Stella Costephens
Stella Catherine Costephens, daughter of the late Richard Esarey and Anna Barks Esaraey, was born November 28, 1917, in Bernie, Missouri. She passed away January 4, 2003, at the age of 85 years, 1 month and 6 days. She was married
to Elvis Costephens on August 24, 1936.
Survivors include:
Her husband: Elvis Costephens of Holcomb, Missouri.
One daughter: Lucille Liles and her husband, Pete, of Corning, Ark.
One daughter-in-law: Shirley Costephens of Malden, Missouri.
Two brothers: Dean Esarey of Sikeston, Missouri and Curtis Esarey of Brighton, Illinois.
One sister: Mary Cato of Puxico, Missouri.
Five grandchildren: Delane Liles and his wife, Missy, of Corning, Arkansas, David Liles and his wife, Debbie, of Trumann, Arkansas, Judy Berry and her husband, Rodney, of Malden, Missouri, Buford Costephens, Jr. and his wife, Holly, of Kennett, Missouri and Dean Costephens of Malden, Missouri.
Six great-grandchildren: Chris and Erica Berry of Malden, Missouri, Mitchell and Colin Costephens of Kennett, Missouri, Jason Liles of Corning, Arkansas and Hillary Gould of Trumann, Arkansas.
Other relatives and many friends.
Mrs. Costephens was preceded in death by one son, Buford Costephens, Sr.; one grandson, Terry Costephens; one brother, Albert Esarey and one sister, Edna Scowden.
She was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Kennett, Missouri.
Visitation was 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, January 6, at McDaniel Funeral Service Chapel in Kennett, Missouri.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 7, 2003, at McDaniel Chapel in Kennett, Missouri, with the Revs. Brian Johnson and Dale Shoup officiating.
Burial was in Oak Ridge cemetery in Kennett, Mo.
Pallbearers were Delane Liles, David Liles, Burford Costephens, Jr., Dean Costephens, Rodney Berry and Chris Berry.
Honorary pallbearers were Larry Webb, Frankie Campbell, Jimmy Blankenship, Orville Alsup and Tommy Crawford.
Frankie Hunsperger
Frankie Ray Hunsperger, 45, of Dexter, Mo., formerly of East Prairie, Mo., died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2003, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo.
Born Jan. 21, 1957, a son of Frank and Rita Hunsperger of Dexter, he was employed at Ames Manufacturing in Bernie, Mo.
Other survivors include a son, Kris Hunsperger of Dexter, a daughter, Shawn Wood of Dexter; two brothers, Tom Hunsperger of Dexter and Larry Hunsperger of Clarkton, Mo.; four sisters, Bobbie Turnbow of Bloomfield, Mo., Kay Stafford, of Dexter, Jo Hunsperger of Grayling, Mich. and Tammy Burnett of Malden, Mo. and two grandchildren, Kelsi and Jordan Wood, both of Dexter.
Vistation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, at Watkins & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Dexter.
Funeral services will be 9 a.m. Friday, Jan. 10, at the Watkins & Sons Chapel with the Rev. Jack Hargraves officiating.
Burial will be in Wayside cemetery near Koshkonong, Mo.
Allen Redfield, Sr.
Allen Redfield, Sr., 73, of Clarkton, Mo., died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2003, at Ridgeview Nursing Center in Malden, Mo.
Visitation will begin 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10, at Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Malden.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, at Bradshaw Chapel with he Rev. Jack Allen officiating.
Burial will be in Stanfield cemetery at Clarkton.
Catheryn Tripp
Catheryn Delorse Tripp, 76, of Malden,Mo., formerly of Van Buren, died Monday, Jan. 6, 2003, at Ridgeview Nursing Center in Malden.
Born May 2, 1926, in St. Louis, a daughter of the late Jack E. and Lela Ann Gulley Riley, she was of the Pentecostal faith.
Survivors include a daughter, Charlotte Kaye Decker of St. Louis; a son, Harold Gene White of Festus, Mo.; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Dianne Thrasher.
Visitation begins at 6 p.m. today, Wednesday, Jan. 8, at Bradshaw Funeral Home Chpael in Malden.
Funeral services are 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, at the Bradshaw Chapel with Sister Karen Hartung officiating.
Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery, Malden.
George Luther
George Luther, 90, of Kennett, Missouri, formerly of Holcomb, Mo., died Sunday, January 5, 2003, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
Born December 29, 1912, in White Oak, Missouri, a son of the late Augustus Logan and Mary Caroline Robertson Luther, he was a member of Varner River Baptist Church.
He married
Fredia Crowe who preceded him in death June 6, 1986. He later married
Geneva Huffstutler Lemonds, who survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Donald Luther and his wife, Ammie, of White Oak, Missouri, and Quinton Luther and his wife, Pat, of Holcomb, Missouri; four sisters, Mabel Bush of Springfield, Missouri, Mary Connerman of Columbia, Missouri, Nellie O'Toole of Poplar Bluff, Missouri. and Phyllis King of North Platte, Neb.; five grandchildren, Teresa Depew and her husband, Coy, of Kennett, Missouri., Linda Rickman and her husband, Richard, of Holcomb, Missouri, Carrie Woolverton and her husband, Hugh, of Holcomb, Missouri and Danny Luther and his wife, Debbie, of Corpus Christi, Texas; and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation was 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, January 7, 2003, at McDaniel Funeral Service Chapel in Kennett, Missouri.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. today, Wednesday, January 8, 2003, at McDaniel Chapel in Kennett, Missouri, with the Revs. Dale Rickman and Lonnie Mittag officiating.
Burial was in Memorial Gardens cemetery, Kennett, Missouri.
Deen Esarey
Deen Esarey, 81, of Puxico, Mo., died Thursday, Jan. 9 at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo.
Born Dec. 13, 1921 in Bernie, Mo., he was the son of the late Richard Deen and Anna May Barks Esarey. He lived in Puxico most of his life and was a retired livestock and row crop farmer.
Survivors include one brother, Curtis Esarey of Brighton, Ill., one sister, Mary Cato of Puxico, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Albert Esarey and two sisters, Edna Scowden and Stella Costephens.
Visitation services will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 11 at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 12 in the Watkins and Sons Chapel in Puxico.
Burial will follow in the Bernie cemetery in Bernie, Mo.
Gladys Foster
Gladys Loreda Foster, 84, of Kennett died Wednesday, Jan. 8 at NHC Health Care in Kennett.
Visitation services will be held on Friday, Jan. 10 at 6 p.m. at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Kennett.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 11 at 2 p.m. at the Bradshaw Chapel with Spencer Furby officiating.
Burial will follow in Gravel Hill cemetery in St. Francis, Ark.
Allen Redfield, Sr.
Allen Redfield, Sr., 73, of Clarkton, Mo., died Tuesday, Jan. 7 at the Ridgeview Nursing Center in Malden, Mo.
Born May 28, 1929 in Greenwood, Miss., he was the son of the late Hines and Bettie Arnold Redfield.
Survivors include six sons, Tony Harris of Toledo, Ohio, Glenn Washington, of Jefferson City, Mo., Tony Jones, of Caruthersville, Mo., Garry Jones of Malden, Charles Jones of Baltimore, Md. and Kenneth Jones of Clarkton; four daughters Regina Dotson and Vercie Washington of Chicago, Ill. and Kathy Love and Debra Jones, both of Clarkton; one sister Florida Shaw of Memphis, Tenn. along with several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four sons, Allen Redfield, Jr., Roy and Curtis Redfield and Mark Jones.
Visitation services will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10 at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden.

Linda Edwards
Linda Joy Edwards, 55, of Maryland Heights, Mo., died Thursday, Jan. 9, 2003, in Maryland Heights.
Born Sept. 30, 1947, at Clarkton, Mo., a daughter of Daisy Carolline Miller Williams Snider of Bloomfield, Mo. and the late Emmett Woodrow Williams, she was affiliated with First Southern Baptist Church in Malden, Mo.
Suvivors include a son, David Edwards, of Nashville, Tenn., mother and step-father, Daisy and Loyd Snider of Bloomfield; two sisters, Carol Walton of Cape Girardeau, Mo., and Peggy Bender of Campbell, Mo.; two grandchildren, Briana Edwards and Emmett Edwards of Nashville and a companion, P.J. Burns of Maryland Heights.
Visitation begins at 6 p.m. today, Friday, Jan. 10, at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden.
Funeral services are 11 a.m Saturday, Jan. 11, in Bradshaw Chapel with the Revs. Kenneth Powers and Ronald Williams officiating.

Gladys Foster
Gladys Loreda Foster, 84, of Kennett, died Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2003, at NHC Healthcare of Kennett.
Born Sunday, July 21, 1918, in Pollard, Ark., a daughter of the late Randal and Flora Davidson Hayes, she was a member of Slicer Street Church of Christ in Kennett. She was a retired inspector for Simmons Mfg.
She married
Charley Peyton Foster who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a son, Archie Lee Foster and a daughter, Wilmo McAllister Anton.
Survivors include two daughters, Diann Slicer and husband, Sam, and Charlene Wayman and husband, Sam, all of Kennett; four sons, Ken Foster and wife, Barbara, of Brandon, Fla., Ralph Foster and wife, Diane, of Highland, Ind., and Lyman Foster and wife, Mavis, of Portage, Ind.; one sister, Pansy House of Hammond, Ind.; 19 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation is 6 p.m. today, Friday, Jan. 10, at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Kennett.
