Lydia Heckman
Lydia Heckman, 87, of Campbell, Mo., died Thursday, June 19, 2003, at the Piggott Community Hospital In Piggott, Ark.
Born Aug. 20, 1915, in Windsor, Colo., daughter of the late Adam and Katherine Gideon Schraeder, she was a member of the Shepard of the Hill Lutheran Church in Fort Collins, Colo.
On April 26, 1936, in Fort Collins, she married
Alexander George Heckman, who preceded her in death on May 20, 1990. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Henry, Reuben and Harold Schraeder and one grandson, J.P. Bilbrey. Survivors include one son, Robert Heckman and wife, Rhonda, of Cheyenne, Wy.; one daughter, Geraldine King and husband, Ron, of Campbell; two brothers, Sol Schraeder, of Lewistown, Mont. and Sam Schraeder, of Greeley, Colo.; three sisters, Martha Neitzel, of Hartford, Wis., Rachael Keever, of Fort Collins and Leona Keever, of Evans, Colo.; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today, Tuesday, June 24, at the Bohlender Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Collins with the Rev. Bruce Bergquist officiating.
Burial was in the Resthaven Memory Garden cemetery in Fort Collins.
Bradshaw Funeral Home of Malden. Mo. was in charge of local arrangements.
Larry Lawerence
Larry Mike Lawerence, 54, of Lubbock, Texas, died Friday, June 20, 2003, at Coventant Hospital in Lubbock.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete with the Bradshaw Funeral Home of Kennett.
Johnnie Mooneyhan
Johnnie Mitchell Mooneyhan, 54, of Wardell, Mo., died Sunday, June 22, 2003, at the Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in Hayti.
Born June 11, 1949, in Kennett, son of Millie Juanita Weaver Mooneyhan, of Wardell and the late Johnell Mooneyhan, he was a farmer and a member of the Wardell Baptist Church.
He married
Belinda Owens, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include one son, John Mooneyhan, of Wardell; three daughters, Janet Lee, of Memphis, Tenn., Susan Arrington, of Wardell and Karen Mooneyhan, of Columbia, Mo.; one brother, Criss Clifton, of Wardell; two sisters, Bobbie Lewis, of Wardell and Jeannie Sandage, of Wappapello, Mo. and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Carlos Clifton.
Visitation will begin at 5:30 p.m. today, Tuesday, June 24, at the Bradshaw-Osburn Funeral Home in Wardell.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, at the Baptist Church in Wardell with the Rev. Griff Walker officiating.
Burial will follow at the Pemiscot Memorial Gardens cemetery in Caruthersville, Mo.
Vester Patton
Vester Hershel Patton, 85, of the Buckeye community, near Leachville, Ark., died Saturday, June 21, 2003, at his resdience.
Born in Senath, Mo., son of the late John and May Wafford Patton, he was a farmer and was retired from Brown Shoe Company in Leachville. He was a member of the Calvary Full Gospel Church in Cardwell, Mo.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Myracle Patton, of Leachville; two sons, William Patton, of Versailles, Mo. and Franklin Patton, of Leachville; two daughters, Alice Hodges, of Leachville and Linda Drury of Tupelo, Miss.; 11 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Henry Patton; five sisters; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today, Tuesday, June 24, at the Howard Funeral Home in Leachville.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, at the Calvary Full Gospel Church in Cardwell with the Rev. Leland Dement officiating.
Burial will follow at the Leachville cemetery.
Pallbearers are Danny Robbins, Danny Ford, Bud Rauls, Eric Kisner, Charlie Purcell and J.W. Carder.
Honorary pallbearers are Joe and Don Boss, Wayne Dement, Floyd Brandon, Raymond Baldridge and Kevin Lexton.
Mildred Whitlock
Mildred Whitlock, 77, of Kennett, died Saturday, June 21, 2003, at her residence.
Born Jan. 30, 1926, in Willow Springs, Mo., she was the daughter of the late George and Minnie Sharp Gordon.
On Nov. 10, 1944, she married
Elmer Whitlock, who preceded her in death on Sept. 5, 1981. She was also preceded in death by one son, James Whitlock; one daughter, Ellen Palmer; two brothers, Robert and George Gordon and three grandchildren.
Survivors include one son, Jerry Whitlock, of Kennett; three daughters, Judy Wright and Jeannie Whitlock, both of Kennett and Sherry Hopper, of Holcomb, Mo.; five brothers, Walter Gordon, of Chaffee, Mo., Milton Gordon, of Doniphan, Mo., Delmer Gordon, of Peace Valley, Mo. and Everett and Doyle Gordon, both of Folley, Mo.; one sister, Goldie Whitlock, of Mountain View, Mo.; 15 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 23, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. Tony Wood officiating.
Burial was in the Oak Ridge cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers were Chris Palmer, Jerry, Randy, Greg and Jamie Wright and Matt and Daniel Utley.
Pauline Williams
Pauline E. Williams, 86, of Campbell, Mo., died Monday, June 23, 2003, at the General Baptist Nursing Home in Campbell.
Born Oct. 7, 1916, in St. Francis, Ark., daughter of the late Fred and Sylvia Sarver Langley, she was a homemaker and of the General Baptist faith.
On Jan. 17, 1943, in Piggott, Ark., she married
Nathan R. Williams, who preceded her in death on Oct. 14, 1970. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Ravelee Langley.
Survivors include four sons, Ralph Williams and wife, Joyce and Fred Williams and wife, Sarah, all of Campbell, Rudie Williams and wife, Sandra, of Eastland, Texas and Hulen Williams and wife, Carolyn, of Bartlett, Tenn.; three brothers, Andrew Langley, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Hubert Langley, of Kingman, Kan. and Willard Langley, of Katy, Texas; 11 grandchildren, Todd, Chad and Eric Razer, Tina Lynn Nugent, Stephanie McElroy, Melissa Acosta, Hope, Johnathan, Alexandra and Amber Williams and Jo Anne Fowler and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Tuesday, June 24, at the Landess Funeral Home in Campbell.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 25, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Fred Williams officiating.
Burial will follow at the Elder cemetery in Campbell.
George Wiseman
George Wilson Wiseman, 82, of Fredericktown, Mo., died Friday, June 20, 2003, at Mineral Area Parkland Hospital in Farmington, Mo. Born March 1, 1921, in Ripley County, Tenn., son of the late Wylie and Mary Ann VanVicle Wiseman, he was a U.S. Army veteran, a farm worker and of the Pentecostal faith.
Survivors include his wife, Tilda Allison Wiseman, of Marquand, Mo.; eight sons, Jim Wiseman, of Tahoka, Texas, Clarence Wiseman, of Fort Worth, Texas, Winston Wiseman, of Dallas, Texas, Jerry, Roy and Tim Wiseman, all of Seattle, Wash., Alfred McGrath, Jr., of Marquand and John McGrath, of Pevely, Mo.; six daughters, Jane Hanks, of Marquand, Linda Husman, of McAlester, Okla. and Ruth Anderson, Sylvia Nelson, Judy Brawner and Violet Nelson, all of Seattle and three sisters, Lou McLemore, of Hayti, Mo. and Mary Miles and Irene Fair, both of Steele, Mo.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, June 23, at the Bradshaw-Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Steele with the Rev. Kenny Durham officiating.
Burial was in the Mt. Zion cemetery at Steele.
Earnest Womble
Earnest Samuel Womble, 92, of Hayti, Mo., died Thursday, June 19, 2003, at the Pemiscot County Nursing Home.
Born Aug. 24, 1910, in Cash, Ark., son of the late Will and Viola Green Womble, he was a farmer.
He married
Georgia Ellen Crockett, who preceded him in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Shirley Travis, of Memphis, Tenn.; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 22, at the Bradshaw-Osburn Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti.
Burial was in the Memorial Gardens cemetery at Caruthersville, Mo.
Gary Gurley
Gary Paul Gurley, 60, of Kennett, died Monday, June 23, 2003, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center.
Born Dec. 12, 1942, in Kennett, he was the son of Nina Mayberry Gurley, of Kennett and the late Paul M. Gurley.
On Nov. 27, 1965, he married
Johnnie Faye Battles, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include one son, George R. Gurley and wife, Jennifer, of Kennett; one brother, Phil Gurley and wife, Geraine, of Kennett and two grandchildren, Carlee and Çaleb Gurley, both of Kennett.
He was preceded in death by one son, Paul David Gurley.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, June 25, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. Charles James officiating.
Burial was in the Memorial Gardens cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers were Raymond Nelson, Roscoe Gray, Dennis Allen, Larry Rouse, Fred Pringle and Ernest Bennett, Jr.
Johnie Chalk
Johnie Mack Chalk, 87, of Malden, Mo., died Wednesday, June 25, 2003, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter, Mo.
Born Feb. 3, 1916, in Light, Ark., son of the late Arthur Marshall and Pearl M. Davis Chalk, he was parts manager for Kirksey Motors and Richarsdson Wynette. He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Malden, the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and the Cotton Hill Lodge No. 306.
On April 6, 1940, in Malden, he married
Virginia Melissa Moore, who preceded him in death on June 24, 1998. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy Sturm.
Survivors include two sons, Phil Chalk, of Newport, Ark. and Dewey Chalk, of Grove Hill, Ala.; one daughter, Peggy Chalk Salley, of Meridian, Miss.; one brother, Louis Chalk, of Frankston, Texas; three grandchildren, Carl Johnson, Carol Johnson Borgognoni and Darrell Chalk; eight grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Friday, June 27, at the Landess Funeral home in Malden.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 28, at the First Southern Baptist Church in Malden with the Rev. Ernie Nelson officiating.
Burial will follow at the Memorial Park Cemtery in Malden.
Lottie Creed
Lottie Creed, 96, of Senath, Mo., died Thursday, June 26, 2003, at National Health Care in Kennett.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 28, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Senath.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 28, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Vernon Purser officiating.
Burial will follow at the Memorial Gardens cemetery in Kennett.
