Billie Floyd
Billie Rose Floyd, 60, of Senath, Mo., died Friday, Aug. 30, 2002, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
Born Nov. 26, 1941, in St. Louis, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Willie E. and Rose Roth Pool.
She married
A.J. Shaver, who preceded her in death in Dec. 1987 and she later married
D.L. Floyd, who preceded her in death in Aug. 1999. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Johnny Pool and one sister, Mary Sebree.
Survivors include one son, Charles Shaver and wife, Darla, of Senath; two brothers, Charles Pool, of Paragould, Ark. and Raymond Pool, of Belvedear, S.C. and two grandchildren, Hailee and Garrett Shaver.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 2, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Senath with the Rev. Doug Clinton officiating.
Burial was in the Senath cemetery.
Pallbearers were Chuck Henson, Raymond and Billy Pool, Mike Bennett, Carl Coleman and Sean Winkle.
Mary Hughes
Mary G. Hughes, 91, of Kennett, died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2002, at her residence.
Born Oct. 5, 1910, in Doniphan, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Thurman and Maggie Casteel Sutton.
She married
Alva Lee Hughes, Sr., who preceded her in death on March 16, 1976.
Survivors include six sons, Frank Hughes, of Childersburg, Ala., Bob Hughes, of Lake City, Ark., Alva Lee Hughes, Jr., of Holcomb, Mo., Homer Hughes, of Marble Hill, Mo. and Jack and Dennis Hughes, both of Kennett; one daughter, Betty Fort, of Kennett; two brothers, Cecil Sutton, of DeSoto, Mo. and Clyde Sutton, of Washington, D.C.; two sisters, Pearlene Lee of DeSoto and Opal Fairbanks, of Harrisville, Mo.; 23 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Tuesday, Sept. 3, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, at the Oak Grove cemetery in Doniphan.
Irene Johnson
Irene Johnson, 95, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Wednesday, Aug, 21, 2002, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
Born Aug. 3, 1907, in Belzoni, Miss., she was the daughter of the late Shep and Hattie Logan Jackson, Sr.
On Jan, 4, 1925, she married
Willie Johnson, Sr., who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by three sons, Willie Johnson, Jr., Hosie Lee Johnson and Orbrey Kosie Johnson, III; three brothers, Willie, Gentle and George Jackson and a sister-in-law, Estia Mae Jackson.
Survivors include two daughters, Rose Alice Thomas and husband, Ira, of Chicago, Ill. and Margaret Henderson, of Houston, Texas; one son, Willie Birt Franklin, of Alton, Ill.; one brother, Shep Jackson, Jr., of Caruthersville; two nephews; 18 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren and three daughters-in-law, Mary C. Johnson, of Caruthersville, Laverne Johnson, of Bellwood, Ill. and Elaine Johnson, of Mt. Vernon, Ill.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 31, at the Pentecostal Power New Life Deliverance Temple in Caruthersville with Bishop James Whitfield officiating.
Burial was in the Morgan Ridge cemetery at Caruthersville.
Pallbearers were Willie K., Michael A., Hosie L. and Marlon Johnson, Shep Jackson III and Jessie Wilbourn.
H.S. Smith Funeral Home of Caruthersville was in charge of arrangements.
Larry Jones
Larry Lee Jones, 61, of Cardwell, Mo., died Thursday, Aug. 29, 2002, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark.
Born Aug. 18, 1941, in Arbyrd, Mo., son of the late Ernest and Mary Cobern Jones, he was a U.S. Army veteran.
On Dec. 29, 1965, in Memphis, Tenn., he married
Mary Delores Reyes, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include three sons, Kenneth Jones, of Long Beach, Calif., Kevin Jones and wife, Tracy, of Jonesboro and Larry Jones II and wife Dana, of Cardwell; one daughter, Kimberly Malone and husband, Bill, of Cardwell; seven brothers, Jackie and Jimmy Jones, both of Midwest City, Okla., Bill Hunter, of Benton Harbor, Mich., Earnest Jones, of Huntington Beach, Calif., Charles Jones, of McKinney, Texas, Chris Jones, of Tustin, Calif. and Randy Jones, of Del City, Okla.; two sisters, Eva Wiechert, of Benton Harbor and Cathy Hays, of Midwest City and 10 grandchildren, Daniella, Tyler, Cody, Haylee, Lexy, Heather, Ryan, Prissy, Joshua and Holly.
He was also preceded in death by an infant sister, Karen Jones.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 1, at the Calvary Full Gospel Church in Cardwell with the Rev. Leland Dement officiating.
Burial was in the Cardwell cemetery.
Pallbearers were Carl and Wade Drury, David and Danny Bishop, Larry Clark and Terry Melburn.
McDaniel Funeral Home of Senath was in charge of arrangements.
Shirley Mitchell
Shirley Jean Davis Mitchell, 56, of Kennett, died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2002, at Dyersburg Methodist Health Care in Dyersburg, Tenn.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles James officiating.
Burial will follow at the Pine Log cemetery in Brookland, Ark.
Carl Dye
Carl E. Dye, 64, of White Oak, Mo., died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2002. at his residence.
Born May 26, 1938, in Kennett, son of the late Edgar and Ethel White Dye, he was a U.S. Navy veteran.
Survivors include one son, Ricky Dye, of White Oak; one daughter, Marsha Johnson and husband, David, of Holcomb, Mo.; one brother, Ralph Dye, of Garland, Texas; one sister, Vicki Crawford, of Kennett; three grandchildren, Kristi Dawn and Jessica Lynn Dye and Stephen Johnson and two great-grandchildren, Dylan Johnson and Madison Dye.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Billy Gene, Charles Lee, Bobby D. and Carroll R. C.D. Dye and one sister, Verla Edwards.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. today, Wednesday, Sept. 4, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. Dale Rickman officiating.
Burial was in the Stanfield cemetery at Clarkton, Mo.
Pallbearers were Terry and Dave Dye, Steve Bradshaw and Don Crawford.
Rosemary Eggleston
Rosemary Eggleston, 57, of St. Louis, Mo., formerly of Hayti, Mo., died Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2002, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
Born June 30, 1945, in Coffeeville, Miss., daughter of the late Plessie and Essie Eggleston, she was a member of the Mount Olive M.B. Church in Hayti.
Survivors include four children, Yual Y., Kimberly R., Christopher A. and Almedia T. Eggleston, all of St. Louis; four sisters, Hattie White and Valerie Fry, both of St. Louis, Mary Louise Moore, of East St. Louis, Ill. and Shirlene Harrison, of Phoenix, Ariz.; five brothers, Robert and Fred Eggleston, of St. Louis, Plessie Eggleston, Jr., of Sikeston, Mo., Charles Egglestom, of East St. Louis and Demoungle (Dobie) Eggleston, of Hayti; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; beloved companion, Frank Harvey and dear friend, Preston Smith (Smitty).
She was preceded in death by one sister, Levelle Eggleston.
Funeral services were held at 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30, in St. Louis and Saturday, Aug. 31, at 2 p.m. in Hayti.
Burial was in the Evergreen cemetery at Hayti.
Pallbearers were her brothers.

Irene Howard
Irene Howard, 100, of Holcomb, Mo., died Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2002, at the General Baptist Nursing Home in Campbell.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete with the Landess Funeral Home of Campbell.

Arthur Ingram
Arthur Ray Ingram, 79, of Hayti, Mo., died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2002, in Hayti.
Born Oct. 20, 1922, in Grapeland, Texas, son of the late Walter C. and Sallie Bell Neal Ingram, he was U.S. Air Force veteran, an aircraft mechanic and of the Methodist faith.
On June 21, 1963, in Genoa, Texas, he married
Ruth Fern Blackburn, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include two sons, Douglas Arthur and Jeffery Kenneth Ingram, both of San Diego, Calif.; one daughter, Laura Jeanean Sirkel, of Houston, Texas; one brother, Leroy Ingram, of Grapeland, Texas; one sistere, Louise Marshall, of South Houston, Texas; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Ingram; one sister, Madie Clark and one step-daughter, Linda Kaye Chamlee.
Funeral services were held today, Wednesday, Sept. 4, at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti with the Rev. Sue Cubbage officiating.
Burial was in the Woodlawn cemetery.
Vida Kennedy
Vida Kennedy, 93, of Cardwell, Mo., died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2002, at the Arkansas Methodist Hospital in Paragould, Ark.
Born Dec. 26, 1908, in Strawberry, Ark., daughter of the late William and Francis Chollans Daily, she was a member of the Cardwell Baptist Church. On May 5, 1949, in Pascagoula, Miss., she married
Carl F. Kennedy, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include one son, Willie Hayes and wife, Phyllis, of Brookport, Ill.; one sister, Sue Conrad, of Cardwell and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Jim Daily and three sisters, Icel Pierce, Lillian Green and Maude Cup.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, Sept. 4, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Arbyrd, Mo. with the Rev. Leland Dement officiating.
Burial was in the Cardwell cemetery.
Pallbearers were Sonny, Robert and Frank Pierce, Allen Warner and Stevie Neal Giltner and Tim Duty.
