Patricia DeClue
Patricia Ann DeClue, 45, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., died Monday, Sept. 23, 2002, at University Hospital in Columbia, Mo.
Born May 17, 1957, in St. Louis, Mo., daughter of the late Ardell "Bud" and Evelyn Juanita Meyers Harris, she was a homemaker and of the Pentecostal faith.
On March 30, 1979, in Chillicothe, Ill., she married
Kenneth DeClue, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include three sons, Keith Ardell, Daniel Allen and Brian Lee DeClue, all of Poplar Bluff and one brother, Jim Harris and wife, Kathleen, of Pevely, Mo.
She was preceded in death by one son, Patrick DeClue and one sister, Debbie Harris.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, at the Landess Funeral Home in Campbell, Mo.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jerry Lemons officiating.
Burial will follow at the Elder cemetery in Campbell.
Naoma Gill
Naoma Ruth Gill, 88, of Blytheville, Ark., died Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2002, at her residence.
Born in Hayward, Mo., daughter of the late Earl and Alice Ruddle Magers, she taught school in the Dell, Ark. Public School System and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dell.
She married
Lester Gill, who preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Robert "Bobby" Gill, of Kennett and Lester Gill, Jr., of Jonesboro, Ark.; two sisters, Mamie Griffin, of Blytheville and Irene Duncan, of Dell; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27, at the First United Methodist Church in Dell.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27, at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Marilyn Webb officiating.
Burial will follow at the Elmwood cemetery in Blytheville.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Dell.
Howard Funeral Service of Manila, Ark. is in charge of arrangements.
Wanda Dregman
Wanda "Penny" Dregman, 77, of Kennett, died Monday, Sept. 23, 2002, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
Born Sept. 19, 1925, in Kennett, she was the daughter of the late Cecil A. and Mary Ann Gay Rogers.
In 1953, she married
Kenneth Dregman, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one grandchild and one brother, Virigil D. Rogers.
Survivors include one daughter, Carlotta J. Malady, of Kennett; two brothers, Alonzo W. Rogers, of St. Louis, Mo. and Robert Rogers, of Kennett; one sister, Norma L. Drumm, of Collinsville, Ill.; five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today Friday, Sept. 27, at the McDaniel Fineral Home Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. Billy Fox officiating.
Burial was in the Oak Ridge cemetery at Kennett.
Pearl Rawlings
Pearl Rawlings, 86, of Arnold, Mo., died Thursday, Sept. 26, 2002, at Delmar Gardens South in St. Louis, Mo.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. today, Friday, Sept. 27, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden, Mo.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow at the Memorial Park cemetery in Malden.
Henry Mays
Henry Mays, 90, of Kennett, died Thursday, Sept. 26, 2002, at his residence.
Born Feb. 27, 1912, in Bear Creek, Ala., a son of the late Noah Ark and Mollie Burlison Mays, he was a member of the Slicer Street Church of Christ in Kennett.
He married
Lillie Brittnell who preceded him in death. He later married
Louella Gillihan Carnett who survives of the home.
Other survivors include two sons, Dennis Mays of Kennett and Jimmy Mays of St. Peters, Mo.; a step-daughter, Joyce Bost of Kennett; four brothers, Clefus and Clebourn Mays both of Haleyville, Ala., Cecil Mays of Bear Creek. Lebourn Mays of Hamilton, Ala.; two sisters, Nora Lee Yielding of Hackleburg, Ala. and Pear of Louisiana; six grandchildren and three step-grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. today, Sunday, Sept. 29, at McDaniel Funeral Service Chapel in Kennett with Spencer Furby officiating.
Burial will be in Memorial Gardens cemetery in Kennett.
Pallbearers are Michael Mays, Steven Mays, Keith Mays, Kahlon Mays, Richard Nixon, II, and Kyle Broker.
Honorary pallbearers are Cameron Broker and Patrick Mays.
Pearl Rawlings
Pearl Irene Rawlings, 86, of St. Louis, Mo., died Thursday, Sept. 26, 2002, at Delmar Gardens South in St. Louis.
Born May 14, 1916, at Lilbourn, Mo., a daughter of the late Cammie and Maudie Lawson Whittington, she was of the Baptist faith.
On Feb. 3, 1940, she married
Millard Lee Rawlings who preceded her in death Jan. 25, 1986. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Betty Jewel Whittington and Donna Jean Booker, one sister, Opal Ford and one grandchild, Reggie Rawlings.
Survivors include two daughters, Ann Vancil of Arnold, Mo. and Sandra Barnes of Heber Springs, Ark.; two sons, Donald Rawlings of Malden and Dallas Rawlings of St. Charles, Mo., two brothers, Walter Whittington of Springfield, Mo. and Virgil Whittington of Troy, Mo.; five sisters, Atlanta Fuller of Rockford, Okla., Lorene Winston of Caseyville, Ill., Mary Lou Coleman of Collinsville, Ill., Ruby Box of Troy, Ill. and Shirley Parson of Cahokia, Ill., 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, in Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Malden with the Rev. Jack Allen officiating.
Burial was in Memorial Park cemetery in Malden.
Ollie Truss, Jr.
Ollie Truss, Jr., 19, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Saturday, Sept. 21, 2002.
Born June 23, 1983, in Hayti, Mo., a son of Joyce Eubanks and Ollie Truss, Sr., of Caruthersville, he was a student at Caruthersville High School.
Survivors also includes six sisters, Arlene Truss of Oklahoma City, Okla., Yolanda Rodgers, Wentress Grady, Cassandra Eubanks, Joyce Truss and Latonya Eubanks, all of Caruthersville; two brothers, Dewayne Eubanks of Atlanta, Ga. and Maurice Eubanks of Oklahoma City, Okla.; grandmothers Jessie Eubanks and Ruth Truss both of Caruthersville.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Lucy Mae and Hosea Eubanks and Helen and Percy Truss, Sr.
Funeral services were 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, at the Pentecostal Power New Life Deliverance Temple in Caruthersville with the Rev. Jacquin Benson officiating.
Burial was in Morgan Ridge cemetery in Caruthersville.
Pallbearers were Cortez Carter, Michael Hooks, Tyere Alston, Luther Robinson, Steve Motton, George Bryant, Charles Jones, Derrick Hathaway, John Henry Donald and Keesaw Williams.
Honorary pallbearers were Eric Woods, Gary Bryant, Charles Woods, Maurice Bryant and Jonathan Taylor.
H.S. Smith Funeral Home of Caruthersville was in charge of services.
Mary Ates
Mary Jo Ates, 74, of Stanton, Texas, formerly of Malden, Mo., died Sunday, Dec. 29, 2002, at Stanton Care Center.
Born Jan. 2, 1928, in Malden, she worked for the Stanton Independent School District and was of the Baptist faith.
She married
Robert Lee Ates, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one son, Billy Joe Clark; one grandson, Terry Jones and a great-granddaughter, Donna Hope Garza.
Survivors include four daughters, Donna Clark and Linda Mendez, both of Stanton, Linda Jones of Missouri and Joyce Turner, of Joplin, Mo.; three sons, Roger Ford, of Florida, John Clark, of Midland and Charles Clark, of Austin, Texas; five brothers, Bill Burke, of Chicago. Ill., Jim Burke, of Hayti, Mo., Bob Burke, of Malden, Charlie Burke, of Missouri and Donald Burke, of Florida; 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31, at the Stanton Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Stanton with Kelly Inman officiating.
Burial will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 2, 2003, at the Memorial cemetery in Malden.
William Buck
William "Seb" Sylvan Buck, 92, of Hornersville, Mo., died Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2002, at Madison Nursing Home in Fredericktown, Mo.
Born April 13, 1910, in Hornersville, son of the late Newt and Frances Caroline Harkey Buck, he was a farmer and was in the service station business. He was a member of the First Baptist church in Hornersville.
On Sept. 13, 1935, in Hollywood, Mo., he married
Myrtess Crawford, who preceded him in death on Oct. 26, 1987. He was also preceded in death by one son, Bobby Crawford Buck; two brothers, Edison and Wesley Buck and three sisters, Gladys Dollins, Lizzie Buck and Florence Ridings.
Survivors include one daughter, Frances Branum, of Fredericktown; one sister, Oleda Brewer, of Paragould, Ark. one brother, Alvy Buck, of Kennett; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. today, Thursday, Jan. 2, 2003, at the First Baptist Church in Hornersville with the Rev. Doug Clinton officiating.
Burial was in the Memorial Gardens cemetery at Kennett.
Bradshaw-Emerson Funeral Home of Hornersville was in charge of arrangements.
Wendell Dunning
Wendell Brent Dunning, 48, Hollandale, Miss., formerly of the Buckeye community near Leachville, Ark., died Friday, Dec. 27, 2002, at Murphy, Miss.
Born in Leachville, son of the late Jack and Betty Buck Dunning, he was employed at Delta Pride Catfish and was a member of the New Providence Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Susie Dunning, of Hollandale; one son, Dustin Brent Dunning, of Hollandale; one daughter, Brittany Dunning, of Hollandale; two nieces, Tonya Atchison, of Rives, Mo. and Mitzi Medsker, of Hornersville; one great-nephew, Jared Shaneyfelt, of Rives and two great-nieces, Lindsey Atchison, of Rives and Jacklynn Medsker, of Paragould, Ark.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Monda Johnson.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, at the Howard Funeral Home Chapel in Manila, Ark. with the Rev. David Powell officiating.
Burial was in Manila cemetery.
Jessie Fowler
Jessie Fowler, 68, of Jonesboro, Ark., formerly of Kennett, died Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2003, at St. Bernard Hospital in Jonesboro.
