Joan Williams
Joan Williams, 68, of Malden, Mo., died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002, at the St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark.
Born Oct. 18, 1933, in Holland, Mo., daughter of the late John S. and Melba Workman Azbill, she was a member of the Malden Church of Christ and Order of Eastern Star Chapter No.141 in Malden.
On Aug. 20, 1949, in Piggott, Ark., she married
Robert Williams, who preceded her on death on Sept. 6, 1995.
Survivors include one son, Bob Williams and wife, Cathy, of Malden; two daughters, Melissa Shoemate and husband, Guy, of Malden and Michelle Mansfield and husband, Joe, of Jonesboro; seven grandchildren, Robert Stacy Williams, of Jackson, Mo., Jeffrey Scott Uthoff, of Arkansas, Michele Parker, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Jennifer Peck and Johnna Shoemate, both of Malden and Victoria and Elizabeth Mansfield, both of Jonesboro and four great-grandchildren, Rachel Williams, of Jackson, Nicholas Holt and Courtney Peck, both of Malden and Tori Parker, of Poplar Bluff.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. today, Wednesday, Feb. 20, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gene Lancaster and David McElwain officiating.
Burial will follow at the Memorial Park cemetery in Malden.
Wayne Brooks
Wayne C. Brooks, 81, of Jonesboro, Ark., formerly of Poplar Bluff, Mo. and Kennett, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002, at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.
Born Feb. 12, 1921, in Alton, he was a member of the Missouri State Highway Patrol. In 1972 he was appointed Captain of the Troop E Division in Poplar Bluff and in 1980 he was appointed Deputy Marshall for the Missouri Court of Appeals, retiring in 1997. He was of the Methodist faith and a Mason.
On Feb. 15, 1948, in Hayti, Mo., he married
Colleen E. Thompson, who preceded him in death on Jan. 8, 1996.
Survivors include one daughter, Patricia Ann Hale, of Jonesboro and one grandchild.
Visitation will be from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Wednesday, Feb. 20, at the Cotrell Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, at the Cotrell Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow at the Chapel of Memories Mausoleum in Poplar Bluff.
Helen Cuff
Helen Cuff, 93, of Kennett, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Wednesday, Feb. 20, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Dale Rickman and Doug Clinton officiating.
Burial will follow at the Oak Ridge cemetery in Kennett.
Mickey Cullum
Michael Calvin "Mickey" Cullum, 53, of Fort Pierce, Fla., died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2002, at Fort Pierce.
Born Sept. 27, 1948, in St. Louis, Mo., son of "Cude" and Joyce Cullum, of Bernie, Mo., he was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Vietnam and was self-employed in home improvements.
Survivors also include his wife, Karen Davis Cullum, of Fort Pierce; one daughter, Michelle L. Cullum, of Fort Pierce; one brother, Chuck Cullum, of Fort Pierce; one sister, Connie Dotten, of Key Largo, Fla. and one aunt, Ocie Marie Smith, of Kennett.
Memorial services were held at 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, at the Yates Funeral Home in Fort Pierce with the Rev. Claude Wooten officiating.
Jody Stratton
Jody L. Stratton, 84, of Kennett, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, at National Health Care in Kennett.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dale Rickman officiating.
Burial will follow at the Oak Ridge cemetery in Kennett.
Mattie Tomlinson
Mattie Mae Tomlinson, 82, of Steele, Mo., died Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
Born June 13, 1919, in Holland, Mo., daughter of the late Harvey and Lula Frances Buttery Duvall, she was a retired cook and a member of the Steele Assembly of God Church.
She married
James H. Tomlinson, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Betty Ann Tomlinson and Barbara Hedge; one son, James "Pete" Tomlinson; two brothers, Marshall and Louis Ray Duvall and two sisters, Volene Johnson and Phoebe Spears.
Survivors include three sons, Donald Tomlinson, of El Dorado, Ark., Hoyt Tomlinson, of Lutcher, La. and Bobby Tomlinson, of Kennett; two daughters, Joyce Patterson, of Deering, Mo. and Judy Smith, of Jonesboro, Ark.; one grandson, Michael Tomlinson, of the home; 21 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Wednesday, Feb. 20, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Steele.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Glyn Davis and John Badgley officiating.
Burial will follow at the Mt. Zion cemetery in Steele.
"Red" Vincent
"Red" Bob Vincent, 73, of Campbell, Mo., died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002, at the St. Francis Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete with the Landess Funeral Home of Campbell.

Walker Boyd Jr.
Walker Turner Boyd Jr., 79. of Ferguson, Mo., died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2002, in Ferguson.
Born Feb. 20, 1923, in Detroit, Mich., son of the late Walker R. Boyd and Leona E. Cutliph Boyd Milam, he was a retired baker with the White Castle system and attended the Church of God. He was also a member of Promise Keepers and Pemiscot County American Legion Post 88.
He married
Lillian W. Blankinship who survives.
Other survivors include seven children: Monika Lovera, Nancy and her husband, Rev. Jon Ewers, Susan Lowry and her husband, Herman, Katherine Hudson and her husband, Wallace, Rebecca Harwick and her husband, Donald, Linda Shell and Margaret Peterson and her husband, Jeff; 20 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Renate Proulx; a sister, Margaret E. Halter and a brother, Charles H. Boyd.
Visitation is today, Sunday, Feb. 24, from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons, in St. Louis.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, Feb 25, at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons with the Rev. Ben Jordan officiating.
Burial will be in Concordia cemetery.
The family suggests memorials be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital, Memphis, Tenn.
James Greer
James Lee Greer, 56, of Parma, Mo., died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2002, at Southern Missouri Healthcare in Dexter, Mo.
Born Nov. 12, 1945, in Sunflower County, Miss., he was the son of Lillie Mae McCan Greer Wright, of Parma and the late Willie Morris Greer.
Survivors also include one daughter, Cynthia Denise Thatch, of Champaign, Ill.; five brothers, Sidney Gaines and wife, Dorothy and Edward Wright and wife, Patricia, all of Burlington, Ia., Davie Wright Sr. and wife, Alleane, of Port Huron, Mich., Willie Wright, of Parma and Tommie Wright and wife, Miriam, of Oceanside, Calif.; three sisters, Lillie B. Gaines and Jewel Wright, both of Parma and Mable and Eugene Jackson, of Burlington; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with Jack Wrinkle officiating.
Burial will follow at the Macedonia cemetery in Malden.
Charles Hughes
Charles William Hughes, 80, of Cardwell, Mo., died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002, at his residence.
Born Sept. 27, 1921, in Ripley, Tenn., he was the son of the late Rev. William Eural and Sue Griggs Hughes.
On Oct. 18, 1943, in Paragould, Ark., he married
Mary Denton, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include one son, William Eugene Hughes, of Hot Springs, Ark.; three daughters, Mary Patricia Stock, of Olive Branch, Miss., Ina Hughes, of Cardwell and Deborah Jenkins, of Paragould; one sister, Laverne Thorn, of Southaven, Miss.; eight grandchildren and three great-gandchildren.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, and two sisters, Elizabeth Koonce and Francis Holland.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, at the Trinity Community Church in Cardwell with the Revs. Tim Porter and Kevin Knox officiating.
Burial was in the Cardwell cemetery.
Pallbearers were Gordon and Travis Jenkins, Robert Terry, Phillip Miller, Jerry Bishop and John Stock.
Honorary pallbearers were J.R. Marrett and Chris Traywick.
McDaniel Funeral Home of Senath, Mo., was in charge of arrangements.
