Mary James
Mary Ada James, 97, of Campbell, Mo., formerly of Marked Tree, Ark., died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002, at the Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott, Ark.
Born April 9, 1904, in Paducah, Ky., daughter of the late James and Alberta Neff Woods, she was a homemaker and a member of the United Methodist Church in Marked Tree.
On April 1, 1923, in Blytheville, Ark., she married
Jesse T. James, who preceded her in death on July 3, 1986. She was also preceded in death by one son, Edward T. James; one grandson, Stefan Wayne Privett; two sisters and one brother.
Survivors include three daughters, Laura Mae Privett, of Coloma, Mich., Mary Frances Tull, of Bethel Springs, Tenn. and Bertie Virginia Boyd, of Campbell; 19 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, at the Landess Funeral Home in Campbell.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 1, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ruth Edwards officiating.
Burial will follow at the Marked Tree cemetery.
Terry McDonald
Terry Wayne McDonald, 55, of Campbell, Mo., died Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital East in Memphis, Tenn.
Born Dec. 26, 1946, in Leachville, Ark., son of Veda McDonald, of Campbell and the late Woodrow McDonald, he was a farmer and of the Baptist faith. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of the Four Mile Lodge, a Shriner, a member of the Campbell Police Reserves, past president of the Campbell School board and past president of the Missouri Peach Fair Board.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara McDonald, of Campbell; one daughter, Marcia Rogers and husband, Casey, of Paragould, Ark. and one grandson, Tyler Wayne Rogers, of Paragould.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Wednesday, Jan. 30, at the Landess Funeral Home in Campbell. Masonic services will follow at 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dale Rickman officiating.
Burial will follow at the Woodlawn cemetery in Campbell.
Pallbearers are Randy Foster, David Faughn, Bill Swift, Steve Wright, Rick Lawson and David Morgan.
Honorary pallbearers are Robert Philpot, Paul Sparks, Claude Foster and Tom Crunk.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Flying Colors Support Group at the Memphis Cancer Center.
Louis Owens
Louis N. Owens, 78, of Campbell, Mo., died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002, at his residence.
Born Aug. 7, 1923, in Elbridge, Tenn., son of the late Phonzo and Minnie Hammet Owens, he was a U.S. Army veteran serving in WWII, a carpenter, a member of the VFW in Malden and he attended the First Pentecostal Church in Bernie.
On March 4, 1951, in Piggott, Ark., he married
Irene Click, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include one son, Dan Owens, of San Marcos, Texas; two daughters, Diane Godair, of Burlington, N.C. and Susan Owens, of Campbell; two brothers, Lloyd Owens, of Plymouth, Mich. and Bill Owens, of Lebanon, Mo.; three sisters, Linda Sanford and Laverne Fine, both of Dyersburg, Tenn. and Lottie Cunningham, of Plymouth, Mich.
He was preceded in death by one grandchild and three brothers, Lindo, Lonnie and Jack Owens.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. today, Wednesday, Jan. 30, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden, Mo.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Maxwell Lewis officiating.
Burial will follow at the Memorial Park cemetery in Malden.
Minnie Allen
Minnie Allen, 89, of Kennett, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2002, at National Health Care in Kennett.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Kennett.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. James Lewis and A.C. Gardner officiating.
Burial will follow at the Memorial Gardens cemetery in Kennett.
Maggie Butler
Maggie Butler, 101, of Wardell, Mo., died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002, at National Health Care in Kennett.
Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at the Bradshaw-Osburn Funeral Home Chapel in Wardell.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at the Bradshaw-Osburn Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow at the Homestown cemetery in Wardell.
Edward Chambers
Edward Walker Chambers, 61, of Little Rock, Ark., formerly of Campbell, Mo., died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002.
He was an active member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church and of Kairos and a volunteer at St. Francis House and Helping Hand of Greater Little Rock.
Survivors include one sister, Mary A. Shenker, of Little Rock; two brothers, Father Leonard Chambers, of Joplin, Mo. and William James Chambers, of Lawrenceville, Ga. and a host of nieces and nephews.
A Rosary service was held at 6 p.m. today, Thursday, Jan. 31, at the Roller-Chenal Funeral Home Chapel in Little Rock.
Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 1, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church with the Rev. Leonard Chambers officiating.
Burial will follow at 3 p.m. in the Woodlawn cemetery at Campbell.

Carolyn Davis
Carolyn Davis, 94, of Malden, Mo., died Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, at the Malden Nursing Center.
Born March 7, 1907, in Post Stoke, Ark., daughter of the late William and Frances Benson Seward, she was a member of the Zion Grove Baptist Church in Malden.
In 1924, she married
Robert Emmett Davis, who preceded her in death in June, 1958. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Cloteen Davis; two grandsons, Steven Stone and William Stone, Jr.; five sisters, Delia Porter, Rose Johnson, Pinkie Brandy, Sadie Burton and Gracie Cato and two brothers, William and Ervin Seward.
Survivors include five daughters, Darlene Armstead, Jean Davidson and Margaret Smith Williamson, all of Malden, Juanita Price, of Chicago, Ill. and Christine Davis, of Maywood, Ill.; one son, Robert Emmett Davis, Jr. and wife, Deborah Davis, of Chicago; one sister, King Person, of Diaz, Ark.; 16 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at the Macedonia MB Church in Malden.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at the Macedonia MB Church with the Revs. Larry Simmons and Margaret Smith Williamson officiating.
Burial will follow at the Rosewood cemetery in Malden.
Blair Pankey
Blair Pankey, 85, of Springfield, Mo., died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2002, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

Dainie Cecil
Dainie Eugene Cecil, 75, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Thursday, March 28, 2002, at Pemiscot Memorial Health Systems in Hayti, Mo.
Born Jan. 18, 1927, in Caruthersville, daughter of the late Orville and Mary Lourena Tull Fisher and she was a homemaker and a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. On Nov. 9, 1955, in Portageville, Mo., she married
Charles Edward Cecil, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include three sons, Charles E. "Charley" Jr. and Eugene Cecil, both of Caruthersville and Joseph Cecil, of Fort Campbell, Ken.; one daughter, Mary Speidel, of West Memphis, Ark.; one brother, Joe Riggins, Jr., of Idaho City, Idaho; one sister, Billie McCrory, of West Palm Beach, Fla.; 13 grandchildren and three great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, John Allen and John Joseph Cecil; two brothers, John Brazzell and Wade Riggins and one sister, Maggie Patterson.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. April 1, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Joe Campbell officiating.
Burial was in the Portageville cemetery. Pallbearers were Gene and James Fowler, Richard, Jeremy and David Cecil and Steven Speidel.
The H.S. Smith Funeral Home of Caruthersvill was in charge arrangements.
Verla Edwards
Verla Louise Edwards, 71, of Kennett, died Sunday, March 31, 2002, at her residence.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Tuesday, April 2, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Perry Clark and Richard Bray officiating.
Burial will follow in the Oak Ridge cemetery at Kennett.
Howard Etheridge
Howard C. Etheridge, 84, of Memphis, Tenn., died Wednesday, March 27, 2002, in Memphis.
Born Aug. 28, 1917, in Halsell, Texas, son of the late Carl and Margaret Elizabeth Etheridge, he was a U.S. veteran serving in WWII, a member of the Raleigh Presbyterian Church and he was retired from the USDA Cotton Division.
Survivors include two grandsons, Stephen Johnson and wife, Angelia, of Millington, Tenn. and Scott Johnson, of Horn Lake, Miss.; one great grandson, Logan William Johnson, of Millington; one daughter-in-law, Charlotte Johnson, of Horn Lake, and one sister, Maureen Ellis Etheridge, of Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his wife, Olline Brooks Etheridge; one son, William Chester Johnson and two brothers, Neil and Vincent Etheridge.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 30, at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti, Mo. with Rev. George Spransy officiating.
Burial was in the Woodlawn cemetery at Hayti. Pallbearers were Stephen and Scott Johnson, Charles R. Brooks, Thomas Wayne Averill, Martin Ray and Bobby Irions.
William Hill
William Hill, 82, of Malden, Mo., died Monday, April !, 2002, at Three Rivers Healthcare North in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
