Floralee Kennedy

Floralee Kennedy, 93, of Spokane, Wash., died Sunday, March 3, 2002, at her residence .

She was born Sept, 20, 1908, in Tennessee

She was preceded in death by her husband, Burnice (Tom) Kennedy and a daughter Lana Kennedy-Moore.

Survivors include one daughter, Creda Hopkins, of Spokane; one son, Bill Kennedy, of Spokane; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, March 11, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, at the McDaniel Funeral Home.

Burial will follow at the Oak Ridge cemetery in Kennett.

Mary Mabrey

Mary Rose Mabrey, 76, of Paragould, Ark., died Tuesday, March 5, 2002, at the Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould.

Born Feb. 16, 1926, in Cardwell, Mo., daughter of the late Samuel Robert and Virgie Lee Maples Jones, she was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ at Cardwell.

Survivors include one son, Charles Robert Mabrey and wife, Judy, of McKinney, Texas; one daughter, Rose L. Kilroy and husband, Michael, of Clancy, Mont.; one brother, Robert Jones, of Arbyrd, Mo.; two sisters, Rachel Rose, of Cardwell and Dorothy Bailey, of Paragould and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Mabrey; one sister, Grace Crim and one daughter, Linda Carol Mabrey.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 7, at the Mitchell Funeral Home in Paragould.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 7, at the Greene County Memorial Gardens cemetery in Paragould with David Flanrey officiating.

Brian Rickman

Brian W. Rickman, 25, died Monday, March 4, 2002, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo.

Born Nov. 11, 1976, in Dexter, Mo., son Peggy Darlene Williams Weems and Charles Edward Rickman, he was a member of the Church of God Faith and was a former welder at Wheelers Trailor Company of Morley, Mo.

Survivors include his mother and step father, Peggy and Jerry Weems, of Benton, Mo.; his father, Charles Edward Rickman, of Forrest City, Ark.; two brothers, Carl Edward Rickman and Joesph Keith Rickman, both of Sikeston, Mo.; one step-brother, William "Sonny" Hammer, of Fulton, Mo.; one step-sister, Betty Amanda Rhodes, of Sikeston; maternal grandmother, Wretha Minton, of Bernie; Paternal grandparents, Woody and Emma Rickman of Lilbourn, Mo.; great-grandmother, Dorothy Jenson, of Santa Ana, Calif.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Steven Lynn Rickman. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Wednesday, March 6, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 7, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Darrell Pollock officiating.

Burial will follow at the Bernie cemetery.

James Rowland

James Rowland, 84, of Kennett, died Sunday, March 3, 2002, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.

Born July 2, 1917, in Sycamore, Va., son of the late Douglas M. and Mary I. Davis Rowland, he was U.S. Army veteran serving in WWII and was a member of Abiding Peace Temple Church.

On Feb. 7, 1945, in Blytheville, Ark., he married Bernice Hampton, who survives of the home.

Survivors also include two daughters, Carolyn Birmingham and husband, Ron, of Hayti, Mo., Myra Baker and husband, Randy, of Kennett; one brother, Troy Rowland, of Ringold, Va.; two sisters, Addie Wiley, of Providence, NC. and Ruby Riddle, of Danville, Va.; two brother-in-laws, Larry Hampton, of Hayti and William Hampton, of French Village, Mo.; two sister-in-laws, Lorene Rowland, of Westville, NC., and Clara Rowland, of Ruffin, of NC.; four grandchildren, Nathan and Mileah Baker, Keith Birmingham and Sherry Palmer and one great-granddaughter, Madison Palmer.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, March 6, at the Abiding Peace Temple Church in Kennett with the Revs. John Keel and Don Slatton officiating.

Burial was in the Oak Ridge cemetery in Kennett.

Pallbearers were Nathan Baker, Keith Birmington, David Rowland, Larry Palmer and Hubert and Eric Snipes.

Dorothy Akridge

Dorothy J. Akridge, 81, of Campbell, Mo., died Wednesday, March 6, 2002, at the Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott, Ark.

Born Dec. 28, 1920, in Omaha, Neb., daughter of the late William B. and Edna Molly Herstrom Prentice Hopwood, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Campbell.

On June 1, 1940, in Clarkton, Mo., she married Lonzo Howard Akridge, who preceded her in death on May 9, 2000. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Trenton Terrell Akridge and William Ray Akridge; one grandson, Ryan Akridge; one sister, Pauline Holloway, and one brother, Glen Hopwood.

Survivors include five sons, James Howard Akridge, of Dexter, Mo., Donald Gene, Lonzo Jr., Robert Earl Akridge, all of Campbell, and Jerry Akridge, of Gideon, Mo.; five daughters, Phyllis Sims, of Malden, Mo., Della Vannasdall, of Gideon, Joyce Ellsworth, of Malden, Judy Collins, of Poplar Bluff, and Anna Walbert, of Campbell; 28 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and one sister, Joyce Parks, of Bristol, Va.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Thursday, March 7, at the Landess Funeral Home in Campbell.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 8, at the Landess Funeral Home in Campbell with Rev. Dale Rickman.

Burial will follow in the Stanfield cemetery at Clarkton.

Dollie Bowman

Dollie Bowman, 89, of Senath, Mo., died Monday, March 4, 2002, at the Senath Nursing Home in Senath.

Born Feb. 5, 1913, in Russellvile, Ark., she was the daughter of the late Joe and Ola Mae Tate Hogue.

Survivors include two sons, James and Harold Bowman; four daughters, Carol Bowman, of Senath, Carmen Smith, of Troy, Mo., Ola Juelfs, of Troy, and Joyce Lawson, of Baton Rouge, La.; one sister-in-law, Syble Houge, of Batesville, Ark.; two grandchildren, Lisa Andreson and LaDonna Ward and four great-grandchildren, Matthew and Jacob Anderson, Kaley and Kasi Ward.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Bowman; one son, Dale Bowman; two infant children; three brother, Ed, Leslie, and Doyle Hogue, and one granddaughter, Tammy Lawson.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. today, Thursday, March 7, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Senath with Rev. Don Roseberry officiating.

Burial was in the Senath cemetery.

Pallbearers were Tim Dinkins, Ricky Batchlor, Junior Jaco, Daniel, Matthew and Jacob Anderson.

Lloyd Greer

Lloyd "Cobb" Greer, 82, of Pine Bluff, Ark., died Tuesday, March 5, 2002, at the Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff.

Born Sept. 17, 1919, in Senath, Mo., son of the late Robert and Ada Gorman Greer, he was a U.S. Army veteran serving in WWII. He was a truck driver for Osborn Farms, also a retired Coca-Cola Bottling driver and a member of Green Meadows Baptist Church.

On Dec. 12, 1957, he married Judy Romhill Greer, of Pine Bluff, who survives of the home.

Survivors also include two daughter, Judy Darlene Davenport and husband, Todd, of Pine Bluff, and Tammy Louise Browning and husband, Tom, of Camden; two sons, Steve Greer and Allan Greer of St. Louis, Mo.; one sister, Louise Sturgeon of Kennett; 6 grandchildren, April Blevis, Aaron Womble, Laura Gibson, Christopher Law, Delayna Greer and Adam Gibson and two great-grandchildren, Nikki Kitson and Sonny Kitson.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. today Thursday, March 7, at the Graceland cemetery with Burt Thomas officiating.

Arrangements are being handled by Hale-South Funeral Home.

Sara Hilburn

Sara Faye Hilburn, 17, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Monday, March 4, 2002, at the Regional Medical Center in Memphis, Tenn.

Born Oct. 1, 1984, in Blytheville, Ark., daughter of David Keith Hilburn and Cathy Lynn Constant, she was a member of the Cottonwood Point Baptist Church.

Survivors include her mother, Cathy Hilburn, of Carutherville; her father David Hilburn; one sister, Alissa Beth Hilburn, of Cape Girardeau, Mo. and one half sister, Keli Ann Hilburn, of Caruthersville.

Funeral survices were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, at the H.S. Smith Funeral Home in Caruthersville with Rev. Jimmy Johnson officiating.

Burial was held in the Maple cemetery in Caruthersville.

Pallbearers were David R. Grice, Jeremy Yates, Mike Onley, Tyler Sullivan, Brent Davis and Ricky Idlett.

Honorary pallbearers were Jennifer Onley and Angie Hancook. James Leathers

James Leathers, 80, of Malden, Mo., died Wednesday, March 6, 2002, at the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Mo.

Visitation will be at 6 p.m. Friday, March 8, at the Landess Funeral Home in Malden.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 9, at the Landess Funeral Home in Malden.

Burial will follow in the Memorial Park cemetery in Malden.

John Mayes

John Mayes, 76, of Kennett, died Tuesday, March 5, 2002, at Twin Rivers Medical Center in Kennett.

Born Jan. 21, 1946, in Elmira, NY, son of the late John Calvin and Emma Munns Mays, he was a U.S. veteran serving in WWII and a radio announcer and tax assessor.

On March 23, 1946, in St. Louis, Mo., he married Evelyn Perry, who preceded him in death on May 6, 1988. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Donald Mays.

Survivors include two sons, Steve Mays, of Jefferson City, Mo., and Blane Mays, of Indonesia; three grandchildren, Ryan, Spencer, and Allison Mays and one sister Reva Lawrence, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.

Visitation will be at 12:30 p.m. today, Thursday, March 7, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, March 7, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett with Rev. Dale Rickman officiating.

Burial will follow in the Oak Ridge cemetery in Kennett.

Lori Abdo

Lori Lynn Abdo, 36, of Murfreesboro, Tenn, formerly of Kennett, died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2002, at the Middle Tennessee Medical Center. Born March 1965, in Kennett, daughter of Larry and Sharon Tinnin Wilkison, she was a member of the United Murfreesboro Pentecostal Church and was on the Murfreesboro Fire Dept. for 14 years.

Survivors include her husband, Theodore Abdo, of Murfreesboro; one son, Austin Abdo, of Murfreesboro; two brothers, Bret and Eric Wilkison, of Murfreesboro, two sisters, Karon Hawks, of Antioch, Tenn. and Tawnya Sisk, of Murfreesboro; grandmother, Wylmo Bradshaw, of Hornersville, Mo. and grandparents, Tom and Carol Karam, of Murfreesboro.

Funeral services were held at 12 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, at the Jennings & Ayers Funeral Home in Murfreesboro with the Rev. Bobbie Joyce Lively officiating.

Burial was in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens at Murfreesboro.

Pallbearers were Bob Decker, Lee Douglas and The Murfreesboro Fire Dept.

Honorary pallbearers were Ron Abdo, Kyle Cobb, Bret Wilkison, Damon Hawks, Eric Wilkison and Jason Sisk.
