Jim Bruce
Jim Bruce, 88, of Senath, Mo., died Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002, at the Veterans Hospital in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Friday, Aug. 16, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bud Evans officiating.
Burial will follow at the Oak Ridge cemetery in Kennett.
Willie Cole
Willie Bonnie Cole, 97, of Campbell, Mo., died Monday, Aug. 5, 2002, at the General Baptist Nursing Home in Campbell.
Born March 10, 1905, in Peters Landing, Tenn., daughter of the late William Franklin and Mary Elizabeth Kelley Ham, she was a homemaker and a member of the Friendship Baptist Church in Friendship, Mo.
On May 22, 1957, she married
Francis Lee Cole, who preceded her in death on Feb. 8, 1963.
Survivors include one nephew, Johnny Culp, of Malden, Mo. and two nieces, Irene Clement and Myrtle Lois Bain, both of Savannah, Tenn.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, at the Friendship Baptist Church with the Rev. Dale Rickman officiating.
Burial will follow at the Oak Ridge cemetery in Kennett.

Ronnie Crafton, 56, of Bragg City, Mo., died Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002, at the Baptist East Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

Iva Farris, 93, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., died today, Friday, Aug. 16, 2002, at Westwood Hills Health Care Center in Poplar Bluff.

Buell Hyde
Buell W. Hyde, 60, of Malden, Mo., died Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002, at his residence.

Thelbert Maddox
Thelbert Leo "PeeWee" Maddox, 59, of Malden, Mo., died Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2002, at John J. Pershing VA Hospital in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
Born April 18, 1943, in Parma, Mo., son of the late Olen L. and Marlue Stockton Maddox, he was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Vietnam, a member of the American Legion and VFW in Malden and of the Nazerene faith.
Survivors include one brother, Delbert Maddox and wife, Barbara, of Malden; one niece, Kami Manuel, of Dexter, Mo.; one nephew, Stephen Maddox, of Malden and one great-niece, Ashley Manuel, of Dexter.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. today, Friday, Aug. 16, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Andrew Lovins officiating.
Burial with military rites will follow at the Memorial Park cemetery in Malden.
Jimmy Nipper
Jimmy Nipper, 41, of Cardwell, Mo., died Monday, Aug. 12, 2002, in Jonesboro, Ark.
Born Oct. 8, 1960, in Sayre, Pa., son of Jimmy Lee Nipper, of Pine Bluff, Ark. and Helen Brown Trowbridge, of Jonesboro, he was a U.S. Navy veteran.
On June 13, 1987, in Beach Grove, Ark., he married
Darlene Denton, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include three sons, Christopher and Matthew Nipper, of Cardwell and Jamie Nipper, of Arbyrd, Mo.; one daughter, Katelyn Nipper, of Cardwell; one brother, Johnny Nipper, of Mt. Julett, Tenn.; two step-brothers, Wayne and Marlon Trowbridge; four sisters, Marcia Roth, of San Antonio, Texas, Jenny Blair, of Mt. Julett, Peggy Zolman, of Arbyrd and Kerry Edwards, of Charlotte, N.C. and one step-sister, Elizabeth Hurt.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. today, Friday, Aug. 16, at the Trinity Community Church in Cardwell with the Rev. Kevin Knox officiating.
Burial was in the Cardwell cemetery.
Pallbearers were Randy Hedge, Marlon Trowbridge, Johnny Zolman, Tommy Mitchell, George Denton and Charlie Walker.
McDaniel Funeral Home of Arbyrd was in charge of arrangements.
John Pulliam
John W. Pulliam, 51, of Blytheville, Ark., formerly of Kennett, died Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2002, in an automobile accident near Poplar Bluff, Mo.
Born at Deering, Mo., son of Willie Mae Brown Pulliam, of Kennett and the late John Willie Pulliam, he started Pulliam's Construction and Excavating Co. in 1980.
In December of 2000, he married
Shirley Campbell Scott, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include four daughters, Faith Pulliam, of Jefferson City, Mo., Geraine Willoughby, of St. Louis, Mo., Crystal Fugate, of Caruthersville, Mo. and Paula Renee White, of Malden, Mo.; one step-son, Rufus Scott, of Blytheville; five sisters, Mildred Whitehorn and husband, Earl, Henrietta Wright, Hester Ellis and husband, Nathaniel, Luetta Wright and husband, Theodore and Lillie Blackman and husband, Eddie, all of Kennett; six brothers, Robert Pulliam and wife, Evelyn, of Kennett, Lawrence Pulliam and wife, Angela and Dennis Pulliam and wife, Brenda, all of Jacksonville, Fla., Jimmy L. Pulliam, of Dixon, Tenn., Ronnie Pulliam and wife, Karen, of Indianapolis, Ind. and Peter Pulliam and wife Rita, of Kansas City, Mo. and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Howard and Hester Pulliam; maternal grandparents, Willie and Lillie Brown and a son, John Willie Pulliam III, who died in the accident with him.
Visitation will be from 12 noon to 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, at the Victory Temple Church of God in Christ in Kennett.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, at the Victory Temple Church of God in Christ with Elders Elisha Pullen and Nathaniel Ellis officiating.
Burial will follow at the Memorial Gardens cemetery in Kennett.

Jim Bruce
Jim Bruce, 88, of Senath, Mo., died Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002, at John J. Pershing Veterans Administration Hospital in Poplar Bluff.
Born Sept. 23, 1913, at Marmaduke, Ark., he was a son of the late John and Sarah Jane Morgan Bruce.
In 1941 at Caruthersville, Mo. he married
Anna Martin who preceded him in death in 1969. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Barney, Joe and Leo Bruce and two sisters, Aquilla Brewer and Betty Lorene Hughes.
Survivors include a son, Jim R. Bruce and his wife, Kathy, of Kennett; a daughter, Janie Goodwin and her husband, Terry, of Kennett; a brother, C.J. Bruce of Paragould, Ark.; three grandchildren Claire and Jessica Bruce and Nichole Goodwin Tice and a great-grandson, Corbin Tice.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, at McDaniel Funeral Service Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. Bud Evans officiating.
Burial was in Oak Ridge cemetery in Kennett.
Pallbearers were Donnie Bruce, Wayne Bruce, Jamie Bruce, Jimmy Bruce, Bill Anderson and Charles Palmer.
Honorary pallbearer was Sylvester Hutson.

Clois Wan Butler, 87, of Rector, Ark., died Friday, August 16, 2002 at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould, Ark.
Visitation will be 3:30 p.m. today, Sunday, August 18, at Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel in Rector.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. Monday, August 19, at Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel with Bros. James Henry Dortch and Edwin Teasley officiating.

Loy Dell Downing
Loy Dell Downing, 78, of Bragg City, Mo., died Saturday, Aug. 17, 2002 at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark.

Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, at First Baptist Church in Bragg City.
Iva Farris
Iva Viola Farris, 93, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., died Friday, Aug. 16, 2002, at Poplar Bluff.
Born Tuesday, June 1, 1909, in Patrick, Ark., a daughter of the late Brent and Cynthia Stufflebean Deaton, she was a homemaker.
She married
Wallace Farris who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two sons, John D. Farris and Holly Farris and one daughter, Susie Tucker.
Survivors include two sons, Richard Farris of Ellsinore, Mo. and Wallace Lee Farris of Imperial, Mo.; five daughters, Marie Brown of Granite City, Ill., Juanita Kent of Wellsville, Mo., Sylvia Meese of Clarkton, Mo., Suedell Talley of Poplar Bluff and Kathy Walker of Ellsinore; a step-brother, Garland Deaton of Steele, Mo.; 32 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, at the Bradshaw-Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Steele with the Rev. Jeremy Damesworth officiating.
Burial was in Mt. Zion cemetery at Steele.
