Sarah Waller
Sarah Waller, 15, of Senath, Mo., died Friday, Jan. 31, 2003, at Senath.
Born March 29, 1987, in Kennett, daughter of Jospeh Waller and Linda Fincher Boone, she was a Sophomore at Senath-Hornersville High School.
Survivors include her parents, Linda and Roger Boone, of Senath and Joseph Waller; her grandparents, Barbara Fincher, of Senath and Rudy and Odell Dixon, of Pascola, Mo.; two brothers, Matthew Waller, of Kennett and Derick Waller, of Senath and one sister, Daniell Vierling and husband, Michael, of Piggott, Ark.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Verlon Fincher.
Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 3, at the First General Baptist Church in Senath with the Rev. Ted Winberry officiating.
Burial was in the Senath cemetery.
Pallbearers were Troy and Jackie Blurton, Stoney Holland, DeWayne Bea, Wayne Smith, Ray Doan and Paul Grimes.
McDaniel Funeral Home of Senath was in charge of arrangements.
Charles White
Charles E. White, 70, of St. Louis, Mo., formerly of Arbyrd, Mo., died in Jan. 2003.
Son of the late Ralph and Isabel White, he was a member of the Carpenters & Millwright Union Local 602 and was employed at Acme Erectors in Shrewsbury.
He married
Doris Moore, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include three daughters, Diane Gaughenbaugh and husband, Bruce, Cathy Johnson and husband, Woody and Susan Paulk and husband, Eddie and five grandchildren, Christopher, Lindsey, Leslie, Ashley and Emily.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Robert S. White.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday., Jan. 18, at the McKnight Road Church of Christ.
Burial was in the Oak Hill cemetery.
Hoffmeister Colonial Mortuary in St. Louis was in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Children's Home of Paragould, Ark., Camp Neotez and Christian Family Services.
Scotty Jones
Scotty Glenn Jones, 33, of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Kennett, died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003, at Memphis.
Born Oct. 22, 1969, in Kennett, he was the son of Gary Jones and Loretta Callahan Goddard.
Survivors include his mother, Loretta Goddard and husband, Mark, of Kennett; his father, Gary Jones and wife, Betty, of Barling, Ark.; one sister, Angie Jones, of Kennett; one step-brother, Donnie McMurtery, of Lebanon, Tenn. and two nieces, Dusti and Jade Jones.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, Feb. 5, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with Greg Pollock officiating.
Burial was in the McGrew cemetery at Senath, Mo.
Pallbearers were Jerry and Mike Stephenson, Danny, Joel and Billy Jones and Keith Morgan.
Ralph Berry
Ralph David Berry, 83, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., formerly of Gideon, Mo., died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003, at Three Rivers Healthcare North in Poplar Bluff.
Born June 19, 1919, in Gideon, son of the late David Walter and Belle Coveatt Berry, he was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in WWII and a member of the Assembly of God Church in Poplar Bluff.
On Dec. 4, 1937, in Gideon, he married
Mildred Louise Blowers, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include two daughters, Joan Bonk, of Poplar Bluff and Bonnie Downs, of Malden, Mo.; four sons, Wayne David and James Berry, both of Poplar Bluff and Eugene and Stephen Berry, both of Summersville, Mo.; one brother, Hayward Berry, of Poplar Bluff; 16 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ray and Howard Berry and four sisters, Pauline Cowell, Etau Taylor, Alpha Womack and Alma Beline.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. today, Thursday, Feb 6, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Vernon Woolverton officiating.
Burial will follow at the Memorial Gardens cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
Robert Hanners
Robert Hanners, 86, of Arbyrd, Mo., died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2003, at Memphis.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. today, Thursday, Feb. 6, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Arbyrd.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, at the Arbyrd Baptist Church with the Revs. Doug Cinton and Allan Cureton officiating.
Burial will follow at the Horner cemetery.
Darrell Jaques
Darrell Jaques, 70, of Holcomb, Mo., died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003, at his residence.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Thursday, Feb. 6, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. Dale Rickman officiating.
Burial will follow at the Oak Ridge cemetery in Kennett.
Harold Walker
Harold Eugene Walker, 91, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003, at Pemiscot Memorial Health Systems in Hayti, Mo.
Born May 6, 1911, in Jewell, Ark., son of the late John Joseph Elijah and Mary Susan Pickens Walker, he was owner/operator of H&W Auto & Electric in Caruthersville and a member of the Temple Baptist Church in Caruthersville.
On Sept. 6, 1932, in Caruthersville, he married
Alma Fay Alexander, who preceded him in death on Jan. 31, 1998. He was also preceded in death by five brothers; two sisters and one great-grandson.
Survivors include two sons, Bobby Walker, of San Antonio, Texas and Paul Walker, of Caruthersville; two daughters, Norma Linsman, of Caruthersville and Mary A. Camp, of Byron, Mich.; one brother, Claude Walker, of Grass Valley, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, at the H.S. Smith Fuenral Home Chapel in Caruthersville with the Rev. Bob Ring officiating.
Burial was in the Maple cemetery at Caruthersville.
Pallbearers were Tony Linsman, Robert Walker, Guy Hadden, David Smith, Mike Harden, Tommy Camp and Butch Henson.
Honorary pallbearer was Carl Anderson.
Mary DeBakey
Mary Lee DeBakey, 92, of Braggadocio, Mo., died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003, at Pemiscot Nursing Home in Hayti, Mo.
Born July 12, 1910, in Kenton, Ky., daughter of the late Alfred Lynn and Allie Belle Skinner Curtis, she owned and operated DeBakey's Grocery and Mercantile in Braggadocio and was a member of the Braggadocio Baptist Church.
On July 9, 1933, in Piggott, Ark., she married
Alexander Mark DeBakey, who preceded her in death on Sept. 29, 1956. She was also preceded in death by one son, Alford Malick DeBakey and one grandson, Joseph Michael Bryant.
Survivors include one daughter, Anna Belle Bryant, of Braggadocio and three grandchildren, Mark Bryant, of Kennett, Mark and Keith DeBakey, both of Colorado Springs, Colo.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 5, at the H.S. Smith Funeral Home in Caruthersville, Mo. with the Rev. Mike Melton officiating.
Burial was in the Maple cemetery at Caruthersville.
Pallbearers were Tommy Lynn Crowe, Lee Wigginton, Jim Pullam and Don, Alex and Les Drumwright.
Robert Hanners
Robert L. Hanners, 86, of Arbyrd, Mo., died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2003, in Memphis, Tenn.
Born Sept. 1, 1916, in Hornersville, Mo., he was the son of the late Dave and Edna Ann Kellums Hanners.
On May 22, 1943, in Senath, Mo. he married
Nellie Branum, who preceded him in death on June 28, 1986. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Eddie Hanners; one sister, Effie Williams and one grandson, Greg Hanners.
Survivors include three sons, Robert Hanners and wife, Pam, of Arbyrd, David Hanners and wife, Patsy, of Senath and Donald Hanners and wife, Sherry, of Kennett; four grandchildren, Tracy Brown, David and Chad Hanners and Felicia Hall and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 7, at the First Baptist Church in Arbyrd with the Revs. Doug Clinton and Allan Cureton officiating. Burial was in the Horner cemetery.
Pallbearers were Brent and Billy Don Branum, Lee Branum, Jr., Jeff and Derrick Higgins and Kenny Guthrie.
Honorary pallbearers were Welton Huggins, Dunk Allison, Jim Jamerson, Max Higgins, Ken Sikes, Elmer and Donnie Mac West, Dwayne Petty, Wink Zolman and Johnny Cardwell.
McDaniel Funeral Home of Arbyrd was in charge of arrangements.
Darrell Jaques
Darrell Jaques, 70, of Holcomb, Mo., died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003, at his residence.
Born Sept. 30, 1932, in Kennett, he was the son of the late James G. and Stella Mae Crafford Jaques.
On June 4, 1983, he married
Carmen York, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include one son, Warren Jaques and wife, Kellie, of Kennett; two daughters, Lori Montgomery and husband, Dale, of Senath, Mo. and Mary Thomas and husband, Steve, of Kennesaw, Ga.; other children, Dennis Modlin and wife, Emily and Larry Modlin and wife, Georgene, all of Campbell, Mo. and Laura Clark and husband, Max, of Holcomb; three brothers, Carol Jaques, of Doniphan, Mo., Raymond Jaques, of Orange, Texas and Wayne Jaques, of Ogden, Iowa; four grandchildren, Jennifer Montgomery, of Senath, Holly and Jamie Thomas, of Kennesaw and Gabrielle Jaques, of Kennett; one great-grandchild, Gracie King and seven other grandchildren, DeLaura and Dustin King, Lindsay, Whitney and Robbie Modlin, Margo and Jeff Rhine and Megan and Tyler Clark.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Lynn Jaques.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today, Friday, Feb. 7, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dale Rickman officiating.
Burial was in the Oak Ridge cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers were Steve, Gaylon, Terry and Brad Jaques, Steve Thomas and Max Clark.
Honorary pallbearers were employees of Baker Implement in Malden, Mo.
