Pearline Craion
Funeral services for 69-year-old Pearline Craion of Hayti, Mo., will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, 2001, in the Church of God in Christ in Hayti with Elder Nathaniel Ellis officiating.
Burial will follow in the Evergreen cemetery at Hayti.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, at the John W. German Funeral Home in Hayti.
Burlos Floyd
Burlos A. Floyd, 85, of Doniphan, Mo., formerly of Caruthersville, Mo., died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2001, at the Current River Nursing Facility in Doniphan.
Born July 26, 1916, in Corinth, Miss., son of the late William J. and Minnie Moroney Floyd, he was employed by Taylor Sand and Gravel for 40 years and helped get the company started and was of the Baptist faith.
On Nov. 25, 1967, in Caruthersville, he married
Mildred Brodie, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include one son, Larry W. Floyd, of Sikeston, Mo.; one daughter, Reba Morgan, of Dexter, Mo.; one step-daughter, Paulette McClendon, of Caruthersville; three brothers, Earl Floyd, of Steele, Mo., Tom Floyd, of Kansas City, Mo. and Robert Floyd, of Maryville, Ill.; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Calvin and Pete Floyd.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 17, at the H.S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Troy Alley officiating.
Burial was in the Little Prairie cemetery in Caruthersville.
Pallbearers were Rondall and Don Morgan, Jamie Floyd, Zack Davis, Charles Brodie and Glen Davis.
Jimmie Medlin-Gann
Jimmie Rose Medlin-Gann, 69, of Denton, Texas, formerly of Caruthersville, Mo., died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2001, at her residence.
Born June 14, 1932, in Caruthersville, daughter of the late Jimmie and Mary Jewell Medlin, she worked as a bookkeeper. She was one of the pioneering staff members of the Crossroads Community Center (now the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center), worked with the Dallas Police Department, the Dallas City Auditor's office and worked with the Denton Crisis Center.
Survivors include two sons, Carl Duane Clark, of Athens, Ga. and Charles "Chuck" Edwin Gann II, of Shady Shores, Texas; one daughter, Cynthia Diane Day, of Caruthersville; one aunt, Doris Cowen; two sisters, Ernestine Morgan and Shirley Hemmenway; three brothers, Lynn, Michael and Danny Medlin; six grandchildren, Sonny and Christine Clark, Brian and Nicholas Day and John and Jeremy Clark and three great-grandchildren, Cody Day and Lauren and Thomas Clark.
Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 17, 2001, at the H.S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Caruthersville with the Rev. Kenny Lee officiating.
Lois Grissom
Lois Grissom, 94, of Steele, Mo., died Monday, Dec. 17, 2001, at his residence.
Born Nov. 8, 1907, in Tennessee, son of the late Ambrose and Della Newman Grissom, he was a farmer and of the Baptist faith.
He married
Gollie Austin, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include four sons, Bobby G. Grissom, of Gideon, Mo., Norris Ray Grisssom, of Benton, Ky. and Larry and Jerry Grissom, both of Steele; two brothers, Carmon Grissom, of Ohio and Jack Grissom, of Henderson County, Tenn.; three sisters Gail Ross and O'Nell Hays, both of Henderson County and Heber Wesley, of Louisville, Ky.; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, Dec. 19, at the Pafford Funeral Home in Lexington, Tenn. with the Rev. John Earl Dunavant officiating.
Burial was in the Mt. Moriah cemetery at Lexington.
Bradshaw Funeral Home of Steele was in charge of visitation services.
Irene Hampton
Irene Boone Hampton, 98, of Kennett, formerly of Paragould, Ark., died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001, at National HealthCare in Kennett.
She was born June 6, 1903, in Hoxie, Ark.
She married
Roy Hampton, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one son, Charles Boone.
Survivors include two sons, James Boone, of Kennett and Marshall Boone, of Tallassee, Ala.; one daughter, Mary L. Whitaker, of Perryville, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Wednesday, Dec. 19, at the Mitchell Funeral Home in Paragould.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, at the Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow at the Greene County Memorial Gardens cemetery.
Mary Hogeland
Mary Ruth Hogeland, 60, of Malden, Mo., died Friday, Dec. 14, 2001, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter, Mo.
Born March 24, 1941, in Dudley, Mo., daughter of the late Marvin and Genevieve Laramore Eagan, she was a member of the Second Southern Baptist Church in Malden.
On Oct. 14, 1983, in Malden, she married
Harold Hogeland, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include one son, Darian Hogeland, of Malden; one step-son, Wayne Hogeland, of Houston, Texas; one daughter, Deanna Eagan, of Malden; two sisters, Joyce Trammell, of Tallapoosa, Mo. and Sharon Eagan, of Sikeston, Mo. and three step-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one sister, Martha Eagan.
Visitation will be held at 6 p.m. today, Dec. 19, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Paul Starnes and Roger Fowler officiating.
Burial will follow at the Elder cemetery in Campbell, Mo.
Oberlon Isbell
Oberlon Isbell, 90, of Campbell, Mo., died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.

Gary Medlin, 42, of Campbell, Mo., formerly, of Malden, Mo., died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001, at his residence.

Virginia Paul
Virginia Gayle Walker Tucker Paul, 66, of Hemet, Calif., formerly of Hornersville, Mo., died Friday, Nov. 30, 2001, at Hemet Valley Medical Center.
Born in Lake City, Ark., she was a homemaker and also worked for the records office at Hemet Valley Medical Center.
In 1953, in Hornersville, she married
James Monroe Tucker, who preceded her in death. She later married
Perry Paul, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include two daughters, Lynn Shipman and Patricia Houck, both of Utah; three step-daughters, Diane, of Pennsylvania, Susan, of Fountain Valley and Carla, of Riverside; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Annell Rogers, of Arkansas and a nephew, John Rogers, of Arkansas.
Graveside services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, at the San Jacinto Valley cemetery.
Harford Funeral Home of Hemet was in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer society or a charity of the donor's choice.

Ella Usrey, 85, of Kennett, died Monday, Dec. 17, 2001, at Natonal HealthCare in Kennett.
Visitation will be held at 6 p.m. today, Wednesday, Dec. 19, at the First United Pentecostal Church in Kennett.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, at the First United Pentecostal Church with Revs. Carroll and Eric McGruder and Stephen Reed officiating.

Wit Ethridge
Wit Daniel Ethridge, 85, of Kennett, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2001, at National HealthCare in Kennett.
Born Sept. 28, 1916, in Henderson, Tenn., he was the son of the late Ben and Lillie Creasy Ethridge.
He married
Mae Clark, who preceded him in death on Sept. 2, 1990.
Survivors include one brother, Lon Ethridge, of Phoenix, Ariz. and one sister, Betty Nelson, of Kennett.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 17, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Chuck Hardy and Allen Ethridge officiating.
Burial was in the Memorial Gardens cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers were Harold, Fred, Ray and Alex Ethridge, Steve Anglin and Dennis Nelson.
Kathyrine Griffin
Kathyrine Griffin, 85, of St. Louis, Mo., formerly of Arbyrd, Mo., died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2001, at St. Louis.
Born March 28, 1916, in Arbyrd, Mo., she was the daughter of the late William "Bill" and Alice Hayes Proffer.
On March 28, 1937, in Kennett, she married
Gean Griffin, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by 12 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include two sons, Mike Griffin and wife, Laura, of St. Louis and Gean Griffin and wife, Mary Ann, of Godfrey, Ill.; one daughter, Diane Brewer and husband, Glenn, of Pryor, Okla.; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, at the Arbyrd Baptist Church with the Rev. Alan Cureton officiating.
Burial was in the Lulu cemetery.
