Kenneth Dunigan
Kenneth Harold Dunigan, 65, of Cardwell, Mo., died Saturday, Aug. 17, 2002, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark.
Born Feb. 16, 1937, in Cardwell, he was the son of the late Claude and Margaret Carter Dunigan.
Survivors include two sons, Kenny Dunigan, of Cardwell and David Dunigan, of Newbern, Tenn.; two daughters, Margaret Gwaltney, of Halls, Tenn. and Mary Tate, of Cardwell; one brother, Jerry Sifford, of Molalla, Ore. and one sister, Peggy Stout, of Ridgely, Tenn.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Leland Dunigan.
Garveside services were held at 2 p.m. today, Tuesday, Aug. 20, at the Cardwell cemetery with the Rev. Kevin Knox officiating.
Pallbearers were Curtis McClish, Earnest and Alvin Johnson, Randy Dunigan, Odell Hopper and Bill Aldridge.
McDaniel Funeral Home of Senath, Mo. was in charge of arrangements.
Patricia Holt
Patricia "Patty" Anne Holt, 53, of Hartford City, Ind., died Sunday, Aug. 18, 2002, at St. Vincent Hospice Center in Indianapolis, Ind.
Born March 1, 1949, in Hartford City, daughter of William A. Meredith, Sr., of Golden Valley, Ariz. and Mary Wilson McConey, of Hartford City, she was a homemaker and a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Peachtree City, Ga.
On April 24, 1970, in Hartford City, she married
C.S. "Charlie" Holt, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include one daughter, Meredith Anne Townsend and husband, Bradley D., of Peachtree City, Ga.; one son David "Todd" Holt and wife, Mealnie, of Indianapolis; two grandchildren, Tyler James and Jacob Daniel Holt; step-father, Don McConey, of Hartford City; step-mother, Jan Meredith, of Golden Valley; one sister, Pamela Clark and husband, Earl, of Hartford City; one brother, William A. Meredith, Jr. and wife, Rena, of Hartford City and one step-sister, Pam A. McConey, of Cicero, Ind.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21at Keplinger Funeral Home in Hartford City. There will be a wake service at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Visitation will also be from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, at the St. John's Catholic Church in Hartford City.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, at the St. John's Catholic Church with Father Robert Moran officiating.
Burial will follow at the Hartford City cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Kyle and Adam Meredith, Andy Campbell, Brett Mahan, Bradley Townsend and Todd Holt.

Buell Hyde
Buell W. Hyde, 59, of Malden, Mo., died Thursday, Aug. 16, 2002, at his residence.
Born Dec. 17, 1942, in Hornersville, Mo., son of the late Arley Buster and Rennie Edna Hyde, he was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Vietnam and a member of the American Legion at Malden.
On Dec. 17, 1988, in Holcomb, Mo., he married
Carolyn Dye, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include two daughters, Lisa Huffman, of Blytheville, Ark. and Paula James, of Rector, Ark.; one step-daughter, Deborah Hodge, of Unicoi, Tenn.; one step-son, Scott Shelton, of Farmington, Mo.; five brothers, David A. Hyde, of Paragould, Ark. and Lonnie E., Jerry E., Glen L. and Ricky C. Hyde, all of Kennett; two sisters, Barbara A. and Nancy A. Peace, both of Kennett and 10 grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, at the Memorial Gardens cemetery in Kennett with the Rev. Kevin Edgar officiating.
Pallbearers were members of the American Legion of Malden.
McDaniel Funeral Home of Kennett was in charge of arrangements.
Mattie Joyner
Mattie Lee Joyner, 79, of Kennett, died Saturday, Aug. 17, 2002, at the Senath Nursing Center in Senath, Mo.
Born April 22, 1923, in Conway, Ark., she was the daughter of the late Frank and Rosie Mae Griggs Barnes.
On Sept. 11, 1942, in Dunklin County, Mo., she married
J.C. Joyner, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include three sons, Larry Joyner, and wife, Brenda, of Chesterfield, Mo., Stacey Joyner and wife, Erma, of Kennett and Daniel Joyner and wife, Nancy, of Wildwood, Mo.; two daughters, Brenda Frounfelker, of West Memphis, Ark. and Ladonna Garner and husband, Barry, of Kennett; one brother, Farnkie Ray Barnes, of Vinton, La.; one sister, Dovie Mae Cradduck, of Campbell, Mo.; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, J.B. Barnes.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with the Revs. Gale Lambert, Charles James and Jerry Williams officiating.
Burial was in the Memorial Gardens cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers were Mark Crawford, Lindon Tate, Jerry Crain, Paul Kennedy, Gary Gurley and Don Caldwell.
Melvin McCormick
Melvin Charles McCormick, 71, of Irving Texas, formerly of Kennett, died Monday, Aug. 19, 2002, at Irving.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will folow at the Oak Ridge cemetery in Kennett.
John Randolph
John D. Randolph, 73, of Jackson, Tenn., formerly of Hayti, Mo., died Thursday, Aug. 8, 2002, at Methodist Healthcare University in Memphis, Tenn.
Born Oct. 8, 1928, in Hayti, son of the late George Dewey and Lorene Williams Randolph, he was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean War. He retired from Federal Compress and Federal Express.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Randolph; one daughter, Debbie Williams and husband, Danny, of Jackson, Tenn.; one son, Ron Randolph and wife, Linda, of Orlando, Fla.; two step-daughters, Gina Barnett, of Missouri and Terri Burns, of Houston, Texas; one sister, Billy Jean McCrary, of Hayti; four grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 10, at the George Smith and Sons Funeral Home in Jackson.
Burial with military honors were held at the Highland Memorial cemetery in Jackson.
Pallbearers were Larry Fleming, Gene Williams Fisher, Jesse Starr, Robert Jones, Roy Brannon and Walter McBroom.
Mitchell Wooden
Mitchell Wooden, 56, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Thursday, Aug. 8, 2002.
Born Nov. 23, 1945, in Charleston, Mo., son of Dorothy and Henry Wooden, of Gary, Ind., he was a preacher, a trainer for in the STARS Program for foster and adoptive parents, member of Concerned Parents of Caruthersville and a board member of Missouri Delta Economic Ministries. He was pastor of Gospel Temple Holy Trinity Church of Deliverance, serving as State Evangelistic Board Chairman, State Finance committee member and Program Committee leader.
On June 26, 1966, he married
Louberta Denkins, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include four sons, Frank Flowers and wife, Deb, of Landover, Md., Mitchell Wooden, Jr., of Lexington, Ky, Tony Wooden and Desean Flowers, both of Caruthersville; eleven daughters, Tina, Charlotte and Quentasia Wooden, Kiara Flowers and Paris Wyche, all of Caruthersville, Perllean Turner and husband, Robert, of Kennett, Odessia Wooden, of Tulsa, Okla., Dorothy Wooden, of Garland, Texas, Ophelia Johnson and husband, Dewayne, of Perryville, Mo., Peggy Wooden, of Sikeston, Mo. and Christina King and husband, Kenneth, of Columbia, Mo.; four sisters, Peggy Curtis and Rachel Collins and husband, Pastor, both of Gary, Recshelle Wooden, of Chicago, Ill. and Ophelia Taylor and husband, Sam, of Norman, Okla.; six brothers, Fred Wooden, of Gary, David Wooden and wife, Clara, of Anchorage, Alaska, Henry Wooden, Jr., of Kansas City, Mo., Ronnie, Tyrone and Richard Wooden, all of Rockford, Ill.; 29 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, La'Fell Oliver.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Eugene Wooden.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, at the Pentecostal Power New Life Deliverance Temple in Caruthersville with Bishop James Whitfield officiating.
Burial was in the Morgan Ridge cemetery at Caruthersville.
Pallbearers were Frank Flowers, Arthur Mack Robinson, Joe Willie Denkins, James Love, Johnny Green and Kenneth King.
Honorary pallbearers were Mitchell Wooden, Jr., Dewayne Johnson and Elvis Farmer.

Loy Dell Downing
Loy Dell Downing, 78, of Bragg City, Mo., died Saturday, Aug. 17, 2002, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark.
Born May 21, 1924, in Antoine, Ark., daughter of the late Loyd Elmer and Georgia E. Dyer Golden, she was a postmaster in Bragg City and a member of the First Baptist Church in Bragg City.
On Jan. 23, 1943, she married
John V. Downing, who preceded her in death on Feb. 5, 1984. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Billie Joe Golden and three sisters, Evelyn LeBlanc, Dorothy Hooper and Verna Newton.
Survivors include one son, John Michael Downing, of Jefferson City, Mo.; two daughters, Patti Duncan and Becky Ivie, both of Bragg City; one brother, Mac Golden, of Steele, Mo.; two sisters, Ida Ditto, of Spring, Texas and Eunice Phillips, of Lubbock, Texas and four grandchildren, Shane and Joey Duncan, of Bragg City and Christopher and Emily Downing, of Jefferson City.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, at the Bragg City First Baptist Church with the Revs. O.H. Brooks and Dale Rickman officiating.
Burial was in the Memorial Gardens cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers were Shane and Joey Duncan, Christopher and Don Downing, Brett Burton and Tony Chailland.

Melvin McCormick
Melvin Charles McCormick, 71, of Irving, Texas, formerly of Kennett, died Monday, Aug. 19, 2002, at Irving.
Born Jan. 22, 1931, in Kennett, he was the son of the late John and Bessie Stevens McCormick.
On June 27, 1953, he married
Betty Harris, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include one son, Steven McCormick, of Lake Dallas, Texas; one daughter, Sharon Myers, of Euless, Texas; one sister, Pauline Farmer Meadows, of Kennett; five grandchildren; one aunt, Myrtle McCormick, of Kennett and one cousin, Pokey McCormick, of Kennett.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Donald McCormick and one sister, Oline Rodden.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. today, Thursday, Aug. 22, 2002, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. Dale Rickman officiating.
Burial was in the Oak Ridge cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers were Larry, Jerry and Josh Earl, Matt Rodden, Douglas Myers and Larry Farmer.
Marie Sanders
Marie Sanders, 90, of Campbell, Mo., died Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2002, at Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott, Ark.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete with the Landess Funeral Home of Campbell.
