Margaret Hardin
Margaret Lanier Hardin, 90, of Henderson, Tenn., formerly of Senath, Mo., died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2001, at the Henderson Residential Care Center.
Born in Senath, daughter of the late Miles Henry and Cordie Bown Lanier, she was a member of the Campbell Street Church of Christ in Jackson.
In 1931, she married
Price Hardin, who preceded her in death in 1971.
Survivors include one daughter, June Roland, of Jackson; three sons, Joe Hardin, of Henderson, Don Hardin, of Paragould, Ark. and David Hardin, of Erin, Tenn; one sister, Grace McCabe, of Colorado Springs, Colo; 13 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 6 p.m. at the Campbell Street Church of Christ with Bros. Ray Hawk and Ben Flatt officiating.
There was a visitation at 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today, Tuesday, Sept. 18, at the Arbyrd Church of Christ.
Burial was in the Senath cemetery in Senath.
Memorials may be made to Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, Tenn. or Crowley's Ridge College in Paragould, Ark.
Casey Funeral Home of Henderson was in charge of arrangements.
Glen Kaiser
Glen Kaiser, 69, of Kennett, died Thursday, Sept. 13, 2001, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark.
Born April 30, 1932, in Kennett, son of the late William McKinley and Edna Southers Kaiser, he was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in Korea.
Survivors include one son, Chuck Kaiser, and wife, Donna, of Kennett; two grandchildren, Chris Kaiser and Cara Poe, both of Kennett and one nephew, Joe Kaiser, of Jonesboro.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Don Kaiser. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, at the Oak Ridge cemetery in Kennett with Rev. A.C. Gardner officiating.
Pallbearers were Paul Cuff, Frank Carter, Joe Kaiser, Bob Sturgeon and Larry Neighbors.
McDaniel Funeral Home of Kennett was in charge of arrangements.
Judy Lighthart
Judy Faye Lighthart, 45, of Hornersville, Mo., died Friday, Sept. 14, 2001, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
Born Feb. 4, 1956, in Kennett, daughter pf the late Elbert and Geneva Welker Gage, Jr., she was of the Pentecostal faith.
On March 9, 1986, in Kennett, she married
Ronald Lighthart, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include one son, Carl McDaniel, of Kennett; three daughters, Stephanie McDaniel, of Senath, Mo. and Cassandra and Serena Lighthart, both of Kennett; two sisters, Bona Tucker and Georgia Roper, both of Kennett; one brother, Jerry Gage, of Kennett and two grandsons, Caleb Hopper, of Senath and Lane McDaniel, of Kennett.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Denise McDaniel. Funeral servvices were held at 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 16, at the Bradshaw funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with Rev. Joe Lacy officiating.
Burial was in the Oak Ridge cemetery in Kennett.
Hattie Biggs
Hattie Biggs, 90, of Steele, Mo., died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2001, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Blytheville, Ark.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete with the Bradshaw Funeral Home of Steele.
Pearl Horner
Pearl Horner, 82, of Kennett, died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2001, at National Healthcare in Kennett.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Thursday, Sept. 13, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 14, at the Liberty cemetery in Caruth, Mo. with Rev. Gary Gelsinger officiating.
Ezekial Mitchell
Ezekial Edward Mitchell, 87, of Senath, Mo., died Tuesday, Sept. 11, at the Senath Nursing Home.
Born Sept. 23, 1913, in Conway, Ark. son of the late Willis Lee and Mary Shadrack Mitchell, he was a farmer and a member of the Calvary Full Gospel Church.
On March 24, 1939, in Rives, Mo., he married
Gerthyl Mae Ashcraft, who preceded him in death on Nov. 18. 1996. Survivors include four daughters, Lavada Nichols, of Cardwell, Mo., Marene Waters, of Little Rock, Ark., Peggy Wilson, of Marmaduke, Ark. and Sheila Berry, of Hornersville, Mo.; two step-sons, Othell (Shorty) Ashcraft, of Texas and Don Ashcraft, of Cooter, Mo.; two sisters, Mable White, of Rives and Bernice Reynolds, of Steele, Mo.; one brother, Esley Mitchell, of Forsythe, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by one daughter; one son; two brothers and one sister.
Visitation will be held at 6 p.m. today, Thursday, Sept. 13, at the Bradshaw-Emerson Funeral Home in Hornersville.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 14, at the Horner cemetery in Hornersville with Daniel Waters officiating.
Wade Demare
Wade Demaree, 72, of Malden, Mo., died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2001, at his residence.

Charles DeProw
Charles Devere 'Doodle' DeProw, 62, of Tallapoosa, Mo., died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2001, at his residence.
Born Oct. 10, 1938, in Tallapoosa, son of the late James Leroy and Mattie Demetrial Dempsey Deprow, Sr., he was a member of the Assembly of God in Tallapoosa and a past Mason Third degree.
On Sept. 20, 1958, in Tallapoosa, he married
Martha Humphries, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include two sons, Charles Michael and David Wayne DeProw, both of Tallapoosa; two daughters, Lori Denise and Elizabeth Ann DeProw, both of Tallapoosa; two brothers, James Leroy, Jr. and Howard Dale DeProw, both of Tallapoosa; one sister, Roberta Bridger, of New Baden, Ill. and five grandchildren, Justin, Courtney, Joshua, Meagan and Kainan, all of Tallapoosa.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, Donald, Gaylon, Larry, Buddy and Carlos DeProw and one sister, Alta Mae Abshier.
Visitation will be held at 6 p.m. today, Thursday, Sept. 20, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden, Mo.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. W.T. McDonald officiating.
Burial will follow at the Rosewood cemetery in Malden.
Roy Duke
Roy Duke, 61, of Doniphan, Mo., formerly of Senath, Mo., died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2001, at the Current River Nursing Center in Doniphan.
Visitation will be held at 6 p.m. today, Thursday, Sept. 20, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Senath. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ed Jansson officiating.
Burial will follow at the Senath cemetery.
Ethel Jones
Ethel Lee Jones, 89, of Kennett, died Monday, Sept. 17, 2001, at the National HealthCare Center in Kennett.
Visitation will be from 12:30 till service time Saturday, Sept. 22 at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Kennett. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. E.L. Shockley officiating.
Burial will follow at the Oak Ridge cemetery in Kennett. Hoyt Martin Hoyt Franklin Martin, 68, of Cape Girardeau, Mo., died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2001, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
Born March 24, 1933, in Mississippi, son of the late Noah Franklin and Daisy Emma Ivy Martin, he was a U.S. Army veteran serving in WWII, worked at a TV/small appliance repair service and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include three sisters, Ollie Yanick and husband, Andy, of Imperial, Mo., Jean Fortner, of Steele, Mo. and Maxine Martin, of Hayti, Mo.; five nieces, Pat Potts, of Hayti, Betty Baker, of Bradenton, Fla., Karen Terry, of Wentzville, Mo. and Karla Johnson and Kara Ward, both of Steele and two nephews, Jack Fortner, of Travis Air Force Base, Calif and Keith House, of Steele.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Herschel, Marvin and Lee Martin and one sister, Audrey Marshall. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. today, Thursday, Sept. 20, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Steele with Rev. Mike Melton officiating.
Burial was in the Mt. Zion cemetery at Steele.
Richard Simcoke
Richard Pritchett Simcoke was born to Charles and Laura Simcoke on May 1, 1910 in St. Louis, Missouri. He married
Elizabeth Black in St. Louis. In 1960, the family moved to Kennett, Missouri.
He is survived by his wife, their three daughters, four grandchildren and his sister. Family includes Ann S. Wood, husband Roy and their son, Robert Wood of Lake Placid, Fla., Susan S. Rodenbaugh, husband David and daughter, Heidi Rodenbaugh of Belleaire, Fla., Judy S. Earnest, husband Charles R., and their children Grant S. Earnest and Emily D. Earnest of Kennett and his sister, Lois S. Heineman of St. Louis.
Simcoke graduated from Exeter Academy in New Hampshire in 1928 and graduated cum laude from Amherst College in 1932. He earned an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Simcoke was active in the community and successful in local business in Pemiscot and Dunklin counties. In 1936, he acquired the Dolphin Land Company and the Dolphin Cotton Gin in 1939. He transformed the Dolphin Land Co., from a timber company into a modern diversified farm. In the 1960's he experimented with sugar beet production in the Bootheel. He was a founding member of the Missouri Soybean Association and a director of the American Soybean Association. He served as president of the Elk Chute Drainage District and Drainage District Number One of Pemiscot County. He was also a director of the former Bank of Kennett and its successor, First Union Bank. Other interests included oranges in Florida and cattle. For many years he was active in the Kennett Lion Club.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, September 22, 2001 at Belle Fountain cemetery in St. Louis.
Margaret Stevens
Margaret Dunmire Stevens, 84, of Russellville, Ark., formerly of Kennett, died Monday, Sept. 17, 2001, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville.
Born Jan. 30, 1917, in Kennett, daughter of the late John Haywood and Maggie Quertermous Dunmire, she taught elementary school in Texas, Florida, Georgia and Arkansas.
She married
George H. Stevens, who preceded her in death.
Survivors include three sons, John D., James S. and Thomas P. Stevens, all of Russellville; one daughter, Betsy McGuire and husband, Mike, of Russellville and five grandchildren, Kelly McGuire Anderson, of Little Rock, Ark., Jennifer Stevens, of Camden, Ark., Ashley and Christina McGuire, both of Russellville and Andrea Stevens, of Naples, Fla. She was preceded in death by one brother, Dr. John Q. Dunmire and one brother in infancy, John Dunmire, Jr., and three half-sisters Clara Donaldson, Marian Hunter and Ruby Westerland.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. today, Thursday, Sept. 20, at the First Christian Church in Kennett with Rev. Gary Mayes officiating.
Burial was in the Oak Ridge cemetery in Kennett. Pallbearers were Jim Storey, Mike Hunter, John McMullan, David Hine, John Moyer and Jim Colhouer.
Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church, Delta Children's Home, American Bible Society and American Cancer Society.
McDaniel Funeral Home of Kennett was in charge of arrangements.
