Nola Morgan
Nola Louise Bettiegrue Morgan, 61, of Kennett, died Friday, Feb. 7, 2003, at Three Rivers North in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
Born Aug. 5, 1941, in Kennett, daughter of the late Haston and Carrie Bennett Jackson, she was a homemaker and a volunteer at the Heritage Nursing Home. She ws a member of the Coldwater Methodist Church in Senath, Mo.
She married
William Bettiegrue, who preceded her in death on July 17, 1989. On July 8, 1991, in Kennett, she married
Donald Morgan, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include three sons, David Bettiegrue, of Rogersville, Mo., Gary Morgan, of Doniphan, Mo. and Danny Bettigrue, of Paragould, Ark.; two daughters, Shirley Morgan, of Senath and Tina Fuller, of Marquand, Mo.; one brother, James Jackson, of Kennett; one sister, Imagene Jones, of Granite City, Ill.; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Oris Barnes.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. today, Tuesday, Feb. 11, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Kennett with the Rev. Bob McNabb officiating.
Burial was in the Oak Ridge cemetery at Kennett. Madge Pylate
Madge Eris Pylate, 79, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Friday, Feb. 7, 2003, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
Born Sept. 30, 1923, in Kosciusko, Miss., daughter of the late John Marvin and Lily Lorena Floyd Parker, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Caruthersville.
On Aug. 18, 1940, in Kosciusko, she married
John W. Pylate, Jr., who preceded her in death on Sept. 15, 2000. She was also preceded in death by one grandson, Stacy Sims.
Survivors include three daughters, Lynn Stewart, of Meridian, Miss., Madge Winstead, of Bogart, Ga. and Gayle Gorham, of Jackson, Mo.; two sons, John W. "Buster" Pylate, III and Jerry Pylate, both of Caruthersville; nine grandchildren, Steve Stewart, of Meridian, Susan Thrash and Lloyd Winstead, both of Atlanta, Ga., Scott Stewrt, of Ocean Springs, Miss., Peyton Sims, of Starkville, Miss., Tara and Wes Pylate, both of Caruthersville, Brandon Pylate, of Columbia, Mo. and Paige Pylate, of Jackson and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Feb. 9, at the Jordan Funeral Home in Kosciusko with the Rev. Barry Corbett officiating.
Burial was in the Parkway cemetery at Kosciusko.
Grandsons served as pallbearers.
H.S. Smith Funeral Home of Caruthersville was in charge of arrangements.
Kay Smith
Kay Frances Gurley Smith, 58, of Caruthersville, Mo. died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2003, at the Pemiscot Nursing Home in Hayti, Mo.
Born Sept. 26, 1944, in Kennett, daughter of Frances S. Johnson Gurley and the late Durward Lee Gurley, she worked at Brown Shoe Company and was a Deputy Circuit Court Clerk in the Child Support Division. She was a member of the Glass Memorial Baptist Church.
She was married
to Robert Lee Smith, Jr.
Survivors include her mother, Frances Gurley, of Caruthersville; one son, Rick Smith, of Memphis, Tenn.; two daughters, Denise Kay Smith, of Caruthersville and Sandra G. Smith Bracy, of Deland, Fla.; two brothers, Joseph "Joe" Gurley, of Memphis and Steve Gurley, of Woodbridge, Va. and one grandson, Dylan Storm Smith Bracy, of Deland.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, at the H.S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Caruthersville with the Rev. Michael Nealey officiaitng.
Burial was in the Little Prairie cemetery at Caruthersville.
Pallbearers were Tom, Jeff, Dennis and Gabriel Gurley, Larry McCall, Ben Sykes and Joe Gurley, II.
Helen Blackburn
Helen Blackburn, 78, of Puxico, Mo., died Monday, Feb. 10, 2003, at Three Rivers Healthcare-North Campus in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
Born Feb. 15, 1924, in Clarkton, Mo., daughter of the late Huston and Lena Waltrip Champ, she was a retired cook and a member of the Stanfield Baptist Church in Clarkton.
On March 16, 1941, she married
Robert Blackburn, who preceded her in death on June 13, 1973. She was also preceded in death by one son, Jerry Blackburn.
Survivors include one son Winfred Blackburn, of Puxico and two grandsons, Brad Blackburn, of Puxico and Brian Blackburn, of Cape Girardeau, Mo.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. today, Wednesday, Feb. 12, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Mo.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jack Allen officiating.
Burial will follow at the Stanfield cemetery in Clarkton.

Alfred Breedon, 65, of Kennett, died Monday, Feb. 10, 2003, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Wednesday, Feb. 12, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Brian Johnson officiating.
Burial will follow at the Memorial Gardens cemetery in Kennett.

Malcolm Snyder, Sr.
Malcolm P. "Pete" Snyder, Sr., 91, of Malden, Mo., formerly of Flint, Mich., died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003, at Three Rivers Healthcare-North Campus in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
Born Jan. 27, 1912, in Big Rapids Township, Mich., son of the late Frank B. and Lillie Revor Snyder, he worked for the Fisher Body Automotive Plant and was of the Catholic faith.
On Jan. 27, 1936, in Flint, he married
Della Loraina Burch, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by one son, Thomas Snyder; one brother, Adelbert Snyder and two sisters, Neva Robinson and Lillie Burkhart.
Survivors include one son, Malcolm P. "Mack" Snyder, Jr. and wife, Judy, of Malden; two daughters, Rae Clark, of Malden and JoAnn Dye, of Cut Bank, Mont.; 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, at the Landess Funeral Home in Malden with Rosary services at 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 14, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with Father David Dohogne officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 17 at New Calvary Catholic cemetery in Flint.
Lola Willis
Lola Willis, 77, of Kennett, died Monday, Feb. 10, 2003, at National Health Care in Kennett.
Born Oct. 4, 1925, in Selmer, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Ethel Cooper Barnes.
She married
Russell D. Willis, who preceded her in death on Jan. 28, 1980. She was also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include one son, Rusty Willis, of Kennett; one brother, Joe Barnes, of Selmer; two sisters, Shirley Cheshire, of Jackson, Tenn. and Lessie Mae Baker, of Forth Worth, Texas and one grandson, John Daniel Willis, of Kennett.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. today, Feb. 12, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. Ed Jansson officiating. Burial was in the Falcon cemetery at Selmer.
Maggie Wylie
Maggie Wylie, 93, of Bragg City, Mo., died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003, at National Health Care in Kennett.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Wednesday, Feb. 12, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with James Powell officiating.

Alfred Breedon
Alfred Breedon, 65, of Kennett, died Monday, Feb. 10, 2003, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
Born May 1, 1937, in Kennett, he was the son of Lola Marie Walls Breedon, of Kennett and the late George Alfred Breedon.
Survivors also include one son, Jeffrey Wayne Breedon and wife, Barbara, of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; two daughters, Kim Hollis and husband, Ron, of St. Louis, Mo. and Stacey Breedon, of Cape Girardeau; one brother, Jim Breedon, of Holcomb, Mo.; one sister, Nina Rhew, of Kennett and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. today, Thursday, Feb. 13, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. Brian Johnson officiating.
Burial was in the Memorial Gardens cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers were Brian Holt, Paul, Mike, Scott and Steven Brown and Jackie Callis.
Honorary pallbearers were Pres Churchwell, C.M. Smith and Wimp Mount.
Robert Green, Sr.
Robert W. Green, 81, of Laguna Woods, Calif., died Friday, Feb. 7, 2003, at his residence.
Born May 14, 1921, in Kennett son of the late Charles A. and Quida E. Green, he was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in WWII and received several medals and a battlefield commission as a lieutenant. He received his Free and Accepted Mason of California Award in recogniton for 50 years as a Mason and rose to the degree of Master Mason. He was retired from Farmers Mercantile Co. in Salinas and was a member of the Laguna Hills Rod and Gun Club.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Green, of the home; three children, Robert Green, Jr., of Dana Point, Thomas Green, of Clovis and Terri Rousseau, of Huntington Beach; one sister, Betty Pelts, of Kennett; two brothers, Charles Green, of Kennett and Bill Green, of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Patsty E. head.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 1, at Club House III in Laguna Woods, Calif.
