Pauline Thompson
Pauline Thompson, 89, of Cardwell, Mo., died Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2002, at the Arkansas Methodist Hospital in Paragould, Ark.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Senath, Mo.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 6, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow at the McGrew cemetery.
Irene Howard
Irene S. Howard, 100, of Holcomb, Mo., died Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2002, at the General Baptist Nursing Home in Campbell, Mo.
Born Sept. 2, 1902, in Princeton, Ky., daughter of the late Preston and Elizabeth Clark Steele, she was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Holcomb.
She married
Carl Calvin Howard, who preceded her in death on Jan. 13, 1957. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Ernestine Howard; one grandson, Ernie Woodall; one brother and several sisters.
Survivors include one daughter, Wanda Lee Woodall, of Clarkton, Mo.; one son, Carl Howard and wife, Lucille, of Holcomb; four grandchildren, Linda Kay Rosamond, of Whittier, N.C., Karen Rose Howard, of Holcomb, Billy H. Woodall, of Wardell, Mo. and Wanda C. Clarkston, of Florissant, Mo.; three great-grandchildren, Renee Clarkston, of Florissant, Ernie Woodall, Jr., of Clarkton and Billy Woodall, Jr., of Wardell; six great-great-grandchildren, Austin, Trevor and Parker Woodall, all of Clarkton and Chris, Andy and Samantha Woodall, all of Wardell and one sister, Kewpie Remow, of Little Rock, Ark.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. today, Thursday, Sept. 5, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Campbell with the Rev. Jack Allen officiating.
Burial was in the Stanfield cemetery at Clarkton.
Bobby Hughes
Bobby Lynn Hughes, 59, of Charleston, Mo., died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2002, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo.
Born July 29, 1943, in Gideon, Mo., son of Mary Louise Powers Taylor, of Gideon and the late William Herschel Hughes, he was owner and operator of Bertrand Service Station amd Convenience Store , worked in construction and was a member of the Lynn Oak Baptist Church in Clarkton, Mo.
On June 9, 1962, he married
Shirley Berry, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include one daughter, Tammy Hughes, of Charleston; one brother, Wayne Hughes, of D'Iberville, Miss.; six sisters, Shirley Lance, of Marshfield, Phyllis Hughes, of Pass Christian, Miss., Peggy Timms, of Kennett, Sandy Pickard, of Gulfport, Miss., Judy Anderson, of Poplar Bluff, Mo. and Debbie Scott, of Gideon; one step-brother, Dale Taylor, of Swartz Creek, Mich.; two step-sisters, Joann Tuggle, of Portland, Ariz. and Mary Lou Moylan, of Clarkton and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by twin sisters.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Thursday, Sept. 5, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, at the McMikle Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Pipkins officiating.
Burial will follow at the Oak Grove cemetery.
Pallbearers are Randy Tuggle, Brian Earnheart, Michael and Dean Stevens, Vernon Scott and Michael Hurtman.
Shirley Mitchell
Shirley Jean Davis Mitchell, 56, of Kennett, died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2002, at Dyersburg Methodist Health Care in Dyersburg, Tenn.
Born July 20, 1946, in Brookland, Ark., daughter of Melba Seats Hazelwood, of Paragould, Ark. and the late Earnest L. Davis, she attended the Elm Grove Baptist Church in Kennett.
Survivors also include two daughters, Karen S. Ibarra, of Anaheim, Calif. and Anna M. Shown, of Kennett; one brother, Thomas E. Davis, of Harrison, Ark.; two sisters, Mary L. Enriques, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla. and Barbara A.Hays, of Paragould; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her step-father, Gerald E. Hazelwood and two brothers, Earnest Lee and Jerry Wayne Davis.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today, Thursday, Sept. 5, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. Charles James officiating.
Burial was in the Pine Log cemetery at Brookland.
Pallbearers were John Fox, David D. Davis, Scotty Blue, Mike Sherfield, Gary Martin and Van Taylor.
Honorary pallbearers were Cecile Bradley and Beverly Hill.
Arthur Muse
Arthur S. Muse, 44, of Cape Girardeau, Mo., formerly of Wardell, Mo., died Thursday, Sept. 5, 2002, at Heartland Care & Rehab. in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete with the Bradshaw-Osburn Funeral Home of Wardell.
Maxine Stone
Maxine Stone, 73, of Senath, Mo., died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2002, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.

Patrick Tyler
Patrick William Tyler, 32, of Jacksonville, Ark., died Thursday, Aug. 29, 2002, in Jacksonville.
He was the son of James and Betty Tyler, of Jacksonville.
Survivors also include one brother, Mike Tyler, of Jacksonville; two sisters, Linda Hallsell, of Memphis, Tenn. and Janet Walters and husband, John, of Jonesboro, Ark. one aunt, Mary Kitchens, of Senath and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, at the Moore's Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville.
William Hughes
William L. Michael Hughes, 79, of Newell, Ala., died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2002, at his residence.
Born July 24, 1923, in Grassy, Mo., son of the late William Leonard and Reka Myers Hughes, he was a U.S. veteran serving in WWII.
Survivors include two daughters, Jerry Stroud, of Newell and Louise Tucker, of Lilburn, Ga.; one son, Mike B. Hughes, of Tampa, Fla.; one sister, Jerry Edwards, of Florence Ala.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Vera Hughes.
Visitation will be from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at the Benefield Funeral Home in Wedowee, Ala.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, at the Benefield Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Glenn Ward officiating.
Burial will follow at the Oak Ridge cemetery in Kennett.
Arthur Muse, Jr.
Arthur Senator Muse, Jr., 45, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., formerly of Wardell, Mo., died Thursday, Sept. 5, 2002, at Heartland Care and Rehab. in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
Born Sept. 4, 1957, in Portageville, Mo., son of the late Arthur Senator and Dorothy Estel Lumley Muse, Sr., he was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include one brother, D. Wayne Muse and wife, Ruth, of Poplar Bluff; three nieces, Karla Gunning, of Hinesville, Ga., Cammie Muse, of Memphis, Tenn. and Hailey Muse, of Poplar Bluff and one great niece, Savannah Muse, of Poplar Bluff.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden, Mo.
No services are planned.
Maxine Stone
Maxine Stone, 73, of Senath, Mo., died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2002, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Friday, Sept. 6, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Senath.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at the Assembly of God Church in Senath with the Revs. Virgil Weaks and Wayland Tom officiating.
Burial will follow at the Senath cemetery.
Linda Russell
Linda Ruth Russell, 54, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2002, at her home.
Born June 18, 1948, at Cottonwood Point, Mo., a daughter of the late Ernest and Vina Marcella Payne Flippo, she was a licensed practical nurse and personnel director at White & Associates, Caruthersville.
In Nov. 1985, she married
Lloyd "Buddy" Russell who survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Tina Rushing of Caruthersville; a son, Erik Jackson of Caruthersville; a step-daughter, Kimberly Kelley of Manila, Ark.; a step-son Chip Russell III of Blytheville, Ark.; a brother, Ernest Richard Flippo of Caruthersville; two sisters, Mary France Franklin of Greenfield, Tenn. and Vina Sue Carpenter of Booneville, Miss.; four grandchildren, Sara Rushing and Collin Rushing of Caruthersville and Kalyn Harris and Aubrey Kelly of Manila.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley Marie Flippo and Lajeanne Flippo.
Funeral services were 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 6, in H.S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Caruthersville with the Rev. Jack Allen Jones officiating.
Burial was in the Maple cemetery at Caruthersville.
Pallbearers were Ricky Flippo, Tom Flippo, William Franklin, James Carl Baker, Robert Hundhausen and B.J. Vujicic.
Maxine Stone
Maxine Stone, 73, of Senath, Mo., died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2002, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
Born July 22, 1929, in Leachville, Ark., she was a daughter of the late Gilbert and Forence Opal Springer Hyde.
Survivors include two daughters, Janice Beck and her husband, Wesley, of Rector, Ark., and Glenda Sue Badgley and her husband, Thomas, of Davison, Mich.; a sister, Mazel Braden of Senath; five grandchildren, Brad Tinnin, Valorie LeFevre, Jason, Chad and Angela Beck; four great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Amanda Tinnin and Jacob and Ashtyn Beck.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Wallace Hyde and three sisters, Lora Nelson, June Pickett and Helen Poole.
Funeral services were Saturday, Sept. 7, at the Assembly of God Church in Senath with the Revs. Virgil Weaks and Wayland Tom officiating.
Burial was in the Senath cemetery under direction of McDaniel Funeral Service of Senath.
Grandsons and nephews served as pallbearers.
