Rev. Agie Lee
Rev. Agie Lee, 78, of Joiner, Ark., died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2002, at his residence.
Born Jan. 1, 1924, in Clarksville, Miss., son of the late John and Rosie Glover Lee, he was an office worker and a member of the Jubilee Baptist Church in Joiner.
Survivors include his wife, Sister Josephine Fisher Lee, of Joiner; one daughter, Cynthia Sanders, of Huntsville, Ala.; one daughter-in-law, Frances Lee, of Cairo, Ill.; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Steele, Mo.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Feb. 16, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow at the Mt. Zion cemetery in Steele.
James Powell
James Marvin "Cotton" Powell, 76, of Hayti, Mo., died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2002, at Jackson, Tenn.
Born Sept. 16, 1925, in Vina, Ala., son of the late Frank and Ida Bullen Powell, he was an auto body repairman.
Survivors include two duaghters, Linda Alsup, of Springfield, Mo. and Pat Tummins and husband, Ron, of Henderson, Tenn.; five sons, James Ray Powell and Jeffery Powell and wife, Georgia, all of Springfield and Allan Powell, Greg Powell and wife, Jolene , and Bryan Powell and wife, Brook, all of Spokane, Wash.; one step-daughter, Rhonda Lafferty, of East Prairie, Mo.; three sisters, Carlee Massey, of Marietta, Miss., Nellie Reynolds and husband, Jerone, of Osceola, Ind. and Agnes Wood and husband, Wallace, of Mountain View, Ark.; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Deanna Powell.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti with the Rev. Florence Staggs officiating.
Burial will follow at the Woodlawn cemetery at Hayti.
Family members will serve as pallbearers.
Robert Ford
Robert Ford, 91, of Gideon, Mo., died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2002, at the Gideon Care Center.
Born June 7, 1910, in Waterloo, Ala., son of the late John L. and Elizabeth Fielder Ford, he was a member of the First Baptist Church in Gideon and a riverboat captain for a barge line.
On Feb. 25, 1948, in Paducah, Ky., he married
Ona McCalister, who preceded him in death on Sept. 15, 1999. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, William and John Ford and four sisters, Lillie Henson, Mary Scott, Myrtle Mayhew and Fannie Tatscot.
Survivors include one step-daughter, Mary Lee Turner, of Gideon; six half-brothers, Hubert, Vernon, J.P. and Carl Ford and Romie D. Hall, all of Savannah, Tenn. and Henry Ford, of New Carlisle, Tenn.; three half-sisters, Nattlie Qualls and Sue Dodd, both of Savannah and Naoimi Phiffor, of New Carlisle; one grandchild; two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Gideon.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kelly Reed officiating.
Burial will follow at the Memorial Gardens cemetery in Kennett.

James Myers, 63, of Kennett, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2002, at the Heritage Nusing Center in Kennett.

Maggie Taylor
Maggie Selena Taylor, 100, of Arbyrd, Mo., died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2002, at the Senath Nursing Home.
Born June 9, 1901, in McComb, Miss., she was the daughter of the late Richard Warner and Ida Williams.
In 1919, in Skeen, Miss., she married
Vilas Fuller Taylor, who preceded her in death on Sept. 28, 1957. She was also preceded in death by four sons, Claudie and Richard Taylor and infant twins; two step-sons, Elmer and R.B. Taylor; one daughter, Lucille Anderson; one step-daughter, Evelyn Richardson; two brothers, Leonard and Robert Lewis Green; two sisters, Lois Price and Hilda Mae Johnson and one great-granddaughter, Magilie Salena Taylor.
Survivors include one step-daughter, Clara Renfrow, of Arbyrd; one sister, Edith Skinner, of Fort Worth, Texas; five grandchildren, Robert Taylor, of Huntsville, Ala., Kaye Branum, of Arbyrd, Ronnie Taylor, of Oregon, Richard Taylor, of O'Fallon, Mo. and Janice Taylor, of California; 10 step-grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 13, at the First Baptist Church in Arbyrd with the Rev. Allen Cureton officiating.
Burial was in the Lulu cemetery at Senath.
Pallbearers were Gary Renfrow, Kenny Guthrie, Gene Renfrow, Donnie Mack West, George Taylor and Neal Smith.
McDaniel Funeral Home of Senath was in charge of arrangements.
Albert White
Albert Charles White, 51, of St. Joseph, Mich., died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2002 at Lakeland Hospital.
Born Friday, April 17, 1950, in Bragg City, son of the late Willie L. and Willie B. Cooper White, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a farm laborer.
Survivors include two sons, Michael Anthony White of Kennett and Demetrius White of Benton Harbor, Mich.; two daughters, Lowestine Nelson of Malden and Annastine Nelson of Kansas City, Mo.; one brother, Mack C. White of Riverside, Calif. and Rose Hubbard Moles of Kennett and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Albert Charles White, Jr. and one granddaughter.
A memorial service is at 2 p.m. today, Sunday, Feb. 17, at Victory Temple Church in Kennett with Elder L.D. Pulliam officiating.
Mildred Baker
Mildred G. Baker, 91, of Bartlesville, Okla., died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2002, at the Jane Phillips Medical Center.
Born June 21, 1910, in Senath, Mo., daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Richard Johnson, she worked at an oil company until her retirement and was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Fidelis-Dorcas Sunday School Class and the "Extra Years of Zest" Club. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Bartlesville Chapter 142, Eastern Star "Study Club", the East Cross Methodist Church "Keen Agers Club", the West Star Bank "Celebrity Club" and the Plaza Bank "Senior Advantage Club"
On June 5, 1929, in Senath, she married
Carl M. Baker, who preceded her in death in 1978. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Gladys Mitchell and one nephew, Wayne David Mitchell.
Survivors include one nephew, Keith Mitchell and family, of Kennett and several in-laws and numerous cousins.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, at the Sneed Chapel of the First United Methodist Church in Bartlesville with the Rev. Chalres Cowell officiating.
Burial was in the Memorial Park cemetery in Bartlesville.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial in remembrance of Mrs. Baker, has been established to the Building Fund of the First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 1136, Bartlesville, Okla., 74005.
Stumpff Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Shirley Binkard
Shirley Ann Binkard, 57, of Cardwell, Mo., died Friday, Feb. 15, 2002, at her residence.
Born Jan. 13, 1945, in Pocahontas, Ark., she was the daughter of the late Cletus and Irene Cook Vermilye.
On Jan. 5, 1962, in Wauchula, Fla., she married
Russell Binkard, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include, one son, Russell John Binkard, Jr., of Hornersville, Mo.; seven daughters, Sherry Lynn Thompson and Karen Ann Summers, both of Paragould, Ark., Cynthia Gail Hembrey and Kayla Renee Binkard, both of Cardwell, Debra Diane Wrather, of Oak Grove, Ark. and Maude Ellen Ruie and Melissa Irene Wagner, both of Hornersville; one brother, Bill Lindsey, of Biggers, Ark.; 18 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Kenneth, Bob and Jerry Vermlye and Doyle Lindsey.
Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 18, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Senath with the Rev. Leland Dement officiating.
Burial was in the Cardwell cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jessie Roe, Kenneth Hill, Doug Kemmett, Michael Skaggs, Jeff Nolen and Phillip Miller.
Billy Davis
Billy Dale Davis, 49, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Friday, Feb. 15, 2002, at the Methodist Central Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
Born Dec. 15, 1952, in Hayti, Mo., son of the late Billy Jack and Louetta Sides Davis, he was a retired major in the Army National Guard and served in Operation Desert Storm, he taught art and coached football and basketball in the Hayti Public School System for over 20 years and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hayti.
On June 10, 1983, in Caruthersville, he married
Jeretta Vickers, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include one son, Keith Aaron Davis, of Caruthersville ; one niece, Natalie Anne Montgomery, of Jonesboro, Ark. and nine cousins, all of Caruthersville.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 18, at the First Baptist Church in Hayti with the Rev. Mike Melton officiating.
Burial with full military honors was held in the Maple cemetery at Caruthersville.
Pallbearers were Paul M. Shaw, Aaron McCall, Lindsey White, Brian K. Taylor, Kendall Hampton and Tommy Woods.
H.S. Smith Funeral Home of Caruthersville was in charge of arrangements.
Betty Donley
Betty Leadbetter Donley, 60, of Advance, Mo., formerly of Hornersville, Mo., died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002.
Born Aug. 29, 1941, in Marquand, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Geroge and Bulah Leadbetter.
On March 31, 1960, she married
Buford Donley, who preceded her in death on Dec. 22, 1991. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Lonnie Ray Leadbetter.
Survivors include three daughters, Judy Oliphat, of Puxico, Mo., Connie Perey, of Crump and Vicky Rogers, of Advance; three sons, Ray and Terry Donley, both of Greenbrier, Mo. and Timmy Donley, of Steradvent, Mo.; three sisters, Dorothy Palmer and Shirley Gattis, both of Senath, Mo. and Ruby Pender, of Hornersville; two brothers, Charles Earl Leadbetter, of Arbyrd, Mo. and George Earl Leadbetter, of Marysville, Ky. and 14 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. today, Tuesday, Feb. 19, at the Morgan Funeral Home in Advance with Brother Gene West officiating.
