Norma Jean Hayden, 59, of Whiteville, Tenn., died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2003, at the Bolivar General Hospital in Bolivar, Tenn.
Born March 27, 1944, in Devener, Mo., daughter of the late William and Iva May McKinney Hayden, she was a truck driver and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include one daughter, Lavonda Brown and husband, Greg, of Hayti, Mo.; one son, Kenneth Turner and wife, Carol, of Campbell, Mo.; three sisters, Shirley Penny, of Springfield, Mo., Linda Mangus, of St. Peters, Mo. and Donna Hayden, of Fenton, Mo. four brothers, William Hayden, of Vilas, N.C., James Hayden, Willaby, Ohio, Roy Hayden, of Campbell and Hershel Hayden, of Ft. Walton, Beach, Fla.; three grandchildren, Nicole Turner, of Moore, Okla. and Michael and Stephanie Turner, both of Shawnee, Kan. and one great-grandchild, Ezra Matney, of Moore.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Virgil Hayden.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. today, Thursday, Nov. 20, at the Bradhsaw Funeral Home Chapel in Malden, Mo. with the Rev. Bryan Johnson officiating.
Burial was in the Woodlawn cemetery at Campbell.
James Riddle

James Riddle, 74, of Holcomb, Mo., died Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003, at his residence.
Born Feb. 1, 1929, in Holcomb, son of the late Elmer and Iza Smith Riddle, he was a farm laborer, served on the Holcomb Township board and was a member of the Asembly of God Church in Holcomb.
On Nov. 5, 1949, he married
Betty Taylor, who survives.
Survivors also include two sons, Jimmy Riddle, of Wappapello, Mo. and Jeff Riddle and wife, Debbie, of Dexter, Mo.; one daughter, Brenda Troutt, of Holcomb; six grandchildren, Cindy Sutton and Tara Wilson, both of Kennett, Brad Riddle, of St. Francis, Ark., Cody Troutt, of Holcomb, Clayton Riddle, of Dexter and Nicholas Sutton, of McDougal, Ark. and three great-grandchildren, Leah Brock and Myca Sutton, both of Kennett and Caleb Riddle, of St. Francis.
He was preceded in death by one son, Billy Riddle; one brother, Jarrell Riddle and one sister, Shelby Riddle.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Friday, Nov. 21, at the Landess Funeral Home in Campbell.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Howard Kirby officiating.
Burial will follow at the Loyd cemetery in Campbell.

Shirley Jean Hurst, 64, of Senath, Mo., died Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003, at St. Luke's Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.
Born July 15, 1939, in Senath, she was a daughter of Christine Baynes Pickens of Senath and the late Walter "Bill" Pickens.
Other survivors include two sons, Larry Wayne Hurst and wife, Carmen, of Senath and Glenn David Hurst and wife, Somer, of Kennett; one daughter, Joanna Sue Hurst of St. Louis; one brother, Jerald Pickens of Kennett; four sisters, Pat Wilson of Kennett, Vernetta Nelson of Port Orange, Fla., Jo Ann Pickens of Memphis, Tenn. and Brenda Newman of Senath; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sherry Lynn Hurst, a brother, Donald Ray Pickens and one sister, Reeda Pickens Lumsden.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. today, Sunday, Nov. 23, at McDaniel Funeral Service Chapel in Senath with the Rev. Wayland Tom officiating.
Burial will be in Memorial Gardens cemetery in Kennett.

Norma May DeMay, 85, of Campbell, Mo., died Friday, Nov. 21, 2003, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
Born Feb. 15, 1918, at Cushman, Ark., a daughter of the late Christopher Columbus and Lena Elizabeth Jordan Woodliff, she was a homemaker and member of Calvary Baptist Church in Campbell.
On Jan. 25, 1941, she married
George Raymond DeMay who preceded her in death Nov. 23, 2002. Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Everett Woodliff and Velvy "Woody" Woodliff, one sister, Beulah Tucker and three grandsons.
Surviving are three daughters, Juanita Barnes of Malden, Mo., Lois Barnes and husband, Larry, of Jonesboro, Ark., and Karen King and husband, Wayne, of Campbell; one son, Kenneth DeMay and wife, Brenda, of Campbell; 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are 3 p.m. today, Sunday, Nov.23, at Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Campbell with the Revs. Tony Wood and James Epp officiating.
Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery in Campbell.

Charles L. Brodie, 51, of Kennett, died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2003, at his home.
Born Sept. 26, 1952, in Steele, Mo., he was a son of the late James and Vanilla Hawthorn Brodie. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Deloise and Ben Brodie.
He is survived by his wife, Josephine Brodie; two daughters, Ernestine and Knoswala Brodie; seven stepchildren, Sylvester Artis, Jr., JoAnne Jackson, Odess Artis, Lewis Howard, Robert Simmons, Odell Simmons and Gerald Artis; two brothers, Andrew Brodie and wife, Earline, of Lansing, Mich. and Johnny Brodie of California; six sisters, Thelma Earl and husband, Jerry, Earnestine Sanders and Alice Brodie of Lansing, Jessie Cammon and Pearlie Pickings of Kennett, and Daisy Amerson and husband, Ralph, of Caruthersville, Mo.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, at Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with Ralph Amerson officiating.
Burial will be in Oak Ridge cemetery in Kennett.

Thelma Baldwin

Thelma I. Baldwin, 86, of Kennett, died Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark.
Born March 28, 1917, in Heber Springs, Ark., she was a daughter of the late Frank and Louise Bingham Smallwood.
She is survived by one son, William Wilkerson of KEnnett; two granddaughters, Lisa Campbell and Elizabeth Wilkerson of Kennett and two great-grandchildren, Ryan and Brienne Looney of Kennett.
Graveside services were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, at Memorial Gardens cemetery in Kennett with the Rev. Bill Fox officiating.
Pallbearers were William Wilkerson, Ryan Looney, Don Tomlinson and Jerry Mullinex.
McDaniel Funeral Service of Kennett was in charge of services.
Sylvester Smith

Sylvester H. Smith, 76, of Georgetown, Texas, formerly of Glennonville, Mo. and Fairview Heights, Ill., died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003, at Georgetown.
Born June 7, 1927, in Glennonville, son of the late Elmer George and Anna Mary Fuemmelar Smith, he was a U.S. Navy veteran, a member of the V.F.W. Post No. 8587 in Georgetown and a member of the Knights of Columbus No. 6453 He was a member of the St. Helen Catholic Church.
On Nov. 9, 1957, in Fairview Heights, he married
Mary Margaret Lett, who survives.
Survivors also include one daughter, Ann Marie Mihm and husband, Mark, of Dallas, Texas; one brother, Leonard Smith and wife, Doris, of Swannanoa, N.C.; two sisters, Dorothy Kettmann, of Kennett and Margaret Oakley and husband, Gene, of Reno, Nev. and two grandsons, Jackson and Spencer Mihm, both of Dallas.
He was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters, Floyd Teder, Mildred, Fredrick, Francis, Arnold and Bernard Smith, Hycianth Spaulding and Beatrice Boyd.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, at the St. Teresa's cemetery in Glennonville with Father Glenn Eftink officiating.
Landess Funeral home of Campbell is in charge of arrangements.

Ralph S. Shelton, 86, of Malden, Mo., died Monday, Nov. 24, 2003, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter, Mo.
Born Jan. 2, 1917, in Malden, son of the late John and Ola Roots Shelton, he was a farmer and attended the First General Baptist Church in Malden.
On May 21, 1937, in Malden, he married
Vivian Kitrel, who survives.
Survivors also include one son, Jerry Shelton and wife, Sally, of Las Vegas, Nev.; four brothers, Howard and Russell Shelton, both of Cape Girardeau, Mo., John Shelton, of Poplar Bluff, Mo. and David Shelton, of Dexter; three sisters, Ruby Kitrel, of Dexter, Agnes Blake, of Malden and Rosie Allen, of Aid, Mo.; two granddaughters, Debra VanWagner, of Gaithersburg, Md. and Jeri Lea Leddon, of Springfield, Va. and five great-grandchildren, Katie Lea, Justin Tyler and Rebecca Leddon and Svetiana and Eugenia VanWagner.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, Nov. 26, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Malden.
Burial was in the Memorial Park cemetery at Malden.

Frances Eloise Potts, 76, of Kennett, died Thursday, Nov. 27, 2003, at her residence.
Born May 19, 1927, in Hulbert, Ark., she was the daughter of the late Thomas LaFonzo and Nannie Lula Jones Brigance.
She married
Floyd Leroy Potts, Sr., who preceded her in death on Sept. 17, 2002. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Carl Brigance.
Survivors include two sons, Floyd Potts and Eric Potts, both of Kennett; one daughter Sharon Bliss, of Kennett; three brothers, Thomas Brigance, of Vale, Ore., Louis Brigance, of Richland, Mo.. and Ralph Brigance, of Oxford, Miss.; three sisters, Beulah Schlisser, of Mantica, Calif., Syble Ford, of Enid, Okla. and Shirley Pratt, of Lebanon, Mo.; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today, Friday, Nov. 28, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. Don Slatton officiating.
Burial was in the Oak Ridge cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers were Ralph and Louis Brigance, Guy Pratt, Jeremy and Stanley Potts and Joe Jordan.

David Long, 56, of Kennett, Mo., died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2003, at Three Rivers North Hospital in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
Born May 27, 1947, in Holcomb, Mo., he was the son of Dorothy Palmer Long and the late Virgil Long.
Survivors also include one brother, Barry Long, of Senath and three sisters, Kathy Reagan, of Paragould, Ark., Sherry Ary, of Porter, Texas and Shelia Mitchell, of Kennett.
A private memorial service will be held.
