Heather Martin
Heather Ann Martin, 26, of Kennett, died Thursday, Jan. 16, 2003, in Kennett.
Born Aug. 6, 1976, at Poplar Bluff, Mo., daughter of Jim Kirk of Kennett and the late Signa Hedge Kirk, she was a homemaker.
She married
James Martin, Jr. who preceded her in death May 30, 2001.
Survivors include her fiancé, Ted Smithson of Kennett; one son, Chase Ryan Martin and one step-son, Brant Martin both of Kennett and their grandparents, James and Bonnie Martin, of Kennett; one brother, Micah Kirk of Doniphan, Mo.; one sister, Leslie Kirk of Kennett; one uncle, Frank Kirk and wife, Pat, of Gibson, Mo.; one aunt, Dolly Stanberry, of Kennett and two nieces, Meagan Kirk, of Kennett and Madison Kirk, of Doniphan.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with Charlie Crawford officiating.
Burial was in the Memorial Gardens cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Parks, Ben Cuff, Chad Neal, Lenny Young, Darren Isbell and Chris Higgins.
Mary Dye
Mary G. Venters Dye, of Kennett, died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2003, at National Health Care in Kennett.
Daughter of the late Hiram Chesley and Sarah Elizabeth Essary Robinson, she was a nurse's aide and a member of the Ely Baptist Church in Kennett.
On May 17, 1929, she married
Frank Venters, who preceded her in death on Dec. 5, 1965. She later married
Edgar Dye on Nov. 11, 1967 and he preceded her in death on April 12, 1969. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Roy Robinson and five sisters, Lela Cagle, Lola Thomas, Annette Laster, Elna Johnston and Stella Holt.
Survivors include two sons, Buddy R. Venters and wife, Cynda, of Corpus Christi, Texas and Robin Venters and wife, Linda, of Kennett; one daughter, Mona Sutton Aldridge and husband, James, of Kennett; seven grandchildren, Mike Sutton and wife, Cindy, Cindy Woodburn and husband, Brian and Belinda King and husband, Paul, all of Kennett, Kelly Sutton and wife, Jacki, of Elsberry, Mo., Brett Venters and wife, Kellye and Cindy Kittles and husband, Chris, all of Corpus Christi and Leann Ashburn and husband, Kevin, of Cumming, Ga. and 11 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. today, Tuesday, Jan. 21, at the Lloyd cemetery in Holcomb, Mo. with the Revs. Don Slatton and Dale Rickman officiating.
Pallbearers were Mike and Kelly Sutton, Brian Woodburn, James Aldridge and Paul King.
McDaniel Funeral Home of Kennett was in charge of arrangements.
Larry Christy
Larry Wayne Christy, 48, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003, at Memphis, Tenn.
Born May 11, 1954, in Hayti, Mo., son of Ann Christy Haymaker and the late Kenneth Christy, he was a self-employed carpenter and contractor.
Survivors include his mother and step-father, Ann Christy and Al Haymaker, of Bartlesville, Okla.; three daughters, Nichole McEuen and husband, Tim, of Bryant, Ark., Brittney Christy, of Atlantic City, N.J. and Stephanie Christy, of Dyersburg, Tenn.; one brother, Mike Christy, of Hot Springs, Ark.; one sister, Tammy Christy, of Adairsville, Ga.; one step-son, Christian Downing, of Hayti; three grandchildren, Kalyn, Christopher and Kylan and a special friend, Carla Downing, of Caruthersville.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti with the Rev. Mary Nelle McCulloch officiating.
Burial was in the Woodlawn cemetery at Hayti.
Pallbearers were Cleo Brown, Albert Graham, Jackie Overbey, Dewayne Shelly, Vincent Shepard and Tracy Wilkerson.
Amos Santie
Amos Santie, 84, of Malden, Mo., died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003, at his residence.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, at the Landess Funeral Home in Malden.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 24, at the Church of Christ in Malden.
Burial will follow at the Memorial Park cemetery in Malden.
Dessie Spicer
Dessie Spicer, 99, of Kennett, died Monday, Jan. 20, 2003, at the Heritage Nursing Center in Kennett.
Born Sept. 12, 1903, in Hornersville, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Walter and Ada McClain Neal.
She married
Clyde Spicer, who preceded her in death on March 19, 1987. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Levi Neal and one sister, Pauline Horton.
Survivors include one son, Gene Lemonds and wife, Olene, of Kennett; two grandchildren, Jim Lemonds and wife, Mary Ann, of Webster Grove, Mo. and Mary Ann Cowart and husband, Randy, of Fort Mills, S.C.; one nephew, Darius Horton, of St. Louis, Mo.; six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, Jan. 22, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. Gene Lancaster officiating.
Burial was in the Oak Ridge cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers were Roger Montgomery, Tom Kinsey, Glean Leach, Donald Parker, Jack Lemonds and Bob Sturgeon.
Honorary pallbearers were John Fisher, John Moyer, J.D. Faulkner, Jeff Wade, John McClain, Joe Rose and Gary Mayes.
Peggy Abmeyer
Peggy S. Abmeyer, 76, of Kennett, died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2003, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow at the Oak Ridge cemetery in Kennett.
Gary Alsup
Gary Alsup, 60, of Kennett, died Monday, Jan. 20, 2003, at his residence.
Born July 7, 1942, in Senath, Mo., son of the late John Anderson and Lula Belle Hart Alsup, he was a U.S. Army Veteran, retired from the 735th Poplar Bluff National Guard Main Support Battalion and had been employed by Darling Store Fixtures in Paragould, Ark. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Shriners and Scottish Rites and was an active member of the 3715 Aserie Eagles of Kennett.
On Nov. 8, 1981, in Kennett, he married
Emma Nell Ingram Sherrill, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include one son, Scott Alsup, of Caruthersville, Mo.; one daughter, Karen Alsup, of Virginia Beach, Va.; two step-sons, Mike and Jimmy Ingram, both of Kennett; one step-daughter, Emma Jo Ingram, of Lawton, Okla.; one brother, Bill Alsup, of Senath; one sister-in-law, Faye Alsup, of Mountain Home, Ark.; four grandsons, Logan and Spencer Alsup and Tyler and Gavin Ingram and two granddaughters, Ashley Ingram and Darnell Williams.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Winford Alsup and two sisters, Glenda Hill and Marilyn Ethridge.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today, Thursday, Jan. 23, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. Dale Rickman officiating.
Burial was in the Memorial Gardens cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers were Ernie Holmes, J.C. Counts, Freddie Greenway, Wimp Mount, Tom Odum and Steve Prance.
Honorary pallbearers were Scott Alsup, Mike and Jimmy Ingram, members of the 3715 Aerie Eagles and members of the Auxilliary 3715 Aerie Eagles.
Ronnie Crawford
Ronnie L. Crawford, 39, of Visalia, Calif., formerly of Kennett, died Monday, Jan. 20, 2003, at Lost Hills, Calif.
Born Aug. 18, 1963, in Kennett, son of Faye Crawford, of St. Louis, Mo. and the late Donnie "Butch" Crawford, he was employed by Pilot Travel Center as manager of the Lost Hills facility and was a member of the Unity Church in Hope, Ark.
On July 10, 1992, in Little Rock, Ark., he married
Melissa Annette King, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include two children, Casey Danielle and Daniel Ryan Crawford, both of Visalia; two brothers, Michael Crawford and wife, Jennifer, of O'Fallon, Mo. and Donnie Crawford, Jr. and wife, Laura, of High Ridge, Mo.; one sister, Amy Crawford, of Lake Ozark, Mo. and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. today, Thursday, Jan. 23, at the Miller Memorial Chapel in Visalia.
Burial was in the Visalia District cemetery.
Theorthis Lee
Theorthis Lee, 72, of Malden, Mo., died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003, at his residence.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gene Perkins officiating.
Burial will follow at the Macedonia cemetery in Malden.

Pauline Presson, 93, of St. Louis, Mo., formerly of Kennett, died Jan. 23, 2003, at National Health Care in St. Louis.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete with the McDaniel Funeral Home of Kennett.
Albert Roberts
Albert Louis Roberts, 79, of Manila, Ark., died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark.
Born in Marmaduke, Ark., son of the late Marvin and Nannie Lorene Smith Roberts, he was a concrete finisher and a member of the New Haven Baptist Church in Flint, Mich.
Survivors include his wife, Carrie Crouch Roberts, of Hornersville, Mo.; one son, Allen Ray Roberts, of Flint, Mich.; two daughters, Janet Faye James, of Bowling Green, Ky. and Mary L. Murray, of Manila; six brothers, J.T. Roberts, of Paragould, Ark., Dean, Alvie, John and Clarence Roberts, all of Flint and Gene Roberts, of Branch, Mich.; three sisters, Dorothy Crouch, of Manila, Mary Hadley, of Memphis, Tenn. and Wilma Milligan, of Batesville, Ark.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Marshall Wayne and Alfred Roberts.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, at the Howard Funeral Home in Manila.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at the Howard Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. William Piercy officiating.
Burial will follow at the Manila cemetery.
Amos Santie
Amos E. Santie, 84, of Malden, Mo., died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003, at his residence.
Born Dec. 29, 1918, in Fairdealing, Mo., son of the late John and Cora Morris Santie, he was a farmer, retired oil distributor, formerly owned and operated Santie Quick Shop in Malden and was a member of the Church of Christ in Malden. He was a former chairman of the Board of Public Works, served on the Dunklin County Ambulance Board, Commissioner for the Babe Ruth Baseball League and was an active supporter of the Boy Scouts and Little League.
On Dec. 23, 1942, in Dexter, Mo., he married
Edna Boner, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include two sons, Phil Santie and wife, Judy and Steve Santie and wife, Gina, all of Malden; one daughter, Jan Maddox and husband, Doug, of Malden; five grandchildren, Miayh Beaird, Sabrina Harris and John and Tyler Santie, all of Malden and Lori Nicholson, of Marion, Ark. and six great-grandchildren, Jordan and Ashley Beaird, Aubree and Lydia Harris and Jace and Zack Nicholson.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond and Paul Santie; four sisters, Pearl Noe, Mildred Hicks, Ruby Seals and Bell Evett; one infant daughter and one great-granddaughter, Abbey Harris.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Thursday, Jan. 23, at the Landess Funeral Home in Malden.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 24, at the Church of Christ in Malden with David McElwain officiating.
Burial will follow at the Memorial Park cemetery in Malden.
