William Holley
William "Dick" Holley, 76, , of Chesterfield, Mo., formerly of Cape Girardeau, Mo., died Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, at St. Luke's Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.
Born April 21, 1925, in Kennett, son of the late Nedham and Louise Dickey Holley, he was a veteran, serving in WWII, having spent time in the Southwest Pacific Theater of Operations, he worked in the food industry at Armour & Company and Wettereau prior to his retirement. He served on the Borad of Deacons at the First Presbyterian Church in Mexico, Mo., and Cape Girardeau, Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Board of Directors at the First National Bank in Cape Girardeau, a member of the Bonhomme Presbyterian Church in Chesterfield, a 32nd degree Mason, a Shriner, a member of the American Management Association and the Rotary Club of Mexico.
On June 26, 1949, he married
Betty Steck, who survives of the home. Survivors also include one daughter, Claire Jane Holley, of Chesterfield and one half-brother, Clinton Holley, of California.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, at the McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson, Mo.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, at the McCombs Funeral Home with the Rev. Grant Gillard officiating.
Burial will follow at the Russell Heights cemetery in Jackson.

Alma McGee
Alma Mae McGee, 85, of Holcomb, Mo., died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, at her residence.
Born June 24, 1916, in Kennett, daughter of the late William Clarence and Berthina Elizabeth McCombs Johnson, she was a homemaker and a member of the New Hope General Baptist Church in Holcomb.
On Dec. 1, 1933, in Kennett, she married
Walter Earnest McGee, who preceded her in death on March 1, 1984. She was also preceded in death by one grandchild, six brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include three daughters, Brenda Herrin and husband, Larry, of Kennett, Jannis Presson and husband, Charles, of Forrest City, Ark. and Alfrieda Cagle, of Cardwell, Mo.; two sons, Harold McGee and wife, Carol, of Crestwood, Mo. and James McGee and wife, Mary Ann, of Gerald, Mo.; one sister, Mary Ann Robertson, of Piggott, Ark.; 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. today, Tuesday, Feb. 19, at the Loyd cemetery in Holcomb with the Rev. Dale Rickman officiating.
Landess Funeral Home of Campbell was in charge of arrangements.
James Myers
James Myers, 63, of Kennett, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2002, at the Heritage Nursing Center in Kennett.
Born March 9, 1938, in Cape Girardeau, Mo., he was the son of the late Everett and Laura Winchester Myers.
On April 9, 1959, he married
Maggie Cagle, who preceded him in death on May 13, 2000. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Monroe, Paul and Gene Cook and one sister, Patsy Barton.
Survivors include four sons, James, Larry, Ricky and Douglas Myers, all of Kennett; one daughter, Lisa Myers, of Holcomb, Mo.; two brothers, Jerry Myers, of Kennett and Ronald Myers, of Perryville, Mo.; two sisters, Annie Hobbs and Rosa Lee Chism, both of Kennett; 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Chuck McCarty officiating.
Burial was in the Oak Ridge cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers were Robert Luttrell, Ricky Jo and David Trainer, Everett Barton, Frankie Finley and Jerry Brooks.
Nell Pesnell
Nell M. Pesnell, 86, of Ellisville, Mo., formerly of Holcomb, Mo., died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, at Delmar Gardens in Chesterfied Mo.
Born Nov. 20, 1915, in Arab, Ala., daughter of the late Louis and Callie Adams Cox, she was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Holcomb.
On Nov, 28, 1931, in Arab, she married
Delton "Slim" Pesnell, who preceded her in death on March 27, 1998. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mavis Patterson and Avis Clymes.
Survivors include one son, Joe Pesnell and wife, Linda, of Chesterfield; one grandson, Jonathan Pesnell, of Columbia, Mo. and one sister, Elva Jo Smith, of Florisant, Mo.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20 at the Landess Funeral Home in Campbell, Mo.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20 at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Randy Vaughn officiating.

Jody L. Stratton, 84, of Kennett, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, at National Health Care in Kennett.

Lawrence V. Thornton, 65, of Malden, Mo., died at the Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.

Elowise Vaughn
Elowise Vaughn, 82, of Campbell, Mo., died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, at the General Baptist Nursing Home in Campbell.
Born Dec. 6, 1919, in Booneville, Miss., daughter of the late George William and Minnie May McCoy Heathcock, she was a homemaker and a member of the Cane Creek Baptist Church.
On April 15, 1946, in Malden, Mo., she married
Robert Lee Vaughn, Jr., who preceded her in death on Jan. 25, 1997. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Willidean Collins and Bernice Johnson and one brother, Edsel Heathcock.
Survivors include one sister, Virginia I. Mackey, of Lyons, Ill.; one brother, Orval R. Heathcock, of Campbell and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Campbell with the Rev. James Cornman officiating.
Burial was in the Woodlawn cemetery in Campbell.
Wayne Brooks
Wayne C. Brooks, 81, of Jonesboro, Ark., formerly of Poplar Bluff, Mo. and Kennett, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002, at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.
Born Feb. 12, 1921, in Alton, he was a member of the Missouri State Highway Patrol. In 1972 he was appointed Captain of the Troop E Division in Poplar Bluff and in 1980 he was appointed Deputy Marshall for the Missouri Court of Appeals, retiring in 1997. He was of the Methodist faith and a Mason.
On Feb. 15, 1948, in Hayti, Mo., he married
Colleen E. Thompson, who preceded him in death on Jan. 8, 1996.
Survivors include one daughter, Patricia Ann Hale, of Jonesboro and one grandchild.
Visitation will be from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Wednesday, Feb. 20, at the Cotrell Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, at the Cotrell Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow at the Chapel of Memories Mausoleum in Poplar Bluff.
Helen Cuff Helen Cuff, 93, of Kennett, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Wednesday, Feb. 20, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Dale Rickman and Doug Clinton officiating.

Mickey Cullum
Michael Calvin "Mickey" Cullum, 53, of Fort Pierce, Fla., died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2002, at Fort Pierce.
Born Sept. 27, 1948, in St. Louis, Mo., son of "Cude" and Joyce Cullum, of Bernie, Mo., he was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Vietnam and was self-employed in home improvements.
Survivors also include his wife, Karen Davis Cullum, of Fort Pierce; one daughter, Michelle L. Cullum, of Fort Pierce; one brother, Chuck Cullum, of Fort Pierce; one sister, Connie Dotten, of Key Largo, Fla. and one aunt, Ocie Marie Smith, of Kennett.
Memorial services were held at 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, at the Yates Funeral Home in Fort Pierce with the Rev. Claude Wooten officiating.
Jody Stratton
Jody L. Stratton, 84, of Kennett, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, at National Health Care in Kennett.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.

Mattie Tomlinson
Mattie Mae Tomlinson, 82, of Steele, Mo., died Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
Born June 13, 1919, in Holland, Mo., daughter of the late Harvey and Lula Frances Buttery Duvall, she was a retired cook and a member of the Steele Assembly of God Church.
She married
James H. Tomlinson, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Betty Ann Tomlinson and Barbara Hedge; one son, James "Pete" Tomlinson; two brothers, Marshall and Louis Ray Duvall and two sisters, Volene Johnson and Phoebe Spears.
Survivors include three sons, Donald Tomlinson, of El Dorado, Ark., Hoyt Tomlinson, of Lutcher, La. and Bobby Tomlinson, of Kennett; two daughters, Joyce Patterson, of Deering, Mo. and Judy Smith, of Jonesboro, Ark.; one grandson, Michael Tomlinson, of the home; 21 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Wednesday, Feb. 20, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Steele.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Glyn Davis and John Badgley officiating.
Burial will follow at the Mt. Zion cemetery in Steele.

"Red" Bob Vincent, 73, of Campbell, Mo., died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002, at the St. Francis Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
