Percy Privett
Percy Privett, 80, of Holland, Mo., died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2003, at Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in Hayti, Mo.
Born Sept. 3, 1922, son of the late Turner and Isabell Johns Privett, he was a U.S. Army veteran and a T.V. repairman. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include one daughter, Brenda Floyd and husband, Billy, of Caruthersville, Mo.; one step-son, Jerry Rice, Sr., of Millington, Tenn.; one sister, Gracie Story, of Rector, Ark.; seven granddaughters, Diane Frazier, of Memphis, Tenn., Kathy Robinson, of Fulton, Miss., Krissie Payne, of Cooter, Mo., Missie Bridges, of Illinois and Michelle Floyd, Maureen Johnson and Tammy Burnheimer, all of Dyersburg, Tenn. and two grandsons, Jerry Rice, Jr., of Marion, Ark. and Timothy Burnheimer, of Dyersburg.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Burnheimer and five brothers, Fred, Frank, Browder, J.C. and Levi.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today, Thursday, Aug. 14, at the Bradshaw-Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Steele, Mo. with the Rev. Sherman Griggs officiating.
Burial was in the Mt. Zion cemetery at Steele.
Adam Hays
Adam Boyce Hays, 19, of Campbell, Mo., died today, Aug. 15, 2003, at Campbell.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, at the Landess Funeral Home in Campbell.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 17, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow at the Stanfield cemetery in Clarkton, Mo.
Eldon Huckabee
Eldon Huckabee, 55, of Senath, Mo., died Thursday, Aug. 14, 2003, at the Senath Nursing Center.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete with the McDaniel Funeral Home of Senath.
Melford Kincade
Melford R. "Bub" Kincade, 83, of Bethalto, Ill., died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2003 at Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton, Ill.
Born September 10, 1919 in Malden, Mo., son of the late Jesse James and Lila Narcissus Vaughn Kincade, he was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in WWII and worked in the casting department at Laclede Steel.
On June 21, 1947 in Piggott, Ark., he married
Vivian Louise Brown Kincade, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include one son, Dennis M. Kincade and wife, Dana, of Bethalto; one granddaughter, Marci Shirley, of Bethalto; one grandson, Dustin Kincade, of Bethalto; one great-granddaughter, Michaela Shirley and three sisters, Unis Wagoner of Burton, Mich., Uldean Lambert and husband, Bill, of Campbell, Mo. and Freda Gavin and husband, Tom, of Malden.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Lonzo Kincade and Jesse Kincade, Jr.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Friday, Aug. 15, at Elias Smith Funeral Homes and Crematory in Bethalto. Visitation will continue on Saturday, Aug. 16, at Bethalto Church of God from 10 a.m to 11 a.m.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16, at the Bethalto Church of God with Rev. Jesse Wiggins officiating.
Burial with full military rites by Alton VFW Post 1308 Ritual Team will be held at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be made to Bethalto Church of God Music Department.
Daniel Masterson
Daniel Thomas Masterson, 74, of Kennett, died Monday, Aug. 4, 2003 at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo.
Born March 18, 1929, in Kennett, son of the late Daniel T. Sr., and Myrtle Looney Masterson, he was a U.S. Army veteran and a cable splicer for the Telephone Co.
Survivors include one daughter, Gail Barry Rogers, of Evansville, Tenn.; three brothers, Russell P., Robert E. and Jesse D. Masterson; one grandson, Joshua A. Taleno, of Evansville and two step-grandsons, Jonahan and David Rogers, both of Evansville.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Donald, G., John C. and Lewis Alvin Masterson and two sisters, Dorothy Barnes and Jeanetta Turner.
Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Kennett.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. Enoch McCarty officiating.
Burial will be at a later date.
Oliver Riggs Jr.
Oliver Loren Riggs, Jr., 78, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2003 at the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.
Born October 26, 1924, in Senath, Mo., he was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in WWII, a bread salesman for Harts Bread and a member of the Teamster Union.
On October 30, 1948 in Piggott, Ark., he married
Charlene Griffin, who preceded him in death in 2000.
Survivors include two sons, Greg Riggs, of Poplar Bluff and Oliver L. Riggs III, of Williamsburg, Va.; one daughter, LaNan Pitts, of Joplin, Mo.; one brother, Rodney Riggs, of Kennett and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, at the Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 16, at the Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Hoyt officiating.
Burial will follow at the Memorial Gardens cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
Josie Seaman
Josie McLain Seaman, 86, of Kennett, died today, Friday, Aug. 15, 2003, at National Health Care in Kennett.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Senath.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 17, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with Greg Pollock officiating.
Burial will follow at the Senath cemetery.
Delcie Ford
Delcie Myers Ford, 81, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2003, at Pemiscot Memorial Health Systems in Hayti, Mo.
Born July 21, 1922, in Deering, Mo., a daughter of the late Robert and Onie Keller Myers, she was a 1943 graduate of Deering High School and retired from Brown Shoe Co.
On March 21, 1953, in Piggott, Ark., she married
John Ford, Jr., who preceded her in death on Sept. 13, 1987.
Survivors include a niece, whom she raised, Lois Goodale and husband, Donald, of Caruthersville; an aunt, Mandie Smithson, of Steele, Mo.; an uncle, Chester Keller, of Steele; two great-nephews, Donald Goodale, Jr. and Larry Randle Ford, Jr., both of Caruthersville.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Friday, Aug. 15, at H.S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Caruthersville with the Rev. Kenny Lee officiating.
Burial was in the Maple cemetery at Caruthersville.
Pallbearers were Fearl Faulkner, Harold Ford, John A. Thompson, Michael E. Ford, Larry Joe Thompson and Rick N. Clark.
Adam Hays
Adam Boyce Hays, 19, of Campbell, Mo., died Friday, August 15, 2003, in Campbell.
Born on August 5, 1984 in Poplar Bluff, Mo., a son of Boyce Alan Hays and Diana Suzanne Blackmore. both of Campbell, he was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Malden, Mo. He graduated from Campbell High School in 2003, were he was a member of the Campbell FFA, an honor student; member of the Children of the American Revolution and vice president of Missouri Border Chapter of the Children of the Confederacy. He was planning to attend Southeast Missouri State University.
Other survivors include, two brothers, William Allan Blakemore Hays and Carson Ryan Hays, both of Campbell; one sister, Taylor Patricia Hays of Campbell; grandparents, Joe and Frieda Blakemore of Holcomb, Mo.; and a great-grandmother, Emogene Hall of Holcomb.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Paul and Joyce Hays.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Sunday, August 17, at the First Baptist Church in Campbell, with Rev. Randy Vaughn officiating.
Burial will be in the Stanfield cemetery in Clarkton, Mo.
Landess Funeral Home in Campbell is in charge of services.
Eldon Huckabee
Eldon Elwood Huckabee, 55, of Senath, Mo., died Thursday, Aug. 14, 2003, at the Senath Nursing Home in Senath.
Born Oct. 15, 1947, he was a son of Elwood Onspoil and Jean Huckabee.
On Dec. 12, 1974, in Cardwell, Mo., he married
Sheila Johnson, who survives.
Other survivors include his father, Elwood Huckabee of Florida; his mother, Jean Caulk of Illinois; one son, Jonathan Huckabee of Senath; one daughter, Ashlee Huckabee of Senath; one brother, Willis Caulk of Illinois; two sisters, Barbara Deweese of Tennessee and Donna Dubois of Montana; three grandchildren, Brandy Tunison, Michael Huckabee and Kelsie Owen; and a special friend, Janice Tunison of Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Debbie Caulk.
Funeral services are 10 a.m. today, Sunday, Aug. 17, in the McDaniel Funeral Service Chapel, with the Revs. Troy Alley and Sean Winkle officiating.
Burial was in the Senath cemetery.
Pallbearers were Sean Winkle, Charley Shaver, William Wofford, Willis Clark and Joe Don Thompson.
Mary Lambert
Mary Lois Lambert, 68, of Gosnell, Ark., died Thursday, Aug. 14, at Gosnell Health Care.
Born March 27, 1935, in Yarbro, a daughter of Ervin Lee and Mable Johnson Lambert, she was a Baptist and retired employee of Myers Bakery and Acco.
She is survived by a brother, John Ray Lambert of Russellville, Ark. and three sisters, Effie Sanders and Lindell Lambert both of Gosnell and Martha Ann DeCanter of Montana.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Grisham.
Visitation will be 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. today, Sunday, Aug. 17, at the Cobb Funeral Home in Blytheville, Ark.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 18, at Memorial Park cemetery with Dr. Max Briley officiating.
