holland, of Hayti; step-father, Carlous Russom, of Caruthersville, Mo.; two brothers, Randy Holland and Wade Holland II, both of Hayti; six sisters, Connie Smith, of Hayti, Amy Duggins, George Ann Forrester and Janie Lawson, all of Portageville Mo. and Renee Gipson and Leanne Moore, both of Caruthersville and three grandchildren, Kohlyn Moore, James Davis and Joseph Brooks, all of Hayti.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 15, at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti with the Rev. Mike Tinnon officiating.
Burial was in the Woodlawn cemetery at Hayti.
Pallbearers were Tony Cooley, Evan and Bobby Gibson, Bobby Jumper, Chris Moore amnd Joe Haven.
