Campbell Barnwell "CB" Anderson, Jr.
Campbell Barnwell "CB" Anderson, Jr., 90, of Hornersville, Mo., died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2001, at his residence. Born Oct. 14, 1910, in Hornersville, son of the late C.B and Bessie Caneer Anderson, he was a former mayor of Hornersville, a member of the Hornersville Masonic Lodge No. 215 AF & AM, Farmer and Merchants Club of Hornersville and served on the board of the Housing Authority. He was a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church in Hornersville and worked as maintenance supervisor at Hornersville School. On Dec. 25, 1931, he maried Vera Louise Edwards, who preceded him in death on Sept. 30, 1998. Survivors include one daughter Jane Jamerson and husband, Jimmie, of Hornersville; one son, Rev. Campbell Barnwell Anderson III and wife, Annabelle, of Jacksonville, Texas; one grandson, Tim Jamerson and wife, Veronica, of Hornersville; one granddaughter, Winna Bibbs and husband, Rick, of Hornersville; one great-grandson, Aaron Jamerson, of Hornersville; one great-granddaughter, Emily Jamersom, of Hornersville and three special friends, Dub Ford, W.B. McFarland and Leon Huffines, all of Hornersville. He was preceded in death by one sister, Myrl Widmeyer. Visitation will be held at 6 p.m. today, Tuesday, Aug. 14, at the Bradshaw Emerson Funeral Home in Hornersville. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, at the First Baptist Church in Hornersville with the Revs. Kevin Knox and Doug Clinton officiating. Burial will follow at the Horner cemetery in Hornersville.
Leatha Mae Bell
Leatha Mae Bell, 53, of Cape Girardeau, Mo., died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2001, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. Born Sept. 1, 1947, in Wilson, Ark., she was the daughter of Perllean Davis, of Kennett and the late George Hall. Survivors also include five daughters, Perllean Turner and husband, Robert, of Kennett, Cassandra Oliver, Latasha Herrion and husband, Rodrick, Gerdia Bell and Fanta Lee, all of Columbia, Mo.; one son, Percy Brown, of Columbia; a son-in-law, Jerry Treadwell; five sisters, Georgia Johnson, of Illinois, Ella Hill, of Washington, Gerdia Kinnon and husband, Booker T., of Steele, Mo., Werna Kenny, of California and Maxine Lewis, of Kennett; three brothers, John Lewis, of Texas, Larry Lewis and wife, Ealine Lewis, of Caruthersville and Michael Lewis and wife, Rose, of Kennett and 17 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Bell, one daughter, Shawna Timothy, two sons, Darin Latimore and Terrell Brown and one grandson, Kerwin Johnson. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, at the H.S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Caruthersville with Bishop W.H. Johnson, Sr. officiating. Burial was in the Maple cemetery at Caruthersville. Pallbearers were Jerry Treadwell, Vennis Brown, Antonio Primer, Ivan Johnson, Robert Turner and Ronald Franklin.

Carrie Dean, 96, of Gideon, Mo., died today, Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2001, at Gideon Care Center in Gideon. Funeral arrangements are incomplete with the Bradshaw Funeral Home of Gideon.
Troy Clifford Grimsley
Troy Clifford Grimsley, 85, of Paragould, Ark., died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2001, at the Randolph County Medical Center. Born Aug. 17, 1915, in Arbyrd, Mo., he was the son of the late Johnny and Emma Grimsley. Survivors include his wife, Sharalyn Grimsley, of Paragould; two daughters, Brenda Jones and husband, Charles, of Maynard, Ark. and Melissa Messer and husband, Dewayne, of Paragould and two grandchildren, Melissa Bree'Ann Messer and Charles Levi Jones. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Lawrence, Zelmer and Bill Grimsley and three sisters, Maudie Lancaster, Mona Gilliam and Mae Hicks. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 13, at the First Pentecostal Church in Arbyrd with the Rev. Wayne Bowman officiating. Burial was in the McGrew cemetery near Senath, Mo. Pallbearers were Rick Grimsley, Bill Lancaster, Chuck Hall, David Kelley and Joey and Lynn Barnes. McDaniel Funeral Home of Senath was in charge of arrangements.
Mayme L. Harkey
Mayme L. Harkey, 98, of Senath, Mo., died Monday, Aug. 13, 2001, at National Health Care Center in Kennett. Visitation will be held at 6 p.m. today, Tuesday, Aug. 14, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Senath. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, at the First United Methodist Church in Senath with the Rev. Gene West officiating. Burial will follow at the Senath cemetery.
Thelbert L. Lowenstein
Thelbert L. Lowenstein, 94, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2001, at the Pemiscot Nursing Home in Hayti, Mo. Born Aug. 26, 1906, in Newbern, Tenn., son of the late Bernard and Viola Doeure Lowenstein, he was a contract painter before his retirement and a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was a life-time member of the American Legion Post No. 88 and a member of the Caruthersvile Auxiliary Police Department, which he helped to establish. In 1952, in Indianapolis, Ind., he married
Dorothy Lloyd, who preceded him in death on Oct. 26, 1999. Survivors include one son, Donald Jeffries, of Turlock, Calif; one grandson, Quanah Jeffries; one granddaughter, Krista Jeffries and a number of step-children. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary and Eva and three brothers, Ira, Jessie and Alvin. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Joe Campbell officiating. Burial was in the Maple cemetery at Caruthersville. Pallbearers were Ed Cecil, Buck Ferrell, James Heart, Bill Holligan, Lavanda White, Cleat Stanfill and Charlie Jones. H.S. Smith Funeral Home of Caruthersville was in charge of arrangements.
Laverne Roden
Laverne Roden, 78, of Kennett, died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2001, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark. Born June 3, 1923, in Holcomb, Mo., daughter of the late Marvin and Effie McClain Waddell, she was a member of Glass Memorial Baptist Church in Hayti, Mo. On June 28, 1941, in Kennett, she married
Eddie Roden, who survives of the home. Survivors also include two sons, Conn B. Roden, of St. Louis, Mo. and Tom Roden, of Memphis, Tenn.; one sister, Ruby Venable, of Kennett; three grandchildren, Shane C. and Sheena M. Roden and Stacey Christine Robinson and one great-grandchild, Payton Leigh Robinson. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 12, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with Revs. Tim Abanathy and Troy Alley officiating. Burial was in the Memorial Gardens cemetery in Kennett. Pallbearers were Buford Simpson, Harlan Loafman, Kevin Blansett, Jeff Huskey, Malcolm Babb and Jeff Pirtle. Memorials may be made to the Glass Memorial Baptist Church, Music Department, in Hayti.
Robert Oscar Brock
Robert Oscar Brock, 80, of Senath, died Friday, Aug. 24, 2001, at the Heritage Nursing Center in Kennett. Born Aug. 30, 1920, in Poe, Mo., he was the son of the late John and Nancy Dean Brock. On April 13, 1940, he married
Mae A. Bledsoe, who survives of the home. Also surviving are two sons, Donald Earl Brock and his wife, Cora Nell and Garry Robert Brock and his wife, Debbie, all of Kennett; two daughters, Frances A. Brock and Barbara J. Spence and her husband, Donald, all of Senath; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ed Brock and Eugene Brock of Toldeo, Ohio and two sisters, Nadine Armon of Toledo, Ohio and Eva Clark of Senath; eight other siblings who died in infancy and one grandchild. Visitation is today, Sunday, Aug. 26, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. in the McDaniel Funeral Service Chapel in Senath. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 27, in the Assembly of God Church in Senath with the Revs. Virgil Weaks and Jerry Pruitt officiating. Burial will be in the Senath cemetery in Senath.
Jim Davis
Jim Davis, 63, of Veneta died July 31, 2001. Born Aug. 2, 1937, in Kennett, son of Thomas and Elizabeth Davis, he graduated from the University of Missouri, served in the U.S. Air Force and retired from TRW after 24 years. He lived in Manhattan Beach, Calif. before moving Eugene in 1994. His interests included chess, woodworking and history. On April 13, 1980, in Inglewood, Calif., he married
Espie Johnson who survives of the home. He is also survived by a sister, Evelyn Watson of Post Falls, Idaho. No services were held. Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene was in charge of arrangements.
Evelina Kern
Evelina Kern, 76, of Kennett, died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2001 at her residence. Born June 5, 1925, in Kennett, daughter of the late Gordie F. and Mary Maragrete Seeger Davidson, she was a member of the Harrison Street Church of Christ. She married
Alfred Barnett who preceded her in death July 4, 1967. She later married
William Henry Kern who preceded her in death March 26, 2000. Also preceding her in death were one brother, Arville Davidson and two sisters, Trilla Faye Davidson and Delois Priest. Survivors include one sister, Mary Allene Sudduth of Kennett; three nieces, Sally Hall and her husband, Jim, of New Madrid, Janice Roberts and her husband, Dave and Tina Brown and her husband, Tolliver, all of Kennett and one sister-in-law, Cleo Gilmer of New Madrid. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, in the McDaniel Funeral Service Chapel in Kennett with Dwight Harrison officiating. Burial was in the Oak Ridge cemetery in Kennett. Pallbearers were David Roberts, Tolliver Brown, James Hackworth, Rick Gore, Ray Sowell and Al Hargrove.
Julius L. Limbaugh
Julius L. Limbaugh, 52, died Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2001, in Dallas, Texas. Born Dec. 29, 1948, in Kennett, son of the late Julius Hadley and Lorene Limbaugh, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the Swope Park Baptist Church in Kansas City. Survivors include his children, Brandon Limbaugh and his wife, Christie, of Wichita, Kans., Gabrielle Voyles and her husband, Sam and Jaye Lynn Limbaugh, of Lees Summit, Mo., Kelsey Jo Limbaugh of Independence, Mo. and Sarah Davis of Blue Springs, Mo.; two sisters, Anna Marie Keyser and her husband, Daniel, of Raytown, Mo. and Barbara Kuncl and her husband, Robert, of Plano, Texas and grandchildren, Zachary, Jared, Andrew, Austyn, Kaytlynn, Dylan and Caleb. He was preceded in death by a son, Zachary Limbaugh. Funeral services were at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Floral Hills Chapel, Kansas City, Mo. Burial was in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
Maxine Genavern McCoy
Maxine Genavern McCoy, 63, of Campbell, Mo., died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. Born June 17, 1938, in Fisk, Mo., she was the daughter of the late James Robert and Bertha Brown Ligons. On March 19, 1960, in Gideon, Mo., she married
Marvin McCoy who preceded her in death May 18, 1979. Survivors include two sons, Lloyd McCoy of Lucerne Valley, Calif. and Ron McCoy of Atoka, Tenn.; one daughter, Beverly Kelly of Hornbeak, Tenn.; four sisters, Willidean Morgan and Diane Willis of Campbell, Nadine Neigh of Van Buren, Ark. and Beverly Albright of Atlanta, Ga.; six brothers, Lavern Ligons, Larry Ligons and Ricky Ligons all of Campbell, Bob Ligons of Oswego, Ill., Denver Ligons of Ellsinore, Mo. and Kenneth Ligons of Lexington, Ky. and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Leon and Harvey Ligons. Visitation will be today, Sunday, Aug. 26, at 6 p.m. in the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Malden. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 27, in the Bradshaw Chapel with the Revs. Donnie Dell and Fred Albright officiating. Burial will be in the Stanfield cemetery at Clarkton.

Lillian Mae Boone, 93, of Holcomb, Mo., died Monday, Aug. 27, 2001, at National HealthCare Center in Kennett. Born May 13, 1908, in Manila, Ark., daughter of the late Thomas and Margie Smithson, she was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She married
Bonnie W. Boone, who preceded her in death on March 16, 1974. Survivors include two daughters, Rocina Parker and Chris Sellers and husband Jim, all of Kennett; three sons, Tom Wilson and wife, Linda, of Malden, Mo., Charles Wilson and wife, Judy and Jim Wilson and wife, Kay, all of Holcomb; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Irene Wilson; one son, Billy Gene Wilson; two brothers, Ray and Cecil Smithson and one sister, Dixie Davidson. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, Aug. 29, at the Stanfield cemetery in Clarkton, Mo. with Gaylon Mullins officiating. Landess Funeral Home of Campbell was in charge of arrangements.
Robert Brock

Geneva Marie Cates, 81, of Campbell, Mo., died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2001, at the General Baptist Nursing Home in Campbell. Born Oct. 29, 1919, in Pollard, Ark., daughter of the late Thomas William and Sylvia Alice Adami Maples, she was a homemaker, a member of the Campbell General Baptist Church and the Rebekah Lodge No. 845 in Campbell. Allen Arnold, Jr., who preceded her in death on Aug. 8, 1964. She later married
Joseph Lafayette Cates on Jan. 4, 1969, in Campbell. He preceded her in death on May 30, 1997. Survivors include two nephews, Jerry Maples, of Poplar Bluff, Mo. and William Maples, of Wappapello, Mo.; one niece, Mary Maples, of Poplar Bluff; five step-daughters, Francis Bankston, of San Antonio, Texas, Evelyn Allen and Myrna Noble, both of Malden, Mo., Agnes Allen, of Clarkton, Mo. and Kathryn Nichols, of Qulin, Mo.; two step-sons, Russell Cates, of House Springs, Mo. and Lewis Cates, of Campbell and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Carlos Allen Arnold; two brothers, Melvin Riley and Cletis Eugene Maples; one sister, Alberta Lee and one step-daughter, Juey Davidson. Glenn Fuller, 71, of Kennett, died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2001, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark. Funeral arrangements are incomplete with the McDaniel Funeral Home of Kennett.
Letta Clark
Letta Jo Clark, 77, of Cardwell, Mo., died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2001, at the Arkansas Methodist Hospital in Paragould, Ark.
Born in Leachville, Ark., daughter of the late Harry and Jenny Bogle, she was a retired bank teller and a member of the Cardwell First United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, Bill Clark, of Cardwell; two sons, John Clark, of Cardwell and Mike Clark, of Valley Park, Mo.; two daughters, Martha Blankenship, of Searcy, Ark. and Suzanne Bushong, of Paragould; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Bobby and Billy Clark. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today, Thursday, Aug. 30, at the Howard Funeral Home in Leachville. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31, at the Howard Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Thrasher officiating.
Burial will follow at the Cardwell cemetery.
Minnie Johns
Minnie M. Johns, 88, of Jonesboro, Ark., died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2001, at Jonesboro.
Born Oct. 31, 1912, in Oklahoma, daughter of the late W.E. and Minnie Hill Cope, she was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ in Steele, Mo.
On Feb. 27, 1932, she married
Sandy Lee Johns, who survives of the home.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Johns and wife, Bonnie, of Wauchula, Fla. and Billy Johns and wife, Connie, of Jonesboro; two daughters, Iris Ladd and husband, Gene, of Jonesboro and Elizabeth Fry and husband, David, of Starkville, Miss.; one brother, Paul E. Cope, of Eureka, Mo.; one sister, Winnie Ellis, of Steele; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Steele.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, at the Church of Christ in Steele with John Mundy officiating.
Burial will follow at the Pemiscot Memorial Gardens in Caruthersville, Mo.
Louis Riggs
Louis Riggs, 87, of Kennett, died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2001, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Thursday, Aug. 30, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Lanning officiating.
Burial will follow at the Oak Ridge cemetery in Kennett.
Glenn Fuller, veteran
Glenn Fuller, 71, of Kennett, died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2001, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark.
Born April 23, 1930, in Holcomb, Mo., son of the late John H. and Opal Ragsdale fuller, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean War, a member of the Varner River Baptist Church and a farmer.
On Feb. 16, 1957, he married
Anna Joyce Campbell, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include one son, Terry Fuller, of Kennett; four daughters, Nancy Williams, of Holcomb, Glenda Reynolds, of Richmond, Mo., Lisa Lawless, of Kennett and Barbara Martin, of Jonesboro; one brother, Charles Fuller, of Kennett; two sisters, Wilma Davidson, of Kennett and Gladys Lemonds, of Collinsville, Ill.; four grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Cecil Fuller and two sisters, Freda Hawkins and Eunice Lois Fuller.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. today, Friday, Aug. 31, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with Rev. Lonny Mittag officiating.
Burial was in the Memorial Gardens cemetery in Kennett. Pallbearers were Fred Blanton, Dallas Draffen, Charles Wilson and Henry, Danny and Lanny Broglin.
Honorary pallbearers were Curt Hicks and H.M. Julian. Memorials may be made to the Varner River Baptist Church.
