Austin B. Conway, 61, died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2001, at Methodist Hospital in Dyersburg, Tenn.
Born Jan. 19, 1940, in Clifton, Tenn., son of the late Roy D. and Roxie Elizabeth Prater Conway, he attended Cottonwood Point, Marvin Chapel and Caruthersville schools. He was a carpenter before his retirement.
Survivors include three sons, Austin Earl Conway of Finley, Tenn., Brian Scott Conway of Fordland, Mo. and Roy D. Conway of Ripley, Tenn.; two brothers, James Conway of Caruthersville and Donald Conway of Gramercy, La.; five sisters, Jo Williams and Venith Newman both of Hayti, and Demetra Dye and Beverly Waldrop both of Caruthersville.
Graveside services were at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 28, at the Maple cemetery under direction of H.S. Smith Funeral Home of Caruthersville.
Lillie Hanners
Lillie Hanners, 89, of Kennett, died Friday, Sept. 28, 2001, at National Health Care of Kennett.

James Henson
James Benjamin "Ben" Henson, 88, of Gideon, Mo., died Friday, Sept. 28, 2001, at Three Rivers Healthcare North in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
Born Sept. 26, 1913, in Gideon, son of the late James Arthur and Shaby Angeline Cato Henson, he was a retired farmer, member of Bethel Assembly of God Church in Gideon and an avid sportsman.
On Oct. 28, 1933, in Kennett, he married
Helen Lorene Humphrey, who survives of the home.
He is also survived by two sons, Jimmy Wayne Henson of Mechanicsville, Md. and Larry Henson of Benton, Ky.; five daughters, Peggy Gilkey and Sharon McAllister, both of Gideon, Katherine Richardson of Clarkton, Mo., Doris Hunt of Doniphan, Mo. and Patsy Fleming of St. Louis; 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Hinkle, a grandson, Joey Gilkey and four sisters, Marie Hartle, Cletta Berry, Lorene Obarr and Catherine Beck.
Funeral services are at 3 p.m. today, Sunday, Sept. 30, at the Bethel Assembly of God Church with the Revs. Michael Kohlbaker and Jack Allen officiating.
Burial will be in the Stanfield cemetery at Clarkton, under direction of Bradshaw Funeral Home of Gideon.
Steven Reid
Steven Eugene Reid, 41, of Portageville, Mo., died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2001, in Portageville.
Born Aug. 15, 1960, in St. Louis, he was the son of Sargent Samuel and Margie Vernice Adams Reid. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Sharon Cottrell on Jan. 29, 1993.
On June 8, 1992, in Montgomery City, Mo. , he married
Lisa Rowles, who survives of the home.
He is also survived by two sons, Christopher and Michael Rowles of Portageville; one daughter, Crystal Holm of Three Rivers, Mich.; two brothers, Billy Reid of Newbern, Tenn. and Henry Reid of Steele, Mo. and one sister, Barbara Birmingham of Hayti, Mo.
A memorial service was held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, at the DeLisle Funeral Home of Portageville with Earl Redden Jr. officiating.
Willie Risner
Willie T. "Bill" Risner, 72, of Portageville, Mo., died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born April 17, 1929, in Courtland, Ala., son of the late Tommie T. and Clyde Hazel Reeves Risner, he was employed by Mehrle Farms many years and was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Caruthersville, Mo.
On April 27, 1946, in Leighton, Ala., he married
Bernice Olene Springer, who survives of the home.
He is also survived by two daughters, Bernice Faye Bradley of Portageville and Verna Sue Hawkins of Ozark, Mo.; one son, Jerry Wayne Risner of St. Peters, Mo.; two sisters, Shirley Ann Waller of Gideon, Mo. and Willadean Alexander of Rogersville, Ala.; one brother, Franklin D. "Lannie" Risner of Hayti, Mo.; five grandchildren, Tammy Dawn Hall of Portageville, Kara Elizabeth and Tiffany Anne Risner, both of St. Peters and Candice and Courtney Hawkins, both of Ozark and one great-grandson, Richard Lee Bradley Jr.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, at the H.S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Caruthersville with the Rev. James McCulloch officiating.
Burial was in the Maple cemetery.
Pallbearers were Richard Bradley, James R. Murphy, Ben Baker, Chris Mehrle, John Barnett and Mike Barnett.
Louis Blume
Louis Gregory Blume, 59, of Dittmer, Mo., formerly of Glennonville, Mo., died Tuesday, July 30, 2002, at his residence.
Born May 25, 1943, in Glennonville, son of Xavier Anthony and Mary Theresia Bader Blume, he was a welder and of the Catholic faith.
On Nov. 3, 1962, in Glennonville, he married
Henrietta Moffitt, who survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Deborah Christian and friend, Jeff Carver, of Dittmer and Karen Townsend and her husband, Mike, of Imperial, Mo.; two sons, Rodney Blume of Villa Ridge, Mo. and Greg Blume and friend, Dana Allen, of Imperial; two sisters, Sr. Clara Ann Blume of Denver, Colo. and Agnes Sheets and her husband, Fred, of Imperial; two brothers, Jerome Blume and his wife, Sandy, of House Springs, Mo.; a brother-in-law, Don Eaton of Qulin, Mo.; a sister-in-law, Joan Blume of Campbell, Mo.; five grandchildren, Sarah Christian, Danny, Andy and Emily Blume and Cody Townsend.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Frieda Eaton and Mary Blume, an infant; one brother, John Blume.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2, at Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Campbell, where Rosary will be said at 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, at St. Teresa's Catholic Church in Glennonville with Father Glenn Eftink officiating.
Burial will be in St. Teresa's cemetery in Glennonville.
Muriel Garris
Muriel Lorene Garris, 69, of Malden, Mo., died Wednesday, July 31, 2002, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
Born Feb. 7, 1933, in Gibson, Mo., daughter of the late William Guy and Leona Romines Neal, she was a member of Voice of Zion Church in Malden.
On May 21, 1949, in Piggott, Ark., she married
Loyd Franklin Garris, who preceded her in death Aug. 14, 1997.
Survivors include two sons, Jimmie Garris of Malden and Kenny Garris of Granbury, Texas; two daughters, Mary Mims and Deborah Ader, both of Malden; one brother, Junior Neal of Charleston, Mo.; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Thursday, Aug. 1, at Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Malden.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2, at Bradshaw Chapel with the Rev. Roger Fowler officiating.
Burial will be in Rosewood cemetery in Malden.
Ronny Nelson
Ronny Jo Nelson, 52, of Hayti, Mo., died Tuesday, July 30, 2002, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
Born April 30, 1950, at Walnut Corner, Ark., he was a son of Virginia Brown of Jonesboro, Ark. and the late Henry Ford Nelson.
On Aug. 24, 1989, in Blytheville, Ark., he married
Debbie Tyler, who survives.
Other survivors include three daughters, Tricia Crisher and her husband, Mike, of Jonesboro, Shelly Jarrett and Gina Hatch, both of Hayti; three sons, R.J. Nelson of Hayti, Richard Morgan of Risco, Mo. and Greg Morgan of Benton, Mo.; four sisters, Hester Pipes, Ruth Ann McKee and Beverly Thomas all of Jonesboro and Regina Freeman of Bono, Ark.; one brother, Henry Ray Nelson of St. Joseph, Mo.; and nine grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. today, Thursday, Aug. 2, at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti, with the Rev. John Keel officiating.
Burial was in the Lorado cemetery at Lorado, Ark.
Pallbearers were Bobby Alexander, Willie Durbin, Jerry Todd, Randy Tyler, Steven Todd and Keith Hamm.

Olan Langston
Olan Richard Langston, 81, of Vinita Park, Mo., died Monday, July 29, 2002, at his residence.
Born Dec. 26, 1920, in Clarkton, Mo., a son of Everett Washington and Frances Elizabeth Hodge Langston, he was a retired welder and member of West Side General Baptist Church in St. Ann, Mo. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II, was a survivor of the USS Lexington and a member of the Thoman-Boothe American Legion Post 338.
On June 22, 1942, he married
Nellie Evelyn Maddox, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include a daughter, Joyce Stanfill and her husband, Ralph, of Geneseo, Ill.; two sisters, Audrey Stroud of Arnold, Mo., and Virgie (unknown) of St. James, Mo; one brother, Raymond Langston and his wife, Ruth, of Energy, Ill.; two grandchildren, Michael Stanfill of Chesterfield, Mo. and Alan Stanfill of St. Charles, Mo.; two great-grandchildren Graham Stanfill and Paige Stanfill.
He was preceded in death by a son, Stanley Richard Langston and five brothers and sisters.
There will be no visitation.
Funeral services are 4 p.m. Thursday, August 1, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Campbell, Mo. with the Revs. James Hamlett and Roy Stanfill officiating.
Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery at Campbell.
Roy Magers
Roy Gilbert Magers, 76, of Risco, Mo., died Sunday, July 28, 2002, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
Born June 20, 1926, in Hayward, Mo., son of the late Roy A. and Rose Keener Magers, he served with the U.S. Navy in World War II and in the U.S. Army in the Korean War. He was of the Southern Baptist faith.
On Aug. 20, 1976, in Parma, Mo., he married
Agnes Pauline LaFerny Pardon, who survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Roy Gilbert Magers, Jr. of Gideon, Mo. and Robert Joe Magers of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; two step-sons, James Pardon of Gideon and Carl Wayne Pardon of Portageville, Mo.; two step-daughters, Paula Fenn of Milford, Mich. and Vicky Douglas of Risco; one sister, Mary Ellen Pardon of Shreveport, La. and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, July 31, in the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gene Lancaster officiating.
Burial, with military rites, was in the Portageville cemetery at Portageville.
Lee Sullivan
Jennie Lee Sullivan, 71, of St. Louis and formerly of Gideon, Mo., died Monday, July 29, 2002, at her residence . Born July 18, 1931, in Braggadocio, Mo., a daughter of the late Gilbert and Jennie Smedley Lowry, she attended the Church of Christ.
On Oct. 9, 1948, in Piggott, Ark., she married
D.G. Sullivan who preceded her in death Nov. 30, 1974. She was also preceded in death by a son, Larry Dale Sullivan, a brother, Billy Lowry and a sister, Audie Lowry.
Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn Elaine Dinning of Benton, Ky., two sons, David Wayne Sullivan and Steven Ray Sullivan, both of St. Louis; two brothers, William Lowry of Caruthersville, Mo. and Wilbert Lowry of St. Louis; two sisters, Sylvia Harmon of Mountain Home, Ark. and Brenda Henson of Benton; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation is 6 p.m. today, Wednesday, July 31, at Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Malden.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 1, at Bradshaw Funeral Chapel with David McElwain officiating.
Burial will be in Stanfield cemetery at Clarkton.
