Frances Gibbons
Frances Lucille Davis Gibbons, 89, of Bells, Tenn., died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2001, at her residence.
Born Dec. 20, 1911, daughter of the late Sam and Maude Wright Davis, she was a member of the Crossroads Church of Christ.
On June 29, 1929, she married
Henry Asbury Gibbons, who preceded her in death in 1966.
Survivors include one son, Jerry Gibbons, of Muskegon, Mich; five daughters, Nell Edwards and husband, Paul and Betty Raines and husband, James, all of Bells, Sue Dunaway and husband, Larry, of Newbern, Tenn., Patsy Hanners and husband, David, of Senath, Mo. and Maudie Dokken and husband, Jim, of Brownsville; grandchildren, Terry and Linda Hardin, Teresa and Jerry Dupree, David, Cheryl and Jean Marie Palmer, Gene, Walter and April Yearwood, Joe and Laura Butler, Tracy and Jesse Brown and David and Jennifer Hanners; nine great-grandchildren and one brother, Norman Hall of Trenton, Tenn.
She was preceded in death by three sons, Joe Vernon Gibbons and two infant sons; one daughter, Frances Gibbons Nolen and several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, at the Ronk Funeral Home in Alamo, Tenn.
Her sons-in-law and grandsons served as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Crossroads Church of Christ.
Michael Patterson
Michael James Patterson, 38, of Phoenix, Ariz., formerly of Malden, Mo., died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2001, at his residence.
Born Dec. 19, 1962, in Kennett, he was the son of Cecil Patterson, of Malden and Betty Lemmons Haun, of Hautin, La.
Survivors also include two sons, Michael Maurice and David Lee Patterson, both of Hautin and two sisters, Julie Ann Cupp, of Insker, Mich. and Kathleen Jeanette Cattell, of Hautin.
Visitation will be held at 6 p.m. today, Thursday, Nov. 29, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bruce White officiating.
Burial will follow at the Rosewood cemetery in Malden.
Pearl Burk
Pearl Burk, 89, of Kennett, died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2001, at National Health Care in Kennett.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at the Memorial Gardens cemetery in Kennett with the Rev. Doyle Burk officiating.
Raymond Darnell
Raymond Conrad Darnell, 87, of Braggadocio, Mo., died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001, at the Pemiscot Nursing Home in Hayti, Mo.
Born Feb. 26, 1914, in Braggadocio, son of the late Riley and Sene Barksdale Darnell, he was in the trucking business prior to his retirement and a member of the Braggadocio Baptist Church.
On May 13, 1939, in Blytheville, Ark., he married
Zella Mae Parker, who preceded him in death on Aug. 18, 1994.
Survivors include two daughters, Delorise Ann Bryant and Patricia Darnell, both of Braggadocio; two sons, Russell Conrad Darnell, of Braggadocio and Bobby Beck, of Senath, Mo.; four grandchildren, Tamie Marie Edleman, of Fort Bragg, Calif., Michael Raymond Wallace and Jeremy Conrad Darnell, both of Braggadocio and Ryan Conrad Darnell, of Malden, Mo.; six great-grandchildren, Logan Claire and Lauren Elizabeth Darnell, both of Malden, Lauren Holly and Brittany Taylor Wallace, both of Braggadocio and Sabrina and Aron Edleman, both of Fort Bragg and one sister, Dorothy Bennett, of Hayti, Mo.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, at the H.S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Caruthersville, Mo. with the Rev. David Boyd officiating.
Burial was in the Pemiscot Memorial Gardens cemetery at Caruthersville.
Pallbearers were Pat Trevathan, Tommy Lynn Crowe, Larry Thrasher, Paul Wayne Wilcox, G.W. Clay and Billy Pearson.
Honorary pallbearers were Charles Albert Faris and H.L. Thornton.
Joy Davidson
Joy L. Davidson, 67, of Brookston, Texas, died Monday, Nov. 26, 2001, at Paris, Texas.
Born Nov. 18, 1934, in Clay County, Ark., the daughter of the late Homer and Letha Faught Eakins, she was a member of the Highway Full Gospel Church and worked for the Comfort Inn in Paris.
On Jan. 26, 1953, in Phoenix, Ariz., she married
Fred Davidson, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include four daughters, Peggy Urias and husband, Roger, of Dayton, Texas, Teresa Ridens and husband, Michael, of Paris, Wendy Hayes and husband, Jeff, of Austin, Texas and Kim Tredway and husband, Donny, of Dallas, Texas; one brother, Jackie Eakins, of Kingman, Ariz; two sisters, Bonnie Hogue, of Malin, Ore. and Jean Lindeen, of Hastings Neb.; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by one son, Rickey Davidson; one grandchild, Jodie Searle; one great-grandchild, Cheyenne Real and two brothers and two sisters.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, at the Bright-Holland Funeral Home Chapel of Texas with the Rev. Dverle Archer officiating.
Graveside services were held at 11:30 a.m. today, Friday, Nov. 30, at the Cardwell cemetery in Cardwell, Mo. with the McDaniel Funeral Home of Arbyrd, Mo. in charge of arrangements.
Elzie Moore
Elzie "Dolly" Moore, 41, of Rector, Ark., died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2001, at her residence.
Born Nov. 7, 1960, in Phoenix, Ariz., she was the daughter of the late Richard and Ada Watkins Easley.
On April 4, 1977, she married
Rick Moore, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include one son, Ricky Moore, Jr., of Fredricktown, Mo.; one daughter, Jennifer Killian and husband, Larry Sr., of Holcomb, Mo.; four grandchildren, Karissa, Chelsey, Kyle and Austin; four brothers, Benny Easley, of Nimmons, Ark., Robert Lee Easley, of Kennett, Richard Lee Easley, of Jefferson City, Mo. and Robert Wayne Easley, of Rector, Ark. and five sisters, Ora Mae Speer, of Rector, Renee Hopper and Brandy Davis, both of Kennett and Lisa Easley and Ada Theodoropoulos, both of Paragould, Ark.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Terry Wayne and Richard Lee Easley II; one sister, Linnie Sue Easley and one gandson, Larry Dewayne Killian, Jr.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. today, Friday, Nov. 30, at the Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Rob Moore officiating.
Burial was in the New Hope cemetery at Pollard, Ark.
Pallbearers were Chris Moore, Derek Scheffler, Josh Moore, Larry Killian, Robert Easley and Porter Stow.
Edmond Dutkiewicz
Edmond Dutkiewicz, 79, of Hayti, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2001, at Pemiscot Memorial Health Systems in Hayti.
Arrangements are incomplete with Bradshaw-Osburn Funeral Home of Hayti.
Lillie Glenn
Lillie Louise Simmons Glenn, 74, of Kennett, died Friday, Nov. 23, 2001.
Born Dec. 1, 1926, in Weakley County, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late William and Bonnie Ocey Simpson Powers.
Survivors include five sons, Bobby Laster of Kissimee, Fla., Bruce Simmons and Roy Simmons, both of Clarksville, Tenn., Bruce Ralph Simmons of Poplar Bluff and Grandville Levelle Simmons of Chicago, Ill.; three daughters, Cathy Reeves of Kennett, Malinda Smith of Caraway, Ark. and Laveda Mae Rogers of Fresno, Calif; one brother, William Powers of Eagle River, Wisc. and two sisters, Audrey Navarre of Horn Lake, Mich. and Gladys Reeves of Haughton, La.
Funeral services are today, Sunday, Dec. 2, in McDaniel Funeral Service Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. Gary Myers officiating.
Burial will be in the Sumach cemetery.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Houston Johnson Houston Johnson, 92, of Gideon, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Arrangements are incomplete with Bradshaw Funeral Home of Gideon.
Gladys Norman
Gladys Celia Norman, 87, of Lees Summit, Mo., died Monday, Nov. 26, 2001.
Born Nov. 5, 1914, in Denmark, Ark., daughter of the late Shelby and Gertie White Shirley, she was a cook with the Senath School District for 35 years and a member of the Church of Christ in Senath for more than 50 years.
Survivors include three sons, Billy Norman and his wife, Barbara, of Raymore, Mo.; Jerry Norman and his wife, Jean, of Pleasant Hill, Mo. and Larry Norman and his wife, Kay, of Troy, Mich.; seven grandchildren, Victor, Joe, Renee, Chris, Neil, Kyle and Kevin and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, in the McDaniel Funeral Service Chapel in Senath with Jim Mabery officiating.
Burial was in the Senath cemetery.
Pallbearers were Joe, Kevin, Victor, Neal and Chris Norman and Renee Norman Fisher.
Carnell Sowell
Mary Carnell Sowell, 84, of Kennett, died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2001, at the Heritage Nursing Center in Kennett.
Born Nov. 9, 1917, in Kennett, she was the son of the late Arthur Edward and Rosie Mae Evans Mills.
On March 28, 1936, she married
Pleas Sowell, who preceded him in death on Feb. 15, 1994.
Survivors include one son, Bob Sowell and wife, Laurie, of Kennett; two granddaughters, Emily Dawn and Amy Elizabeth Sowell, both of Jonesboro, Ark. and three sisters, Julia Maxine Yadon, of Ardmore, Okla., Joyce Nutt, of Benton, Miss. and Carol Burns, of Homa, La.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred and Bud Mills.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Les Jackson and Elder Short Walker officiating.
Burial was in the Memorial Gardens cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers were Elders Kingston, Strang, Endischee, Saunders, Siaosi and Christiansen.
Tom True
Tom True, 68, of Holcomb, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2001.
Visitation begins at 6 p.m. today, Sunday, Dec. 2, at McDaniel Funeral Service Chapel in Kennett.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3, in the McDaniel Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Morris officiating.
Burial will be in the Stanfield cemetery at Clarkton.
