Robert Younger

Robert F. Coleman Younger, 82, of Hamel, Ill., formerly of Malden, Mo., died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2002, at his residence.

Born Oct. 13, 1919, in Malden, son of the late Jasper N. and Eva V. Campbell Younger, he was U.S. Air Force veteran, serving in WWII, a machine operator for Granite City Steel and a member of the Lutheran Church in Hamel. He was a fast draw artist and was a winner of the National Fast Draw Championship.

In June 1946, in Indianapolis, Ind., he married Iris Juanita McMahan, who preceded him in death on April 27, 1991.

Survivors include two sons, Wayne Younger, of Collinsville, Ill. and Bob Younger, of Granite City, Ill.; one stepson, Lourin Davis, of Godfrey, Ill.; one sister, Ruby "Helen" Kincade, of Wood River, Ill.; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, John Thomas Younger and one sister, Marie Iris Cooper.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Malden.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor William J. MacGregor officiating.

Burial will follow at the Elder cemetery in Campbell, Mo.

Rickey Christian

Rickey Gardel Christian, 42, of Crawfordsville, Ind., died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2002, at St. Claires Hospital in Crawfordsville.

Born Jan. 22, 1959, in Washington D.C., son of Ted Christian, of Columbia, Mo. and Loreta Ann Christian, of Washington D.C., he was a U.S. Air Force veteran and worked for Nucor/Sheck Steel.

He married Shirley Knox, who survives of the home, formerly of Steele, Mo.

Survivors include two daughters, Nicki Christian, of Columbia and Tashawna Christian, of Lansing, Ill.; one son, Rickey Christian, Jr., of Columbia; two brothers, Louis Christian, of Washington D.C. and Kevin Christian, of Columbia and one sister, Helen Christian, of Washington D.C.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Steele.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Larry C. Bell officiating.

Burial will follow at the Morning Star cemetery in Steele.

Junior Crisel

Junior Crisel, 75, of Kennett, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2002, at the Baptist Hospital in Union City, Tenn.

Funeral services are incomplete with the McDaniel Funeral Home of Kennett.

Bertha Crumley

Bertha Louise Crumley, 87, of Doniphan, Mo., formerly of Wardell, Mo., died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2002, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark.

Born Oct. 15, 1914, in Wavley, Tenn., daughter of the late James Tom and Emma Welch Ashley, she was a homemaker.

She married James Dallas Crumley, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Alene Jones and two brothers, Clayton and James Ashley.

Survivors include one son, James Crumley, of Doniphan; three daughters, Margie Ann Dunlap, of Doniphan, Martha Lou Prince, of Bakersville, Calif. and Glenda Kay Dunlap, of Evansville, Ind.; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and five grandchildren.

Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. today, Friday, Jan. 25, at the Bradshaw-Osburn Funeral Home in Hayti, Mo.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at the Bradshaw-Osburn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. William Quillen officiating.

Burial will follow at the Woodlawn cemetery in Hayti.

Pallbearers are Jeffery Crumley, Mart Dunlap, Jr., Kevin, Brandon and Shane Dunlap and Kenneth Kearbey.

Sarah Lewis

Sarah Jane Lewis, 69, of Cardwell, Mo., died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2002, at the Arkansas Methodist Hospital in Paragould, Ark.

Born March 20, 1932, in Desha, Ark., she was the daughter of the late Sherman and Ida Pearl Farrell Duty.

On Nov. 26, 1949, in Piggott, Ark., she married Dalton Lewis, who survives of the home.

Survivors also include two daughters, Judy Smith and husband, Jerry and Terri Watkins and husband, Rick, all of Cardwell; four brothers, Don, Jerry, Roger and Robert Duty; two sisters, Dorothy Lewis and Vondean Swink; four grandchildren, Brian and Ryan Smith, Shelly Benson and Ricky Watkins and two great-grandchildren, Destiny Watkins and Gracyn Smith.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Sherman Duty.

Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. today, Friday, Jan. 25, at the Cardwell cemetery with the Rev. Kenneth Hargraves officiating.

McDaniel Funeral Home of Senath, Mo. was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the Cardwell cemetery Road Fund.

William Lincoln

William Henry Lincoln, 88, of Senath, Mo., died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2002, at the Senath Nursing Home.

Born Sept. 17, 1913, in Arbyrd, Mo., son of the late William David and Jossephine Abernathy Lincoln, he was a farmer and attended the Arbyrd Baptist Church in Arbyrd.

He married Nola Imogene Bohannon, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by two sons, Larry Joe and Jerry Don Lincoln; two brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include one daughter, Annette Petty, of Arbyrd; three sisters, Mary Crump, of Fisk, Mo., Goldie Thompson, of Senath and Bernita Davenport, of Millsville, Mo.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one step-grandchild and one step-great-grandchild.

Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. today, Friday, Jan. 25, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Kennett.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Alan Cureton officiating.

Burial will follow at the Memorial Gardens cemetery in Kennett.

Pallbearers are Joe Don Thompson, Ryan Bateman, Larry Petty, Neal Smith, Don West and Kenneth Sikes.

Honorary pallbearers are Joe Thompson, George Allison, Lando Moore, Welton Huggins and Elmer West.

James Rogers

James Dalton Rogers, 80, of Hayti, Mo., died Monday, Jan. 21, 2002 in Memphis, Tenn.

Born Nov. 10, 1921, in Star City, Ark., son of the late Elmer and Reba Ollar Rogers, he was a retired educator in the Hayti school system and a member of the First Baptist Church in Hayti.

On Sept. 13, 1946, he married Elsie Tarpley, who survives of the home. Survivors also include one daughter, Sue Zann Norris and husband, Bob, of Greenville, S.C.; one granddaughter, Christie Williams, of Birmingham, Ala; one grandson, Robert Norris, of Greenville; three brothers, Parnell Rogers, of Danville, Ill., Carroll Rogers, of Waterford, Mich., and Rudolph Rogers, of Burnsville, Miss. and one sister, Lois Bledsoe, of Collierville, Tenn.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, at the First Baptist Church in Hayti with the Revs. Dennis Rogers and Mike Melton officiating.

Burial was in the Woodlawn cemetery at Hayti.

Pallberarers were Rayburn Whitener, Bob Inman, Richard Kohn, Butch Mitchell, Robert Plunk and Maurice Camp.

Honorary pallbearers were Bob Simmons, Noah Barkovitz, Mike Curtis, Allan Taylor and Ralph Ball.

John W. German Funeral Home of Hayti was in charge of arrangements.

Clyde White

Clyde White, 81, of Kennett, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2002, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.

Born March 1, 1920, in Florence, Ala., he was the son of the late Demsey Dave and Ida Young White.

On Sept. 24, 1942, he married Beatrice Emmons, who preceded him in death on Aug. 1, 1991. He was also preceded in death by one son, Jimmy Don White; one step-daughter, Jean Brandon; three brothers, Doyle Ellis, Arnold and Raymond White and three sisters, Lucille Perry, Dorothy Young and E.E. Haythcoat.

Survivors include four grandchildren, Danny Brandon, of Portageville, Mo., Donna Webb, of Steele, Mo., Tracy Thomas, of Caruthersville, Mo. and Jimmy Brandon, of Osceola, Ark.; five great-grandchildren, Sarah and John Thomas, of Caruthersville, Nick Brandon, of Cape Girardeau, Mo., Alex Brandon, of Hayti, Mo. and Ricky Jo Webb, of Steele; one brother, Ed White, of Greenhill, Ala. and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with James Powell officiating.

Burial will follow at the Oak Ridge cemetery in Kennett.

Pallbearers are Delan Young, Michael Wade, Jerry Wright, Harold Jackson and William Forrest.

Geneva Williams

Geneva Autry Williams, 76, of Hayti, Mo., died Monday, Jan. 21, 2002 in Memphis, Tenn.

Born March 14, 1925, in West, Miss., daughter of the late Walter and Grace Sorrell Autry, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hayti and a retired bookkeeper for Wonder Bread.

Survivors include one daughter, Ann Rogers and husband, Don, of Memphis, Tenn.; two grandsons, Scott and Shawn Rogers, both of Cordova, Tenn. and two great-grandchildren, Abbigale and Hailey Rogers, both of Cordova.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, at the First Baptist Church in Hayti with the Rev. Mike Melton officiating.

Burial was in the Woodlawn cemetery at Hayti.

Pallbearers were Ron Birmingham, Bob Turnage, Dub Pate, W.T. Davidson and Bud and Todd Mettleton.

Honorary pallbearers were Woodrow Parish, Herbert DeWeese, Bill Robertson and Ed Adams.

John W. German Funeral Home of Hayti was in charge of arrangements.

Zena Hunter

Zena Hunter, 95, of Gideon, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2002, at Gideon Care Center.

Visitation is today, Sunday, Jan. 27, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Bradshaw Funeral Home of Malden.

Funeral services at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 28, at the Bradshaw Chapel.

Burial will follow in Memorial Park cemetery at Malden.
