Jessie Brown
Jessie Brown, 86, of Hayti, Mo., died Thursday, April 11, 2002, at the Pemiscot Nursing Home in Hayti.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, at the Bradshaw-Osburn Funeral Home in Hayti.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, at the Central Baptist Church in Hayti with Rev. Tommie Allen officiating.
Burial will follow in the Evergreen cemetery at Hayti.
Goldie Gregory
Goldie Marie Gregory, 79, of Portageville, Mo., died Wednesday, April 10, 2002, at her residence.
Born Aug. 31, 1922, in Parma, Mo., daughter of the late John and Leuada Angle Roby Knight, she was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Michigan and a cook at the Caruthersville Nutrition Center until her retirement.
On Nov. 25, 1945, in Caruthersville, Mo., she married
Floyd Gregory, who preceded her in death on Feb. 27, 1988.
Survivors include one daughter, Cindy White and husband, Charles, of Portageville; two grandsons, Dallas and Austin White, both of Portageville; five nieces; Jean Morgan, of Stevenville, Mich., Ginger Robinson, of Naples, Fla., Glenda Ruth, of Kennett, Cheryl Becnel, of New Orleans, La. and Ellen Pemble, of Florida; three nephews, Phillip Renfroe, of Wyoming, Christopher Renfroe, of Iowa and Billy Wright, of Florida; two great-nieces and two great-nephews.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 13 at the Maple cemetery with the Rev. Griff Walker officiating.
Pallbearers were Charles, Dallas and Austin White, Curtis Renfroe, Dave Closson and Matthew Davis.
H.S. Smith Funeral Home of Caruthersville was in charge of arrangements.
Robert Kirkbride Sr.
Robert Cook Kirkbride Sr., 91, of Malden, Mo., died Monday, April 15, 2002, at the Ridgeview Nursing Home in Malden.
Born Oct. 18, 1910, in Hayes, S.D., son of the late Harry and Iris Cook Kirkbride, he was a farmer, auctioneer, livestock dealer, former owner of Malden Sales and a member of the United Methodist Church in Malden.
On May 3, 1932, in Caruthersville, Mo. he married
Edythe McGehee, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include one daughter, Karen Menard and husband, Don, of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; one son, Robert Kirkbride Jr. and wife, Janice, of Fenton, Mo.; four grandsons; one granddaughter; six great-grandsons; one great-granddaughter and one sister, Margaret Radican, of Las Vegas, Nev.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Lowell and Richard Kirkbride and three sisters, Marie Finney, Mildred Mohr and Ada Cereal.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, at the Landess Funeral Home in Malden.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 18, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Susan Marner-Sides officiating.
Burial will follow in the Memorial Park cemetery at Malden.
Willie Simmons, Sr.
Willie George Simmons Sr., 64, of Kennett, died Friday, April 12, 2002, at Three Rivers Healthcare North in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
Born June 9, 1937, in Auvergne, Ark., he was the son of the late James Edward and Rosie Lee Moore Simmons.
On April 10, 1982, in Kennett, he married
Katherine L. Samples Simmons, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include nine sons, Allen and Jesse Samples, Willie George Simmons Jr. and Teddy Dewayne Simmons, all of Kennett, Terry Simmons, of Jonesboro, Ark., Billy Joe Simmons, of Evansville, Ind., Robert Simmons, of Doraville, Ga., Prentice Johnson, of Suwanee, Ga. and Eric Weaver, of Orlando, Fla. ; five daughters, Arnice Muojekwu, of Evansville, Karen Simmons, of Kennett, Jearlyn Waever, of Douglasville, Ga., Teresa Alston, of Ellenwood, Ga. and Renina Wortham, of Douglasville; four brothers, Nathaniel Simmons, of Diaz, Ark., Henry Simmons and William Terry Simmons, both of Tuckerman, Ark. and Robert Simmons, of Cape Girardeau, Mo. and four sisters, Dorothy Jones, of Jonesboro, Mary Graves and Josephine Browdie, both of Kennett and Elwanda Ellis, of Newport, Ark.
He was preceded in death by one son, Dwight Simmons, one sister, Leoper Rowe and two brothers, Ad & Bobby Simmons.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. today, Tuesday, April 16, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Kennett with the Rev. Willie Johnson officiating.
Burial was in the Oak Ridge cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers were Tommy and Richard Samples, Marco Parr, Calvin Willoughby, Jeff Wagster and Byron Watkins.
Honorary pallbearers were Scott Turner, Oscar Willoughby, Joey Samples and Braider Operators at Parker Hannifin Corp.

Kenneth Bibbs
Kenneth Sheryl Bibbs, 67, of Hattiesburg, Miss., formerly of Clarkton, Mo., died Sunday, April 14, 2002 at his residence.
Born Jan. 19, 1935, in DuQuoin, Ill., son of the late Claude Edgar and Etta Ann Loucks Bibbs Owens, he was a member of VFW of Malden, American Legion Post #293 of Malden, a U.S. Army veteran and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Bibbs Jr., Panama City, Fla. and Michael A. Bibbs, of St. Louis, Mo.; three daughters, Cheryl Ellis-Boyd, of Kansas City, Mo., Rebeeca Snow, of Poplar Bluff, Mo. and Charlotte Kaye Denormandie, of St. Louis; one sister, Lavida Bollinger, of Advance, Mo.; one half sister, Kathy Weeks, of Ward, Ark.; two brothers, Gene and Jerry Bibbs, both of Ward; 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, J.B. and Carl Bibbs.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. til 3:30 p.m., Thursday, April 18, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, April 18, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bob Wiggins officiating.
Burial will follow in the Elder cemetery at Campbell, Mo.
Bud Davis
Bud Davis, 86, of Steele, Mo., died Monday, April 15, 2002, at the Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in Hayti, Mo.
Born Feb. 20, 1916, in Florence, Ala., son of the late Wiley H. and Roxie C. Lemay Davis, he was a member of the Tyler Church of God in Tyler, Mo., a U.S. Army veteran and retired from Missouri Highway maintenance.
Survivors include one brother, Hershel Davis, of Battle Creek, Mich.; three sisters, Eula Palmer and Lucille Hall, both of Steele, and Tessie Smith, of Ringold, Ga.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ott and Herbert Davis and three sisters, Lurene Mashburn, Beatrice Gestring and Janie Lefan.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. today, Wednesday, April 17, at the Bradshaw Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Steele with the Rev. Gerald Moss officiating.
Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion cemetery at Steele.
Lura Gupton
Lura Mae Gupton, 85, of Kennett, died Tuesday, April 16, 2002, at National Health Care in Kennett.
Born Feb. 8, 1917, in Kentucky, daughter of the late Richard Benjamin and Ora Sudberry Irvin, she was a homemaker.
Survivors include one daughter, Freda Pritchett, of Rives, Mo.; three sons, Vernon Creasy, of St. Louis, Mo., Kenneth Weldon Creasy, of Tennessee and David Wayne Creasy, of Arnold, Mo; one brother, Earl Irvin, of Florida; one sister, Betty Ogle, of St. Louis; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl W. Gupton; five sisters and six brothers.
Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., Thursday, April 18, at the Bradshaw Powell Funeral Home in Steele.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 18, at the Mt. Zoin cemetery with the Rev. Charles Faught officiating.

Billy Rose, 68, of Arbyrd, Mo., died Tuesday, April 16, 2002, at the Arkansas Methodist Hospital in Paragould, Ark.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 18, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Arbyrd.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 19, at the Arbyrd Baptist Church in Arbyrd with the Rev. Allen Cuerton and Kevin Know officiating.
Burial will follow in the Lulu cemetery at Senath, Mo.
Marilyn Sullivan
Marilyn Jo Annafaye Sullivan, 50, of Florissant, Mo., formerly of Malden, Mo., died Monday, April 15, 2002, at the DePaul Healthcare Center in Bridgeton, Mo.
Born June 8, 1951, in Malden, daughter of the late Leo Van and Ruth Glover Van Trease, she was of the Nazarene faith.
On March 26, 1968, in Gideon, Mo., she married
David Sullivan, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include two sons, David and John Sullivan, both of Hazelwood, Mo.; two sisters, Nellie Wilburn and husband, Allen, of Florissant and Artina Williams, of Arnold, Mo; four brothers, Wally Van Trease and wife, Rosa, of St. Ann, Mo., Edmond Van Tresae and wife, Marilyn, of Arnold, Jerry Van Trease and wife, Wilma, of Noel, Mo. and Dickie Van Trease, of Piedmont, Mo. and two grandchildren, Tyler and Alyssa Sullivan, both of Florissant.
She was preceded in death by Doris , Linda and Charlotte Van Trease and two brothers Don and David Van Trease.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. today, Wednesday, April 17, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden.
Funeral services willl be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 18, at Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow in the Rosewood cemetery at Malden.
