Larry Jones

Larry Jones, 59, of Kennett, died Friday, April 5, 2002, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

Born June 7, 1942, in Tennessee, he was the son of the late Elmer Claudie and Flora Mae Cunningham Jones. He attended the Jehovah's Witnesses Kingdom Hall.

On March 16, 1966, he married Pat Godsey, who survives of the home. Survivors also include two sons, Larry Jones and wife, Linda, of Kennett and Steven Godsey, of Silva, Mo.; four daughters, Fay Walters and husband, Rick, of Bragg City, Mo., Peggy McMillin and husband, Marty, of Rutherford, Tenn., Teresa Howard, and husband, Tom, of Carthage, Mo. and Cheryl Dees and husband, Carl, of Kennett; one brother, Claud Jones, of McKenzie, Tenn,; two sisters, Nellie Matlock, of Corinth, Miss. and Gelinda Hudges, of Knoxville, Tenn.; 33 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 8, at McDaniel Funeral Chapel in Kennett with Revs. McDougal and Dees officiating.

Burial was in the Memorial Gardens in McKenzie, Tenn.

Pallbearers were Carl Dees, Marty McMillin, Tommy Walters, Tom Howard, Jonathan Brown, Cody McMillin. Honorary pallbearer was Tom Walters.

Mamie Maples

Mamie Lee Maples, 77, of Cardwell, Mo., died Friday, April 5, 2002, at the Senath Nursing Center in Senath.

Born Aug. 29, 1924, in Gideon, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Zadie Forrester Curry.

On Aug. 29, 1924, in Paragould, Ark., she married Raymond Maples, who survives of the home.

Survivors also include one son, Steven Maples, of Cardwell; two daughters, Marion Compton, of St. Charles, Mo. and Donna Bishop and husband, Jim, of Paragould; one brother, Wallace Forrester, of Arbyrd, Mo.; three sisters, Glenda Wamper, of Bonne Terre, Mo., Jackie Forrester, of Flat River, Mo. and Billie June Sims, of Paragould; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Ronnie Maples; two brothers, Jerry and Bobby Joe Forrester and two sisters, Maxine Moore and Dixie Rosypal.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 7, at the Calvery Full Gospel Church in Cardwell with Leland Dement officiating.

Burial was in the Cardwell cemetery.

Pallbearers were Carl and Wade Drury, Tony Wamper, Larry and Larry Jr. and Kevin Jones.

Vannie Marsh

Vannie Pearl Marsh, 97, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Saturday, April 6, 2002, at Pemiscot Memorial Health Systems in Hayti, Mo.

Born Feb. 14, 1905, in Burlison, Mo., daughter of the late Thomas Marshal and Ada Mae Coleman Edwards, she was employed by Grabers and J.C. Penney as a seamstress prior to her retirement, and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.

On Feb. 26, 1922, in Blytheville, Ark., she married Edward Houston Marsh, who preceded her in death.

Survivors include two sons, Walter Thomas Marsh, of Troy, Mich. and Robert Edward Marsh, of Jonesboro, Ark.; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Naomi Lavern Marsh Navarre and Patricia Ann Marsh and four brothers.

Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 8, at the Mt. Zion cemetery in Steele, Mo. with Rev. Anthony Stepp officiating.

The H.S. Smith Funeral Home was in charge of the services.

Earnest Moore

Earnest Moore, 69, of Kennett, died Tuesday, April 9, 2002, at National Health Care in Kennett.

Funeral services are incomplete with the Bradshaw Funeral Home of Kennett.

Vera Richardson

Vera Curnett Richardson, 95, of Senath, Mo., died Saturday, April 6, 2002, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.

She was born Sept. 3, 1906, in Brookland, Ark.

In 1923 she married Bob Richardson who preceded her in death in 1975 and she later married Edgar Curnett.

Survivors include three sons, Lewis "Tink" Richardson, of Cardwell, Mo., Alvin Richardson, of Eureka, Mo. and Melvin Richardson, of Florisant, Mo.; two daughters, Bobbie Foster, of Senath and Shirley Riley, of Eureka; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Becky Kweely and one brother, Bub Reynolds.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. today, Tuesday, April 9, at the Senath McDaniel Funeral Chapel in Senath.

Pallbearers were her grandsons, Greg, Ryan, Mathew and Eric Richardson, Randy Marler and Larry West.

Robert Rushing

Robert R. Rushing, 80, of Senath, Mo., died Sunday, April 7, 2002, at the Senath Nursing Center in Senath, Mo.

Born July 4, 1921, in Cooter, Mo., he was son of the late John and Vinnie Ray Rushing.

On June 1, 1946, in Paragould, Ark., he married Willow Dean Barrow, who survives of the home.

Survivors also include one son, Bobby Ray Rushing, of Senath; two daughters, Renee Gentry and husband, Gerald, and Debbie Miller and husband, Marty, both of Senath; one brother, John Reeder Rushing, of Bernie, Mo.; three sisters, Mildred Bost and Dollie Earl, both of Senath, and Sue Bogadi, of Memphis, Tenn. and nine grandchildren, Robert and Stephen Rushing, Deanna Miller, Monica Grubb, Bobbie Brooks, Jennie Hunter, Mark Miller, Tiffany Beaton and Gerald Gentry III.

He was preceded in death by one son, Jerry Dean Rushing.

Funeral servies were held at 3 p.m. today, Tuesday, April 9, at the First Baptist Church in Senath with Rev. Doug Clinton officiating.

Burial was in the Memorial Gardens in Kennett . Pallbearers were Robert and Stephen Rushing, Mark Miller, Gerald Gentry III, Brian Grubb, Chris Brooks, Chris Clardy, Michael Hunter and John Beaton.

Honorary pallbearers were Carl Lee Newman, Lester Gene and Bobby Smith, Joe Thompson, Oble Reagan, Gene West, Gerald Gentry and R.W. McLain. Helen Wheeler

Helen Wheeler, 84, of Kennett, died Monday, April 8, 2002, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.

Funeral services are incomplete with the McDaniel Funeral Home of Kennett.

Mildred Hamlett Mildred Elaine Mikel Hamlett, 74, of St. Charles, Mo., formerly of Malden, Mo., died Tuesday, April 9, 2002, at St. Charles.

Born May 9, 1927, in Campbell, Mo., daughter of the late Robert William Bill and Sybil Irene Doser Mikel, she was a retired assembler for Bussman Manufacturing in St. Charles. She was a member of the Church of God located in St. Charles.

On Feb. 22, 1947, in Piggott, Ark. she married Charles Thomas Hamlett, who survives of the home.

Survivors also include two sons, Larry Joe Hamlett and wife, Jane, of Honolulu, Hawaii and Bobby Gene Hamlett and wife, Midge, of St. Peters, Mo.; one daughter, Mildred Evelyn Clark and husband, Don, of St. Charles; two sisters, Louise Hamlett and Betty Brooks, both of Malden, Mo.; two grandchildren, Todd Hamlett, of St. Charles and Kim Watford, of Winterville, N.C. and one great-grandchild, Dylan Hamlett, of St. Charles.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.

Visitation will be at 6 p.m. today, Thursday, April 11, at the Landess Funeral Home in Malden, Mo.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 12, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Malden with Rev. Dale Shoup officiating.

Burial will follow in the Woodlawn cemetery in Campbell.

Robert Rushing

Robert R. Rushing, 80, of Senath, Mo., died Sunday, April 7, 2002, at the Senath Nursing Center in Senath.

Born July 4, 1921, in Cooter, Mo., son of the late John and Vinnie Ray Rushing, he was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Iran, Iraq, and Russia.

On June 1, 1946, in Paragould, Ark., he married Willow Dean Barrow, who survives of the home.

Funeral servies were held Monday, April 9, at the First Baptist Church in Senath with Rev. Doug Clinton officiating.

Burial was in the Memorial Gardens in Kennett. Pallbearers were Robert and Stephen Rushing, Mark Miller, Gerald Gentry III, Brian Grubb, Chris Brooks, Chris Clardy, Michael Hunter and John Beaton.

Helen Wheeler

Helen Wheeler, 84, of Kennett, died Monday, April 8, 2002, at Twin Rivers Medical Center at Kennett.

Born March 16, 1918, in Arbyrd, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Charles Edward and Bessie Isabell Ray. She married Roy Wheeler, who preceded her in death.

Survivors include one daughter, Marcia Lee Brown, of Kennett; two sisters, Evadene Roach, of Chicago, Ill. and Geraldine Hicks, of Kennett; two grandchildren, Mindy Sewell, of Ft. Worth, Texas and Michael Buck, of Kennett and two great-grandchildren, Alyssa Glass, of Ft. Worth and Nathaniel Buck, of Poplar Bluff.

Visitation was held from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. today, Thursday, April 11 at McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. today in the McDaniel Funeral Service Chapel in Kennett with Rev. Doug Clinton officiating.

Burial was in the Lulu cemetery near Senath.

Pallbearers were Fred Blanton, Jerry, Ronnie, David and Steven Hicks, and Scott Morgan.

Jesse Brown

Jesse Brown, 86, of Hayti, Mo., died Thursday, April 11, 2002, at Pemiscot Memorial Nursing Home in Hayti.

Funeral services are incomplete with the Bradshaw Funeral Home of Hayti.

Mary Wagner

Mary Evadean Wagner, 85, of Malden, Mo., died Thursday, April 11, 2002, at the Malden Nursing Home in Malden.

Born Sept. 10, 1916, in Caruthersville, Mo., daughter of the late Frank and Bertha Hellums Drake, she was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Malden.

On Oct. 4, 1936, in Caruthersville, Mo., she married Grady Wagner, who preceded her in death on Nov. 24, 1973.

Survivors include three sons, Bill Wagner, of Portageville, Mo., James Wagner, of Bernie, Mo. and Jerry Wagner, of Holland, Mo.; two daughters, Louise Pack, of Advance, Mo. and JoAnn Morris of Malden; nine grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Alene Brennan and two half brothers, Harold Williams and Flavis Drake.

Visitation will be held at 6 p.m. today, Friday, April 12, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 13, at the First Assembly of God Church in Malden with the Revs. Dale Shoup and Brad Moore officiating.

Burial will follow in the Oak Ridge cemetery in Kennett.
