Dana Hays

Dana Ann Hays, 36, of Campbell, Mo., died Friday, Jan. 10, 2003, at her residence.

Born June 12, 1966, in St. Charles, Mo. daughter of Shirley Ann Bagwell Simms, of Campbell and the late Cloys Derrel Oliver, she was chief billing clerk for the VNA in Kennett and a member of the First Baptist Church in Campbell.

On April 30, 1988, in Wappapello, Mo., she married Brian Hays, who survives of the home.

Survivors also include one son, Landon Clay Hays, of Campbell; step-father, Lou Simms, of Campbell; one brother, Kevin Oliver, of Plano, Texas; grandparents, Margie Bagwell and Cloys and Murrel Oliver, all of Campbell; father-in-law, Joyn C. Hays, of Dexter, Mo. and mother-in-law, Joella Brannan Hays, of Poplar Bluff, Mo.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Campbell with the Rev. Jeff Gatewood officiating.

Burial was in the Woodlawn cemetery-Landess Addition at Campbell.

Memorials may be made to the United Cancer Assistance Network, 2620 N. Westwood, Poplar Bluff, Mo. 63901.

Billy Kidd, Sr.

Billy D. Kidd, Sr., 54, of Dexter, Mo., died Friday, Jan., 10, 2003, at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.

Born June 3, 1948, in Dexter, son of the late Donald and Ruth Dixon Kidd, he was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam War and was employed at Southwestern Bell Company. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Dexter, where he served as deacon, past Sunday school superintendent, Sunday school teacher, leader for the Royal Rangers, served on the Light For The Lost Cook Team and was a member of the Men's Fellowship Club.

On Dec. 31, 1969, in Canalou, Mo., he married Patty Duncan, who survives of the home.

Survivors also include two sons, Billy D. Kidd, Jr., of Malden, Mo. and Michael Kidd, of Pensacola, Fla.; two brothers, Donald Kidd, Jr., of Junction City, Kan. and Ronald Kidd, of Sanford, Fla. and two sisters, Linda J. Lewis, of Dexter and Jane Meeks, of Alton, Mo.

A Celebration of Life Service was held at 2 p.m. today, Tuesday, Jan. 14, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Dexter with the Revs. Frank Heitman and Andrew Lovins officiating.

Burial with full military rites was held in the Caroline-Dowdy cemetery near Dexter.

Gary Lott

Gary Lott, 51, of Doniphan, Mo., died monday, Jan. 13, 2003, at his residence.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete with the Landess Funeral Home of Campbell, Mo.

Larry McNabb

Larry McNabb, 58, of Kennett, died Monday, Jan. 13, 2003, at his residence.

Visitation will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, at the McDaniel Fiuneral Home in Kennett.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, at the Oak Ridge cemetery in Kennett with Sonny Burgess officiatng.

Memorials may be made to the Delta Childrens Home.

Jim Mungle

Jim "Jimmie" Mungle, 81, of Kennett, died Friday, Jan. 10, 2003, at National Health Care in Kennett.

Born April 12, 1921, in Kennett, son of the late Grover C. and Amy J. Paige Mungle, he was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in WWII and a member of the Ely Baptist Church in Kennett.

He married Nina Pauline Smith, who preceded him in death on May 1, 1966. He later married Letha K. Barnes, on March 16, 1987, who survives of Dexter, Mo.

Survivors also include one son, Jimmie W. Mungle and wife, Judy, of Eden, N.C.; one daughter, Betty Jean Harris and husband, Don, of Kennett; one brother, Ike Mungle, of Kennett; one sister, Margie Moore, of Kennett; four grandchildren, Cassie J. Duncan, of Kennett, Jodone L. Bradley, of Blytheville, Ark., Jamie Rorrer, of Winston-Salem, N.C. and Jennifer Terry, of Raleigh, N.C. and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Milford, G.C. and Buck Mungle and three sisters, Lillie Crawford, Etta Masters Carr and Ora Cooper.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with the Revs. Don Slatton and Gary Henson officiating.

Burial with full military rites was held at the Memorial Gardens cemetery in Kennett.

Pallbearers were Mike, Gary and John Mungle and Jerry, Jack and Tony Crawford.

Honorary pallbearers were Jim Bird, Luke Carter, Berley Beck, Kenneth Ford, John Liles, Bobby Simmons, Tite, Doyle, Allen and Wilson Williams, Dick Hilburn, Tom Crunk, Rayburn Ross, Russell Green, Tommy Branum, George Nelson and Maurice Wallace.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 1013, Columbia, Mo. 65205.

Sandy Summerlott

Sandy Darlene Summerlott, 52, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003, at Poplar Bluff.

Born Sept. 14, 1950, in Holcomb, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Marvin and Francis Rouse.

On Jan. 10, 1968, in St. Louis, Mo., she married Thurman Summerlott, who survives of the home.

Survivors also include one son, Thurman Lee Summerlott, of Poplar Bluff; two daughters, Carolyn Thompson, of Cardwell, Mo. and Marlyn Kay Ganus, of Malden, Mo.; two brothers, Tony Rouse, of Senath, Mo. and Carl Rouse, of Fenton, Mo.; two sisters, Shirley Smith, of Granite, City, Mo. and Elizabeth Blaton, of Piedmont, Mo. and seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Myrtle Hopper and Mildred Lee.

Graveside services were held Monday, Jan. 13, at the Oak Ridge cemetery in Kennett with the Rev. Darrell Friday officiating.

McDaniel Funeral Home of Arbyrd was in charge of arrangements.

Leigh Tansil

Leigh Anne Tansil, 32, of Senath, Mo., died Monday, Jan. 13, 2003, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete with the McDaniel Funeral Home of Kennett.

Ronald Tucker

Ronald Allen Tucker, 78, of Cherokee Village, Ark., died Friday, Jan. 10, 2003, at his residence.

Born Dec. 26, 1924, in Hollywood, Mo., son of the late Robert Audie and Birdie Batterton Branum Tucker, he was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving in WWII, and a county agent for Caruthersville and New Madrid County. He was a member of the Ash Flat Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, DeRonda Tucker, of Cherokee Village; one son, Robert Tucker, of Memphis, Tenn.; one granddaughter, Heather Fell, of Memphis; one brother, Paul Tucker, of San Antonio, Texas and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Ruth Ann Fell; one son, Charles Mark Tucker and one granddaughter, Mary Miles.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at the Church of Christ in Ash Flat, Ark.

Memorials may be made to the Paragould Childrens Home, 5515 Old Walcott Road, Paragould, Ark. 72450-9983.

Heath Funeral Home of Hardy, Ark. is in charge of arrangements.

Roy Wellington

Roy Estes Wellington, 77, of Gobler, Mo., died Friday, Jan. 10, 2003, at the Methodist Hospital-Germantown in Memphis, Tenn.

Born March 7, 1925, in Lane Springs, Ala., son of the late Hugh Gustus and Alice Mozelle Gist Wellington, he was a shipyard worker and of the Pentecostal faith.

On July 15, 1949, in Iuka, Miss., he married Syble Earline Gentry, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by three sons, Clayton, Delbert and Roger; one daughter, Linda; one grandchild, Joshua; four sisters and three brothers.

Survivors include four sons, Marvin and Jerry Wellington, both of Clarkton, Mo. and Steve and Curtis Wellington, both of Steele, Mo.; three daughters, Rosemary Redden, of Steele, Anita Moore, of Gobler and Patsey Reid, of Campbell, Mo.; three sisters, Edna Jones, of Bragg City, Mo. and Louise Butler and Patricia Martin, both of Hayti, Mo.; 24 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today, Tuesday, Jan. 14, at the Bradshaw-Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Steele with the Rev. Mike Welch officiating.

Burial was in the Woodlawn cemetery at Hayti.

R.B. Woods, Jr.

R.B. Woods, Jr., 74, of Bernie, Mo., died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo.

Born Aug. 9, 1928, in Bernie, son of the late Roy Bickford Woods, Sr. and Elsie Dora Slayton Woods, he served as mayor of Bernie, owner and operator of Woods Supermarket in Bernie and was employed at Sikeston Wal-Mart. He was a member of the Community of Christ Church in Bernie, where he was an elder and served as district president for the church. He was a charter member of the Bernie Lions Club, past secretary of the Bernie School Board, a city alderman, board member of DAEOC, board member of Stoddard County IDA and a volunteer fireman.

On April 2, 1949, in Bernie, he married Marjorie Fears, who survives of the home.

Survivors also include two sons, Roy Bickford Woods III, of New Orleans, La. and Gary Steven Woods, of Lake Charles, La.; three sisters, Maxie O'Heren and Betty Branum, both of Bernie and Lorene Williams, of Santa Fe, N.M.; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Nadine Harmon.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Tuesday, Jan. 14, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Ron Rubottom officiating.

Burial will follow at the Bernie cemetery.

James Burrow

James Everett Burrow, 85, of Malden, Mo., died Monday, Jan. 13, 2002, at Ridgeview Nursing Center in Malden.

Born Jan. 19, 1917, in Rector, Ark., son of the late Art Stanford and Alice Leona Stokes Burrow, he was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in WWII, where he received a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. He was a carpenter and a member of the Kimball Baptist Church in Malden.

On July 9, 1963, in Kennett, he married Virginia Elizabeth Poe, who preceded him in death on June 26, 1987.

Survivors include one daughter, Sandi Telker, of Malden; one step-daughter, Barbara Johnson, of Neelyville, Mo.; one sister, Grace Spears, of Knobel, Ark.; two brothers, Bud Burrow, of Malden and Doyle Burrow, of California; seven grandchildren, Lance and Elizabeth Mullins, Billy Telker, Regina Williams, Renee Eaker, Rushelle Eudaley and Niki French and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Malden with the Rev. Jack Allen officiating.

Burial was in the Memorial Park cemetery at Malden.

Joyce Collier

Joyce Collier, 53, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., formerly of Kennett, died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2003, at Three Rivers North Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete with the McDaniel Funeral Home of Kennett.
